The feeding and oviposition behavior of the brown planthopper (BPH), Nilaparvata lugens on two transgenic indica rice homogenous genotypes (B1 and B6) with cry1Ab gene from Bacillus thuringiensis and trans...The feeding and oviposition behavior of the brown planthopper (BPH), Nilaparvata lugens on two transgenic indica rice homogenous genotypes (B1 and B6) with cry1Ab gene from Bacillus thuringiensis and transgenic restored line of hybrid rice (MSA) with SCK gene (a modified CpTI gene) were measured, compared with those on their corresponding non transgenic parental cultivars Jiazao935 and Minghui86 performed by BPH. Under the selection condition of host plants by BPH, loading percentage, oviposition preference and laying egg number of BPH both on transgenic cry1Ab rice and transgenic SCK rice were not significantly different from those on their controls, while their total number of probing wound caused by PBH expect for feeding on B1 plants was markedly more than that on the control. In contrast, under the non selection condition, total number of probing wound caused by BPH on either transgenic cry1Ab rice or transgenic SCK rice was pronouncedly more than those on their controls. Conversely, their honeydew amount excreted by BPH after feeding for 24 h was significantly less than those on the control. As a conclusion, three tested transgenic rice genotypes with insect resistance acted adverse effect on BHP feeding, and no marked effect on BPH oviposition.展开更多
The bioavailability of bound residue(BR) derived from 14 C-labeled chlorsulfuron in soil and effect of the main components of the BR on growth of rape(brassica napus) and rice(Oryza sativa L.) were investigat...The bioavailability of bound residue(BR) derived from 14 C-labeled chlorsulfuron in soil and effect of the main components of the BR on growth of rape(brassica napus) and rice(Oryza sativa L.) were investigated. The results showed that the BR with the concentration of 0 28 and 0 56 nmol/g air-dried soil, which was calculated by special radioactivity of 14 C-labeled chlorsulfuron parent compound, resulted in significant depression effect on growth of rape seedling. It was assured that the main components(2-amino-4-methoxyl-6-methyl-1,3,5-triazine, 2-amino-4-hydroxyl-6-methyl-1,3,5-triazine, and 2-chloro-benzenesul-f onamide) of the BR did not inhibit the growth of rape and rice. LC-MS analysis demonstrated that the parent compound previously bound to the soil matrix could be again released and transformed into methanol-extractable residue during the course of rape growth. It was concluded that the molecular leading to the phytotoxicity to rape and rice in the BR is still the parent compound.展开更多

It exhibited a Ca2+dependent ATPase activity, which was inhibited by 1μ mol/L EB and promoted by calcium ionophore A23187. Such an activity was responsible for the observed ATPdependent 45Ca2+ uptake into inside-out plasma membrane vesicles. This process was stimulated by 0.6μmol/L CaM and 20μmol/L IAA but inhibited by 2μmol/L ABA and abolished by A23187. However, its hig...The newly developed hybrid rice combination 'Xieyou 9308' (Xieqingzao A/T9308) has been regarded as a super-high-yielding rice variety, of which the yield potential reached as high as 12 t/ha. However, its high shattering characteristic (as high as 60%) has limited its wider application. In the current experiment, a non-shattering mutant line, M9308, was developed from T9308 by gamma irradiation. Comparisons were made but no marked differences were found between T9308 and M9308 as well as between their F1 hybrids crossed to Xieqingzao A for major agronomic and grain quality characters as well as resistance to diseases. Genetic analysis indicated that the non-shattering character of M9308 was governed by a single recessive gene.展开更多

Application of nuclear technique in agriculture (Nuclear Agricultural Sci-ences) based on the development of related sci-ence and technology is a high-tech area, and also a significant aspect of non-electrical power appli-cation of nuclear technique. As an important com-ponent of agricultural science and technology, Nu-clear technique application in agricultural field has achieved a lot and made remarkable contributions to the economic, social and ecological develop-ment of China. The current paper reviews the achievements, and presents the situation of the application of nuclear technique in the Chinese a-griculture briefly. The author strongly suggests that Chinese government should pay more attention to the study on the application of nuclear technique in agriculture, in order to promote its development and contribute more to the Chinese society and a-griculture.展开更多
