Climate change has well-documented psychological consequences for society.However,the emotional experiences of frontline conservation professionals remain underexplored.As key knowledge producers and participants in d...Climate change has well-documented psychological consequences for society.However,the emotional experiences of frontline conservation professionals remain underexplored.As key knowledge producers and participants in decision-making processes,conservation researchers play a crucial role in shaping and implementing adaptation and mitigation efforts,which are pivotal for effective climate planning.Understanding their emotional responses is essential for enhancing the success of these strategies and supporting climate action.This study aims to identify the most prevalent emotions experienced by conservation researchers regarding climate change across various countries and to examine the qualitative and quantitative factors shaping these emotions.An online survey was conducted with 362 participants from 98 academic and research institutions,utilising both closed and open-ended questions to capture demographic data,climate knowledge,stances on mitigation and adaptation,and emotional responses.Data analysis revealed that feelings of powerlessness,guilt,and concern were most frequently reported,driven by a profound sense of inability to halt climate change,frustration with perceived inaction by governments and industries,and self-assessed personal shortcomings.Age and stances on climate adaptation were identified as primary factors influencing emotional responses,particularly among individuals aged 20–50 and 61–70,with opposition to adaptation correlating with stronger emotional reactions.Demographic factors such as region,place of residence,and mitigation stances played a minor role.These findings provide valuable insights into the psychological well-being of conservation researchers related to climate change.展开更多

Concerns about air quality in dental clinics where aerosol generation during procedures poses significant health risks,have prompted investigations on advanced disinfection technologies.This editorial describes the st...Concerns about air quality in dental clinics where aerosol generation during procedures poses significant health risks,have prompted investigations on advanced disinfection technologies.This editorial describes the strengths and limitations of ventilation and aerosol control measures in dental offices,especially with respect to the use of graphene nanocomposites.The potential of graphene nanocomposites as an innovative solution to aerosol-associated health risks is examined in this review due to the unique properties of graphene(e.g.,high con-ductivity,mechanical strength,and antimicrobial activity).These properties have produced promising results in various fields,but the application of graphene in dentistry remains unexplored.The recent study by Ju et al which was published in World Journal of Clinical Cases evaluated the effectiveness of graphene-based air disinfection systems in dental clinics.The study demonstrated that graphene-based disinfection techniques produced significant reductions in suspended particulate matter and bacterial colony counts,when co-mpared with traditional methods.Despite these positive results,challenges such as material saturation,frequency of filter replacement,and associated costs must be addressed before widespread adoption of graphene-based disinfection techniques in clinical practice.Therefore,there is need for further research on material structure optimization,long-term safety evaluations,and broader clinical applications,in order to maximize their positive impact on public health.展开更多
Choline supports phospholipid synthesis,membrane integrity,neurotransmission,verylowdensity lipoprotein export,and one-carbon/epigenetic pathways,yet most United States adults fall short of adequate intake.Fatty liver...Choline supports phospholipid synthesis,membrane integrity,neurotransmission,verylowdensity lipoprotein export,and one-carbon/epigenetic pathways,yet most United States adults fall short of adequate intake.Fatty liver is now viewed as a mitochondrial-centric metabolic-inflammatory disorder;ethanol and excess linoleic acid(LA)can magnify bioenergetic stress when choline is insufficient to sustain phosphatidylcholine/phosphatidylethanolamine.This narrative review examines whether optimized choline delivery,alongside reduced exposure to mitochondrial toxicants,offers a rational therapeutic approach.Low choline intake associates with higher liver fat and aminotransferases.In rodents,choline deficiency combined with ethanol or LA lowers mitochondrial membrane potential,limitsβ-oxidation,and promotes steatosis and inflammation.Advanced formulations-especially citicoline-demonstrate favorable absorption and tissue choline delivery and may lessen trimethylamine-N-oxide formation versus free choline salts.Early,small human studies suggest that choline repletion,together with curtailed ethanol or dietary LA,can reduce intrahepatic triglyceride content and improve insulin sensitivity,though large randomized trials are lacking.Framing fatty liver as nutrition-modifiable mitochondrial toxicosis highlights correctable choline insufficiency when the liver is burdened by ethanol or excess LA.A dual strategy-using higher-bioavailability,gutmicrobial trimethylamineNoxide-sparing choline forms and mitigating mitochondrial toxicants-targets core bioenergetic defects,may reverse early steatosis,and warrants testing in adequately powered clinical trials.展开更多

In New Tired Light (NTL), redshifts are produced by the photons of light interacting with these self-same electrons and so, one would expect a direct relationship between the DM of an FRB and the redshift of the host galaxy. However, workers in this field assume expansion and weight the DM by dividing it by the scale factor (1 + z) to allow for expansion. Once this weighting is removed, it was predicted back in 2016 (when the first FRB was localized) and later presented at a conference and published in the proceedings that, as more FRB’s were localized, a graph of DM versus ln(1 + z) would be a straight line of gradient (mec/2hre) or 7.32 × 1025 m−2 in SI units. The original paper had twenty-four data points but this has risen significantly to sixty-four useable FRB’s and so this corrigendum updates that paper so that all sixty-four are used. The data give a straight-line graph of gradient 7.12 × 1025 m−2, a difference of 3% from (mec/2hre) predicted nine years earlier.展开更多

In the Turkish Economy,there were radical changes in the structure of the economy with the policies of opening up to the outside world and transition to a free market economy in the 1980s,and the last step of this ope...In the Turkish Economy,there were radical changes in the structure of the economy with the policies of opening up to the outside world and transition to a free market economy in the 1980s,and the last step of this opening up and liberalization process was realized with the decision number 32 in 1989.We can say that with the liberalization of capital movements in the 1990s,economic growth and development were tried to be achieved through hot money inflows rather than direct foreign investments.This trend made the economy more open to crises,and for the first time,a crisis occurred in the form of the 1994 economic crisis,which was understood to be caused by hot money.The same economic structure experienced a financial and economic crisis caused by hot money again in November 2000 and February 2001.While the crisis was overcome with the stand-by agreement made with the IMF(International Monetary Fund)and the announced Transition to a Strong Economy program,the economy started to grow rapidly with the ease of using foreign resources,and political stability seems to have enabled this economic growth process to continue uninterruptedly except 2009.There was also a decrease in inflation rates.The same economic structure continued in the period between 2010 and 2020,and the financing need of economic growth was met by outsourcing.However,this process was different from the previous decade and there was no economic and financial crisis other than the sudden increase in exchange rates in 2018.We can say that the sudden exchange rate increase in 2018 was perceived as a harbinger of possible exchange rate shocks in the following years.展开更多

The societal risk related to rainfalltriggered rapid debris flows is commonly managed in urbanized areas by means of early warning systems based on monitoring of hydrological parameters(such as rainfall or soil moistu...The societal risk related to rainfalltriggered rapid debris flows is commonly managed in urbanized areas by means of early warning systems based on monitoring of hydrological parameters(such as rainfall or soil moisture) and thresholds values.In Alpine catchments,this type of landslides is recurrent and represent one of the major geohazards.Debris flows are typically initiated by high-intensity rainstorms,prolonged rainfall with moderate intensity or snow melting.They frequently happen in situations of temporary infiltration into soils that are initially unsaturated.During significant rainfall events,the rise in pore water pressure can become crucial for the stability of slopes in particular areas.This phenomenon relies on hydraulic and geotechnical characteristics,along with the thickness of the involved soils.This procedure can result in a local drop in shear strength,as both apparent cohesion and effective stress decline,while driving forces rise because of the increase in unit weight.Accordingly,this study estimates Intensity-Duration(I-D) rainfall thresholds at the site-specific and distributed scales by combining empirical and physics-based approaches and modeling of soil coverings involved in soil slips or debris slides inducing debris flows.The approach was tested for mountain slopes of the Valtellina valley(Lombardia region,northern Italy),which suffered several catastrophic landslide events in the last decades.The empirical approach was adopted to reconstruct physics-based slope models of representative source areas of past debris flows events.To such a scope,nonpunctual but distributed data of hydro-mechanical soil properties and thicknesses were considered.Thus,to reconstruct the unsaturated/saturated critical conditions leading the slope instability,a combined hydrological modeling and infinite-slope stability analysis was adopted.This combined hydromechanical numerical model was used to attempt to determine a three-dimensional Intensity-Duration threshold for landslide initiation considering plausible rainfall for the Valtellina valley.Due to the lack of reliable records of past landslide hindering a thorough empirical analysis,the presented approach can be considered as a feasible approach for establishing a warning standard in urbanized areas at risk of shallow landslides triggered by rainfall.Moreover,findings highlight the importance of having access to spatially distributed soil characteristics to define and enhance input data for physics-based modelling.Finally,the proposed approach can aid an early warning system for the onset of shallow landslides by utilizing real-time rainfall monitoring or now-casting through a meteorological radar technique.展开更多

Objectives:Chemotherapy-induced nausea and vomiting(CINV)is a common adverse effect among breast cancer patients,significantly affecting quality of life.Existing evidence on the prevention,assessment,and management of...Objectives:Chemotherapy-induced nausea and vomiting(CINV)is a common adverse effect among breast cancer patients,significantly affecting quality of life.Existing evidence on the prevention,assessment,and management of this condition is fragmented and inconsistent.This study constructed a CINV knowledge graph using a large language model(LLM)to integrate nursing and medical evidence,thereby supporting systematic clinical decision-making.Methods:A top-down approach was adopted.1)Knowledge base preparation:Nine databases and eight guideline repositories were searched up to October 2024 to include guidelines,evidence summaries,expert consensuses,and systematic reviews screened by two researchers.2)Schema design:Referring to the Unified Medical Language System,Systematized Nomenclature of Medicine-Clinical Terms,and the Nursing Intervention Classification,entity and relation types were defined to build the ontology schema.3)LLM-based extraction and integration:Using the Qwen model under the CRISPE framework,named entity recognition,relation extraction,disambiguation,and fusion were conducted to generate triples and visualize them in Neo4j.Four expert rounds ensured semantic and logical consistency.Model performance was evaluated using precision,recall,F1-score,and 95%confidence interval(95%CI)in Python 3.11.Result:A total of 47 studies were included(18 guidelines,two expert consensuses,two evidence summaries,and 25 systematic reviews).The Qwen model extracted 273 entities and 289 relations;after expert validation,238 entities and 242 relations were retained,forming 244 triples.The ontology comprised nine entity types and eight relation types.The F1-scores for named entity recognition and relation extraction were 82.97(95%CI:0.820,0.839)and 85.54(95%CI:0.844,0.867),respectively.The average node degree was 2.03,with no isolated nodes.Conclusion:The LLM-based CINV knowledge graph achieved structured integration of nursing and medical evidence,offering a novel,data-driven tool to support clinical nursing decision-making and advance intelligent healthcare.展开更多

文摘Climate change has well-documented psychological consequences for society.However,the emotional experiences of frontline conservation professionals remain underexplored.As key knowledge producers and participants in decision-making processes,conservation researchers play a crucial role in shaping and implementing adaptation and mitigation efforts,which are pivotal for effective climate planning.Understanding their emotional responses is essential for enhancing the success of these strategies and supporting climate action.This study aims to identify the most prevalent emotions experienced by conservation researchers regarding climate change across various countries and to examine the qualitative and quantitative factors shaping these emotions.An online survey was conducted with 362 participants from 98 academic and research institutions,utilising both closed and open-ended questions to capture demographic data,climate knowledge,stances on mitigation and adaptation,and emotional responses.Data analysis revealed that feelings of powerlessness,guilt,and concern were most frequently reported,driven by a profound sense of inability to halt climate change,frustration with perceived inaction by governments and industries,and self-assessed personal shortcomings.Age and stances on climate adaptation were identified as primary factors influencing emotional responses,particularly among individuals aged 20–50 and 61–70,with opposition to adaptation correlating with stronger emotional reactions.Demographic factors such as region,place of residence,and mitigation stances played a minor role.These findings provide valuable insights into the psychological well-being of conservation researchers related to climate change.
文摘MXene-based smart contact lenses demonstrate a cutting-edge advancement in wearable ophthalmic technology,combining real-time biosensing,therapeutic capabilities,and user comfort in a single platform.These devices take the advantage of the exceptional electrical conductivity,mechanical flexibility,and biocompatibility of two-dimensional MXenes to enable noninvasive,tear-based monitoring of key physiological markers such as intraocular pressure and glucose levels.Recent developments focus on the integration of transparent MXene films into the conventional lens materials,allowing multifunctional performance including photothermal therapy,antimicrobial and anti-inflammation protection,and dehydration resistance.These innovations offer promising strategies for ocular disease management and eye protection.In addition to their multifunctionality,improvements in MXene synthesis and device engineering have enhanced the stability,transparency,and wearability of these lenses.Despite these advances,challenges remain in long-term biostability,scalable production,and integration with wireless communication systems.This review summarizes the current progress,key challenges,and future directions of MXene-based smart contact lenses,highlighting their transformative potential in next-generation digital healthcare and ophthalmic care.
文摘Soft actuators have garnered substantial attention in current years in view of their potential appliances in diverse domains like robotics,biomedical devices,and biomimetic systems.These actuators mimic the natural movements of living organisms,aiming to attain enhanced flexibility,adaptability,and versatility.On the other hand,angle-independent structural color has been achieved through innovative design strategies and engineering approaches.By carefully controlling the size,shape,and arrangement of nanostructures,researchers have been able to create materials exhibiting consistent colors regardless of the viewing angle.One promising class of materials that holds great potential for bioinspired soft actuators is MXenes in view of their exceptional mechanical,electrical,and optical properties.The integration of MXenes for bioinspired soft actuators with angle-independent structural color offers exciting possibilities.Overcoming material compatibility issues,improving color reproducibility,scalability,durability,power supply efficiency,and cost-effectiveness will play vital roles in advancing these technologies.This perspective appraises the development of bioinspired MXene-centered soft actuators with angleindependent structural color in soft robotics.
文摘As AI systems scale, the limitations of cloud-based architectures, including latency, bandwidth, and privacy concerns, demand decentralized alternatives. Federated learning (FL) and Edge AI provide a paradigm shift by combining privacy preserving training with efficient, on device computation. This paper introduces a cutting-edge FL-edge integration framework, achieving a 10% to 15% increase in model accuracy and reducing communication costs by 25% in heterogeneous environments. Blockchain based secure aggregation ensures robust and tamper-proof model updates, while exploratory quantum AI techniques enhance computational efficiency. By addressing key challenges such as device variability and non-IID data, this work sets the stage for the next generation of adaptive, privacy-first AI systems, with applications in IoT, healthcare, and autonomous systems.
文摘Oral cancer is one of the malignant neoplasms that present major global health challenge.It is the sixth most prevalent type of cancer in the world,with a high incidence and mortality rate.This letter is a review of the study by Yin et al which was published in the World Journal of Clinical Cases(2024).The study evaluated the effect of Tongluo Jiedu as an adjuvant treatment for oral cancer.Over the years,there has been a continuous search for effective and less invasive treatments for oral cancer.This article emphasizes and discusses various therapeutic options currently available,and it highlights that early intervention and multidisciplinary management are crucial for improving outcomes.Traditional Chinese medicine,particularly Tongluo Jiedu,presents potential complementary approach to co-nventional oral cancer therapies.Future research on Tongluo Jiedu should be focused on validation of its efficacy and safety through large,well-designed clinical trials,as well as better understanding of the molecular mechanisms in-volved,and optimization of therapeutic combinations.Additionally,continuous education of health professionals is key to the effective and safe integration of this traditional medicine into clinical practice.Continuous research is essential for optimization of therapeutic strategies and for addressing the challenges presented by this neoplasm.

文摘Concerns about air quality in dental clinics where aerosol generation during procedures poses significant health risks,have prompted investigations on advanced disinfection technologies.This editorial describes the strengths and limitations of ventilation and aerosol control measures in dental offices,especially with respect to the use of graphene nanocomposites.The potential of graphene nanocomposites as an innovative solution to aerosol-associated health risks is examined in this review due to the unique properties of graphene(e.g.,high con-ductivity,mechanical strength,and antimicrobial activity).These properties have produced promising results in various fields,but the application of graphene in dentistry remains unexplored.The recent study by Ju et al which was published in World Journal of Clinical Cases evaluated the effectiveness of graphene-based air disinfection systems in dental clinics.The study demonstrated that graphene-based disinfection techniques produced significant reductions in suspended particulate matter and bacterial colony counts,when co-mpared with traditional methods.Despite these positive results,challenges such as material saturation,frequency of filter replacement,and associated costs must be addressed before widespread adoption of graphene-based disinfection techniques in clinical practice.Therefore,there is need for further research on material structure optimization,long-term safety evaluations,and broader clinical applications,in order to maximize their positive impact on public health.
文摘Choline supports phospholipid synthesis,membrane integrity,neurotransmission,verylowdensity lipoprotein export,and one-carbon/epigenetic pathways,yet most United States adults fall short of adequate intake.Fatty liver is now viewed as a mitochondrial-centric metabolic-inflammatory disorder;ethanol and excess linoleic acid(LA)can magnify bioenergetic stress when choline is insufficient to sustain phosphatidylcholine/phosphatidylethanolamine.This narrative review examines whether optimized choline delivery,alongside reduced exposure to mitochondrial toxicants,offers a rational therapeutic approach.Low choline intake associates with higher liver fat and aminotransferases.In rodents,choline deficiency combined with ethanol or LA lowers mitochondrial membrane potential,limitsβ-oxidation,and promotes steatosis and inflammation.Advanced formulations-especially citicoline-demonstrate favorable absorption and tissue choline delivery and may lessen trimethylamine-N-oxide formation versus free choline salts.Early,small human studies suggest that choline repletion,together with curtailed ethanol or dietary LA,can reduce intrahepatic triglyceride content and improve insulin sensitivity,though large randomized trials are lacking.Framing fatty liver as nutrition-modifiable mitochondrial toxicosis highlights correctable choline insufficiency when the liver is burdened by ethanol or excess LA.A dual strategy-using higher-bioavailability,gutmicrobial trimethylamineNoxide-sparing choline forms and mitigating mitochondrial toxicants-targets core bioenergetic defects,may reverse early steatosis,and warrants testing in adequately powered clinical trials.
文摘Dispersion measure in an FRB’s signal is produced by the photons of the radio waves interacting with the free electrons in the IGM. In New Tired Light (NTL), redshifts are produced by the photons of light interacting with these self-same electrons and so, one would expect a direct relationship between the DM of an FRB and the redshift of the host galaxy. However, workers in this field assume expansion and weight the DM by dividing it by the scale factor (1 + z) to allow for expansion. Once this weighting is removed, it was predicted back in 2016 (when the first FRB was localized) and later presented at a conference and published in the proceedings that, as more FRB’s were localized, a graph of DM versus ln(1 + z) would be a straight line of gradient (mec/2hre) or 7.32 × 1025 m−2 in SI units. The original paper had twenty-four data points but this has risen significantly to sixty-four useable FRB’s and so this corrigendum updates that paper so that all sixty-four are used. The data give a straight-line graph of gradient 7.12 × 1025 m−2, a difference of 3% from (mec/2hre) predicted nine years earlier.
文摘This paper critically re-examines the anthropocentric“Goldilocks Zone”paradigm that has dominated the search for extraterrestrial life.As of 2024,more than 5,500 exoplanets have been identified,yet only about 2%are located within the traditionally defined habitable zone(National Aeronautics and Space Administration(NASA)Exoplanet Archive,2024;Kane et al.,2023).Moreover,the discovery of extremophiles-organisms thriving in high-radiation,extreme heat,or vacuum environments-demonstrates that the boundaries of life far exceed Earth-like conditions(Rothschild&Mancinelli,2001).
文摘In the Turkish Economy,there were radical changes in the structure of the economy with the policies of opening up to the outside world and transition to a free market economy in the 1980s,and the last step of this opening up and liberalization process was realized with the decision number 32 in 1989.We can say that with the liberalization of capital movements in the 1990s,economic growth and development were tried to be achieved through hot money inflows rather than direct foreign investments.This trend made the economy more open to crises,and for the first time,a crisis occurred in the form of the 1994 economic crisis,which was understood to be caused by hot money.The same economic structure experienced a financial and economic crisis caused by hot money again in November 2000 and February 2001.While the crisis was overcome with the stand-by agreement made with the IMF(International Monetary Fund)and the announced Transition to a Strong Economy program,the economy started to grow rapidly with the ease of using foreign resources,and political stability seems to have enabled this economic growth process to continue uninterruptedly except 2009.There was also a decrease in inflation rates.The same economic structure continued in the period between 2010 and 2020,and the financing need of economic growth was met by outsourcing.However,this process was different from the previous decade and there was no economic and financial crisis other than the sudden increase in exchange rates in 2018.We can say that the sudden exchange rate increase in 2018 was perceived as a harbinger of possible exchange rate shocks in the following years.
文摘Cardiovascular disease(CVD)remains the leading cause of mortality worldwide despite major advances in prevention and treatment.The odd-chain saturated fatty acid pentadecanoic acid(C15:0),primarily obtained from dairy fat,has been associated with cardiometabolic benefits.To summarize recent advances in understanding the role of pentadecanoic acid(C15:0)in CVD biology and risk,and to identify knowledge gaps and future research priorities.A narrative review was conducted,drawing on 115 PubMed-indexed studies on odd-chain fatty acids(OCFAs)and cardiovascular outcomes,as well as illustrative mechanistic studies of C15:0.This narrative review synthesized evidence from approximately 115 PubMed-indexed studies on OCFAs and cardiovascular outcomes,along with mechanistic studies of C15:0,identified through targeted searches in PubMed,Scopus,and Web of Science from January 2000 through May 2025.
文摘The purpose of this qualitative inquiry is to explore Jesus Christ's teachings through the lens of the Spiritism Doctrine(SD),a relatively novel Christian religion.Further,SD literature is fundamentally rooted in the faith in the hereafter;the spirits'messages and teachings through mediums;Jesus Christ's teachings(the Gospel)as well as His behavior as a role model that must be followed by all human beings;and the practice of charity.Overall,the findings showed a rich body of knowledge,teachings,and lessons aiming to help the spiritual progress of humankind.That is,it was identified three larger themes,i.e.,mankind,who is Jesus,and His legacy,which shape a theoretical contribution of Jesus Christ's spiritual legacy in our lives.Jesus Christ carried out an authentic work-applied management through which He conveyed a new vision and superior values that continue inspiring us to change the way we think and behave.Furthermore,Jesus Christ's life and message may certainly help us handle the sensitive situations that may affect our lives on the planet,including the way our organizations and institutions are run as well as our professional careers are approached by inspiring new paths and wisdom behavior.
文摘Addressing the existing gap in ethical research surrounding distinct technical characteristics of Robotic Process Automation enhanced with Artificial Intelligence (AI-RPA), this analysis examines the unique ethical dimensions by positioning AI-RPA as a distinct technological subdivision. From an analytical perspective, this study highlights key characteristics such as minimal reliance on programming, rapid development cycles, and restricted algorithmic control, which differentiate AI-RPA from traditional AI systems. These characteristics underscore the need for tailored ethical considerations, to identify ethical perils within AI-RPA’s technological origins. By positioning AI-RPA as a distinct subdivision and examining its unique characteristics alongside their emerging ethical challenges, this paper enriches the evolving discourse on AI ethics, providing valuable insights for researchers, policymakers, and organizations implementing AI-RPA technologies.

The evidence here presented relates to the incompatibility existing between the total-entropy and the Gibbs energy prescriptions for the reversible path. The previously published proof of the negentropic nature of the transformation of heat into work is here included to validate out conclusions about the Gibbs energy perspective.
文摘Taiwan,a Southeast Asian region,achieved rapid economic growth and the level of economic development it achieved in the 20th century,making it one of the countries and/or regions that created the Asian Miracle in the 1990s.Following the establishment of the People's Republic of China under the leadership of Mao,Chinese Nationalist Party leader Chiang Kai-shek established the Republic of China in Taiwan and established Taipei as its capital.Taiwan's automotive industry began with the establishment of a vehicle manufacturing company in 1953.Starting in the mid-1960s,automotive industry production began to increase,and with the new economic policies of the government from 1985 onwards,rapid production increases in the automotive industry accompanied the high economic growth rates.In addition,Taiwan Region of China automotive companies were able to shift their production to China in order to benefit from the rapid economic growth period in China in the 1980s.Thus,we can say that the rapidly growing Taiwan Region of China automotive industry came into question in the 1990s with all internal and external effects.Focusing on the historical development of the automotive industry is important in order to determine whether the development in the automotive industry is dependent on path.Today,we can say that Taiwan is one of the important automotive manufacturers.However,we can say that it is not one of the leading manufacturers.
文摘The societal risk related to rainfalltriggered rapid debris flows is commonly managed in urbanized areas by means of early warning systems based on monitoring of hydrological parameters(such as rainfall or soil moisture) and thresholds values.In Alpine catchments,this type of landslides is recurrent and represent one of the major geohazards.Debris flows are typically initiated by high-intensity rainstorms,prolonged rainfall with moderate intensity or snow melting.They frequently happen in situations of temporary infiltration into soils that are initially unsaturated.During significant rainfall events,the rise in pore water pressure can become crucial for the stability of slopes in particular areas.This phenomenon relies on hydraulic and geotechnical characteristics,along with the thickness of the involved soils.This procedure can result in a local drop in shear strength,as both apparent cohesion and effective stress decline,while driving forces rise because of the increase in unit weight.Accordingly,this study estimates Intensity-Duration(I-D) rainfall thresholds at the site-specific and distributed scales by combining empirical and physics-based approaches and modeling of soil coverings involved in soil slips or debris slides inducing debris flows.The approach was tested for mountain slopes of the Valtellina valley(Lombardia region,northern Italy),which suffered several catastrophic landslide events in the last decades.The empirical approach was adopted to reconstruct physics-based slope models of representative source areas of past debris flows events.To such a scope,nonpunctual but distributed data of hydro-mechanical soil properties and thicknesses were considered.Thus,to reconstruct the unsaturated/saturated critical conditions leading the slope instability,a combined hydrological modeling and infinite-slope stability analysis was adopted.This combined hydromechanical numerical model was used to attempt to determine a three-dimensional Intensity-Duration threshold for landslide initiation considering plausible rainfall for the Valtellina valley.Due to the lack of reliable records of past landslide hindering a thorough empirical analysis,the presented approach can be considered as a feasible approach for establishing a warning standard in urbanized areas at risk of shallow landslides triggered by rainfall.Moreover,findings highlight the importance of having access to spatially distributed soil characteristics to define and enhance input data for physics-based modelling.Finally,the proposed approach can aid an early warning system for the onset of shallow landslides by utilizing real-time rainfall monitoring or now-casting through a meteorological radar technique.
文摘The strong association between human papillomavirus(HPV)infection and oropharyngeal squamous cell carcinoma(SCC)is well-documented,with p16 expression serving as a reliable predictor of HPV involvement.HPV-related tumors are characterized by distinct mechanisms affecting p16 and p53 protein pathways.However,the prevalence of HPV and the combined predictive utility of p16 and p53 expression in head and neck cutaneous SCC remain less explored,necessitating further research to understand their role in this subset of SCC.HPV,p16,and p53 statuses were determined using immunohistochemistry staining methods rather than more sensitive techniques such as polymerase chain reaction or HPV genotyping,limiting the ability to assess specific area HPV types poten-tially associated with prognosis.Further studies assessing multiple molecular markers in head and neck cutaneous patients will better predict the diverse outcomes and potentially the type of treatment targeted to those markers.

文摘Objectives:Chemotherapy-induced nausea and vomiting(CINV)is a common adverse effect among breast cancer patients,significantly affecting quality of life.Existing evidence on the prevention,assessment,and management of this condition is fragmented and inconsistent.This study constructed a CINV knowledge graph using a large language model(LLM)to integrate nursing and medical evidence,thereby supporting systematic clinical decision-making.Methods:A top-down approach was adopted.1)Knowledge base preparation:Nine databases and eight guideline repositories were searched up to October 2024 to include guidelines,evidence summaries,expert consensuses,and systematic reviews screened by two researchers.2)Schema design:Referring to the Unified Medical Language System,Systematized Nomenclature of Medicine-Clinical Terms,and the Nursing Intervention Classification,entity and relation types were defined to build the ontology schema.3)LLM-based extraction and integration:Using the Qwen model under the CRISPE framework,named entity recognition,relation extraction,disambiguation,and fusion were conducted to generate triples and visualize them in Neo4j.Four expert rounds ensured semantic and logical consistency.Model performance was evaluated using precision,recall,F1-score,and 95%confidence interval(95%CI)in Python 3.11.Result:A total of 47 studies were included(18 guidelines,two expert consensuses,two evidence summaries,and 25 systematic reviews).The Qwen model extracted 273 entities and 289 relations;after expert validation,238 entities and 242 relations were retained,forming 244 triples.The ontology comprised nine entity types and eight relation types.The F1-scores for named entity recognition and relation extraction were 82.97(95%CI:0.820,0.839)and 85.54(95%CI:0.844,0.867),respectively.The average node degree was 2.03,with no isolated nodes.Conclusion:The LLM-based CINV knowledge graph achieved structured integration of nursing and medical evidence,offering a novel,data-driven tool to support clinical nursing decision-making and advance intelligent healthcare.
