TT 106 Paser served as vizier for both Sethos I and Ramesses II. During his service as as Chief Chamberlain for Sethos I at his court, he began the construction of his splendid tomb-chapel (TT 106) in the necropolis of Thebes. His tomb is located in the west of Thebes with the "Tombs of the Nobles" in Sheikh Abd el-Quma, between the Valley of the Kings and the Valley of the Queens behind the Ramesseum. The tomb-chapel of Neferhotep (TT 107) was built at the northern side of a depression in the rock and the tomb of Paser at its west end.展开更多

In JAC 7, an attempt was made to set the role of foreign courts against the wider background of the development of political institutions and practices in the course of the Hellenistic period. In JAC 8 the use of foreign judges by Seleucid subject cities was reconsidered in the light of the revision of an important inscription from Priene. In this third paper, the evolution of the use of foreign courts by Greek cities in the course of the third century will be considered in formal terms through the analysis of a notable series of inscriptions from the island of Kalymna in the Dodecannese group, located off the south-west coast of Asia Minor. In his Corpus of inscriptions from Kalymna (TC), M. Segre collected, in addition to the record of a Knidian arbitration between Kalymna and its Koan private creditors (TC79), five展开更多

Tawfik states that the rare instances of that kind are those in which the dedication is made to one’s ancestors, though the passage he cites from the autobiography of Chnumhotpe II does not conform to that pattern. Vittmann adds Cairo CG 23019, an offering table with two parallel formulae recording a dedication at the staircases of Osiris and Wepwawet at Abydos in exchange for funerary wishes and offerings, and he also includes an example from Meir.展开更多
