文摘China’s lakes are plagued by cadmium(Cd)pollution.Dissolved organic matter(DOM)significantly regulates Cd(II)transport properties at the sediment-water interface.Understanding the effects of different DOM components on the transportation properties of Cd(II)at the sediment-water interface is essential. In this study, typical DOM from different sources was selected to study Cd(II)mobility at the sediment-water interface. Results showed that terrestrial-derived DOM(fulvic acids,FA)and autochthonous-derived DOM(α-amylase,B1)inhibit Cd(II)sequestration by sediments(42.5%and 5.8%,respectively),while anthropogenic-derived DOM(sodium dodecyl benzene sulfonate,SDBS)increased the Cd(II)adsorption capacity by sediments by 2.8%.Fluorescence quenching coupling with parallel factor analysis(EEM-PARAFAC)was used to characterize different DOM components. The results showed that FA contains three kinds of components(C1,C3:protein-like components,C2:humic-like components);SDBS contains two kinds of components(C1,C2:protein-like components);B1 contains three kinds of components(C1,C2:protein-like components,C3:humic-like components).Three complex reaction modelswere used to characterize the ability of Cd(II)complex with DOM,and it was found that the humic-like component could hardly be complex with Cd(II).Accordingly,humic-like components compete for Cd(II)adsorption sites on the sediment surface and inhibit Cd(II)adsorption fromsediments.Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy(FTIR)of the sediment surface before and after Cd(II)addition was analyzed and proved the competitive adsorption theory. This study provides a better understanding of the Cd(II)mobilization behavior at the sediment-water interface and indicates that the input of humic-like DOM will increase the bioavailability of Cd.

文摘Layered double hydroxide(LDH)based heterogonous peroxymonosulfate(PMS)activation degradation of pollutants has attracted extensive attention. The challenge is to selectively regulate the traditional free radical dominant degradation pathway into a nonradical degradation pathway.Herein,an interface ar-chitecture of Ti_(3) C_(2) T_(x)-MXene(MXene)loading on the Fe-Al LDH scaffold was developed, which showed excellent stability and robust resistance against harsh conditions.Significantly, the rate constant for tetra-cycline hydrochloride(TC)degradation in the MXene-LDH/PMS process was 0.421 min^(-1),which was ten times faster than the rate constant for pure Fe-Al LDH(0.042 min^(-1)).Specifically,more reactive Fe with the closer d-band center to the Fermi level results in higher electron transfer efficiency. The occupa-tions of Fe-3d orbitals in Mxene/Fe-Al LDH are pushed above the Fermi level to generate, which results in higher PMS adsorption and inhibition of the release of oxygen-containing active species intermedi-ates,leading to the enhanced^(1)O_(2) generation.Additionally, the built-in electric field in the heterojunc-tion was driven by the charge redistribution between MXene and Fe-Al LDH,resulting in a mediated-electron transfer mechanism, differentiating it from the Fe-Al LDH/PMS system. It was fascinating that MXene/Fe-Al LDH achieved satisfactory treatment efficiency in continuous column reactor and real landfill leachate.

文摘Based on the investigation of mechanical response and microstructure evolution of a commercial 7003 aluminum alloy under high-speed impact,a new simple and effective method was proposed to determine the critical strain required for the nucleation of adiabatic shear band(ASB).The deformation results of cylindrical and hat-shaped samples show that the critical strain required for ASB nucleation corresponds to the strain at the first local minimum after peak stress on the first derivative curve of true stress−true strain. The method of determining the critical strain for the nucleation of ASB through the first derivative of the flow stress curve is named the first derivative method. The proposed first derivative method is not only applicable to the 7003 aluminum alloy, but also to other metal materials, such as commercial purity titanium,WY-100 steel, and AM80 magnesium alloy. This proves that it has strong universality.

文摘The chalcone isomerase gene OsCHI,one of the key genes in the flavonoid biosynthesis pathway, plays an important role in rice(Oryza sativa)resistance to abiotic stresses. This study reveals how the chalcone isomerase gene family member OsCHI3 participates in rice responses to drought stress through the regulation of flavonoid biosynthesis.Overexpression of OsCHI3 increased the tolerance of rice to drought stress. In contrast,CRISPR/Cas9-mediated deletion of OsCHI3 reduced the drought tolerance of rice,an effect that is reversed by exogenous ABA treatment.Transcriptomic and physiological biochemical analyses indicated that flavonoids regulated by OsCHI3 not only scavenge reactive oxygen species(ROS)but also increase drought tolerance in rice by stimulating ABA biosynthesis through the regulation of OsNCED1 and OsABA8ox3 expression. These findings demonstrate that OsCHI3 increases drought stress tolerance in rice by activating the antioxidant defense system and the ABA metabolic pathway, providing new clues for drought-resistant rice breeding research.

文摘Hard carbon (HC) has been considered as promising anode material for sodium-ion batteries (SIBs).The optimization of hard carbon’s microstructure and solid electrolyte interface (SEI) property are demonstrated effective in enhancing the Na+storage capability, however,a one-step regulation strategy to achieve simultaneous multi-scale structures optimization is highly desirable.Herein,we have systematically investigated the effects of boron doping on hard carbon’s microstructure and interface chemistry.A variety of structure characterizations show that appropriate amount of boron doping can increase the size of closed pores via rearrangement of carbon layers with improved graphitization degree, which provides more Na+storage sites.In-situ Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy/electrochemical impedance spectroscopy (FTIR/EIS) and X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy (XPS) analysis demonstrate the presence of more BC3and less B–C–O structures that result in enhanced ion diffusion kinetics and the formation of inorganic rich and robust SEI,which leads to facilitated charge transfer and excellent rate performance. As a result, the hard carbon anode with optimized boron doping content exhibits enhanced rate and cycling performance. In general, this work unravels the critical role of boron doping in optimizing the pore structure, interface chemistry and diffusion kinetics of hard carbon, which enables rational design of sodium-ion battery anode with enhanced Na+storage performance.

文摘Hydrogen energy from electrocatalysis driven by sustainable energy has emerged as a solution against the background of carbon neutrality.Proton exchange membrane(PEM)-based electrocatalytic systems represent a promising technology for hydrogen production, which is equipped to combine efficiently with intermittent electricity from renewable energy sources. In this review,PEM-based electrocatalytic systems for H2 production are summarized systematically from low to high operating temperature systems. When the operating temperature is below 130℃,the representative device is a PEM water electrolyzer;its core components and respective functions, research status, and design strategies of key materials especially in electrocatalysts are presented and discussed. However, strong acidity, highly oxidative operating conditions, and the sluggish kinetics of the anode reaction of PEM water electrolyzers have limited their further development and shifted our attention to higher operating temperature PEM systems.Increasing the temperature of PEM-based electrocatalytic systems can cause an increase in current density, accelerate reaction kinetics and gas transport and reduce the ohmic value, activation losses,ΔGH*,and power consumption. Moreover, further increasing the operating temperature(120-300℃)of PEM-based devices endows various hydrogen carriers(e.g.,methanol,ethanol,and ammonia)with electrolysis, offering a new opportunity to produce hydrogen using PEM-based electrocatalytic systems. Finally, several future directions and prospects for developing PEM-based electrocatalytic systems for H_(2) production are proposed through devoting more efforts to the key components of devices and reduction of costs.

文摘Ischemic stroke is a secondary cause of mortality worldwide, imposing considerable medical and economic burdens on society.Extracellular vesicles, serving as natural nanocarriers for drug delivery, exhibit excellent biocompatibility in vivo and have significant advantages in the management of ischemic stroke. However, the uncertain distribution and rapid clearance of extracellular vesicles impede their delivery efficiency.By utilizing membrane decoration or by encapsulating therapeutic cargo within extracellular vesicles, their delivery efficacy may be greatly improved.Furthermore, previous studies have indicated that microvesicles,a subset of large-sized extracellular vesicles, can transport mitochondria to neighboring cells, thereby aiding in the restoration of mitochondrial function post-ischemic stroke.Small extracellular vesicles have also demonstrated the capability to transfer mitochondrial components, such as proteins or deoxyribonucleic acid,or their sub-components,for extracellular vesicle-based ischemic stroke therapy. In this review,we undertake a comparative analysis of the isolation techniques employed for extracellular vesicles and present an overview of the current dominant extracellular vesicle modification methodologies.Given the complex facets of treating ischemic stroke,we also delineate various extracellular vesicle modification approaches which are suited to different facets of the treatment process. Moreover, given the burgeoning interest in mitochondrial delivery,we delved into the feasibility and existing research findings on the transportation of mitochondrial fractions or intact mitochondria through small extracellular vesicles and microvesicles to offer a fresh perspective on ischemic stroke therapy.

文摘Because of the recent widespread usage of antibiotics, the acquisition and dissemination of antibiotic-resistance genes(ARGs)were prevalent in the majority of habitats.Generally, the biological wastewater treatment processes used in wastewater treatment plants have a limited efficiencies of antibiotics resistant bacteria(ARB)disinfection and ARGs degradation and even promote the proliferation of ARGs.Problematically,ARB and ARGs in effluent pose potential risks if they are not further treated.Photocatalytic oxidation is considered a promising disinfection technology, where the photocatalytic process generates many free radicals that enhance the interaction between light and deoxyribonucleic acid(DNA)for ARB elimination and subsequent degradation of ARGs.This reviewaims to illustrate the progress of photocatalytic oxidation technology for removing antibiotics resistant(AR)from wastewater in recent years. We discuss the sources and transfer of ARGs in wastewater. The overall removal efficiencies of ultraviolet radiation(UV)/chlorination,UV/ozone,UV/H_(2)O_(2),and UV/sulfate-radical based system for ARB and ARGs,as well as the experimental parameters and removal mechanisms, are systematically discussed. The contribution of photocatalytic materials based on TiO_(2) and g-C_(3)N_(4) to the inactivation of ARB and degradation of ARGs is highlighted, producingmany free radicals to attack ARB and ARGs while effectively limiting the horizontal gene transfer(HGT)in wastewater. Finally, based on the reviewed studies, future research directions are proposed to realize specific photocatalytic oxidation technology applications and overcome current challenges.
