The atomic Ti/AI ratios of the nuclei and the distribution of Ti at certain points are analyzed by po...The nucleation and growth of grains in a series of Al-based alloys produced by electrolysis are observed under SEM. The atomic Ti/AI ratios of the nuclei and the distribution of Ti at certain points are analyzed by point EDS. The particles in different atomic Ti/AI ratios might act as the nuclei of α-Al. At the early stage of growth, the spherical Ti-enriched regions might form around these particles within very limited temperature ranges in which the reactions such as the peritectic reactions etc occur. At the latter stage of growth, the dendrites freely develop in the radial orientations, and the concentration of Ti decreases linearly along the dendrite arm and becomes negligible in the region near the periphery of the dendrite. It is believed that the nucleation is closely related with the number and dispersion of primary spherical areas in the melts, and the segregation of Ti leads to the free growth of dendrite, which is necessary for the formation of equiaxial grains.展开更多

Using the cold working to assist in the aging hardening can improve the the hardness and electrical conductivity properties of Cu-Cr-Zr-Mg lead frame alloy. This paper studies the effect of different extent of cold working on the aging properties by a supervised ANN to model the non-linear relationship between processing parameters and the properties. The back-propagation (BP) training algorithm is improved by Levenberg-Marquardt algorithm. A basic repository on the domain knowledge of cold worked aging processes is established via sufficient data mining by the network. The predicted values of the ANN coincide well with the tested data. So an important foundation has been laid for prediction and optimum controlling the rolling and aging properties of Cu-Cr-Zr-Mg alloy.展开更多

After an incubation period strengthening appears which is due to precipitates in the Cu-l.ONi-0.25Si (wt pct)...Age hardening in Cu-3.2Ni-0.75Si (wt pct) and Cu-1.0Ni-0.25Si (wt pct) alloys from 723 to 823 K is studied. After an incubation period strengthening appears which is due to precipitates in the Cu-l.ONi-0.25Si (wt pct) alloy. On other hand an immediate increase of the yield strength characterizes the aging of the alloy. This is followed by the regions of constant yield strength and further by a peak. The microstructure of the alloy was studied by, means of transmission electron microscope (TEM) and X-ray diffraction (XRD). Spinodal decomposition takes place followed by nucleation of the ordering coherent (Cu,Ni)3Si particles, further precipitation annealing coherent δ-Ni2Si nucleated within the (Cu,Ni)3Si particle. Any change of the yield strength can be described by an adequate change of the structure in the sample. The nature of the aging curves with a 'plateau' is discussed. The formulas of Ashby and Labusch can be used to explain the precipitation.展开更多

Optimal conditions for good hardening and electrical conductivity can be obtained by solution treating at 920 °C for Ih and aging at 470^0 for 4h and at 550^ for Ih. The hardness and electrical conductivity can reach 108HV, 73%IACS and 106HV, 76%IACS, respectively. Aging precipitation was dealt with by transmission electronic microscope (TEM). At 470 °C aging for 4h the fine precipitation of an ordered compound CrCu2(Zr,Mg) is found in matrix as well as fine Cr and Cu4Zr. Aging at 550’C for Ih some precipitates are still coherent with matrix. The CrCu2(Zr,Mg) completely dissolves into Cr and Cu4Zr.展开更多

The amount of undissolved ferrite in the steel were 0%,3%,10%,15% and 2...The effect of undissolved ferrite amount in subcritically quenched 42CrMo steel on contact fatigue properties and failure mechanism were studied. The amount of undissolved ferrite in the steel were 0%,3%,10%,15% and 20% in volume fraction, respectively. The experimental results show that the existence of undissolved ferrite can increase the contact fatigue life The contact fatigue life can be prolonged with increasing the amounts of undissolved ferrite The grain size can be fined by using subcritical quenching process and the area of phase boundaries can also be greatly increased. The stress relaxation and grain refinement due to occurring of plastic deformation are main reasons for improving the fatigue life. The existence of undissolved ferrite can increase the crack initiation period. Under the experiment conditions, when the amount of undissolved ferrite is 10%, the longest contact fatigue life can be the obtained.展开更多

The results show that, under the same technology conditions, the thickness of hot-dipped aluminizing layer by adding the appropriate content of rare-earth La is about 2~3 times as much as that without rare-earth La, and the microstructure of hot-dipped aluminizing layer has also greatly changed ,and a great deal of phase Fe3Al was precipitated along the boundary of α phase. Kalman filter is employed to update object model by filtering object kernel-histogram using previous model and cur...In order to solve the model update problem in mean-shift based tracker, a novel mechanism is proposed. Kalman filter is employed to update object model by filtering object kernel-histogram using previous model and current candidate. A self-tuning method is used for adaptively adjust all the parameters of the filters under the analysis of the filtering residuals. In addition, hypothesis testing servers as the criterion for determining whether to accept filtering result. Therefore, the tracker has the ability to handle occlusion so as to avoid over-update. The experimental results show that our method can not only keep up with the object appearance and scale changes but also be robust to occlusion.展开更多
