Different aspects of manoeuvrability and stability are ex...This paper assesses the vehicle dynamics of a new cargo bike concept developed for euro pallet sized cargo. The cargo bike developed is for last-mile delivery. Different aspects of manoeuvrability and stability are examined using a series of manoeuvres based on tests from the automotive industry combined with bicycle industry regulations. These manoeuvres objectively evaluate and determine the handling capabilities of the cargo bike concept. Those tests can be compared using the results of the benchmark vehicles. The results conclude the new cargo bike has proper vehicle dynamics above the majority of benchmark vehicles but there is still room for improvement.展开更多

In the hyperbolic research community,there exists the strong belief that a continuous Galerkin scheme is notoriously unstable and additional stabilization terms have to be added to guarantee stability.In the first par...In the hyperbolic research community,there exists the strong belief that a continuous Galerkin scheme is notoriously unstable and additional stabilization terms have to be added to guarantee stability.In the first part of the series[6],the application of simultaneous approximation terms for linear problems is investigated where the boundary conditions are imposed weakly.By applying this technique,the authors demonstrate that a pure continu-ous Galerkin scheme is indeed linearly stable if the boundary conditions are imposed in the correct way.In this work,we extend this investigation to the nonlinear case and focus on entropy conservation.By switching to entropy variables,we provide an estimation of the boundary operators also for nonlinear problems,that guarantee conservation.In numerical simulations,we verify our theoretical analysis.展开更多

These include the Lax-Friedrichs and Lax-Wendroff numerical schemes. We also mention his collaboration in the 1983 HLL Riemann solver. We de- velop two-dimensional Lax-Friedrichs and Lax-Wendroff schemes for the Lagrangian form of the Euler equations on triangular grids. We apply a composite scheme that uses a Lax- Friedrichs time step as a dissipative filter after several Lax-Wendroff time steps. Numerical results for Noh's infinite strength shock problem, the Sedov blast wave problem, and the Saltzman piston problem are presented.展开更多
