Objective: The purposes of this study were to analyze the influencing factors of self-directed learning readiness(SDLR) of nursing undergraduates and explore the impacts of learning attitude and self-efficacy on nursi...Objective: The purposes of this study were to analyze the influencing factors of self-directed learning readiness(SDLR) of nursing undergraduates and explore the impacts of learning attitude and self-efficacy on nursing undergraduates.Methods: A total of 500 nursing undergraduates were investigated in Tianjin, with the Chinese version of SDLR scale, learning attitude questionnaire of nursing college students, academic self-efficacy scale, and the general information questionnaire.Result: The score of SDLR was 149.99±15.73. Multiple stepwise regressions indicated that academic self-efficacy, learning attitude, attitudes to major of nursing, and level of learning difficulties were major influential factors and explained 48.1% of the variance in SDLR of nursing interns.Conclusions: The score of SDLR of nursing undergraduates is not promising. It is imperative to correct students' learning attitude, improve self-efficacy, and adopt appropriate teaching model to improve SDLR.展开更多

The aim was to evaluate the transversal competences developed by graduates, specialists in nursing with the accompaniment of clinic tutorship. Methods: Qualitative, phenomenological, and interpretative research. The informants were seven graduates from the Unique Program of Nursing Specialties (UPNS), from the National Autonomous University of Mexico (UNAM), one participant from each knowledge field: Nursing in the Elderly, Public Health, Neurology, Physical and Sports Culture, Oncology, and two participants from Adult in Critical Condition. Information collection was through a focal group, and data analysis according to the principles of Souza Minayo. Signed informed consent was obtained previously. Results: Five categories with 24 sub-categories emerged. Category 1, Student’s perception on clinic tutorship specialty. Category 2, Competences promoted by clinic tutorship according to student’s experience. Category 3, Experiences about clinic tutorship planning. Category 4, Challenges faced by the student in the evaluation of clinic tutorship. Category 5, Opportunity fields in clinic tutorship from students’ experiences. Conclusion: Graduate students from the specialties describe transversal competences related with decision taking, collaborative work, and increase of population welfare, as well as generic disciplinary competences. The analogy of a social hinge between the clinic tutor and the student is highlighted, which allows to identify mobile and fixed components while the bolt that binds mentor with mentee is learning, by means of the accompaniment by an expert. .展开更多

This study yielded 3 findings. 1) The mental health of new graduate nurses significantly worsens 3 months after employment as a nurse and mental health 1 year after employment as a nurse was significantly worse than that before employment. 2) A sense of coherence (SOC) is the ability to cope with stressors, and the 3 components of SOC decreased significantly in the year after employment as a nurse. 3) The mental health of new graduate nurses was significantly affected by a low SOC and by previous diminishing of SOC. Findings suggested the importance of support to sustain and improve the mental health of new graduate nurses and the importance of approaches in the workplace to encourage the development of SOC.展开更多
Objective:To describe the status quo of humanistic care ability,the knowledge-attitude-practice of Patient Safety and professional commitment among Undergraduate Nursing Students in clinical practice,and to determine ...Objective:To describe the status quo of humanistic care ability,the knowledge-attitude-practice of Patient Safety and professional commitment among Undergraduate Nursing Students in clinical practice,and to determine the effects of professional commitment and patient safety knowledge-attitude-practice on humanistic care ability.Methods:Two hundred and thirty-two undergraduate nursing students in clinical practice were investigated with the general questionnaire,Caring Ability Inventory(CAI),Patients Safety knowledge-attitude-practice(KAP)Questionnaire and the Nursing Professional Commitment Scale.Results:The score of humanistic care ability of nursing undergraduates was 185.19±20.95,patients safety KAP score was 106.94±11.62,professional commitment score was 74.93±10.44.Undergraduate nursing students’humanistic care ability were positively correlated with professional commitment and patients safety KAP(P<0.05).Multiple Linear regression analysis showed that professional commitment,patient safety KAP entered the humane care equation(F=24.051,P<0.001),and explained 39.1%of the total variation in humane care.Intermediate effect analysis shows that patient safety played a partial mediating role in professional commitment and humane care.Conclusion:The professional commitment and patient safety KAP of undergraduate nursing students were positively related to their humanistic care ability.Improving the professional commitment and knowledge and patients safety KAP of nursing students can strengthen their humanistic care ability to provide high-quality nursing for patients.展开更多

Then, the self-evaluation of the Masters in Nursing Program (PME) is necessary for it to be part of the PNPC. This study focuses on self-evaluation of implementation mechanisms to assure effective communication and collaboration with and among graduated alumni. <strong>Methods:</strong> The research was qualitative, exploratory and descriptive. An informed consent was signed by four informants, graduated from the seventeenth generation of PME. Data collection from a focal group and descriptive data analysis by atlas.ti from guidance questions that were contrasted with the scale value from PME curriculum. <strong>Results:</strong> Four categories emerged from PME graduated alumni: Category <strong>I</strong>, Professional academic performance, Category<strong> II</strong>, International activities attendance, Category <strong>III</strong>, Academic networks, and Category <strong>IV</strong>, Higher satisfaction of international activities.<strong> Conclusions:</strong> It is concluded that self-evaluation shows a graduate’s vision of conditions and networks where PME develops. Higher education institutions invest a significant amount of resources every year to recruit new students.However,higher education administrators have been continuously facing challenges in enrollment management due t...Higher education institutions invest a significant amount of resources every year to recruit new students.However,higher education administrators have been continuously facing challenges in enrollment management due to the demographic shifts,dramatic increases in educational costs,intense competition among institutions,and the uncertain nature of human selection patterns(Baum,Kurose,&McPherson,2013).[3]Today's post-baccalaureate applicants are more knowledgeable than in previous years,because they can access information on a specific graduate program,in a given college,at any time.As reported in numerous studies,the number of graduate students switching out of their universities continues to be an essential issue.A useful prediction model of matriculation that uses available student data is highly desirable to assist the graduate students with timely advising early in their universities.This study was designed to build a predictive model for the probability that a specific admitted graduate student will matriculate.The results indicated that ten predictive variables were statistically significant at the.05 level.Getting an assistantship made the most substantial positive contribution in predicting student matriculation,followed by FAFSA,experience with the university,campus,degree level,college,gender,age,the number of days between application and admission,and distance to the university.This study's results could be beneficial for improving marketing efforts aimed toward individuals with characteristics most likely to enroll.Administrators could calculate the predictive score(or percentage)for each prospective student based on the predictive model.Marketing efforts could then concentrate on those applicants whose predictive score is high and eliminate the low qualifying students from their recruitment plan.展开更多
Background:With the global popularity of short videos,particularly among young people,short video addiction has become a worrying phenomenon that poses significant risks to individual health and adaptability.Self-regu...Background:With the global popularity of short videos,particularly among young people,short video addiction has become a worrying phenomenon that poses significant risks to individual health and adaptability.Self-regulated learning(SRL)strategies are key factors in predicting learning outcomes.This study,based on the SRL theory,uses short video addiction as the independent variable,SRL strategies as the mediating variable,and learning well-being as the outcome variable,aiming to reveal the relationships among short video addiction,self-regulated learning,and learning well-being among Chinese college students.Methods:Using a cross-sectional study design and applying the snowball sampling technique,an online survey was administered to Chinese undergraduate students.A total of 706 valid questionnaires were collected,with an effective response rate of 85.7%.The average age of the participants was 20.5 years.Results:The results of structural equation modeling indicate that 7 hypotheses were supported.Short video addiction was negatively correlated with self-regulated learning strategies(preparatory,performance,and appraisal strategy),while SRL strategies were positively correlated with learning well-being.Additionally,short video addiction had a mediating effect on learning well-being through the three types of SRL strategies.The three types of SRL strategies explained 39%of the variance in learning well-being.Conclusion:Previous research has typically focused on the impact of self-regulated learning strategies on media addiction or problematic media use.This study,based on the SRL model,highlights the negative issues caused by short video addiction and emphasizes the importance of cultivating self-regulation abilities and media literacy.Short video addiction stems from failures in trait self-regulation,which naturally impairs the ability to effectively engage in self-regulation during the learning process.This study confirms and underscores that the SRL model can serve as an effective theoretical framework for helping students prevent short video addiction,engage in high-quality learning,and consequently enhance their learning well-being.展开更多

Methods: To establish TSP training curriculum and SSP training curriculum, 30 experts were invited to finish the questionnaires which were proved by Delphi Method. Findings: We established the training curriculum of TSP and SSP, and set the weight of various curricula and teaching contents. Conclusions: The experts considered that the degree and importance of these two training curricula were comparable. This conclusion lays the foundation for applying these curricula to teaching practice and clinical practice, and enhancing the teaching outcome of undergraduate nursing students. Implications: This study provided a new way of assessing the clinic ability of nursing students.展开更多

The exploration of the way"mass entrepreneurship and innovation"(MEI)education influences students'aspirations to become entrepreneurs has grown into an important area of analysis in studies related to h...The exploration of the way"mass entrepreneurship and innovation"(MEI)education influences students'aspirations to become entrepreneurs has grown into an important area of analysis in studies related to higher education.This research intends to examine the consequences of MEI education on students'tendency towards entrepreneurship,and to put forward methods for augmenting the teaching of innovation and entrepreneurship in private higher educational establishments.To achieve this objective,questionnaires and semi-structured interviews were employed in the study,which involved a total of 197 students and five education experts.The statistical analysis of the questionnaire data revealed that MEI education was positively related to students'entrepreneurial intentions,and that both entrepreneurial experience and family entrepreneurial background played moderating roles in this relationship.The interview findings indicated that private universities could enhance educational reforms by designing talent training programs,developing diversified curricula,and developing more professional entrepreneurial platforms to encourage students'entrepreneurial intentions.This study offers fresh insights for improving and perfecting the mechanism of innovation and entrepreneurship education in private universities.展开更多

Data collection from a focal group and descriptive data analysis by atlas.ti from guidance questions that were contrasted with the scale value from PME curriculum. <strong>Results:</strong> Four categories emerged from PME graduated alumni: Category <strong>I</strong>, Professional academic performance, Category<strong> II</strong>, International activities attendance, Category <strong>III</strong>, Academic networks, and Category <strong>IV</strong>, Higher satisfaction of international activities.<strong> Conclusions:</strong> It is concluded that self-evaluation shows a graduate’s vision of conditions and networks where PME develops. Masters in Nursing Program fulfills graduates expectancy to create networks, which will contribute to knowledge and recognition of professional practice, as well as on the area’ opportunities opening for better contributions.

文摘Based on the theory of collaborative innovation and the triple helix theory combined with the needs for innovative development in the modern manufacturing industry in Guangdong Province,the construction of open bases as education carriers by the governments was explored in terms of implement joint training for postgraduates in engineering through the integration of science-education and industry-education,to improve the practical innovation ability of postgraduates in engineering.The integration training mode has significantly improved the effectiveness of collaborative education and innovation,and it has become an important talent and intellectual support for Guangdong’s modern manufacturing industry.It has further advanced the theory and practice of joint training conducted by governments,industries,universities,and scientific research institutes.

文摘The key to guaranteeing the quality of engineering graduate cultivation lies in establishing a dual mentorship model,involving both,universities and enterprises.By analyzing the existing problems in dual mentorship for engineering graduates,the open base for joint graduate cultivation in Foshan is taken as an example.Under the“2+2”diversified mentoring model constructed for engineering practice cultivation,an open base guarantees the implementation of the diversified mentoring model,while the diversified mentoring model improves the effectiveness of collaborative education between universities and enterprises.Strengthening the qualification examination of collaborative education and reinforcing the academic ability training of enterprise mentors are proposed as strategies for the problems faced in the implementation.

文摘Accelerating the development of students is the basic goal of postgraduate talent cultivation.The final research results,employment situation and satisfaction of postgraduate students with school education are more important indicators of the quality of talent cultivation in a university.For having a deeper understanding of the satisfaction of postgraduates in Harbin Institute of Technology(Weihai)in terms of motivation,tutor situation,management service and employment situation,a questionnaire survey was conducted on postgraduates.The survey results show that the overall satisfaction of postgraduates is high.In terms of studying motivation,most postgraduates think that their majors are more related to employment;in terms of professors,most of them can get along well with their professors and learn from the advantages of their professors;in terms of school management,they respond well to the"library",but think that the"dormitory"and"canteen"need further improvement;in terms of employment,most of postgraduates choose to be employed,while a few of them choose to further their studies,most of which have applied to study in domestic or foreign universities.

文摘Higher education institutions invest a significant amount of resources every year to recruit new students.However,higher education administrators have been continuously facing challenges in enrollment management due to the demographic shifts,dramatic increases in educational costs,intense competition among institutions,and the uncertain nature of human selection patterns(Baum,Kurose,&McPherson,2013).[3]Today's post-baccalaureate applicants are more knowledgeable than in previous years,because they can access information on a specific graduate program,in a given college,at any time.As reported in numerous studies,the number of graduate students switching out of their universities continues to be an essential issue.A useful prediction model of matriculation that uses available student data is highly desirable to assist the graduate students with timely advising early in their universities.This study was designed to build a predictive model for the probability that a specific admitted graduate student will matriculate.The results indicated that ten predictive variables were statistically significant at the.05 level.Getting an assistantship made the most substantial positive contribution in predicting student matriculation,followed by FAFSA,experience with the university,campus,degree level,college,gender,age,the number of days between application and admission,and distance to the university.This study's results could be beneficial for improving marketing efforts aimed toward individuals with characteristics most likely to enroll.Administrators could calculate the predictive score(or percentage)for each prospective student based on the predictive model.Marketing efforts could then concentrate on those applicants whose predictive score is high and eliminate the low qualifying students from their recruitment plan.

文摘Background:With the global popularity of short videos,particularly among young people,short video addiction has become a worrying phenomenon that poses significant risks to individual health and adaptability.Self-regulated learning(SRL)strategies are key factors in predicting learning outcomes.This study,based on the SRL theory,uses short video addiction as the independent variable,SRL strategies as the mediating variable,and learning well-being as the outcome variable,aiming to reveal the relationships among short video addiction,self-regulated learning,and learning well-being among Chinese college students.Methods:Using a cross-sectional study design and applying the snowball sampling technique,an online survey was administered to Chinese undergraduate students.A total of 706 valid questionnaires were collected,with an effective response rate of 85.7%.The average age of the participants was 20.5 years.Results:The results of structural equation modeling indicate that 7 hypotheses were supported.Short video addiction was negatively correlated with self-regulated learning strategies(preparatory,performance,and appraisal strategy),while SRL strategies were positively correlated with learning well-being.Additionally,short video addiction had a mediating effect on learning well-being through the three types of SRL strategies.The three types of SRL strategies explained 39%of the variance in learning well-being.Conclusion:Previous research has typically focused on the impact of self-regulated learning strategies on media addiction or problematic media use.This study,based on the SRL model,highlights the negative issues caused by short video addiction and emphasizes the importance of cultivating self-regulation abilities and media literacy.Short video addiction stems from failures in trait self-regulation,which naturally impairs the ability to effectively engage in self-regulation during the learning process.This study confirms and underscores that the SRL model can serve as an effective theoretical framework for helping students prevent short video addiction,engage in high-quality learning,and consequently enhance their learning well-being.
文摘Objective: The objective of this study is to construct the simulated patient training curriculum for OSCE examination for undergraduate nursing students and to explore the theoretical and practical foundation. Methods: To establish TSP training curriculum and SSP training curriculum, 30 experts were invited to finish the questionnaires which were proved by Delphi Method. Findings: We established the training curriculum of TSP and SSP, and set the weight of various curricula and teaching contents. Conclusions: The experts considered that the degree and importance of these two training curricula were comparable. This conclusion lays the foundation for applying these curricula to teaching practice and clinical practice, and enhancing the teaching outcome of undergraduate nursing students. Implications: This study provided a new way of assessing the clinic ability of nursing students.
文摘Though postgraduate education started before the founding of new China in 1949, it was not until the implementation of the policy reform and the opening-up in 1978 that China＇s postgraduate productivity began to take off. Since the introduction of Regulations of the People＇s Republic of China on Academic Degrees in 1981, the number of graduate students enrolled each year has increased 50 times since 1978. China is now the second largest producer of publications indexed by the database of Science Citation Index （SCI） （Web of ScienceTM, Thomson Reuters）, which reflects great strides being made in the postgraduate education. In this paper, we discuss the relationship between the increasingly high enroll- ments of graduate students and the quantity （the number） and quality （the academic impact and the originality） of their publications, to see whether there is a correlation.
文摘The exploration of the way"mass entrepreneurship and innovation"(MEI)education influences students'aspirations to become entrepreneurs has grown into an important area of analysis in studies related to higher education.This research intends to examine the consequences of MEI education on students'tendency towards entrepreneurship,and to put forward methods for augmenting the teaching of innovation and entrepreneurship in private higher educational establishments.To achieve this objective,questionnaires and semi-structured interviews were employed in the study,which involved a total of 197 students and five education experts.The statistical analysis of the questionnaire data revealed that MEI education was positively related to students'entrepreneurial intentions,and that both entrepreneurial experience and family entrepreneurial background played moderating roles in this relationship.The interview findings indicated that private universities could enhance educational reforms by designing talent training programs,developing diversified curricula,and developing more professional entrepreneurial platforms to encourage students'entrepreneurial intentions.This study offers fresh insights for improving and perfecting the mechanism of innovation and entrepreneurship education in private universities.
