The definition of environmental pollution is becoming increasingly diverse, with accelerating change and exposure to complex mixtures that defy traditional detection-based monitoring approaches. We discuss the current trends in environmental analytical chemistry whereby, rather than targeted quantification,an integrated pollutant assessment, which upholds chemical discovery, interpretability, and real-world relevance,is desired. We initially explain the conceptual change between preset sets of analytes to the chemical space exploration made possible by exploring the chemical space using high-resolution mass spectrometry, multidimensional separations, and rapid/direct analysis technologies. We next mention how the new classes of contaminants and transformation products,as well as the complexity of mixtures, reveal the long-standing gaps in sensitivity, selectivity, and confidence of the identification, especially in the non-targeted workflows. In response to such limitations,we now mention changes that combine chemical measurement with biological and data-informed aspects, such as effect-based assays,exposure-oriented metrics, chemometrics, and machine learning feature prioritization and structure annotation. We also look at the transformation of higher orders of analytical products into clean-up programs and decision programs, which should focus on continuous and in-place sensing, tiered monitoring designs, and risk-based prioritization plans that more closely reflect the changing realities of the environment.Lastly,we determine future research requirements in harmonization, open data infrastructure, and reproducibility, and the development of autonomous and intelligent analytical systems that can perform adaptive monitoring and provide insights quickly. All these changing frontiers transform environmental analysis into a detection instrument into an actionable environmental intelligence that can be used to proactively manage and protect the ecosystems and human health. 展开更多

This paper is based on the analysis and research on the silver-lead-zinc polymetallic ore in New Ballyhoo Banner in southern Manzhouli of Inner Mongolia.Because metal mineralization brings rock formations, the geophysical features such as low resistivity, high polarization rate and uneven distribution of magnetization, the comprehensive geophysical methods are adopted including high-precision magnetic measurement,high-power induced polarization,IP field middle gradient and controlled source audio-frequency magnetotellurics. In the survey work of multi-metal ore deposits, from surface sweeping to single point measurement, and from single point to section going deeper layer by layer, the resolution of measurement is continuously improved, and various geophysical methods support and complement each other,so explorers can successfully predict the direction, scale and volume of the metallogenic belts in conjunction with geochemical exploration, geological survey and drilling. It has provided a strong basis for completing the exploration task of predicting the reserve volume of ore bodies. The research conclusions of this exploration case have thus a high reference value in the same type of exploration work. 展开更多

The Shuangwang Au deposit in the western Qinling Orogen is hosted by a WNW-ESE-trending breccia belt that is structurally controlled by the northern limb of the Yindonggou fold.Igneous rocks area in the deposit are part of the Xiba pluton, which comprises granodiorite and monzogranite that contains mafic microgranular envlaves(MMEs),and later mineralized granitic porphyry dikes. The mineralized granitic porphyry dikes were controlled by the same structures that controlled the ore bodies.Zircon LA-ICP-MS U-Pb dating yields ages of 220.0±1.9 Ma for the granodiorite, and 217.9±1.9 Ma for the granitic porphyry, which is consistent with the mineralization ages reported in previous studies(220-218 Ma).Together with the similarity of alteration mineral assemblages between ore and mineralized granitic porphyry,we suggest that the mineralization was controlled by structure and Xiba pluton. The geochemical data show that the granodiorite and granitic porphyry are subalkaline and the MMEs are alkaline in composition. All samples have similar chondrite-normalized rare earth element patterns with enrichment of light rare earth elements. The granodiorite and MMEs are depleted in Nb,Ta,Sr,P,and Ti and enriched in U,K,Pb,Zr,and Hf.The granitic porphyry is enriched in large-ion lithophile elements but depleted in high-field-strength elements. The granodiorite and MMEs have low whole-rockεNd(t)values(−10.90 to−2.32)and(^(87)Sr/^(86)Sr)i ratios(0.7000-0.7285),similar to coeval Triassic granites in the western Qinling Orogen.The(^(87)Sr/^(86)Sr)i ratios of the granitic porphyry have been affected by fluid metasomatism that results in higher(^(87)Sr/^(86)Sr)i values. The geochronological, geochemical, and isotopic evidence suggest that the Xiba pluton formed by partial melting of thickened lower crust that had been intruded by alkaline mafic magma,as documented by the MMEs,which were derived from a source metasomatized by subduction-related fluids. The granodioritic and granitic porphyry magmas were relatively oxidized(fayalite-magnetite-quartz[FMQ]to magnetite-hematite(MH)buffer conditions;zircon Ce^(4+)/Ce^(3+)=72-813;log(fO_(2))=−22 to−8).We propose that magma mixing between lower crust and mantle-derived mafic magma was triggered by the tectonic transition from a collisional to post-collision setting, which provided the metals,S,fluids, and increase in magma oxygen fugacity that enabled the formation of the Shuangwang Au deposit.Since the Late Triassic, the western Qinling Orogen evolved from a syn-collisional compressional to post-collisional extensional environment. The mineralization of the Shuangwang Au deposit involved early formation of a tectonic breccia in the compressional stage.Subsequently, hydrothermal fluids derived from a magma ascended, migrated, mixed, and precipitated ores in the tectonic breccia during the later extensional stage to form the Shuangwang Au deposit. 展开更多

Engineering construction actively occurs in coastal zones, and these areas have numerous potential geological hazard factors. Since 2009, the development of geological surveys in sea areas has promoted extensive geophysical surveys in Qingdao offshore. In the present study, the types and distribution of potential geological hazard factors were systematically revealed using sub-bottom profile data, side-scan sonar data, and single-channel seismic data, among others. Based on previous research findings, the potential geological hazard factors are classified, and control factors in Qingdao offshore are discussed. The research results show that the primary potential geological hazards include active faults, buried paleo channels, shallow gas, irregular bedrock, eroded gullies, estuary deltas, tidal sand ridges, and seawater intrusion. In addition, neotectonic movement, sea level changes and sedimentary dynamic processes were the main factors that affected the distribution of geological hazards in Qingdao offshore. 展开更多
