Ancient Chinese medical theories advocate forging a narrative bond with patients, urging healthcare practitioners to utilize Dao Shu Jie He(道术结合 integration of Dao and techniques) and Yi Dao Yu Shu(以道驭术 guiding techniques with Dao) during diagnosis, treatment, and rehabilitation. In this context, Dao(道) in traditional Chinese medicine(TCM) corresponds to narrative thinking(叙事思维) while Shu(术) aligns with scientific thinking(科学思维) in evidence-based medicine. This study adopts “narrative Chinese medicine” within the “discourse system of Chinese narrative medicine” as its framework, centering on medical stories that exemplify the application of narrative thinking in ancient Chinese diagnosis and treatment. It delves into the narrative thinking encapsulated in Chinese medicine, such as Guan Wu Qu Xiang(观物取象 observing things and extracting information), Can He Er Xing(参合而行 final examination and decision by integrating the four diagnoses), Xing Shen Bing Zhi(形神并治 body-spirit treatment), Xin Shen Jian Li(心身兼理 mind-body balance) and Bian Zheng Lun Zhi(辨证论治 treatment based on pattern differentiation). The study endeavors to inspire contemporary medical educators and clinicians to acknowledge the value of narrative thinking in TCM and fully incorporate it into daily medical practice.展开更多

This study looks at how professional interpreters handle linguistic uncertainty in English-Chinese sight translation, with a focus on the strategies they use. By analyzing transcription data alongside instructor evaluations, we found that interpreters relied most on creative interpretation and omission, while strategies like paraphrasing, simplification, transformation, addition, and generalization appeared less often. The results show a clear preference for strategies that keep communication flowing without adding unnecessary cognitive load. These findings support the Processing Economy Hypothesis, which suggests interpreters naturally seek efficient ways to process language while maintaining meaning. The study also highlights practical implications for interpreter training, emphasizing the value of flexible, economy-oriented strategies to help interpreters stay fluent under pressure.展开更多

The gov- erning equations of the piezoelasticity problem for 1D QCs including monoclinic QCs, orthorhombic QCs, tetragonal QCs, and hexagonal QCs are deduced rigorously. The general solutions of the piezoelasticity problem for these QCs are derived by the opera- tor method and the complex variable function method. As an application, an antiplane crack problem is further considered by the semi-inverse method, and the closed-form so- lutions of the phonon, phason, and electric fields near the crack tip are obtained. The path-independent integral derived from the conservation integral equals the energy release rate.展开更多

文摘Social development puts forward higher requirements for students’English application ability and cultural literacy. This study proposes an innovative“3+2+1”blended teaching model integrating the production-oriented approach(POA)to address key challenges in college English cultural courses at application-oriented universities. The model combines three phases(pre-class,in-class,and post-class),two dimensions(online resources and offline interaction),and one overarching goal(all-round education).Through experimental implementation at three universities, results demonstrated significant improvements in student satisfaction, autonomous learning engagement, and crosscultural competence. This research provides a replicable template for enhancing both linguistic proficiency and cultural confidence in EFL contexts.

文摘Interpreting is a fast-paced activity where interpreters must make quick choices when faced with uncertainty. The study also highlights practical implications for interpreter training, emphasizing the value of flexible, economy-oriented strategies to help interpreters stay fluent under pressure.

文摘The paper aims to examine the application of multimedia technology in expanding vocabulary in second language acquisition.Incorporating innovative technology such as mobile applications, gaming applications, websites, and other related online tools has increased learners’vocabulary mastery, engagement, and motivation levels.Interactional processes like media-embedded objects,teach-learning capacity algorithms, and feedback help learners receive the course in a personalized way that considers individual learning patterns or abilities. However, there are the following challenges:accessibility issues, total reliance on technology, and issues related to privacy. The following challenges affecting learning that arise from using gadgets:the digital divide, limited device access, and environmental issues that may distract a learner in a technology-enabled environment. Moreover, the security issue for data and the ethical question of users’information remain important too.Hence, the paper provides arguments that although these technologies contribute significantly to vocabulary acquisition, the challenge that emerges should be addressed by integrating technology in teaching and learning alongside conventional methods for vocabulary acquisition, which is a practical language acquisition tool that should not be monopolized.
文摘Most fish exhibit remarkable morphological diversity, which is often influenced by genetic variation and ecological pressures.Consequently, these are the outcomes of organisms’responses to their environment.Meanwhile, modern morphometrics can quantify shape variation within species of the same group. This study aims to determine the body shape variation of Glossogobius giuris from Lake Mainit,Agusan Del Norte,Philippines.60 adult,uniform-sized fish samples were collected and subjected to standardized laboratory procedures.Further, the samples were digitized for 16 homologous landmark points and loaded into Symmetry Asymmetry Geometric Data(SAGE)Software.Across the tested factors—individuals, sides, and individual x sides—result shows that shape variations among individuals were highly significant(F=2.1045,p<0.0001),along with among males(F=3.2711,p<0.0001).Females exhibited higher Fluctuating Asymmetry(FA)(F=18.99,p<0.0001)compared to males(F=7.0964,p<0.0001).It suggests morphological shape differences across the sexes, and the shape variation observed could be a response to environmental perturbations.Shape variations were associated with swimming, food hunting, and predator defense. Moreover,Principal Component Analysis(PCA)demonstrates higher scores of FA in females(81.96%)than in males(74.76%).It was noticed that females had a high fluctuating asymmetry. It might be due to various physiological and ecological pressures compared to males. The observed levels of directional and fluctuating asymmetry in males and females, respectively, may indicate sex-linked morphological and developmental processes, which are important to consider in ecological or evolutionary contexts. Thus, utilizing geometric morphometrics can depict subtle differences across the same populations.

文摘Based upon the thiophene-2,5-dicarboxylic acid(H_(2)Tdc),a novel[Sc_(3)(μ_(2)-OH)_(3)(CO_(2))_(4)O_(6)]n inorganic chain-based Sc-MOF with decorated nitrate ions,{[Sc_(3)(OH)_(2)(Tdc)_(3)(NO_(3))]⋅H_(2)O}_(∞)(AEU-1;AEU for Army Engineering University of PLA),was synthesized, which shows good water and chemical stabilities.Significantly, due to channel constriction accompanied by the polar window caused by introducing nitrate ions,AEU-1 exhibits high C_(2)H_(6)/C_(2)H_(4)adsorption selectivity comparable to many famous C_(2)H_(6)-selective MOFs,making it a promising candidate for the purification of methanol-to-olefin(MTO)products.Furthermore,theoretical investigations reveal that the introduced nitrate ions in AEU-1 as the main adsorption sites could provide strong interactions between the framework and C2H6/C3H6 in the full-contacting mode, leading to an increase in the adsorption enthalpies(Qst)of C_(2)H_(6)and C_(3)H_(6),and thus further improving the C_(2)H_(6)/C_(2)H_(4)and C_(3)H_(6)/C_(2)H_(4)adsorption selectivity. Our work could open up a new avenue for constructing MOFs with inorganic polar moieties as adsorption sites for one-step C_(2)H_(4)purification and C3H6 recovery from MTO mixtures with high selectivity.
文摘The initial boundary value problem for a viscoelastic equation | u t | ρ u tt △u-△u tt + t 0 g(ts)△u(s)ds + | u t | m u t = | u | p u in a bounded domain is considered, where ρ, m, p 〉 0 and g is a nonnegative and decaying function. The general uniform decay of solution energy is discussed under some conditions on the relaxation function g and the initial data by adopting the method of [14, 15, 19]. This work generalizes and improves earlier results in the literature.

文摘Based on the fundamental equations of piezoelasticity of quasicrystals (QCs), with the symmetry operations of point groups, the plane piezoelasticity theory of one- dimensional (1D) QCs with all point groups is investigated systematically. The path-independent integral derived from the conservation integral equals the energy release rate.
文摘A viscoelastic equation with Balakrishnan-Taylor damping and nonlinear boundary/interior sources is considered in a bounded domain. Under appropriate assumptions ira- posed on the source and the damping, we establish uniform decay rate of the solution energy in terms of the behavior of the nonlinear feedback and the relaxation function, without setting any restrictive growth assumptions on the damping at the origin and weakening the usual assumptions on the relaxation function.

文摘A new class of generalized mixed implicit quasi-equilibrium problems (GMIQEP) with four-functions is introduced and studied. The new class of equilibrium problems includes many known generalized equilibrium problems and generalized mixed implicit quasi-variational inequality problems as many special cases. By employing the auxiliary principle technique, some predictor-corrector iterative algorithms for solving the GMIQEP are suggested and analyzed. The convergence of the suggested algorithm only requires the continuity and the partially relaxed implicit strong monotonicity of the mappings

文摘Obstructive sleep apnea-hypopnea syndrome(OSAHS)significantly impairs children's growth and cognition. This study aims to elucidate the pathophysiological mechanisms underlying OSAHS in children, with a particular focus on the alterations in cortical information interaction during respiratory events. We analyzed sleep electroencephalography before, during, and after events, utilizing Symbolic Transfer Entropy(STE)for brain network construction and information flow assessment. The results showed a significant increase in STE after events in specific frequency bands during N2 and rapid eye movement(REM)stages, along with increased STE during N3 stage events. Moreover,a noteworthy rise in the information flow imbalance within and between hemispheres was found after events, displaying unique patterns in central sleep apnea and hypopnea.Importantly, some of these alterations were correlated with symptom severity. These findings highlight significant changes in brain region coordination and communication during respiratory events, offering novel insights into OSAHS pathophysiology in children.
