In the multi-cultural era,cultural differences,or even cultural gaps are everywhere,so it is important for us to deal with the relation between different cultures properly. As far as C hinese culture and French culture is concerned,there are also similarities and differences,the latter of which reflects the differences existing in the two different ideological systems having formed through thousands of years.In order to bridge cultural gaps,scholars both at home and abroad research different cultures and get different cross-cultural theories,one of which is the cultural dimension theory put forward by the Dutch scholar Hofstede. Based on such a theory,this paper attempts to make clear the root cause of the differences between C hinese culture and French culture so that people of the two cultures can have a better understanding of each other and can communicate fluently with each other and cultural conflicts will thus reduce and there will be more political,economic and cultural communication between the two cultures.展开更多
