Target tracking has a wide range of applications in intelligent transportation,real‐time monitoring,human‐computer interaction and other aspects.However,in the tracking process,the target is prone to deformation,occ...Target tracking has a wide range of applications in intelligent transportation,real‐time monitoring,human‐computer interaction and other aspects.However,in the tracking process,the target is prone to deformation,occlusion,loss,scale variation,background clutter,illumination variation,etc.,which bring great challenges to realize accurate and real‐time tracking.Tracking based on Siamese networks promotes the application of deep learning in the field of target tracking,ensuring both accuracy and real‐time performance.However,due to its offline training,it is difficult to deal with the fast motion,serious occlusion,loss and deformation of the target during tracking.Therefore,it is very helpful to improve the performance of the Siamese networks by learning new features of the target quickly and updating the target position in time online.The broad learning system(BLS)has a simple network structure,high learning efficiency,and strong feature learning ability.Aiming at the problems of Siamese networks and the characteristics of BLS,a target tracking method based on BLS is proposed.The method combines offline training with fast online learning of new features,which not only adopts the powerful feature representation ability of deep learning,but also skillfully uses the BLS for re‐learning and re‐detection.The broad re‐learning information is used for re‐detection when the target tracking appears serious occlusion and so on,so as to change the selection of the Siamese networks search area,solve the problem that the search range cannot meet the fast motion of the target,and improve the adaptability.Experimental results show that the proposed method achieves good results on three challenging datasets and improves the performance of the basic algorithm in difficult scenarios.展开更多
Research on damage stability and unsinkability is a valuable source of knowledge of behaving a ship while flooding its compartments. The time when compartment is flooded (ty) and stability parameters are key element...Research on damage stability and unsinkability is a valuable source of knowledge of behaving a ship while flooding its compartments. The time when compartment is flooded (ty) and stability parameters are key elements which have influence on a rescue action. The knowledge of the time mentioned is very important for a commanding officer to make decisions while fighting for survival of the ship. Therefore, the purpose of research was to develop a method to accurately and quickly calculate the flooding time of selected ship compartment. To provide the information about the time ty, a new method was designed. This method was based on an accurate determination of the amount of water entering to the compartment. For this purpose, the permeability depends on the water level in the compartment. Next, the computer program was built for both the time tfcalculation and showing the flooding process. This method was tested experimentally and the results of the tests are presented in the paper. In the next part of research, which was carried out on the laboratory stand bed, the flooding time of damaged compartment of warship model was measured. The results of calculation are compared to the experiments and discussed.展开更多
The purpose of the paper is to outline the parameters of a LCC (linguistically centered concept) of developing ME (maritime English) teaching materials for non-native learners who are beginning their maritime acad...The purpose of the paper is to outline the parameters of a LCC (linguistically centered concept) of developing ME (maritime English) teaching materials for non-native learners who are beginning their maritime academic career. The paper introduces initial notions on applying linguistic criteria as the basic ones in the process of creating ME textbooks. Through the historical development and under the influence of extra linguistic factors (globalization of the shipping industry, in particular), ME has accumulated and stored various resources being in current use: vocabulary, grammar and phonology, operational and semiotic systems, specific means of communication, functional models, patterns of narration and description, etc.. The proper linguistic analysis makes a secure foundation for methodology which can guarantee a better quality of ME course books for the 1st and 2nd year maritime students all over the world.展开更多

However, it has been agreed that learning is not only an exercise in reading and reciting facts, but in gaining a deeper insight of events and situations. We investigate the formation distance(R0)from the center of the radioactive parent nucleus at which the emitted cluster is most probably formed.The calculations are performed microscopically starting with the solution...We investigate the formation distance(R0)from the center of the radioactive parent nucleus at which the emitted cluster is most probably formed.The calculations are performed microscopically starting with the solution to the time-independent Schr?dinger wave equation for the cluster-core system,using nuclear potentials based on the Skyrme-SLy4 nucleon-nucleon interactions and folding Coulomb potential,to determine the incident and transmitted wave functions of the system.Our results show that the emitted cluster is mostly formed in the pre-surface region of the nucleus,under the effect of Pauli blocking from the saturated core density.The deeperα-formation distance inside the nucleus allows less preformation probability and indicates a more stable nucleus for a longer half-life.Furthermore,theα-particle tends to be formed at a slightly deeper region inside the nuclei,with larger isospin asymmetry,and in the closed shell nuclei.Regarding the heavy clusters,we observed that the formation distance of the emitted clusters heavier thanα-particle increased via increasing the isospin asymmetry of the formed cluster rather than by increasing its mass number.The partial half-life of a certain cluster-decay mode increased with increase of either the mass number or the isospin asymmetry of the emitted cluster.展开更多
