文摘Activation of neutrophil membrane receptors initiates intracellular signal transduction cascades that orchestrate the cell's effector functions, including phagocytosis, production of reactive oxygen and halogen species, degranulation, and NETosis(formation of neutrophil extracellular traps[NETs]).NETs,which contain antimicrobial compounds such as myeloperoxidase(MPO),represent a strategy to combat infection. However, excessive production of NETs promotes thrombosis, diabetes mellitus, and other diseases. Therefore, investigations into the mechanisms of NETosis and the identification of modulators of this process are critical for developing strategies to address NETosis-related disorders. Here,we identified a novel NETosis inducer, human serum albumin(HSA)modified by the MPO product hypochlorous acid(HSAHOCl),whose accumulation in vivo was correlated with inflammatory processes.Using human blood neutrophils,we investigated HSAHOCl-induced NETosis and detected NET formation by flow cytometry. The results showed that the mechanism of HSAHOClinduced NETosis involved MPO,NADPH oxidase, and phosphatidylinositol 3-kinases(PI3Ks),and that HSAHOCl activated a reactive oxygen species-dependent suicidal type of NETosis.Moreover,HSAHOCl-induced NETosis was inhibited by an anti-HSAHOCl monoclonal antibody. Thus, our findings may facilitate the development of strategies to modulate NETosis in inflammation associated with elevated MPO activity.

文摘Background:Insufficient physical activity and prolonged sedentary behavior have emerged as major global public health challenges.Short bouts(≤10 min)of accumulated exercise(SBAE)throughout the day may be a promising strategy to mitigate the adverse effects of prolonged sitting and promote physical activity, ultimately promoting overall health. However, previous ambiguity in defining this concept has resulted in a fragmented and inconsistent evidence base, impeding practical applications, the development of guidelines, and policymaking. The purpose of this study is to establish an operational definition of SBAE by synthesizing systematic reviews and research trials alongside an expert consensus.Additionally,it seeks to evaluate acute and long-term efficacy and feasibility, providing evidence-based recommendations for practice and future research directions. Methods:A literature search was performed across PubMed and Web of Science, followed by systematic screening and summarization of eligible studies based on predefined inclusion criteria.Inclusion criteria encompassed various modes/types of SBAE(bouts lasting≤10 min, performed multiple times daily with≥30 min intervals);both aerobic and resistance exercise were considered.Relevant systematic reviews and research trials were included.Methodological quality, risk of bias, and evidence certainty were assessed.Expert consensus was obtained through a survey to evaluate recommendations and agreement levels on findings. Results:After analyzing 27 systematic reviews,135 research studies, and an expert consensus involving 48 researchers from 11 countries,SBAE is defined as any exercise mode of activity, regardless of intensity, that is accumulated in either continuous or intermittent bouts lasting≤10 min per session(including multiple intermittent sets)that are performed multiple times(≥2 sessions/day)per day, with intervals of≥30 min between bouts or otherwise sufficient time for recovery. When used to interrupt prolonged periods of sedentary time,SBAE mitigates the acute adverse effects of sedentary behavior on more than 10 clinical biomarkers of endocrine, cardiovascular, and brain health/function among adults of diverse ages and conditions. Moreover,SBAE was superior for improving acute glycemic control compared to a single continuous exercise session. As a long-term intervention(average of 11 weeks),SBAE can improve over 20 health outcomes, including peak oxygen uptake, resting blood pressure, and metabolic health.Additionally,SBAE might be more effective than continuous exercise for improving longer-term glycemic control and body composition.Long-term completion rates for SBAE interventions are generally high(95%),with low dropout rates(12%)and high adherence rates even without supervision(85%),and its safety has been preliminarily validated. Conclusion:An operational definition of SBAE is provided along with its classification and acute and long-term efficacy.Practical exercise prescription recommendations and evidence-based strategies for various populations and contexts are provided.Future research should focus on generating high-quality evidence for SBAE in 5 key areas:quantification and monitoring,population-specific responses, optimization of exercise prescriptions, intervention efficacy, and practical implementation.Additionally, addressing policy, environmental, and promotional barriers is crucial for transitioning from expert consensus to public consensus, and for facilitating the application of this strategy in real-world environments.

文摘Zinc-ion supercapacitors(ZISCs)have received considerable interest for energy storage because of their low cost, high safety, and minimal environmental impact. However, they have a low energy density and poor cycling performance. The design of a better cathode material is needed to overcome these limitations.A simple method was used to synthesize binder-free electrochemically exfoliated carbon paper(EECP)which modifies the surface of the paper by introducing oxygen functional groups and thus improves its pseudocapacitance. When used in a Zn-ion supercapacitor(ZISC),an EECPbased cathode provides a large surface area and quick charge transfer. As a result, the ZISC had remarkable charge storage properties and had a dominant capacitive-type charge storage mechanism with 78.8%retention of capacity at 10 mV/s of the total storage.Furthermore,at 1 A/g,the EECP electrode had a maximum capacitance of 252.5 F/g.The EECP electrode retained 81.7%of its capacitance after 10000 cycles, indicating its promise for use in the growing renewable energy sector.A ZISC was also constructed using EECP as the positive electrode and Zn as the negative electrode with a 1 mol L^(−1) ZnSO_(4) electrolyte. It had a capacitance of 186.22 F/g at 1 A/g and a 97.01%retention rate after 10000 cycles. It also had an excellent energy density of 46.6 Wh/kg at a power density of 500.4 W/kg.The material is therefore suitable for use in high-rate next-generation ZISCs.

文摘BACKGROUND Many conditions may affect left ventricular(LV)phenotypes which have been classified according to LV mass and geometry. There is limited data on the prognostic value of LV phenotypes classified by cardiac magnetic resonance(CMR).This study aimed to determine the prognostic value of LV phenotypes in elderly and non-elderly patients with known or suspected coronary artery disease.METHODS This is a retrospective cohort study among patients who underwent stress or viability CMR.LV phenotypes were classified according to the LV mass index, the LV end-diastolic volume index and the LV mass/volume ratio, into normal, concentric remodeling, concentric hypertrophy, and eccentric hypertrophy. The primary outcome was a composite of death or heart failure.RESULTS A total of 3289 patients was studied. The average age was 68.0±12.7 years,52.2%of patients were women.Elderly were defined as age≥65 years accounting for 63.9%of the cohort.LV phenotypes were normal, concentric remodeling, concentric hypertrophy, and eccentric hypertrophy at 74.5%,5.8%,9.2%,and 10.5%,respectively.The median duration of follow-up was 41.4 months. The composite outcome of death or heart failure occurred in 7.3%of patients. The prognostic impact of LV phenotypes was more pronounced in the elderly, with eccentric hypertrophy showing the worst prognosis, followed by concentric hypertrophy and concentric remodeling with the adjusted hazard ratio(95%CI)of 2.37(1.72–3.25),1.53(1.12–2.08),and 1.14(0.76–1.71),respectively,compared to normal phenotype.Patients with eccentric hypertrophy also demonstrated abnormal global longitudinal LV strain, left atrial strain, and extracellular volume fraction.CONCLUSIONS LV phenotypes by CMR independently predict adverse clinical outcomes in elderly patients with known or suspected coronary artery disease. In non-elderly patients, the prognostic value of LV phenotypes was less evident.Assessment of LV phenotypes may be useful for risk stratification.
文摘Springs are vital freshwater sources for rural communities, yet they are increasingly threatened by nutrient enrichment, microbial contamination, and declining ecological integrity. This study assessed the water quality of Sumber Suko Spring in East Java,Indonesia, through an integrated ecological approach combining physicochemical, microbiological, biological, and hydrological parameters across wet and dry seasons.Physicochemical results showed stable temperature(24.1–26.7°C),near-neutral pH(6.4–6.9),and adequate dissolved oxygen(6.2–7.4 mg/L).However,nitrate concentrations were elevated(39.37–48.16 mg/L),exceeding natural background levels and indicating agricultural leaching, while phosphate values ranged between 0.12–0.21 mg/L.Microbial analysis revealed high total coliform counts(24 CFU/100mL),far above WHO standards, although E.coli was not detected.Plankton analysis identified 10 genera, with Microcystis aeruginosa dominating, particularly in the dry season, signaling risks of eutrophication.Shannon-Wiener diversity indices(H’)ranged from 1.25 to 1.67,with evenness values between 0.43 and 0.56,reflecting low-to-moderate community stability.Hydrological measurements showed seasonal discharge fluctuations from 14.6 L/s in the wet season to 7.8 L/s in the dry season, strongly correlated with rainfall.Overall, the integration of nutrient enrichment, coliform contamination, and cyanobacterial dominance indicates that Sumber Suko Spring is under ecological stress and does not meet drinking water standards without treatment. The findings highlight the urgent need for source protection, disinfection, and continuous monitoring within a water safety plan framework. This study provides evidence-based insights to support local policy alignment with WHO guidelines and emphasizes the importance of community participation in sustaining spring ecosystems for long-term water security.
文摘Received:06 December 2025;Accepted:25 February 2026;Published:30 March 2026 ABSTRACT:In the last decade, the importance of sustainable construction and artificial intelligence(AI)in civil engineering has been underlined in many studies.Numerous studies highlighted the superiority of AI techniques over simple and mathematical regression analyses, which suffer from relatively poor generalization and an inability to capture highly non-linear relationships among inputs and output(s)parameters. In this study,to evaluate the compressive strength of concrete with glass powder(GP)and recycled aggregates,600 concrete samples were tested in the laboratory, and their results were evaluated. For intelligent assessment of concrete compressive strength(CCS),the study utilized an improved artificial neural network(ANN)with particle swarm optimization(PSO)algorithm and imperialist competitive algorithm(ICA).For training the models, the experimentally obtained data were used. The concrete ingredients formed the inputs of the AI-based predictive models of CCS.The experimental findings reveal that the implementation of recycled coarse aggregates in concrete from a sustainable construction point of view is advantageous and can enhance the CCS by 11.43%.Apart from that, findings indicate that utilization of 10%GP can lead to a nearly 20%increase in CCS(from 44.6 to 54.1 MPa).Additionally, the experimental observations show almost 40%improvement of CCS when 5%micro silica was used in the concrete mixture.Based on the findings, the study suggests the utilization of waste glass powder to partially replace cement in concrete, which can reduce the amount of cement production. This reduction from economic,energy-saving,and environmental(reduction in greenhouse gas emissions)points of view is of interest. On the other hand, the AI results show that the PSO-based ANN model outperforms the ICA-based ANN for the utilized dataset.According to the findings, the PSO-based ANN predictive model(with a coefficient of determination value of 0.939 and root mean square value of 0.113 for testing data)is a capable tool in predicting the CCS.Hence, this study recommends the implementation of AI-based models in CCS assessment.

文摘The Phewa watershed is under constant landslide threat because of its complicated topography, climate, and biology. The floral structure of landslide-prone areas possesses a significant impact on determining the ecological processes involved in slope stabilization.Plant roots, for example, serve as physical anchors in the soil, enhancing slope stability. Therefore, this study aims to determine appropriate plant species that can enhance soil stability in Phewa Watershed by examining their floral structure in landslide areas.Floral diversity was assessed throughout field visits.Ten of the 46 landslides were selected with 15 plots based on aspect, watershed zones, and normalized difference vegetation index(NDVI)value.Six plant species were selected to evaluate root traits, uprooting force, and cellulosic testing based on their Important Value Index(IVI)value, native characteristics, and regeneration. The uprooting force was calculated using a‘winch’with a force transducer, while the root characteristics were measured manually and using‘ImageJ software’.Results show that 319 species from 92 families are registered in the buffer zones and landslide scars, and the NDVI suggest that vegetation covers more than 49%of the landslide areas. The floral composition of the landslides in the 15 plots contains 140 species from 52 families, with Poaceae dominating. In six plant species, the Ochiai index suggests a significant level of association. The uprooting force is correlated to the root diameter and number but is insignificant in terms of root length and area.Saccharum spontaneum is the best option for landslide stability based on uprooting force(882.63±245.175)N,cellulose content(67.038±4.766)%and root number characteristic(69.333±24.338)whereas Themeda arundinacea is preferred due to its root diameter traits(0.054±0.022)cm.Finally,it emphasizes the significance of selecting key species in lowering the risk of landslides, strengthening soil stability, and building resilient ecosystems in susceptible watershed areas.

文摘The Toraja Highlands, encompassing Tana Toraja and North Toraja, form the strategic upper reaches of the Saddang Watershed in South Sulawesi, where steep terrain, active land-cover change, and high ecological sensitivity converge. This study addresses the need for an objective and validated ecological sensitivity map to support sustainable mountain watershed management. We construct an ecological sensitivity index based on principal component analysis using four key indicators:land cover, vegetation density(NDVI),slope, and rainfall, and evaluate its reliability through multi-source validation.Inputs integrate national elevation models,Landsat 8 imagery, and satellite-derived rainfall.Rainfall represents a multi-year climatology for 2015–2024,whereas land cover and NDVI reflect recent surface conditions derived from a cloud-free 2024 composite. The resulting sensitivity zonation indicates that 41.10%of Tana Toraja and 67.11%of North Toraja fall into the very high sensitivity class, concentrated on steep slopes and intensively converted landscapes.Eventbased spatial cross-validation against independent landslide records yields overall accuracies of 67.65%and 66.67%,while field verification produces Kappa values of 0.847 and 0.871.Stakeholder appraisal further corroborates the mapped patterns.Together, these convergent lines of evidence identify priority areas for reforestation, soil conservation, slope stabilization, and sustainable watershed management. The transparent and reproducible workflow supports evidence-based risk reduction and resilience building in the upper reaches of the Saddang Watershed.
文摘The multi-objective optimization problems, especially in constrained environments such as power distribution planning, demand robust strategies for discovering effective solutions. This work presents the improved variant of the Multi-population Cooperative Constrained Multi-Objective Optimization(MCCMO)Algorithm, termed Adaptive Diversity Preservation(ADP).This enhancement is primarily focused on the improvement of constraint handling strategies, local search integration, hybrid selection approaches, and adaptive parameter control.Theimproved variant was experimented on with the RWMOP50 power distribution systemplanning benchmark. As per the findings, the improved variant outperformed the original MCCMO across the eleven performance metrics, particularly in terms of convergence speed, constraint handling efficiency, and solution diversity. The results also establish that MCCMOADP consistently delivers substantial performance gains over the baseline MCCMO,demonstrating its effectiveness across performancemetrics. The new variant also excels atmaintaining the balanced trade-off between exploration and exploitation throughout the search process, making it especially suitable for complex optimization problems in multiconstrained power systems. These enhancements make MCCMO-ADP a valuable and promising candidate for handling problems such as renewable energy scheduling, logistics planning, and power system optimization.Future work will benchmark the MCCMO-ADP against widely recognized algorithms such as NSGA-Ⅱ,NSGA-Ⅲ,and MOEA/D and will also extend its validation to large-scale real-world optimization domains to further consolidate its generalizability.
文摘Generalised reduced masses with a set of equations governing the three relative motions between two of 3-bodies in their gravitational field are established,of which the dynamic characteristics of 3-body dynamics, fundamental bases of this paper, are revealed.Based on these findings,an equivalent system is developed, which is a 2-body system with its total mass, constant angular momentum, kinetic and potential energies same as the total ones of three relative motions,so that it can be solved using the well-known theory of the 2-body system. From the solution of an equivalent system with the revealed characteristics of three relative motions, the general theoretical solutions of the 3-body system are obtained in the curve-integration forms along the orbits in the imaged radial motion space. The possible periodical orbits with generalised Kepler’s law are presented.Following the description and mathematical demonstrations of the proposed methods, the examples including Euler’s/Lagrange’s problems, and a reported numerical one are solved to validate the proposed methods. The methods derived from the 3-body system are extended to N-body problems.
文摘This study investigates the impacts of mixing time, execution procedure, cement dosage(α),and total water-to-cement ratio(W_(Total)/C)on the mixing energy(E)of deep soil mixing(DSM)columns and how E influences the strength of treated sand.Columns with a diameter of 7.5 cm were constructed using three mixing times(130,190,and 250 s),two execution procedures(normal and zigzag),threeαvalues(300,400,and 500 kg/m^(3)),and three W_(Total)/C ratios(2.5,3.0,and 3.5).For comparison, equivalent laboratory samples were also examined. Results revealed that increasing the mixing time andα,adopting the zigzag execution procedure, and reducing the W_(Total)/C ratio increase E.Outcomes indicated that an increase in E from 0.49-0.70 kJ to 0.70-0.90 kJ,0.90-1.10 kJ,and 1.10-1.40 kJ improves the unconfined compressive strength(UCS)of columns on average by 66%,124%,and 179%,respectively,and the secant modulus by 61%,110%,and 152%.Average strain at maximum stress also rises from 0.68%to 0.75%,0.81%,and 0.84%,respectively.The study identified a threshold in the direct relationship between E and the strength ratio(λ),beyond whichλdid not increase significantly with further increases in E.Additionally,at low and high E levels,DSM samples mainly failed by crushing and cracking modes, respectively. In DSM columns withα=500 kg/m^(3)and W_(Total)/C=2.5,increasing average E from 0.77 kJ to 0.95 kJ,1.08 kJ,and 1.28 kJ resulted in a reduction of coefficients of variation of UCS from 30.4%to 27.8%,24.5%,and 21.1%,respectively.
文摘The objective of the current study is to investigate an adaptive predictive observer-based autopilot for a skid-to-turn(STT)missile model with uncertainties and unknown dynamic equations.A predictive control for the STT missile is designed based on nonlinear model predictive control(NMPC)using Taylor series expansion, after which, via a neural network(NN),unknown functions are approximated. The present study also evaluates an adaptive optimal observer of a new strategy-based nonlinear system.Specifically,to estimate the missile states such as normal acceleration and its derivatives for the future, originally the Taylor series states expansion was gained to any specified order, based on their receding horizons. To address the problem of prediction error,an analytic solution was prepared that led to a closed form regarding the nonlinear optimal observer.Out of the gains resulting from the analytic solution,as developed for the problem of prediction error, the selection of the proposed observer gain was optimally conducted to meet the stability condition. Thus, combining the adaptive predictive autopilot and the adaptive optimal observer scheme was implemented to secure the performance, which needed only estimated normal acceleration and its derivatives.Meanwhile,no angular velocity measurement or wind angle estimation was required.Ultimately, the proposed technique was found effective,as confirmed by the qualitative simulation results.
