Based on the seismic and drilling data, casting thin sections, geochemical analysis of oil and rock samples, and hydrocarbon generation history simulation, the hydrocarbon accumulation characteristics and exploration direction of Termit superimposed marine–continental rift basin are discussed. The Termit basin is superimposed with two-phase rifts(Early Cretaceous and Paleogene). The subsidence curves from two wells on the Trakes slope in the east of the basin show high subsidence rate in the Late Cretaceous, which is believed to be high deposition rate influenced by transgression. However, a weak rift may also be developed. The depositional sequences in the Termit basin were controlled by the Late Cretaceous marine transgression cycle and the Paleogene lacustrine transgression cycle, giving rise to two types of superimposed marine–continental “source-sink” deposits. The marine and continental mixed source rocks developed universally in the whole basinduring the marine transgression period, and are overlaid by the Paleogene Sokor 1 reservoir rocks and Sokor 2 caprocks developed during the lacustrine transgression period, forming the unique superimposed marine–continental basin in WCARS. The early low geothermal gradient in the Termit basin resulted in the late hydrocarbon generated by the source rock of Upper Cretaceous Yogou in Paleogene. Mature source rock of Upper Cretaceous Donga developed in the Trakes slope, so that the double-source-supply hydrocarbon and accumulation models are proposed for the Trakes slope in which formed the oil fields. Due to virtue of the newly proposed hydrocarbon accumulation model and the exploration activities in recent years in the Termit superimposed marine–continental rift basin, an additional effective exploration area of about 2500 km2has been confirmed in the east of the basin. It is believed that potential domains such as Sokor 1, Donga and Upper Cretaceous lithologic traps in the southeast of the basin are key expected targets for exploration and frontier evaluation in future. 展开更多

Based on seismic, drilling, and source rock analysis data, the petroleum geological characteristics and future exploration direction of the oil-rich sags in the Central and West African Rift System(CWARS)are discussed. The study shows that the Central African Rift System mainly develops high-quality lacustrine source rocks in the Lower Cretaceous, and the West African Rift System mainly develops high-quality terrigenous organic matter-rich marine source rocks in the Upper Cretaceous, and the two types of source rocks provide a material basis for the enrichment of oil and gas in the CWARS.Multiple sets of reservoir rocks including fractured basement and three sets of regional cap rocks in the Lower Cretaceous, the Upper Cretaceous, and the Paleogene are developed in the CWARS.Since the Late Mesozoic, due to the geodynamic factors including the dextral strike-slip movement of the Central African Shear Zone, the basins in different directions of the CWARS differ in terms of rifting stages, intervals of regional cap rocks, trap types and accumulation models. The NE-SW trending basins have mainly preserved one stage of rifting in the Early Cretaceous, with regional cap rocks developed in the Lower Cretaceous strata, forming traps of reverse anticlines,flower-shaped structures and basement buried hill, and two types of hydrocarbon accumulation models of"source and reservoir in the same formation, and accumulation inside source rocks"and"up-source and down-reservoir,and accumulation below source rocks".The NW–SE basins are characterized by multiple rifting stages superimposition, with the development of regional cap rocks in the Upper Cretaceous and Paleogene, forming traps of draping anticlines, faulted anticlines, antithetic fault blocks and the accumulation model of"down-source and up-reservoir,and accumulation above source rocks".The combination of reservoir and cap rocks inside source rocks of basins with multiple superimposed rifting stages,as well as the lithologic reservoirs and the shale oil inside source rocks of strong inversion basins are important fields for future exploration in basins of the CWARS. 展开更多

The history and results of petroleum exploration in the Santos Basin, Brazil are reviewed. The regularity of hydrocarbon enrichment and the key exploration technologies are summarized and analyzed using the seismic, gravity, magnetic and drilling data. It is proposed that the Santos Basin had a structural pattern of two uplifts and three depressions and the Aram-Uirapuru uplift belt controlled the hydrocarbon accumulation. It is believed that the main hydrocarbon source kitchen in the rift period controlled the hydrocarbon-enriched zones, paleo-structures controlled the scale and quality of lacustrine carbonate reservoirs, and continuous thick salt rocks controlled the hydrocarbon formation and preservation. The process and mechanism of reservoirs being transformed by CO_(2)charging were revealed. Five key exploration technologies were developed, including the variable-velocity mapping for layer-controlled facies-controlled pre-salt structures, the prediction of lacustrine carbonate reservoirs, the prediction of intrusive/effusive rock distribution, the detection of hydrocarbons in lacustrine carbonates, and the logging identification of supercritical CO_(2)fluid. These theoretical recognitions and exploration technologies have contributed to the discovery of deep-water super-large reservoirs under CNODC projects in Brazil, and will guide the further exploration of deep-water large reservoirs in the Santos Basin and other similar regions. 展开更多

Several international oil companies had conducted petroleum exploration, but failed to make any commercially viable discoveries in the Doseo Basin for over 30 years. In this article, an integrated analysis, based on the latest seismic and drilling data combined with exploration practice and tectonic, sedimentary as well as petroleum-geological characteristics of the basin, has been conducted with the aim to disclose the key factors of hydrocarbon accumulation and enrichment and then to find the potential petroleum plays. The Doseo Basin in Chad is a Meso-Cenozoic lacustrine rift basin developed on the Precambrian crystalline basement in the Central African Shear Zone. It is a half graben rift controlled by the strike-slip fault at the northern boundary, and can be divided into two sub-basins, an uplift and a slope. The basin experienced two rifting periods in the Cretaceous and was strongly inverted with the erosion thickness of 800–1000 m during the Eocene, and then entered the depression and extinction period. Structurally, a large number of normal faults and strike-slip faults are identified in the basin, and the boundary faults are inverted faults with normal at first. The main structural styles include inverted anticlines, fault noses, complex fault-blocks and flower structures. The Lower Cretaceous is the main sedimentary strata, which are divided into the Mangara Group, Kedeni, Doba and Koumra Formations from bottom to up. Two transgressive-regressive cycles developed in the Lower Cretaceous indicates with mainly lacustrine, fluvial, delta, braided-delta, fan-delta sandstone and mudstone. The effective source rock in the basin is the deep-lacustrine mudstone of the Lower Cretaceous containing the type Ⅰ and type Ⅱ;organic matters. Furthermore, Inverted anticlines and fault-complicated blocks comprise the main trap types and the Kedeni Uplift is the most favorable play, followed by the Northern Steep Slope and Southern Gentle Slope. Lateral sealing capacity of faults controls the hydrocarbon abundance. 展开更多

Based on two-dimensional/three-dimensional seismic and logging data, combined with the analysis of low-temperature thermochronology data, the unconformity surface characteristics and the patterns and dynamic mechanisms of inverted structures in the Doseo Basin in the Central and West African rift systems are systematically analyzed.Seismic profiles reveal two key inversion unconformable surfaces in the basin,i.e.the T_(5)interface within the Upper Cretaceous and the T_(4)interface at the top of the Cretaceous, which control the development of inverted structures in the basin.Four types of inverted structures,i.e.fault-associated,thrust,fold,and back-shaped negative flower, are identified.Spatially, they form six inverted structural belts trending in NE-NEE direction. The thermal history simulation of apatite fission track reveals two rapid cooling events in the late Late Cretaceous(85-80 Ma,cooling by 15℃)and the Eocene-Oligocene(30-40 Ma,cooling by 35℃),corresponding respectively to the formation periods of the T_(5)and T_(4)interface.The dynamics analysis of structural inversion indicates that the structural inversion in the Late Cretaceous was controlled by the subduction and long-range compression within the Tethys Ocean in the north of African Plate, while the structural inversion in the Eocene-Oligocene was drived by the stress transmission from the African-Eurasian collision. The two events were all controlled by the continuous tectonic regulation of the intracratonic basin by the evolution of the Tethys tectonic domain. The two periods of structural inversion enhanced the efficiency of oil and gas migration by controlling the types of traps(anticline and fault-related traps)and fault activation, precisely matching the hydrocarbon generation peaks of the Lower Cretaceous source rocks in the Late Cretaceous and Eocene, thereby controlling the formation of large-scale oil and gas reservoirs in the Doseo Basin. This geological insight provides a critical basis for the theoretical research on the evolution and hydrocarbon accumulation of inverted structures in discrete strike-slip rift systems. 展开更多

Natural gas hydrate is a clean energy source with substantial resource potential. In contrast to conventional oil and gas, natural gas hydrate exists as a multi-phase system consisting of solids, liquids, and gases, which presents unique challenges and complicates the mechanisms of seepage and exploitation. Both domestic and international natural gas hydrate production tests typically employ a single-well production model.Although this approach has seen some success,it continues to be hindered by low production rates and short production cycles. Therefore, there is an urgent need to explore a new well network to significantly increase the production of a single well. This paper provides a comprehensive review of the latest advancements in natural gas hydrate research, including both laboratory studies and field tests. It further examines the gas production processes and development outcomes for single wells, dual wells,multi-branch wells, and multi-well systems under conditions of depressurization, thermal injection, and CO_(2) replacement. On this basis, well types and well networks suitable for commercial exploitation of natural gas hydrate were explored, and the technical direction of natural gas hydrate development was proposed. The study shows that fully exploiting the flexibility of complex structural wells and designing a well network compatible with the reservoir is the key to improving production from a single well.Moreover,multi-well joint exploitation is identified as an effective strategy for achieving large-scale,efficient development of natural gas hydrate. 展开更多

A marine riser, one of the most important components of offshore oil/gas transportation, needs to be designed to eliminate the risks caused by complex ocean environments, platform displacement and internal corrosion, etc. In this study,a new analytical-numerical assessment approach is proposed in order to quantitatively investigate the reliability of internally corroded risers under combined loads including axial tension and internal pressure.First,an analytical solution of the limit state function of intact risers under combined loads is obtained, which is further modified by the non-dimensional corrosion depth (d/ t) for the risers with a narrow and long corrosion defect. The relationship between d/t and limited internal pressure is obtained by finite element analysis and nonlinear regression.Through an advanced first-order reliability method (HL-RF) algorithm, reliability analysis is performed to obtain the failure probability, the reliability index and the sensitivity. These results are further verified by Monte-Carlo importance sampling. The proposed approach of reliability analysis provides an accurate and effective way to estimate the reliability of marine risers with narrow and long corrosion defects under combined loads. 展开更多

Fluid and effective fracture identification in reservoirs is a crucial part of reservoir prediction. The frequency-dependent AVO inversion algorithms have proven to be effective for identifying fluid through its dispersion property. However, the conventional frequency-dependent AVO inversion algorithms based on Smith&Gidlow and Aki&Richards approximations do not consider the acquisition azimuth of seismic data and neglect the effect of seismic anisotropic dispersion in the actual medium. The aligned fractures in the subsurface medium induce anisotropy. The seismic anisotropy should be considered while accounting for the seismic dispersion properties through fluid-saturated fractured reservoirs.Anisotropy in such reservoirs is frequency-related due to wave-induced fluid-flow(WIFF)between interconnected fractures and pores. It can be used to identify fluid and effective fractures(fluid-saturated)by using azimuthal seismic data via anisotropic dispersion properties. In this paper, based on Rüger’s equation,we derived an analytical expression in the frequency domain for the frequencydependent AVOAz inversion in terms of fracture orientation, dispersion gradient of isotropic background rock, anisotropic dispersion gradient, and the dispersion at a normal incident angle. The frequency-dependent AVOAz equation utilizes azimuthal seismic data and considers the effect of both isotropic and anisotropic dispersion.Reassigned Gabor Transform(RGT)is used to achieve highresolution frequency division data.We then propose the frequency-dependent AVOAz inversion method to identify fluid and characterize effective fractures in fractured porous reservoirs.Through application to high-qualified seismic data of dolomite and carbonate reservoirs, the results show that the method is useful for identifying fluid and effective fractures in fluid-saturated fractured rocks. 展开更多

In response to the problems of unclear distribution of deep-water pre-salt carbonate reservoirs and formation conditions of large oil fields in the Santos passive continental margin basin, based on comprehensive utilization of geological, seismic, and core data, and reconstruction of Early Cretaceous prototype basin and lithofacies paleogeography,it is proposed for the first time that the construction of pre-salt carbonate build-ups was controlled by two types of isolated platforms:inter-depression fault-uplift and intra-depression fault-high.The inter-depression fault-uplift isolated platforms are distributed on the present-day pre-salt uplifted zones between depressions, and are built on half-and fault-horst blocks that were inherited and developed in the early intra-continental and inter-continental rift stages. The late intra-continental rift coquinas of the ITP Formation and the early inter-continental rift microbial limestones of the BVE Formation are continuously constructed;intra-depression fault-high isolated platforms are distributed in the current pre-salt depression zones, built on the uplifted zones formed by volcanic rock build-ups in the early prototype stage of intra-continental rifts, and only the BVE microbial limestones are developed. Both types of limestones formed into mound-shoal bodies, that have the characteristics of large reservoir thickness and good physical properties.Based on the dissection of large pre-salt oil fields discovered in the Santos Basin,it has been found that both types of platforms could form large-scale combined structural-stratigraphic traps, surrounded by high-quality lacustrine and lagoon source rocks at the periphery, and efficiently sealed by thick high-quality evaporite rocks above, forming the optimal combination of source, reservoir and cap in the form of“lower generation, middle storage, and upper cap”,with a high degree of oil and gas enrichment. It has been found that the large oil fields are all bottom water massive oil fields with a unified pressure system, and they are all filled to the spill-point.The future exploration is recommended to focus on the inter-depression fault-uplift isolated platforms in the western uplift zone and the southern section of eastern uplift zones,as well as intra-depression fault-high isolated platforms in the central depression zone. The result not only provides an important basis for the advanced selection of potential play fairways, bidding of new blocks, and deployment of awarded exploration blocks in the Santos Basin, but also provides a reference for the global selection of deep-water exploration blocks in passive continental margin basins. 展开更多

Carbonate reservoir patterns play an important role in the production performance of oil and gas wells, and it is usually classified through static data analysis which cannot reflect the actual well performance. This paper takes the Tazhong No.1 gas field in the Tarim Basin,China as an example to investigate the classification of carbonate reservoirs. The classification method mainly combines well test analysis with production analysis—especially the Blasingame type curve method.Based on the characteristics of type curves for well test analysis and the Blasingame method, the relationship between the type curves and reservoir pattern was established.More than 20 wells were analyzed and the reservoirs were classified into 3 major patterns with 7 sub-classes.Furthermore,the classification results were validated by dynamic performance analysis of wells in the Tazhong No.1 gas field. On the basis of the classification results, well stimulation(i.e.water flooding in a single well) was carried out in three volatile-oil wells, and the oil recovery increased by up to 20%. 展开更多

The Yubei-Tangbei area in the southern Tarim Basin is one of the best-preserved Early Paleozoic northeast-southwest trending fold-and-thrust belts within this basin. This area is crucial for the exploration of primary hydrocarbon reservoirs in northwestern China. In this study,we constructed the structural geometric morphology of the Yubei-Tangbei area using geophysical logs, drilling, and recent two-and three-dimensional(2-D and 3-D)seismic data. The Early Paleozoic fault-propagation folds, the Tangnan triangle zone,fault-detachment folds, and trishear fault-propagation folds developed with the detachment of the Middle Cambrian gypsum–salt layer.According to a detailed chronostratigraphic framework, the growth strata in the Upper Ordovician–Lower Silurian layer formed by onlapping the back limb of the asymmetric fault-propagation folds, which therefore defines the timing of deformations. The changes in kink band hinges and amplitudes in the Permian–Carboniferous and Cenozoic folding strata suggest that the evolution of the fold-and-thrust belts followed a sequential evolution process rather than a simultaneous one.Above the pre-existing Precambrian basement structure, the Yubei-Tangbei fold-and-thrust belts can be divided into four tectonic evolution stages:Late Cambrian,Late Ordovician to Early Carboniferous,Carboniferous to Permian, and Cenozoic. The northwestern-verging Cherchen Fault is part of the piedmont fold-and-thrust system of the southern Tarim foreland basin. We interpreted its strata as a breakthrough trishear fault-propagation fold that developed in three phases:Mid–Late Ordovician,Silurian to Middle Devonian, and Triassic to present. These tectonic events are responses of the Altyn-Tagh and Kunlun collisional orogenic belts and the Indian-Eurasian collision. The inherited deformation and structural modification in the southern Tarim Basin may be an indicator of the growth and evolution of peripheral orogens. 展开更多

Dedicated experiments and numerical simulations have been conducted to investigate the splitting characteristics of a gas-liquid two phase flow at a T junction. The experiments were carried out for different gas-liquid velocities. The flow rates in the two branches were measured accurately to determine how the two considered phases distribute in the two outlets. The experimental results have shown that when the two outlet pressures are asymmetric, the two-phase flow always tends to flow into the outlet which has a lower pressure. As the inlet liquid velocity increases, however, the two-phase flow gradually tends to split evenly.Compared with the experiment results, the pressure difference between the two outlets can be determined more accurately by means of numerical simulation. The trends of experimental results and simulations are in very good agreement. 展开更多

The features of the unconformity, fault and tectonic inversion in the eastern Doseo Basin,Chad, were analyzed, and the genetic mechanisms and basin evolution were discussed using seismic and drilling data. The following results are obtained.First, four stratigraphic unconformities,i.e.basement(Tg),Mangara Group(T10),lower Upper Cretaceous(T5)and Cretaceous(T4),four faulting stages,i.e.Barremian extensional faults,Aptian–Coniacian strike-slip faults,Campanian strike-slip faults, and Eocene strike-slip faults, and two tectonic inversions,i.e.Santonian and end of Cretaceous, were developed in the Doseo Basin.Second, the Doseo Basin was an early failed intracontinental passive rift basin transformed by the strike-slip movement and tectonic inversion. The initial rifting between the African and South American plates induced the nearly N-S stretching of the Doseo Basin, giving rise to the formation of the embryonic Doseo rift basin. The nearly E-W strike-slip movement of Borogop(F1)in the western section of the Central African Shear Zone resulted in the gradual cease of the near north-south rifting and long-term strike-slip transformation, forming a dextral transtension fault system with inherited activity but gradually weakened in intensity(interrupted by two tectonic inversions). This fault system was composed of the main shear(F1),R-type shear(F2-F3)and P-type shear(F4-F5)faults,with the strike-slip associated faults as branches. The strike-slip movements of F1 in Cretaceous and Eocene were controlled by the dextral shear opening of the equatorial south Atlantic and rapid expanding of the Indian Ocean, respectively. The combined function of the strike-slip movement of F1 and the convergence between Africa and Eurasia made the Doseo Basin underwent the Santonian dextral transpressional inversion characterized by intensive folding deformation leading to the echelon NE-SW and NNE-SSW nose-shaped uplifts and unconformity(T5)on high parts of the uplifts. The convergence between Africa and Eurasia caused the intensive tectonic inversion of Doseo Basin at the end of Cretaceous manifesting as intensive uplift, denudation and folding deformation, forming the regional unconformity(T4)and superposing a nearly E-W structural configuration on the Santonian structures.Third, the Doseo Basin experienced four evolutional stages with the features of short rifting and long depression,i.e.Barremian rifting,Aptian rifting–depression transition,Albian–Late Cretaceous depression, and Cenozoic extinction, under the control of the tectonic movements between Africa and its peripheral plates. 展开更多

Based on the analytical data of over 30 gas samples, combined with geochemical and geological backgrounds, the composition and distribution characteristics of shallow biogenetic gases in the Baise Basin, a Tertiary residual basin in southern China, were extensively investigated, and the origin and formation mechanism tentatively approached. The shallow gases are primarily composed of gaseous hydrocarbons, generally accounting for over 90%. The abundances of methane and C2+ homologues show a relatively wide range of variation, mainly 50%-100% and 0%-50%, respectively, depending on the mixing proportions between biogenetic and thermogenic gases. A highly negative carbon isotope is the significant signature for the shallow gases with δ^13C1 values of -55‰ to -75‰. According to molecular and isotopic compositions and light hydrocarbon parameters, the shallow gases in the basin can be classified into three types of origins: biogenetic gas, biogenetic/thermogenic mixed gas, and oii-biodegraded gas. They exhibit regular distribution both spatially and temporally, and are believed to be associated with the maturity of adjoining gas source rocks and biodegraded oil accumulation. The Baigang and Nadu source rocks can be considered to have experienced early and late gas generation during early burial and after basin uplift respectively. A late accumulation mechanism of multiple gas sources is put forward for the formation of the shallow gas reservoirs, which is responsible for the variations in chemical and isotopic composition of the gases in depth profile. 展开更多

CO_(2)huff and puff experiments of different injection parameters, production parameters and soaking time were carried out on large-scale cubic and long columnar outcrop samples to analyze dynamic characteristics and influencing factors of CO_(2)huff and puff and the contribution of sweeping mode to recovery. The experimental results show that the development process of CO_(2)huff and puff can be divided into four stages,namely,CO_(2)backflow,production of gas with some oil,high-speed oil production, and oil production rate decline stages. The production of gas with some oil stage is dominated by free gas displacement, and the high-speed oil production stage is dominated by dissolved gas displacement.CO_(2)injection volume and development speed are the major factors affecting the oil recovery. The larger the injected CO_(2)volume and the lower the development speed, the higher the oil recovery will be.The reasonable CO_(2)injection volume and development speed should be worked out according to oilfield demand and economic evaluation. There is a reasonable soaking time in CO_(2)huff and puff.Longer soaking time than the optimum time makes little contribution to oil recovery. In field applications, the stability of bottom hole pressure is important to judge whether the soaking time is sufficient during the huff period. The oil recovery of CO_(2)huff and puff mainly comes from the contribution of flow sweep and diffusion sweep, and diffusion sweep contributes more to the oil recovery when the soaking time is sufficient. 展开更多

It also degrades the quality of sections and increases the difficulty of processing and interpretation. This article presents the relationship between notch, shooting depth, and seabed depth based on the seismic convolution model. Forward modelling based on wave equation theory is used to verify this relationship. Dual-sensor summation is applied to suppress receiver-side multiples and remove notches according to the opposite response of geophones and hydrophones to down-going wave fields based on a detailed analysis of the OBC technique. The good results obtained in practical applications reveal the effectiveness of this method. 展开更多

Based on core, logging, lab test and seismic data, sedimentary characteristics and pattern of marine hyperpycnal flow, the distribution rules of hyperpycnal flow reservoir, prediction method of favorable hyperpycnal flow reservoir zones, hydrocarbon accumulation model in hyperpycnal flow reservoir in D block of Bay of Bengal were investigated, and the favorable exploration zone and well sites were predicted.Pliocene in D block has typical hyperpycnal flow sediment, which is a set of fine-medium sandstone held between thick layers of marine mudstone and features a series of reverse grading unit and normal grading unit pairs. The hyperpycnal flow sediment appears as heavily jagged box shape, bell shape and tongue shape facies on log curves with linear gradient, and corresponds to multiple phases of deep channels on the seismic section and high sinuous channel on stratal slices. The sedimentary bodies formed by a single phase hyperpycnal flow which include five types of microfacies, namely, supply channel(valley),channel complex, branch channel, levee and sheet sand. The hyperpycnal flow sediments appear in multiple branches, multiple generations and stages in space, forming high-quality reservoirs in strips on the plane and superposition vertically, with fairly good physical properties. The channel complex sandstone, with large thickness, coarse particle size and good physical properties,is the most favorable exploration facies.Based on the guidance of the sedimentary model, distribution of the channel complex microfacies was delineated in detail by seismic reflection structure analysis, spectrum waveform characteristic analysis, slice and attribute fusion, and combined with the structural feature analysis, the favorable drilling zone was sorted out, effectively guiding the exploration deployment of the block. 展开更多

The oblique transfer zone in the Fushan Sag, a syndepositional dome sandwiched between the Bailian and Huangtong sub-sags, has been the most important exploration target. The major oil observation occurs in the E_2l_1^(L+M) and the E_2l_3~U. 46 oil and rock samples reveal that the oil in the transfer zone is mostly contributed by the Bailian sub-sag, though the source rock conditions, hydrocarbon generation and expulsion histories of the Bailian and Huangtong sub-sags are similar. The E_2l_3~U oil, characterized by high maturity, Pr/Ph ratio and oleanane/C_(30)-hopane ratio, shows a close genetic affinity with the E_2l_3~b source rocks, while the E_2l_1^(L+M) oil, characterized by lower maturity, Pr/Ph ratio and oleanane/C_(30)-hopane ratio, is suggested to be derived from the E_2l_(1+2)~b source rocks. The homogenization temperatures of aqueous fluid inclusions, taking the burial history of the reservoirs into account, reflect that the oil charge mainly occurred from mid-Miocene to Pliocene in the oblique transfer zone. The oil transporting passages include connected sand bodies, unconformities and faults in the Fushan Sag. Of these, the faults are the most complicated and significant. The faults differ sharply in the west area, the east area and the oblique transfer zone, resulting in different influence on the oil migration and accumulation. During the main hydrocarbon charge stage, the faults in the west area are characterized by bad vertical sealing and spatially dense distribution. As a result, the oil generated by the Huangtong source rocks is mostly lost along the faults during the vertical migration in the west area. This can be the mechanism proposed to explain the little contribution of the Huangtong source rocks to the oil in the oblique transfer zone. Eventually, an oil migration and accumulation model is built in the oblique transfer zone, which may provide theoretical and practical guides for the oil exploration. 展开更多
