The GCD CNN has stronger ability and faster rate for determining global connectivity in binarypatterns than the GCD CNN proposed by Zarandy. The theorem provides some int...A constructive theorem is established for generalized synchronization (GS) related to C<SUP>1</SUP> diffeomorphic transformations of unidirectionally coupled dynamical arrays. The theorem provides some interpretations about the underlying mechanism of various GS phenomena in nature. As a direct application of the theorem, a chaos-based secure Internet communication scheme is proposed. Moreover, a cellular neural network (CNN) of Chen's chaotic circuits with GS property is designed and studied. Numerical simulation shows that this Chen's CNN has high security and is fast and reliable for secure Internet communications.展开更多

It is shown that under certain conditions the solution blows up at a finite time and the blow-up only occurs on the boundary. The self-similar solution for the one-dimensional case has been studied. In this paper, we analyze the global and local convergence properties of two predictor-corrector smoothing methods, which are based on the framework of the method in [1], for monotone linear complementarity problems (...In this paper, we analyze the global and local convergence properties of two predictor-corrector smoothing methods, which are based on the framework of the method in [1], for monotone linear complementarity problems (LCPs). The difference between the algorithm in [1] and our algorithms is that the neighborhood of smoothing central path in our paper is different to that in [1]. In addition, the difference between Algorithm 2.1 and the algorithm in [1] exists in the calculation of the predictor step. Comparing with the results in [1], the global and local convergence of the two methods can be obtained under very mild conditions. The global convergence of the two methods do not need the boundness of the inverse of the Jacobian. The superlinear convergence of Algorithm 2.1′ is obtained under the assumption of nonsingularity of generalized Jacobian of φ(x, y) at the limit point and Algorithm 2.1 obtains superlinear convergence under the assumption of strict complementarity at the solution. The effciency of the two methods is tested by numerical experiments.展开更多
