Application of novel super-exponential iteration algorithm in underwater acoustic channel

A novel variable step-size modified super-exponential iteration(MSEI)decision feedback blind equalization(DFE)algorithm with second-order digital phase-locked loop is put forward to improve the convergence performance of super-exponential iteration DFE algorithm.Based on the MSEI-DFE algorithm,it is first proposed to develop an error function as an improvement to the error function of MSEI,which effectively achieves faster convergence speed of the algorithm.Subsequently,a hyperbolic tangent function variable step-size algorithm is developed considering the high variation rate of the hyperbolic tangent function around zero,so as to further improve the convergence speed of the algorithm.In the end,a second-order digital phase-locked loop is introduced into the decision feedback equalizer to track and compensate for the phase rotation of equalizer input signals.For the multipath underwater acoustic channel with mixed phase and phase rotation,quadrature phase shift keying(QPSK)and 16 quadrature amplitude modulation(16QAM)modulated signals are used in the computer simulation of the algorithm in terms of convergence and carrier recovery performance.The results show that the proposed algorithm can considerably improve convergence speed and steady-state error,make effective compensation for phase rotation,and efficiently facilitate carrier recovery. 展开更多

Rational planning of spares configuration project is an effective approach to improve equipment availability as well as reduce life cycle cost (LCC). With an analysis of various impacts on support system, the spares demand rate forecast model is constructed. According to systemic analysis method, spares support effectiveness evaluation indicators system is built, and then, initial spares configuration and optimization method is researched. To the issue of discarding and con-sumption for incomplete repairable items, its expected backorders function is approximated by Laplace demand distribution. Combining the (s-1, s) and (R, Q) inventory policy, the spares resup-ply model is established under the batch ordering policy based on inventory state, and the optimi-zation analysis flow for spares configuration is proposed. Through application on shipborne equipment spares configuration, the given scenarios are analyzed under two constraint targets:one is the support effectiveness, and the other is the spares cost. Analysis reveals that the result is consistent with practical regulation;therefore, the model's correctness, method's validity as well as optimization project's rationality are proved to a certain extent. 展开更多

In order to study the underwater trajectory of the non-powered vehicle discharged from the broadside of the underwater platform,the simulation on the ascent process of non-powered vehicle was realized based on the mathematical model including the movement of the vehicle on the slope plate and in the seawater,the air chamber underwater working process etc. The simulation results show that the outlet speed and attitude of the vehicle meet the requirements of missile launching,the non-powered vehicle discharged from the broadside of the underwater platform is feasible. The simulation results with varying parameters show that the negative buoyancy of the vehicle imposes great impacts on the security of its discharge and the floating process,and the vehicle discharge depth is proportional to the floating time. The models and simulation result can be used in further research on the broadside discharging technology of the underwater platform. 展开更多

In-out fiber ends of TWA are used to construct an external cavity resonator to produce big ripple on amplified spontaneous emission(ASE) spectrum. By this means,Hakki-Paoli method is adepted to obtain the gain spectra of TWA over a wide spectral range. From measured longitudinal mode spacing and peak wavelength shift due to increased bias current, we further calculate the effective refractive index and the refractive index change. The influence of background light and load resistance on APD detection circuit is analyzed in detail. A theoretical model of temperature compensation and load resistance compensation is established,which is used for APD biasing circuit designing. It is predicted that this control method is especially suitable for LD laser range finder used on vehicles. Experimental results confirm that the design proposed in this paper can considerablely improve the performance of range finder. 展开更多

In order to optimize the spares configuration project at different stages during the life cycle, the factor of time is considered to relax the assumption of the spares steady demand in multi-echelon technique for recoverable item control (METRIC) theory. According to the method of systems analysis, the dynamic palm theorem is introduced to establish the prediction model of the spares demand rate, and its main influence factors are analyzed, based on which, the spares support effectiveness evaluation index system is studied, and the system optimization-oriented spares dynamic configuration method for multi-echelon multi-indenture system is proposed. Through the analysis of the optimization algorithm, the layered marginal algorithm is designed to improve the model calculation efficiency. In a given example, the multi-stage spares configuration project during its life cycle is gotten, the research result conforms to the actual status, and it can provide a new way for the spares dynamic optimization. 展开更多

The coordinated route planning problem for multiple unmanned air vehicles (UAVs), a cooperative optimization problem, also a non-cooperative game, is addressed in the framework of game theory, A Nash equilibrium based route planner is proposed. The rational is that the structure of UAV subteam usually provides some inherent and implicit preference information, which help to find the optimum coordinated routes and the optimum combination of the various objective functions. The route planner combines the concepts of evolutionary computation with problem-specific chromosome structures and evolutionary operators and handles different kinds of mission constraints in hierarchical style. Cooperation and competition among UAVs are reflected by the definition of fitness function. Simulations validate the feasibility and superiority of the game-theoretic coordinated routes planner. 展开更多

A flextensional transducer with an Omega shape and its algorithmic method of the resonant frequency and the shape functions are suggested. The Omega transducer is separated into four parts treated respectively as a thin shell of revolution and the theories of thin shells of revolution and piezoelectricity are used to obtain the energy functional of each part so that the sum of the energy functionals of the four parts is the energy functional of the whole Omega transducer. By substituting the shape functions with undetermined coefi3cients and the geo- metrical boundary conditions into the energy functional of the Omega transducer, the resonant frequency of the Omega transducer is firstly determined with the Rayleigh-Ritz method. With the gotten resonant frequency, the constant coefficients of the shape functions are following solved through the Rayleigh-Ritz partial differential equations and the geometrical boundary condition equations. The solving method of the resonant frequency and the shape functions is also extended to the cymbal transducer. Such an analytical method is verified to be feasible by the results of the finite element analysis and experiments. The research indicates that (1) The radial vibration of the piezoelectric ceramic is in phase with the longitudinal vibration of the top of metal cap, and it cut down the reversed phase component in the sound field. The Omega transducer can be a low frequency transducer. (2) The determination method of the resonant frequency and the shape functions give a solution to the optimum designs of the Omega transducer and the cymbal transducer. (3) The determination method of the resonant fi'equency and the shape functions can also be used in other flextensional transducers or other structures which are composed of thin shells of revolution, so it is universal. 展开更多

Since the probe acceleration response of a planar optical FBG hydrophone is very obvious and has an adverse influence on normal underwater acoustic pressure detection,an acceleration desensitization method employing an acceleration compensation measure is presented here.Results indicate that by utilizing this method,the equivalent pressure output applied by one unit of acceleration(1m·s^(-2)) is reduced from a range of 2.52-3.26 Pa to 0.0758-0.217 Pa, while the structural sensitivity decreases from 28 fm/Pa to 20 fm/Pa,however,the resonance frequency increases slightly from 6.2 kHz to 6.5 kHz.The increased resonance frequency helps to improve the dynamic frequency characteristics,and while the structural sensitivity is reduced, it can be compensated for by improving the optical FBG dynamic wavelength interrogation sensitivity.The system sensitivity of the optical FBG hydrophone is mainly determined by its wavelength interrogation sensitivity and not the probe structure sensitivity.Therefore,the acceleration compensation method would have broad practical applications. 展开更多

Calibrating the super low frequency (SLF) magnetic antenna in magnetic free space or an outdoor environment is difficult and complicated due to the large size calibration instruments and lots of measurement times. Aiming to calibrate the SLF magnetic antenna simply and efficiently, a calibration system comprised of a multi-frequency source, an A.C constant-current source and a solenoid is proposed according to the characteristic of an SLF magnetic antenna. The static magnetic transfer coefficient of the designed solenoid is calibrated. The measurement of the frequency response characteristics suggests the transfer coefficient remains unchanged in the range of the SLF band and is unaffected by the magnetic antenna internally installed. The CORDIC algorithm implemented in an FPGA is realized to generate a linear evenly-spaced multi-frequency signal with equal energy at each frequency. An A.C constant weak current source circuit is designed in order to avoid the impact on the magnetic induction intensity of a calibration system affected by impedance variation when frequency changing, linearity and the precision of the source are measured. The frequency characteristic of a magnetic antenna calibrated by the proposed calibration system agrees with the theoretical result and the standard Glass ring calibration result. The calibration precision satisfies the experimental requirement. 展开更多

Besides the electrode-pair antenna,the magnetic antenna is also used for the extremely low frequency (ELF) submarine communication.To receive the weak ELF signals,the structure of a small sized magnetic antenna determines its specific electrical characteristics.The ELF magnetic antenna shows high internal resistance, alternating-current impedance,and a resonance frequency near the operating bandwidth.In accordance with the electrical characteristics of ELF magnetic antenna,a low noise preamplifier and frequency compensation circuit were designed and realized.The preamplifier is a three-stage negative feedback circuit,which is composed of parallel JFET,common-emitter amplifier with a Darlington structure and a common-collector amplifier in push-pull connection.And a frequency compensation circuit is cascaded to compensate the characteristic in low frequency range.In the operating bandwidth f = 30-200 Hz,the circuit has a gain of 39.4 dB.The equivalent input noise is 1.97 nV/Hz^(1/2) and the frequency response keeps flat in operating bandwidth.The proposed preamplifier of the ELF magnetic antenna performs well in receiving ELF signals. 展开更多
