Monitoring their spatio-temporal changes plays an important role in controlling and preventing th...Underground coal fires are one of the most common and serious geohazards in most coal producing countries in the world. Monitoring their spatio-temporal changes plays an important role in controlling and preventing the effects of coal fires, and their environmental impact. In this study, the spatio-temporal changes of underground coal fires in Khanh Hoa coal field(North-East of Viet Nam) were analyzed using Landsat time-series data during the 2008-2016 period. Based on land surface temperatures retrieved from Landsat thermal data, underground coal fires related to thermal anomalies were identified using the MEDIAN+1.5×IQR(IQR: Interquartile range) threshold technique. The locations of underground coal fires were validated using a coal fire map produced by the field survey data and cross-validated using the daytime ASTER thermal infrared imagery. Based on the fires extracted from seven Landsat thermal imageries, the spatiotemporal changes of underground coal fire areas were analyzed. The results showed that the thermalanomalous zones have been correlated with known coal fires. Cross-validation of coal fires using ASTER TIR data showed a high consistency of 79.3%. The largest coal fire area of 184.6 hectares was detected in 2010, followed by 2014(181.1 hectares) and 2016(178.5 hectares). The smaller coal fire areas were extracted with areas of 133.6 and 152.5 hectares in 2011 and 2009 respectively. Underground coal fires were mainly detected in the northern and southern part, and tend to spread to north-west of the coal field.展开更多

The evolution properties of nanosecond pulse discharge (NPD) plasma under different air pressures are calculated. The results show that the air pressure has significant impacts on the NPD products and the peak values of particle number density for particles such as O atoms, 03 molecules, N2(A3) molecules in excited states, and NO molecules. It increases at first and then decreases with the increase of air pressure. On the other hand, the peak values of particle number density for N2(B3) and N2(C3) molecules in excited states are only slightly affected by the air pressure.展开更多
Objective:To investigate the expression of hENT1 and ERCCl genes in tumor tissues non-small cell lung cancer(NSCLC).Methods:Fresh non-small lung cancer specimens were transplanted into nude mice.Twenty mice were rando...Objective:To investigate the expression of hENT1 and ERCCl genes in tumor tissues non-small cell lung cancer(NSCLC).Methods:Fresh non-small lung cancer specimens were transplanted into nude mice.Twenty mice were randomized into two groups:experimental group receiving gemeitabine plus cisplatin and control group receiving 0.9%physiological saline.The expressions of hENTi and ERCC1 mRNA in tumor tissue were detccted by real-time fluorescent quantitative PCR.The volume of tumor,the weight of nude mice and tumor volume were respectively measured and calculated 2-3 times per week.Tissue samples were collected from NSCLC mice treated with gemeitabine plus carboplatin.Results:The histological examination showed that many tumor cells were well preserved in nude mice.The rate of transplanted tumor cells was 86.7%.The concomitant treatment study showed that the rate of TV,RTV,T/C in GEM + DDP group was the lowest.LBP + DOC,DDP + DOC obviously influenced the body weight.Compared with NS group,DDP group,GEM group,the survival period and the level of hENTl of DDP+GEM group increased obviously,the level of ERCC1 decreased significantly(P【0.05).Conclusions:The expression of hENT1 and ERCC1 genes in tumor tissues were closely correlated with the response to chemotherapy and prognosis of patients with NSCLC treated with gemeitabine plus cisplatin.展开更多
Assessing the impact of climate change(CC)on agricultural production systems is mainly done using crop models associated with climate model outputs.This review is one of the few,with the main objective of providing a ...Assessing the impact of climate change(CC)on agricultural production systems is mainly done using crop models associated with climate model outputs.This review is one of the few,with the main objective of providing a recent compendium of CC impact studies on irrigation needs and rice yields for a better understanding and use of climate and crop models.We discuss the strengths and weaknesses of climate impact studies on agricultural production systems,with a particular focus on uncertainty and sensitivity analyses of crop models.Although the new generation global climate models(GCMs)are more robust than previous ones,there is still a need to consider the effect of climate uncertainty on estimates when using them.Current GCMs cannot directly simulate the agro-climatic variables of interest for future irrigation assessment,hence the use of intelligent climate tools.Therefore,sensitivity and uncertainty analyses must be applied to crop models,especially for their calibration under different conditions.The impacts of CC on irrigation needs and rice yields vary across regions,seasons,varieties and crop models.Finally,integrated assessments,the use of remote sensing data,climate smart tools,CO_(2)enrichment experiments,consideration of changing crop management practices and multi-scale crop modeling,seem to be the approaches to be pursued for future climate impact assessments for agricultural systems。展开更多

Methods: Six traditional Chinese medicines, including Arsenious acid (AS), Ligustra- zine hydrochloride (LHC), Astragalus mongholicus bge (AMB), Matrine N-oxide (MOX), Polyporus umbellatus polysaccharide (PUPS) and Artesunate (ART), were enrolled. The reversing effects on suppression of murine splenocyte transformation and NK killing activity were measured by 3-{4,5-dimethyl-2-thiazolyl}-2,5-diphenyl tetrazolium (MTT), and the effects on the suppressed expression of intefieukin 2 receptor a (IL-2R(I), CD3E*~,* and CD3~.-~* were detected by flow cytometry (FCM). The effects on immunosuppressive molecules were measured by enzyme linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA), including transforming growth factor ~1 (TGF-~I), vascular endothelial growth factor (VEGF), interleukin 4 (IL-4), IL-6, IL-10 and pros- taglandin (PG) E2. Results: (1) The reversing effects of AMB on the inhibition of NK killing and CD3 expression were the most significant; the effect of LHC on inhibition of CD3 expression was the strongest; the effects of AMB, PUPS and ART on inhibition of transformation were the greatest; and the effect of ART on inhibition of IL-2Ra expression was the strongest. (2) The correlated molecules of these medicines that exerted reversing effects on colorectal tumor immunosuppression were TGF-~I and IL-10. AMB had the highest down-regulating effect on the secretion of TGF-~I. AS and ART had the highest effects on IL-10. Conclusion: Reversing tumor immunosuppression through the down-regulation of immunosuppressive molecules is one of the novel antitumor mechanisms of traditional Chinese medicines. The clinical use of compounded prescriptions of ART combined with AMB and LHC should be considered to avoid the reduced treatment efficiency caused by tumor im- munosuppression.展开更多
Objective:To evaluate the effectiveness and safety of electroacupuncture in conjunction with additional medications in providing analgesia and stabilizing hemodynamic parameters during total thyroidectomy.Methods:This...Objective:To evaluate the effectiveness and safety of electroacupuncture in conjunction with additional medications in providing analgesia and stabilizing hemodynamic parameters during total thyroidectomy.Methods:This randomized controlled trial included 100 patients who underwent a total thyroidectomy between October 2022 and October 2023 at the Vietnam National Hospital of Acupuncture.The patients were randomized into two groups.The electroacupuncture analgesia(EA)group received EA stimulation at five acupuncture points:Hegu(LI 4),Neiguan(PC 6),Shuitu(ST 10),Quepen(ST 12),and Yifeng(SJ 17),while the control group received a bilateral superficial cervical plexus block.Primary outcomes included the level of analgesia and perioperative vital signs in both groups.Additionally,pain thresholds and serum b-endorphin levels were measured before and after electroacupuncture in the EA group.Results:Complete analgesia(Level A)was attained in 86%and 76%of the patients in the EA and control groups,respectively,with no significant difference between the two groups(P=1.00).In the EA group,the mean pain threshold after receiving EA doubled(648.7(77.4)g/s vs.305.3(45.3)g/s,P<.001),and the mean serum b-endorphin level increased by approximately 13.5 pg/mL(P<.001).All patients remained hemodynamically stable throughout the surgery.Conclusion:EA,in conjunction with additional medications that stimulate five acupuncture points,LI 4,PC 6,ST 10,ST 12,and SJ 17,was well tolerated and effectively maintained a suitable level of analgesia and hemodynamic stability during total thyroidectomy.展开更多

This paper...Improving irrigation monitoring and efficiency is a current priority of the Government of Vietnam, focusing primarily on the agricultural sector which consumes most of the available surface and groundwater. This paper presents how remote sensing can be used in an integrated manner to achieve better understanding of key eco-hydrological processes including precipitation, evapotran-spiration, irrigation and crop growth. The results indicated that Normalized Difference Vegetation Index derived from Moderate Resolution Imaging Spectroradiometer (MODIS) can be applied to determine irrigated pixels on a spatial and temporal basis. The validation using measured water level showed a Pearson correlation of 0.7 proving the high accuracy of this method. The inclusion of these technologies is deemed necessary to improve water resources monitoring and management and hence, ensure long-term drought resilience and water and food security. Ca River Basin in the central Vietnam was selected as a case study to test this approach.展开更多
Objective:In 2022,a pneumonia caused by novel coronavirus broke out in Shanghai.A large number of medical personnel were deployed nationwide to support the Fangcang Shelter Hospital of National Exhibition and Conventi...Objective:In 2022,a pneumonia caused by novel coronavirus broke out in Shanghai.A large number of medical personnel were deployed nationwide to support the Fangcang Shelter Hospital of National Exhibition and Convention Center(Shanghai).Because the of the underdeveloped infrastructure and the disorganized layout process,the phenomenon of infection among medical personnel was rampant given the highly contagious nature of the Omicron variant.This paper discusses the effect of 6S management in infection control management of Fangcang Shelter Hospital of National Exhibition and Convention Center(Shanghai).Methods:A series of 6S management practices were carried out based on the evaluation of the control management of Fangcang Shelter Hospital of National Exhibition and Convention Center(Shanghai)during the anti-epidemic period,and the effect of the implementation of 6S management was studied based on the rapport among team members and the overall control system process,the management of wearing and stripping channels,the time of wearing protective articles and the psychological and emotional changes of the team members.Results:After the implementation of 6S management mode,the management of dressing room,epidemic prevention materials,and occupational protection awareness and infection control safety were significantly improved.More than 95.5%of the team members believed that improving the working environment in the shelter increased the confidence of victory in the fight against the epidemic,reduced the preparations before entering and leaving the cabin,improved the work efficiency and ensured occupational safety.It ensures the realization of the goal of“zero infection”and is set as a benchmark of control work of Fangcang Shelter Hospital of National Exhibition and Convention Center(Shanghai).Conclusion:The application of 6S management mode to the shelter infection control management can create and maintain a good working environment in the shelter,promote the implementation effect of various systems and processes of infection control,reduce the potential infection risk in the shelter and improve the efficiency of infection control management.展开更多

Autografting is the gold standard for surgical repair of nerve defects>5 mm in length;however,autografting is associated with potential complications at the nerve donor site.As an alternative,nerve guidance conduit...Autografting is the gold standard for surgical repair of nerve defects>5 mm in length;however,autografting is associated with potential complications at the nerve donor site.As an alternative,nerve guidance conduits may be used.The ideal conduit should be flexible,resistant to kinks and lumen collapse,and provide physical cues to guide nerve regeneration.We designed a novel flexible conduit using electrospinning technology to create fibers on the innermost surface of the nerve guidance conduit and employed melt spinning to align them.Subsequently,we prepared disordered electrospun fibers outside the aligned fibers and helical melt-spun fibers on the outer wall of the electrospun fiber lumen.The presence of aligned fibers on the inner surface can promote the extension of nerve cells along the fibers.The helical melt-spun fibers on the outer surface can enhance resistance to kinking and compression and provide stability.Our novel conduit promoted nerve regeneration and functional recovery in a rat sciatic nerve defect model,suggesting that it has potential for clinical use in human nerve injuries.展开更多

Background:Ischemic preconditioning(IPC)is purported to have beneficial effects on athletic performance,although findings are inconsistent,with some studies reporting placebo effects.The majority of studies have inves...Background:Ischemic preconditioning(IPC)is purported to have beneficial effects on athletic performance,although findings are inconsistent,with some studies reporting placebo effects.The majority of studies have investigated IPC alongside a placebo condition,but without a control condition that was devoid of experimental manipulation,thereby limiting accurate determination of the IPC effects.Therefore,the aims of this study were to assess the impact of the IPC intervention,compared to both placebo and no intervention,on exercise capacity and athletic performance.Methods:A systematic search of PubMed,Embase,SPORTDiscus,Cochrane Library,and Latin American and Caribbean Health Sciences Literature(LILACS)covering records from their inception until July 2023 was conducted.To qualify for inclusion,studies had to apply IPC as an acute intervention,comparing it with placebo and/or control conditions.Outcomes of interest were performance(force,number of repetitions,power,time to exhaustion,and time trial performance),physiological measurements(maximum oxygen consumption,and heart rate),or perceptual measurements(RPE).For each outcome measure,we conducted 3 independent meta-analyses(IPC vs.placebo,IPC vs.control,placebo vs.control)using an inverse-variance random-effects model.The between-treatment effects were quantified by the standardized mean difference(SMD),accompanied by their respective 95%confidence intervals.Additionally,we employed the Grading of Recommendations,Assessment,Development and Evaluation(GRADE)approach to assess the level of certainty in the evidence.Results:Seventy-nine studies were included in the quantitative analysis.Overall,IPC demonstrates a comparable effect to the placebo condition(using a low-pressure tourniquet),irrespective of the subjects'training level(all outcomes presenting p>0.05),except for the outcome of time to exhaustion,which exhibits a small magnitude effect(SMD=0.37;p=0.002).Additionally,the placebo exhibited effects notably greater than the control condition(outcome:number of repetitions;SMD=0.45;p=0.03),suggesting a potential influence of participants'cognitive perception on the outcomes.However,the evidence is of moderate to low certainty,regardless of the comparison or outcome.Conclusion:IPC has significant effects compared to the control intervention,but it did not surpass the placebo condition.Its administration might be influenced by the cognitive perception of the receiving subject,and the efficacy of IPC as an ergogenic strategy for enhancing exercise capacity and athletic performance remains questionable.展开更多
Background In light of growing concern over eating disorders among young athletes amid cultural and social pressures,this study aimed to assess the prevalence of orthorexia nervosa(ON)risk and evaluate body image perc...Background In light of growing concern over eating disorders among young athletes amid cultural and social pressures,this study aimed to assess the prevalence of orthorexia nervosa(ON)risk and evaluate body image perception and its predictive factors among young football players from Poland and Türkiye.Methods The study involved 171 players aged 15–18 years,recruited from football academies in Poland and Türkiye.The Polish and Turkish versions of the Body-Esteem Scale for Adolescents and Adults(BESAA)were administered to assess body image perception,while the Düsseldorf Orthorexia Scale(DOS)was used to measure ON risk.Anthropometric measurements were taken to calculate Body Mass Index(BMI),which was then referenced to centile charts to determine nutritional status.Results Results indicated that 13%of participants exhibited characteristics of ON,with an additional 26%classified as at elevated risk.Comparative analysis revealed no significant differences in ON prevalence between Polish and Turkish players(p=0.938)and no age-related differences(p=0.694).Among Polish players,a significant positive association emerged between BMI(relative to centile charts)and overall appearance evaluation(BE-Appearance)(p=0.008,partialη^(2)=0.10).This relationship was not observed in Turkish players.Moreover,analysis of ON risk predictors—including age,nationality,nutritional status,and body image—did not identify any single variable as a definitive predictor(all p-values>0.05),with a low predictive capacity(McFadden’s R^(2)=0.03).Conclusion The study revealed a significant risk of ON among young footballers with no clear predictors.展开更多
OBJECTIVE:To evaluate the effectiveness of cycling in combination with electroacupuncture in treatment of poststroke hemiplegia patients at National Hospital of Acupuncture,Vietnam.METHODS:The study was designed as a ...OBJECTIVE:To evaluate the effectiveness of cycling in combination with electroacupuncture in treatment of poststroke hemiplegia patients at National Hospital of Acupuncture,Vietnam.METHODS:The study was designed as a single-centre,outcome-assessor-blinded parallel randomised controlled trial with 120 post-stroke hemiplegia patients randomly assigned into two groups:electroacupuncture plus cycling(CT group) and electroacupuncture(AT group).Patients were assessed before and after the treatment(using muscle grading,modified Rankin,Barthel,Orgorozo scores and electromyography).Statistical Man–Whitney U test,and Fisher’s exact tests were used to compare between CT and AT groups.RESULTS:The results reported statistically significant improvement in motor function in patients suffering from hemiplegia following ischemic stroke in both CT and AT groups.Patients in CT group experienced a greater improvement compared to those in AT group including better muscle contraction(increased frequency and amplitude of electromyography and increased muscle grading scale);increased recovery(Orgogozo scale),increased independency(Barthel scale) and decreased disability(Modified Rankin scale)(P < 0.01).CONCLUSIONS:Combination with cycling training significantly improves the recovery of post-stroke patients treated with electroacupuncture.展开更多
Objective:The purpose of the study was to compare the preventive care use and health between the elderly living alone and living with other individuals and identify strategies to improve the preventive care use among ...Objective:The purpose of the study was to compare the preventive care use and health between the elderly living alone and living with other individuals and identify strategies to improve the preventive care use among the elderly living alone.Methods:A questionnaire including socioeconomic characteristics,preventive care use,health status and Social Support Rate Scale was administered to 240 elderly living alone and 244 elderly living with other individuals in Shanghai,China.Logistic regression analysis was used to examine the predictors of preventive care use.Results:The elderly living alone were more likely to be single(never married,divorced,separated and widowed),have lower social support and income,utilize less routine physical check-up and blood glucose screenings,have worse self-reported health and have limitations in IADL compared to the elderly living with other individuals.Women,old age,high education,income and social support and close to medical institutions were positively associated with routine physical check-up among the elderly.Conclusion:Living alone was associated with less preventive care use and worse health.It was important to provide more social support and economic support for the elderly living alone to increase their preventive health care service utilization and improve their health status.展开更多
Flavonoids,including fisetin,have been linked to a reduced risk of colorectal cancer(CRC)and have potential therapeutic applications for the condition.Fisetin,a natural flavonoid found in various fruits and vegetables...Flavonoids,including fisetin,have been linked to a reduced risk of colorectal cancer(CRC)and have potential therapeutic applications for the condition.Fisetin,a natural flavonoid found in various fruits and vegetables,has shown promise in managing CRC due to its diverse biological activities.It has been found to influence key cell signaling pathways related to inflammation,angiogenesis,apoptosis,and transcription factors.The results of this study demonstrate that fisetin induces colon cancer cell apoptosis through multiple mechanisms.It impacts the p53 pathway,leading to increased levels of p53 and decreased levels of murine double minute 2,contributing to apoptosis induction.Fisetin also triggers the release of important components in the apoptotic process,such as second mitochondria-derived activator of caspase/direct inhibitor of apoptosis-binding protein with low pI and cytochrome c.Furthermore,fisetin inhibits the cyclooxygenase-2 and wingless-related integration site(Wnt)/epidermal growth factor receptor/nuclear factor kappa B signaling pathways,reducing Wnt target gene expression and hindering colony formation.It achieves this by regulating the activities of cyclin-dependent kinase 2 and cyclin-dependent kinase 4,reducing retinoblastoma protein phosphorylation,decreasing cyclin E levels,and increasing p21 levels,ultimately influencing E2 promoter binding factor 1 and cell division cycle 2(CDC2)protein levels.Additionally,fisetin exhibits various effects on CRC cells,including inhibiting the phosphorylation of Y-box binding protein 1 and ribosomal S6 kinase,promoting the phosphorylation of extracellular signal-regulated kinase 1/2,and disrupting the repair process of DNA double-strand breaks.Moreover,fisetin serves as an adjunct therapy for the prevention and treatment of phosphatidylinositol-4,5-bisphosphate 3-kinase catalytic subunitα(PIK3CA)-mutant CRC,resulting in a reduction in phosphatidylinositol-3 kinase(PI3K)expression,Ak strain transforming phosphorylation,m TOR activity,and downstream target proteins in CRC cells with a PIK3CA mutation.These findings highlight the multifaceted potential of fisetin in managing CRC and position it as a promising candidate for future therapy development.展开更多

The beating signal relies on an asymmetric procedure of light storage and retrieval. After storing the probe pulse into the spin coherence under the EIT condition, two-color control fields with opposite detunings instead of the initial control field are used to scatter the stored spin coherence. The controllable beating signal is generated due to alternative constructive and destructive interferences in the retrieved signal intensities. The beating of the two-color control fields is mapped into the beating of weak probe fields by using atomic spin coherence. This beating signal will be important in precise atomic spectroscopy and fast quantum limited measurements.展开更多

文摘Underground coal fires are one of the most common and serious geohazards in most coal producing countries in the world. Monitoring their spatio-temporal changes plays an important role in controlling and preventing the effects of coal fires, and their environmental impact. In this study, the spatio-temporal changes of underground coal fires in Khanh Hoa coal field(North-East of Viet Nam) were analyzed using Landsat time-series data during the 2008-2016 period. Based on land surface temperatures retrieved from Landsat thermal data, underground coal fires related to thermal anomalies were identified using the MEDIAN+1.5×IQR(IQR: Interquartile range) threshold technique. The locations of underground coal fires were validated using a coal fire map produced by the field survey data and cross-validated using the daytime ASTER thermal infrared imagery. Based on the fires extracted from seven Landsat thermal imageries, the spatiotemporal changes of underground coal fire areas were analyzed. The results showed that the thermalanomalous zones have been correlated with known coal fires. Cross-validation of coal fires using ASTER TIR data showed a high consistency of 79.3%. The largest coal fire area of 184.6 hectares was detected in 2010, followed by 2014(181.1 hectares) and 2016(178.5 hectares). The smaller coal fire areas were extracted with areas of 133.6 and 152.5 hectares in 2011 and 2009 respectively. Underground coal fires were mainly detected in the northern and southern part, and tend to spread to north-west of the coal field.

文摘Based on the nonequilibrium plasma dynamics of air discharge, a dynamic model of zero-dimensional plasma is established by combining the component density equation, the Boltzmann equation, and the energy transfer equation. The evolution properties of nanosecond pulse discharge (NPD) plasma under different air pressures are calculated. The results show that the air pressure has significant impacts on the NPD products and the peak values of particle number density for particles such as O atoms, 03 molecules, N2(A3) molecules in excited states, and NO molecules. It increases at first and then decreases with the increase of air pressure. On the other hand, the peak values of particle number density for N2(B3) and N2(C3) molecules in excited states are only slightly affected by the air pressure.

文摘Objective:To investigate the expression of hENT1 and ERCCl genes in tumor tissues non-small cell lung cancer(NSCLC).Methods:Fresh non-small lung cancer specimens were transplanted into nude mice.Twenty mice were randomized into two groups:experimental group receiving gemeitabine plus cisplatin and control group receiving 0.9%physiological saline.The expressions of hENTi and ERCC1 mRNA in tumor tissue were detccted by real-time fluorescent quantitative PCR.The volume of tumor,the weight of nude mice and tumor volume were respectively measured and calculated 2-3 times per week.Tissue samples were collected from NSCLC mice treated with gemeitabine plus carboplatin.Results:The histological examination showed that many tumor cells were well preserved in nude mice.The rate of transplanted tumor cells was 86.7%.The concomitant treatment study showed that the rate of TV,RTV,T/C in GEM + DDP group was the lowest.LBP + DOC,DDP + DOC obviously influenced the body weight.Compared with NS group,DDP group,GEM group,the survival period and the level of hENTl of DDP+GEM group increased obviously,the level of ERCC1 decreased significantly(P【0.05).Conclusions:The expression of hENT1 and ERCC1 genes in tumor tissues were closely correlated with the response to chemotherapy and prognosis of patients with NSCLC treated with gemeitabine plus cisplatin.

文摘Assessing the impact of climate change(CC)on agricultural production systems is mainly done using crop models associated with climate model outputs.This review is one of the few,with the main objective of providing a recent compendium of CC impact studies on irrigation needs and rice yields for a better understanding and use of climate and crop models.We discuss the strengths and weaknesses of climate impact studies on agricultural production systems,with a particular focus on uncertainty and sensitivity analyses of crop models.Although the new generation global climate models(GCMs)are more robust than previous ones,there is still a need to consider the effect of climate uncertainty on estimates when using them.Current GCMs cannot directly simulate the agro-climatic variables of interest for future irrigation assessment,hence the use of intelligent climate tools.Therefore,sensitivity and uncertainty analyses must be applied to crop models,especially for their calibration under different conditions.The impacts of CC on irrigation needs and rice yields vary across regions,seasons,varieties and crop models.Finally,integrated assessments,the use of remote sensing data,climate smart tools,CO_(2)enrichment experiments,consideration of changing crop management practices and multi-scale crop modeling,seem to be the approaches to be pursued for future climate impact assessments for agricultural systems。

文摘Objective: Reversing effects of traditional Chinese medicines on colorectal tumor immunosuppressions of natural killer (NK) cell and T lymphocyte were analyzed to provide evidence on selecting medicines for patients according to the differ- ent types of tumor immunosuppression. Methods: Six traditional Chinese medicines, including Arsenious acid (AS), Ligustra- zine hydrochloride (LHC), Astragalus mongholicus bge (AMB), Matrine N-oxide (MOX), Polyporus umbellatus polysaccharide (PUPS) and Artesunate (ART), were enrolled. The reversing effects on suppression of murine splenocyte transformation and NK killing activity were measured by 3-{4,5-dimethyl-2-thiazolyl}-2,5-diphenyl tetrazolium (MTT), and the effects on the suppressed expression of intefieukin 2 receptor a (IL-2R(I), CD3E*~,* and CD3~.-~* were detected by flow cytometry (FCM). The effects on immunosuppressive molecules were measured by enzyme linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA), including transforming growth factor ~1 (TGF-~I), vascular endothelial growth factor (VEGF), interleukin 4 (IL-4), IL-6, IL-10 and pros- taglandin (PG) E2. Results: (1) The reversing effects of AMB on the inhibition of NK killing and CD3 expression were the most significant; the effect of LHC on inhibition of CD3 expression was the strongest; the effects of AMB, PUPS and ART on inhibition of transformation were the greatest; and the effect of ART on inhibition of IL-2Ra expression was the strongest. (2) The correlated molecules of these medicines that exerted reversing effects on colorectal tumor immunosuppression were TGF-~I and IL-10. AMB had the highest down-regulating effect on the secretion of TGF-~I. AS and ART had the highest effects on IL-10. Conclusion: Reversing tumor immunosuppression through the down-regulation of immunosuppressive molecules is one of the novel antitumor mechanisms of traditional Chinese medicines. The clinical use of compounded prescriptions of ART combined with AMB and LHC should be considered to avoid the reduced treatment efficiency caused by tumor im- munosuppression.
文摘Objective:To evaluate the effectiveness and safety of electroacupuncture in conjunction with additional medications in providing analgesia and stabilizing hemodynamic parameters during total thyroidectomy.Methods:This randomized controlled trial included 100 patients who underwent a total thyroidectomy between October 2022 and October 2023 at the Vietnam National Hospital of Acupuncture.The patients were randomized into two groups.The electroacupuncture analgesia(EA)group received EA stimulation at five acupuncture points:Hegu(LI 4),Neiguan(PC 6),Shuitu(ST 10),Quepen(ST 12),and Yifeng(SJ 17),while the control group received a bilateral superficial cervical plexus block.Primary outcomes included the level of analgesia and perioperative vital signs in both groups.Additionally,pain thresholds and serum b-endorphin levels were measured before and after electroacupuncture in the EA group.Results:Complete analgesia(Level A)was attained in 86%and 76%of the patients in the EA and control groups,respectively,with no significant difference between the two groups(P=1.00).In the EA group,the mean pain threshold after receiving EA doubled(648.7(77.4)g/s vs.305.3(45.3)g/s,P<.001),and the mean serum b-endorphin level increased by approximately 13.5 pg/mL(P<.001).All patients remained hemodynamically stable throughout the surgery.Conclusion:EA,in conjunction with additional medications that stimulate five acupuncture points,LI 4,PC 6,ST 10,ST 12,and SJ 17,was well tolerated and effectively maintained a suitable level of analgesia and hemodynamic stability during total thyroidectomy.
文摘Improving irrigation monitoring and efficiency is a current priority of the Government of Vietnam, focusing primarily on the agricultural sector which consumes most of the available surface and groundwater. This paper presents how remote sensing can be used in an integrated manner to achieve better understanding of key eco-hydrological processes including precipitation, evapotran-spiration, irrigation and crop growth. The results indicated that Normalized Difference Vegetation Index derived from Moderate Resolution Imaging Spectroradiometer (MODIS) can be applied to determine irrigated pixels on a spatial and temporal basis. The validation using measured water level showed a Pearson correlation of 0.7 proving the high accuracy of this method. The inclusion of these technologies is deemed necessary to improve water resources monitoring and management and hence, ensure long-term drought resilience and water and food security. Ca River Basin in the central Vietnam was selected as a case study to test this approach.
文摘Objective:In 2022,a pneumonia caused by novel coronavirus broke out in Shanghai.A large number of medical personnel were deployed nationwide to support the Fangcang Shelter Hospital of National Exhibition and Convention Center(Shanghai).Because the of the underdeveloped infrastructure and the disorganized layout process,the phenomenon of infection among medical personnel was rampant given the highly contagious nature of the Omicron variant.This paper discusses the effect of 6S management in infection control management of Fangcang Shelter Hospital of National Exhibition and Convention Center(Shanghai).Methods:A series of 6S management practices were carried out based on the evaluation of the control management of Fangcang Shelter Hospital of National Exhibition and Convention Center(Shanghai)during the anti-epidemic period,and the effect of the implementation of 6S management was studied based on the rapport among team members and the overall control system process,the management of wearing and stripping channels,the time of wearing protective articles and the psychological and emotional changes of the team members.Results:After the implementation of 6S management mode,the management of dressing room,epidemic prevention materials,and occupational protection awareness and infection control safety were significantly improved.More than 95.5%of the team members believed that improving the working environment in the shelter increased the confidence of victory in the fight against the epidemic,reduced the preparations before entering and leaving the cabin,improved the work efficiency and ensured occupational safety.It ensures the realization of the goal of“zero infection”and is set as a benchmark of control work of Fangcang Shelter Hospital of National Exhibition and Convention Center(Shanghai).Conclusion:The application of 6S management mode to the shelter infection control management can create and maintain a good working environment in the shelter,promote the implementation effect of various systems and processes of infection control,reduce the potential infection risk in the shelter and improve the efficiency of infection control management.

文摘Autografting is the gold standard for surgical repair of nerve defects>5 mm in length;however,autografting is associated with potential complications at the nerve donor site.As an alternative,nerve guidance conduits may be used.The ideal conduit should be flexible,resistant to kinks and lumen collapse,and provide physical cues to guide nerve regeneration.We designed a novel flexible conduit using electrospinning technology to create fibers on the innermost surface of the nerve guidance conduit and employed melt spinning to align them.Subsequently,we prepared disordered electrospun fibers outside the aligned fibers and helical melt-spun fibers on the outer wall of the electrospun fiber lumen.The presence of aligned fibers on the inner surface can promote the extension of nerve cells along the fibers.The helical melt-spun fibers on the outer surface can enhance resistance to kinking and compression and provide stability.Our novel conduit promoted nerve regeneration and functional recovery in a rat sciatic nerve defect model,suggesting that it has potential for clinical use in human nerve injuries.

文摘Background:Ischemic preconditioning(IPC)is purported to have beneficial effects on athletic performance,although findings are inconsistent,with some studies reporting placebo effects.The majority of studies have investigated IPC alongside a placebo condition,but without a control condition that was devoid of experimental manipulation,thereby limiting accurate determination of the IPC effects.Therefore,the aims of this study were to assess the impact of the IPC intervention,compared to both placebo and no intervention,on exercise capacity and athletic performance.Methods:A systematic search of PubMed,Embase,SPORTDiscus,Cochrane Library,and Latin American and Caribbean Health Sciences Literature(LILACS)covering records from their inception until July 2023 was conducted.To qualify for inclusion,studies had to apply IPC as an acute intervention,comparing it with placebo and/or control conditions.Outcomes of interest were performance(force,number of repetitions,power,time to exhaustion,and time trial performance),physiological measurements(maximum oxygen consumption,and heart rate),or perceptual measurements(RPE).For each outcome measure,we conducted 3 independent meta-analyses(IPC vs.placebo,IPC vs.control,placebo vs.control)using an inverse-variance random-effects model.The between-treatment effects were quantified by the standardized mean difference(SMD),accompanied by their respective 95%confidence intervals.Additionally,we employed the Grading of Recommendations,Assessment,Development and Evaluation(GRADE)approach to assess the level of certainty in the evidence.Results:Seventy-nine studies were included in the quantitative analysis.Overall,IPC demonstrates a comparable effect to the placebo condition(using a low-pressure tourniquet),irrespective of the subjects'training level(all outcomes presenting p>0.05),except for the outcome of time to exhaustion,which exhibits a small magnitude effect(SMD=0.37;p=0.002).Additionally,the placebo exhibited effects notably greater than the control condition(outcome:number of repetitions;SMD=0.45;p=0.03),suggesting a potential influence of participants'cognitive perception on the outcomes.However,the evidence is of moderate to low certainty,regardless of the comparison or outcome.Conclusion:IPC has significant effects compared to the control intervention,but it did not surpass the placebo condition.Its administration might be influenced by the cognitive perception of the receiving subject,and the efficacy of IPC as an ergogenic strategy for enhancing exercise capacity and athletic performance remains questionable.
文摘Background In light of growing concern over eating disorders among young athletes amid cultural and social pressures,this study aimed to assess the prevalence of orthorexia nervosa(ON)risk and evaluate body image perception and its predictive factors among young football players from Poland and Türkiye.Methods The study involved 171 players aged 15–18 years,recruited from football academies in Poland and Türkiye.The Polish and Turkish versions of the Body-Esteem Scale for Adolescents and Adults(BESAA)were administered to assess body image perception,while the Düsseldorf Orthorexia Scale(DOS)was used to measure ON risk.Anthropometric measurements were taken to calculate Body Mass Index(BMI),which was then referenced to centile charts to determine nutritional status.Results Results indicated that 13%of participants exhibited characteristics of ON,with an additional 26%classified as at elevated risk.Comparative analysis revealed no significant differences in ON prevalence between Polish and Turkish players(p=0.938)and no age-related differences(p=0.694).Among Polish players,a significant positive association emerged between BMI(relative to centile charts)and overall appearance evaluation(BE-Appearance)(p=0.008,partialη^(2)=0.10).This relationship was not observed in Turkish players.Moreover,analysis of ON risk predictors—including age,nationality,nutritional status,and body image—did not identify any single variable as a definitive predictor(all p-values>0.05),with a low predictive capacity(McFadden’s R^(2)=0.03).Conclusion The study revealed a significant risk of ON among young footballers with no clear predictors.
文摘OBJECTIVE:To evaluate the effectiveness of cycling in combination with electroacupuncture in treatment of poststroke hemiplegia patients at National Hospital of Acupuncture,Vietnam.METHODS:The study was designed as a single-centre,outcome-assessor-blinded parallel randomised controlled trial with 120 post-stroke hemiplegia patients randomly assigned into two groups:electroacupuncture plus cycling(CT group) and electroacupuncture(AT group).Patients were assessed before and after the treatment(using muscle grading,modified Rankin,Barthel,Orgorozo scores and electromyography).Statistical Man–Whitney U test,and Fisher’s exact tests were used to compare between CT and AT groups.RESULTS:The results reported statistically significant improvement in motor function in patients suffering from hemiplegia following ischemic stroke in both CT and AT groups.Patients in CT group experienced a greater improvement compared to those in AT group including better muscle contraction(increased frequency and amplitude of electromyography and increased muscle grading scale);increased recovery(Orgogozo scale),increased independency(Barthel scale) and decreased disability(Modified Rankin scale)(P < 0.01).CONCLUSIONS:Combination with cycling training significantly improves the recovery of post-stroke patients treated with electroacupuncture.

文摘Objective:The purpose of the study was to compare the preventive care use and health between the elderly living alone and living with other individuals and identify strategies to improve the preventive care use among the elderly living alone.Methods:A questionnaire including socioeconomic characteristics,preventive care use,health status and Social Support Rate Scale was administered to 240 elderly living alone and 244 elderly living with other individuals in Shanghai,China.Logistic regression analysis was used to examine the predictors of preventive care use.Results:The elderly living alone were more likely to be single(never married,divorced,separated and widowed),have lower social support and income,utilize less routine physical check-up and blood glucose screenings,have worse self-reported health and have limitations in IADL compared to the elderly living with other individuals.Women,old age,high education,income and social support and close to medical institutions were positively associated with routine physical check-up among the elderly.Conclusion:Living alone was associated with less preventive care use and worse health.It was important to provide more social support and economic support for the elderly living alone to increase their preventive health care service utilization and improve their health status.
文摘Flavonoids,including fisetin,have been linked to a reduced risk of colorectal cancer(CRC)and have potential therapeutic applications for the condition.Fisetin,a natural flavonoid found in various fruits and vegetables,has shown promise in managing CRC due to its diverse biological activities.It has been found to influence key cell signaling pathways related to inflammation,angiogenesis,apoptosis,and transcription factors.The results of this study demonstrate that fisetin induces colon cancer cell apoptosis through multiple mechanisms.It impacts the p53 pathway,leading to increased levels of p53 and decreased levels of murine double minute 2,contributing to apoptosis induction.Fisetin also triggers the release of important components in the apoptotic process,such as second mitochondria-derived activator of caspase/direct inhibitor of apoptosis-binding protein with low pI and cytochrome c.Furthermore,fisetin inhibits the cyclooxygenase-2 and wingless-related integration site(Wnt)/epidermal growth factor receptor/nuclear factor kappa B signaling pathways,reducing Wnt target gene expression and hindering colony formation.It achieves this by regulating the activities of cyclin-dependent kinase 2 and cyclin-dependent kinase 4,reducing retinoblastoma protein phosphorylation,decreasing cyclin E levels,and increasing p21 levels,ultimately influencing E2 promoter binding factor 1 and cell division cycle 2(CDC2)protein levels.Additionally,fisetin exhibits various effects on CRC cells,including inhibiting the phosphorylation of Y-box binding protein 1 and ribosomal S6 kinase,promoting the phosphorylation of extracellular signal-regulated kinase 1/2,and disrupting the repair process of DNA double-strand breaks.Moreover,fisetin serves as an adjunct therapy for the prevention and treatment of phosphatidylinositol-4,5-bisphosphate 3-kinase catalytic subunitα(PIK3CA)-mutant CRC,resulting in a reduction in phosphatidylinositol-3 kinase(PI3K)expression,Ak strain transforming phosphorylation,m TOR activity,and downstream target proteins in CRC cells with a PIK3CA mutation.These findings highlight the multifaceted potential of fisetin in managing CRC and position it as a promising candidate for future therapy development.

文摘We experimentally study the controllable generation of a beating signal using stored light pulses based on electromagnetically induced transparency(EIT) in a solid medium. The beating signal relies on an asymmetric procedure of light storage and retrieval. After storing the probe pulse into the spin coherence under the EIT condition, two-color control fields with opposite detunings instead of the initial control field are used to scatter the stored spin coherence. The controllable beating signal is generated due to alternative constructive and destructive interferences in the retrieved signal intensities. The beating of the two-color control fields is mapped into the beating of weak probe fields by using atomic spin coherence. This beating signal will be important in precise atomic spectroscopy and fast quantum limited measurements.
