Designers are required to plan for future expansion and also to estimate the grid's future utilization. This means that an effective modeling and forecasting technique, which will use efficiently the information contained in the available data, is required, so that important data properties can be extracted and projected into the future. This study proposes an adaptive method based on the multi-model partitioning algorithm (MMPA), for short-term electricity load forecasting using real data. The grid's utilization is initially modeled using a multiplicative seasonal ARIMA (autoregressive integrated moving average) model. The proposed method uses past data to learn and model the normal periodic behavior of the electric grid. Either ARMA (autoregressive moving average) or state-space models can be used for the load pattern modeling. Load anomalies such as unexpected peaks that may appear during the summer or unexpected faults (blackouts) are also modeled. If the load pattern does not match the normal be-havior of the load, an anomaly is detected and, furthermore, when the pattern matches a known case of anomaly, the type of anomaly is identified. Real data were used and real cases were tested based on the measurement loads of the Hellenic Public Power Cooperation S.A., Athens, Greece. The applied adaptive multi-model filtering algorithm identifies successfully both normal periodic behavior and any unusual activity of the electric grid. The performance of the proposed method is also compared to that produced by the ARIMA model. 展开更多

Internet of Things(IoT)and blockchain receive significant interest owing to their applicability in different application areas such as healthcare, finance, transportation, etc.Medical image security and privacy become a critical part of the healthcare sector where digital images and related patient details are communicated over the public networks. This paper presents a new wind driven optimization algorithm based medical image encryption(WDOA-MIE)technique for blockchain enabled IoT environments. The WDOA-MIE model involves three major processes namely data collection, image encryption, optimal key generation, and data transmission.Initially, the medical images were captured from the patient using IoT devices. Then, the captured images are encrypted using signcryption technique. In addition, for improving the performance of the signcryption technique, the optimal key generation procedure was applied by WDOA algorithm. The goal of the WDOA-MIE algorithm is to derive a fitness function dependent upon peak signal to noise ratio(PSNR).Upon successful encryption of images, the IoT devices transmit to the closest server for storing it in the blockchain securely. The performance of the presented method was analyzed utilizing the benchmark medical image dataset. The security and the performance analysis determine that the presented technique offers better security with maximum PSNR of 60.7036 dB. 展开更多

The aim of this paper is to present a finite element modeling of the dynamic motion of a turbine rotor and its controller design with the mass unbalance under a crack on a rotating shaft. This process is an advanced method to the mathematical description of a system including an influence of a mass unbalance and a crack on the rotor shaft. As the first step, the shaft is physically modeled with a finite element method and the dynamic mathematical model is derived by using the Hamilton principle;thus, the system is represented by various subsystems. The equation of motion of a shaft with a mass unbalance and a crack is established by adapting the local mass unbalance and stiffness change through breathing and gaping from the existence of a crack. This is a reference system for the given system. Based on a fictitious model for transient behavior induced from vibration phenomena measured at the bearings, an elementary estimator is designed for the safety control and detection of a mass unbalance on the shaft. Using the state estimator, a bank of an estimator is established to get the diagnosis and the system data for a controller. 展开更多

Currently, worldwide industries and communities are concerned with building, expanding, and exploring the assets and resources found in the oceans and seas.More precisely,to analyze a stock, archaeology, and surveillance,sev-eral cameras are installed underseas to collect videos. However,on the other hand, these large size videos require a lot of time and memory for their processing to extract relevant information.Hence,to automate this manual procedure of video assessment,an accurate and efficient automated system is a greater necessity. From this perspective,we intend to present a complete framework solution for the task of video summarization and object detection in underwater videos. We employed a perceived motion energy(PME)method tofirst extract the keyframes followed by an object detection model approach namely YoloV3 to perform object detection in underwater videos. The issues of blurriness and low contrast in underwater images are also taken into account in the presented approach by applying the image enhancement method.Furthermore, the suggested framework of underwater video summarization and object detection has been evaluated on a publicly available brackish dataset. It is observed that the proposed framework shows good performance and hence ultimately assists several marine researchers or scientists related to thefield of underwater archaeology, stock assessment, and surveillance. 展开更多
