A total of 35 different fatty acids were determined in gas chromatography. Among these, palmitic, oleic, and palmitoleic acids had the highest proportion. The main polyunsaturated fatty acids (PUFAs) were found to be docosahexaenoic acid, eicosapentaenoic acid, and arachidonic acid. There were more PUFAs than monounsaturated fatty acids (MUFA) in all seasons. Similarly, the percentages of ω3 fatty acids were higher than those of total ω6 fatty acids in the fatty acid composition. ω3/ω6 ratios were calculated as 1.53, 1.32, 1.97, and 1.71 in spring, summer, autumn and winter, respectively. Overall, we found that the fatty acid composition and ω3/ω6 fatty acid ratio in the muscle of northern pike were significantly influenced by season.展开更多

Methods:Isolates were collected from clinical patients with UU infection, and cultured in UU broth. In order to test the different effects on clinical strains of UU, the assays were performed by microdilution inhibition tests, and MICs of the herbs against the clinical strains of UU were calculated. Results:The MICs of eight pure herbs against clinical strains of UU were as follows: Galla Chinensis:0.313-1.25 g/L; Fructus Forsythiae: 1.25-5.00 g/L; Cortex Phellodendri: 1.25-5.00 g/L; Radix Paeoniae Rubra: 1.25-2.50 g/L; Semen Plantaginis:2.50-10.00 g/L; Herba Lysimachiae: 5.00-20.00 g/L; Rhizoma Coptidis: 5.00-20.00g/L, Herba Houttuyniae: 10.00-20.00 g/L. The MICs of compound herbs were: Liuheji: 0.625-2.50 g/L; Bazhengsan: 5.00-20.00 g/L; Wulinsan:2.50-20.0 g/L.Conclusion:Galla Chinensis, Fructus Forsythiae, Cortex Phellodendrim, Radix Paeoniae Rubra, and Semen Plantaginis, exerted the stronger antibacterial effect against clinical strains of UU, whereas Herba Lysimachiae, Rhizoma Coptidis and Herba Houttuyniae, had relatively weaker activity against UU. Compound herbs, Bazhengsan and Wulinsan, and particularly Liuheji, also had antibacterial effects against UU. Further studies of the effects and mechanisms of action of Chinese crude drugs against UU infections are worthwhile.展开更多

The male Wistar rat models of 5/6 subtotal nephrectomy (STNx) were established. Animals were ran- domly divided into 4 groups: sham STNx group (control), STNx group, morning benazepril group (MB) and evening benazepril group (EB). Benazepril was intragastfically administered at a dose of 10 mg/kg/day at 07:00 and 19:00 in the MB group and EB group respectively for 12 weeks. All the animals were synchronized to the light:dark cycle of 12:12 for 12 weeks. Systolic blood pressure (SBP), 24-h urinary protein excretion and renal function were measured at 11 weeks. Blood samples and kidneys were collected every 4 h throughout a day to detect the expression pattern of renin activity (RA), angio- tensin Ⅱ (Ang Ⅱ ) and aldosterone (Aid) by radioimmunoassay (RIA) and the mRNA expression profile of clock genes (bmall, dbp and per2) by real-time PCR at 12 weeks. Our results showed that no signifi- cant differences were noted in the SBP, 24-h urine protein excretion and renal function between the MB and EB groups. There were no significant differences in average Aid and RA content of a day between the MB group and EB group. The expression peak of bmall mRNA was phase-delayed by 4 to 8 h, and the diurnal variation of per2 and dbp mRNA diminished in the MB and EB groups compared with the control and STNx groups. 文摘The measurement of trace elements in Antarctic snow is crucial for understanding historical atmospheric geochemical changes and circulation patterns. However, studies on their spatial distributions remain limited, particularly those evaluating multiple metals across several snowpits, making interpretation challenging. This study investigates the distributions and sources of trace elements-including Cd,Ba,Pb,U,Bi,V,Mn,Fe,Cu,Zn,and As-across four snowpits in the Lambert Glacier Basin,East Antarctica. The trace elements exhibit site-,element-,and season-dependent variations, with higher concentrations observed at inland sites. In contrast,δ^(18)O and ion concentrations decrease with increasing distance from the coast and elevation, underscoring the influence of marine emissions.Crustal sources primarily contributed to Ba,U,V,Mn,and Fe,while non-crustal sources predominantly contributed to Cd,Bi,Zn,Pb,Cu,and As.Positive matrix factorization(PMF)analysis indicates that trace element concentrations in Pits 2 and 3 are influenced by both crustal and non-crustal sources, while Pit 4 reflects a mixed-source influence.Pit 1(coastal site)also indicates the mixed sources with influence of a highly dynamic marine climate and environment. The PMF results reveal similarities in emission sources and atmospheric transport patterns across the snowpits, facilitating a more comprehensive interpretation of longer ice core records.Overall, this study provides valuable insights into trace element distributions and enhances our understanding of past environmental and climatic conditions.

文摘Objective To determine the correlation between traditional Chinese medicine(TCM)inspec-tion of spirit classification and the severity grade of depression based on facial features,offer-ing insights for intelligent intergrated TCM and western medicine diagnosis of depression. Methods Using the Audio-Visual Emotion Challenge and Workshop(AVEC 2014)public dataset on depression, which conclude 150 interview videos, the samples were classified ac-cording to the TCM inspection of spirit classification:Deshen(得神,presence of spirit),Shaoshen(少神,insufficiency of spirit),and Shenluan(神乱,confusion of spirit).Meanwhile, based on Beck Depression Inventory-II(BDI-II)score for the severity grade of depression, the samples were divided into minimal(0-13,Q1),mild(14-19,Q2),moderate(20-28,Q3),and severe(29-63,Q4).Sixty-eight landmarks were extracted with a ResNet-50 network, and the feature extracion mode was stadardized.Random forest and support vectior machine(SVM)classifiers were used to predict TCM inspection of spirit classification and the severity grade of depression, respectively.A Chi-square test and Apriori association rule mining were then applied to quantify and explore the relationships. Results The analysis revealed a statistically significant and moderately strong association be-tween TCM spirit classification and the severity grade of depression,as confirmed by a Chi-square test(χ^(2)=14.04,P=0.029)with a Cramer’s V effect size of 0.243.Further exploration us-ing association rule mining identified the most compelling rule:“moderate depression(Q3)→Shenluan”.This rule demonstrated a support level of 5%,indicating this specific co-occur-rence was present in 5%of the cohort.Crucially,it achieved a high Confidence of 86%,mean-ing that among patients diagnosed with Q3,86%exhibited the Shenluan pattern according to TCM assessment. The substantial Lift of 2.37 signifies that the observed likelihood of Shenlu-an manifesting in Q3 patients is 2.37 times higher than would be expected by chance if these states were independent-compelling evidence of a highly non-random association.Conse-quently,Shenluan emerges as a distinct and core TCM diagnostic manifestation strongly linked to Q3,forming a clinically significant phenotype within this patient subgroup.

文摘BACKGROUND Constipation is one of the chronic gastrointestinal functional diseases. It seriously affects the quality of life.Cistanche deserticola(C.deserticola)can treat constipation obviously, but its mechanism has not been clarified. We supposed that mechanism of it improved the intestinal motility by stimulating interstitial Cajal cells(ICC).Activation of the C-kit receptor on the surface of ICC is closely related to ICC function, and the stem cell factor(SCF)/C-kit signaling pathways plays an important role on it.To investigate the mechanism of how C.deserticola treats constipation, this study aimed to establish a constipation model in rats and explore the role of SCF/C-kit signaling pathway in the treatment.AIM To explore the SCF/C-kit signaling pathways in the role of C.deserticola for treatment of constipation by a constipation rat model.METHODS Forty-eight 8-mo-old Sprague–Dawley rats were divided into 4 groups by random weight method:Normal group(n=12),model group(n=12),C.deserticola group(n=12)and blocker group(n=12).The normal group received normal saline by gavage;the model group received loperamide by gavage;the blocker group received loperamide and C.deserticola by gavage, and STI571 was injected by intraperitoneally.During treatment, the weight, fecal granules and fecal quality were recorded every 10 d.On day 20 after model induction, the colon tissues of each group were removed.Hematoxylin and eosin staining was used to observe pathological changes.Expression levels of SCF,C-kit and Aquaporin genes were detected by immunohistochemistry, western blotting, and real-time-quantitative polymerase chain reaction. The colonic epithelial mitochondria and goblet cells were observed by transmission electron microscopy.RESULTS Compared with the normal group,as treatment progressed, the weight of rats in the model and blocker groups decreased significantly, the stool weight decreased, and the stool quality was dry(P<0.05).C.deserticola reversed the decrease in body weight and stool weight and improved stool quality.Histopathological analysis indicated that the colonic mucosal epithelium in the model group was incomplete, and the arrangement of the glands was irregular or damaged.Treatment with C.deserticola improved the integrity and continuity of the epithelial cells and regular arrangement of the glands. The blocking agents inhibited the effects of C.deserticola Immunohistochemistry and real-timequantitative polymerase chain reaction showed that expression of SCF and C-kit protein or genes in the colonic tissue of the model group was decreased(P<0.05),while treatment with C.deserticola increased protein or gene expression(P<0.05).Western blotting showed that expression of aquaporin APQ3 was increased, while the expression of Cx43 decreased in the model group.Treatment with C.deserticola inhibited expression of APQ3 and promoted expression of Cx43.Transmission electron microscopy showed that the mitochondria of the colonic epithelium in the model group were swollen and arranged disorderly, and microvilli were sparse. The condition was better in the C.deserticola group.Mice treated with STI571 blocker confirmed that blocking the SCF/C-kit pathway inhibited the improvement of constipation by C.deserticola.CONCLUSION C.deserticola improved defecation in rats with constipation, and the SCF/C-kit signaling pathway, which is a key link of ICC function, played an important role of the treatment.

文摘Atorvastatin has been shown to reduce early brain edema and neuronal death after subarachnoid hemorrhage, but its mechanism is not clear. In this study, rat models of subarachnoid hemorrhage were established by autologous blood injection in the cisterna magna.Rat models were intragastrically administered 20 mg/kg atorvastatin 24 hours before subarachnoid hemorrhage,12 and 36 hours after subarachnoid hemorrhage.Compared with the controls, atorvastatin treatment demonstrated that at 72 hours after subarachnoid hemorrhage, neurological function had clearly improved;brain edema was remarkably relieved;cell apoptosis was markedly reduced in the cerebral cortex of rats;the number of autophagy-related protein Beclin-1-positive cells and the expression levels of Beclin-1 and LC3 were increased compared with subarachnoid hemorrhage only. The ultrastructural damage of neurons in the temporal lobe was also noticeably alleviated. The similarities between the effects of atorvastatin and rapamycin were seen in all the measured outcomes of subarachnoid hemorrhage. However, these were contrary to the results of 3-methyladenine injection, which inhibits the signaling pathway of autophagy. These findings indicate that atorvastatin plays an early neuroprotective role in subarachnoid hemorrhage by activating autophagy. The experimental protocol was approved by the Animal Ethics Committee of Anhui Medical University,China(904 Hospital of Joint Logistic Support Force of PLA;approval No.YXLL-2017-09)on February 22,2017.

文摘The development of lead-free solders has emerged as one of the key issues in the electronics packaging industries.Bi-Sn-Ag eutectic alloy has been considered as one of the lead-free solder materials that can replace the toxic Pb-Sn eutectic solder without increasing soldering temperature. We investigated the effects of temperature gradient and growth rate on the mechanical, electrical and thermal properties of the BiSn-Ag ternary eutectic alloy.Bi-47 wt%Sn-0.68 wt%Ag alloy was directionally solidified upward with different temperature gradients(G=2.33-5.66 K/mm) at a constant growth rate(V=13.25 μm/s) and with different growth rates(V=6.55-132.83 μm/s) at a constant temperature gradient(G=2.33 K/mm) in the growth apparatus. The microstructures(λ),microhardness(HV),tensile stress(σ),electrical resistivity(ρ),and thermal properties(△H,Cp,Tm) were measured on directionally solidified samples. The dependency of the λ,HV,σ,and ρ on G and V was investigated.According to the experimental results,X values decrease with increasing G and V,but HV,λ,and ρ values increase with increasing G and V.Variations of electrical resistivity(ρ) for cast samples with the temperature in the range of 300-400 K were also measured by using a standard dc four-point probe technique. The enthalpy of fusion(△H) and specific heat(Cp) for the same alloy was also determined by means of differential scanning calorimeter(DSC) from heating trace during the transformation from eutectic liquid to eutectic solid.
文摘In the present study, the effects of season on fatty acid composition, total lipids, and ω3/ω6 ratios of northern pike muscle lipids in Klzlhrmak River (Klrlkkale, Turkey) were investigated. Overall, we found that the fatty acid composition and ω3/ω6 fatty acid ratio in the muscle of northern pike were significantly influenced by season.

文摘Paris saponinⅦ(PSⅦ),a bioactive constituent extracted from Trillium tschonoskii Maxim.,is cytotoxic to several cancer types. This study was designed to explore whether PSⅦprevents non-small-cell lung cancer(NSCLC)proliferation and to investigate its molecular target.AMP-activated protein kinase(AMPK)has been implicated in the activation of autophagy in distinct tissues. In cultured human NSCLC cell lines,PSⅦinduces autophagy by activating AMPK and inhibiting m TOR signaling.Furthermore,PSⅦ-induced autophagy activation was reversed by the AMPK inhibitor compound C.Computational docking analysis showed that PSⅦdirectly interacted with the allosteric drug and metabolite site of AMPK to stabilize its activation.Microscale thermophoresis assay and drug affinity responsive target stability assay further confirmed the high affinity between PSⅦand AMPK.In summary,PSⅦacts as a direct AMPK activator to induce cell autophagy, which inhibits the growth of NSCLC cells. In the future,PSⅦtherapy should be applied to treat patients with NSCLC.

文摘BACKGROUND People with achalasia typically have a thick lower esophageal muscularis propria(LEMP),and peroral endoscopic myotomy(POEM)has been effective in treating most patients.LEMP thickness may be associated with the outcomes and prognosis after POEM.However, more evidence is needed regarding the relationship between LEMP thickness and patient prognosis after POEM.AIM To assess the association between LEMP thickness, measured using endoscopic ultrasound(EUS),and long-term prognosis, especially relapse, after POEM for achalasia.METHODS All medical records, including EUS data,of patients who underwent POEM to treat achalasia at Shengjing Hospital of China Medical University from January 2012 to September 2018 were retrospectively reviewed.LEMP thickness was measured by EUS,and a thickness of≥3 mm was defined as thickened. The severity of patient symptoms was evaluated using the Eckardt score.Relapse was defined as a 3-point rise in the Eckardt score after a period of clinical remission. The relationship between patient characteristics, muscle thickness, and recurrence was analyzed.RESULTS Eighty-two patients(32 males and 50 females, aged 17-78 years)and 85 POEM procedures were included. In total,76.8%(63/82 patients)of patients had a thickened muscularis propria.Older age and longer disease course were associated with muscularis propria thickening(P<0.05).The mean postoperative follow-up time was 35.4±17.2 mo(range,8-87.5 mo)in 60 patients.Five patients with Eckardt scores>3 refused further management after their symptoms were relieved. The relapse rate was 12.73%(7/55 cases).Five patients, four of whom had muscularis propria thickening, had disease recurrence within 12 mo after the procedure.Achalasia relapsed in one patient who had a thickened muscularis propria after 24 mo and in another patient who did not have a thickened muscularis propria after 30 mo.Patients with recurrence were typically younger and had a shorter disease course(P<0.05).The relapse rate in patients with a non-thickened muscularis propria tended to be higher(18.2%,2/11 patients)than that in patients with a thickened muscularis propria(11.4%,5/44 patients),although no significant difference was found.Age(hazard ratio=0.92;95%confidence interval:0.865-0.979;P<0.05)and being male(hazard ratio=7.173;95%confidence interval:1.277-40.286;P<0.05)were identified as risk factors for symptomatic recurrence by multivariable analysis using the Cox model.CONCLUSION Patients with a thickened muscularis are typically older and have a longer disease course.Younger age and the male sex are associated with increased recurrence.Patients with a thin muscularis propria may be prone to relapse, although further validation is needed.

文摘Land-use and plant invasion influence biodiversity.Understanding the effects of land-use types and invasive plants on the ecosystem is crucial for better management and the development of strategic plans for increasing biodiversity in Jeju Island,Korea,a designated Biosphere Reserve by the United Nations Education,Scientific, and Cultural Organization. The effect of the most dominant invasive exotic species,Hypochaeris radicata,on the four land-use types of Jeju Island was investigated.Plant composition, soil characteristics, and plant diversity among four land-use types(cropland, green space, neglected land, and residential)were compared.Among the land-use types, croplands had the most diverse plant composition and the highest richness in exotic and native plant species.Croplands, such as tangerine orchards, which are widely distributed throughout Jeju Island, showed the highest plant diversity because of medium intensity disturbance caused by weed removal. The relative cover of H.radicata did not differ between land-use types.However,H.radicata invasion was negatively related with plant species richness, making this invasive species a threat to the biodiversity of native herbs present in land-use areas.H.radicata adapts to areas with a broad range of soil properties and a variety of land-use types. Therefore,it is crucial to monitor land-use types and patterns of plant invasion to guide the implementation of consistent management and conservation strategies for maintaining ecosystem integrity of the transformed habitat in Jeju Island.
文摘Objective:To explore the antibacterial effect of Chinese crude drugs against clinical strains of Ureaplasma urealyticum(UU), including eight pure herbs and three compound herbs, and determine their minimal inhibitory concentrations(MICs). Further studies of the effects and mechanisms of action of Chinese crude drugs against UU infections are worthwhile.

文摘Summary: This study investigated the effects of benazepril administered in the morning or evening on the diurnal variation of renin-angiotensin-aldosterone system (RAAS) and clock genes in the kidney. It was concluded when the similar SBP reduction, RAAS inhibition and clock gene profile were achieved with optimal dose of benazepril, morning versus evening dosing of benazepril has the same renoprotection effects.

文摘Zn-5wt% Al eutectic alloy was directionally solidified with different growth rates (5.32-250.0μm/s) at a constant temperature gradient of 8.50 K/mm using a Bridgman-type growth apparatus. The values of eutectic spacing were measured from transverse sections of the samples. The dependences of the eutectic spacing and undercooling on growth rate are determined as λ=9.21V-0.53 and ΔT=0.0245V0.53,respectively.The results obtained in this work were compared with the Jackson-Hunt eutectic theory and the similar experimental results in the literature.Microhardness of directionally solidified samples was also measured by using a microhardness test device. The dependency of the microhardness on growth rate is found as Hv=115.64V0.13.Afterwards,the electrical resistivity (r) of the casting alloy changes from 40×10-9 to 108×10-9 Ω·m with the temperature rising in the range of 300-630 K.The enthalpy of fusion (ΔH) and specific heat (Cp) for the Zn-Al eutectic alloy are calculated to be 113.37 J/g and 0.309 J/(g·K),respectively by means of differential scanning calorimetry (DSC) from heating trace during the transformation from liquid to solid.

文摘BACKGROUND: Previously, time data were analyzed by using constituent ratio or relative ratio; however, circular statistical analysis could exactly provide average peak phase of diseases. OBJECTIVE: To investigate the correlation of solar term peak with onset and death of acute ischemic stroke. DESIGN: Retrospective case analysis. SETTINGS: Emergency Department of Foshan Municipal Hospital of Traditional Chinese Medicine; Department of Science and Education, the Second People's Hospital of Foshan. PARTICIPANTS: A total of 1 597 patients with acute ischemic stroke were selected from Emergency Room, Department of Neurology, Foshan Municipal Hospital of Traditional Chinese Medicine from 1994 to 2002. There were 875 males and 722 females, and their ages ranged from 33 to 97 years. All cases met the diagnostic criteria of acute cerebral infarction modified by the Second National Cerebrovascular Disease Academic Meeting; meanwhile, they were diagnosed with CT/MRI test. Patients and their relatives provided the confirmed consent. METHODS: Solar term of onset was retrospectively analyzed in 1 597 patients with acute ischemic stroke; among them, solar term of death in 90 cases were analyzed by using circular statistical analysis to calculate peak phase of onset and death of acute ischemic stroke and investigate the correlation of solar term with onset and death of acute ischemic stroke. MAIN OUTCOME MEASURES: Onset and death time of patients with acute ischemic stroke. RESULTS: Solar term of onset in 1 597 patients, especially solar term of death in 90 patients, was not concentrated (P 〉 0.05), and specific peak phase was not found out. Acute ischemic stroke low attacked from vernal equinox to summer begins, but death caused by acute ischemic stroke high attacked from grain buds to autumn begins. CONCLUSION: Patients with acute ischemic stroke do not have specific solar term peak of onset and death.
文摘BACKGROUND At present, there is controversy on the role of microvessel density(MVD)in tumors as a prognostic indicator of bladder transitional cell carcinoma(BTCC).However, the MVD in tumors is simply classified based on the expression of several different vascular markers, which has not been related to analytical research on the prognosis of patients with BTCC.AIM To explore the classification of blood vessels in tumors and studied the relationship between MVD and the prognosis of patients with BTCC.METHODS The tissue mass was detected by tissue microarray and immunohistochemical analysis with monoclonal antibodies against CD31,CD34,CD105,and vascular smooth muscle actin to investigate the MVD in BTCC.The measurement data are expressed as the mean±SD.The difference between the groups was analyzed by the t-test,the counting data were analyzed byχ2 test. The Kaplan-Meier survival curve was estimated by the product-limit method. The log-rank time-series test was employed to compare the tumor-free survival curves.RESULTS The MVD was closely related to the pathological grade, invasive depth, and prognosis of BTCC.Significant differences were found between grade I and grade II,grade II and grade III,superficial and invasive type, and the tumor-free survival group and the recurrence or metastasis group(P<0.01).Multivariate analysis showed that undifferentiated MVD was an independent prognostic factor for patient survival time.An inverse correlation between undifferentiated tumor MVD and differentiated tumor MVD in BTCC was also shown.CONCLUSION The classification of blood vessels in BTCC could act as an important prognostic indicator and may also be of great significance in the treatment of cancer.
