Offshore support operations must balance safety and sustainability under highly variable sea conditions.Deterministic motion analyses can underestimate extreme vessel responses,leading to insufficient operational limi...Offshore support operations must balance safety and sustainability under highly variable sea conditions.Deterministic motion analyses can underestimate extreme vessel responses,leading to insufficient operational limits and increased environmental impact.We develop a fuzzy‐enhanced multi‐body dynamics framework in which key inputs significant wave height,peak period,added mass,and radiation damping are represented as fuzzy numbers.Anα-cut decomposition yields interval bounds at each confidence level,and a fourth-order Runge-Kutta scheme integrates the six-degree-of-freedom equations of motion for both lower and upper“vertex”systems.A case study off the Karnataka coast applies both full 6-DoF and single-DOF heave approximations to demonstrate methodology.The heave response envelopes under calm(nominalα=1:0.73 m;full range atα=0:0.64–1.64 m)and severe(nominal 1.58 m;range 1.32–2.36 m)sea states reveal potential underestimations of 124%and 49%,respectively,when using only nominal values.By selecting an operationalα-level(e.g.,α^(*)=0.35 to cap heave≤1.8 m),decision-makers can balance risk tolerance and conservatism.Sensitivity analysis identifies significant wave height as the dominant uncertainty driver.Computational trade-offs and adaptiveα-sampling strategies are discussed.This work provides a self-contained,uncertainty-aware tool for deriving operational envelopes that improve risk-informed planning and enable fuel-efficiency optimization.By embedding fuzzy uncertainty quantification into vessel dynamics,the methodology supports safer,more sustainable marine operations and can be extended to real-time sensor fusion,multi-vessel interactions,and frequency-dependent hydrodynamics.展开更多
BACKGROUND The present study investigated perfectionism from the bioecological model perspective as a multidimensional construct manifested in forms of excessively high personal standards,exaggerated worries about per...BACKGROUND The present study investigated perfectionism from the bioecological model perspective as a multidimensional construct manifested in forms of excessively high personal standards,exaggerated worries about personal mistakes,doubt in one’s performance,oversized order and organization emphasis,and the importance of parental valuations and expectations.AIM To investigate the relation between perfectionism;the quality of family,peer,and college relationships;and media usage and content interests.METHODS The research was implemented in 2020 with 203 students(134 female,66%)aged 18-25 years,enrolled at the University of Osijek in Croatia.The questionnaire had five parts:A)sociodemographic data;B)the Multidimensional Perfectionism Scale;C)the“general life satisfaction”and“current situational life satisfaction”scale;D)family,peer,and college relationships quality scale;and E)media usage and content interests scale.All of the implemented instruments showed satisfactory reliability.A hierarchical regression analysis was implemented with the aim of establishing significant perfectionism predictors.RESULTS Age and gender were significant predictors of perfectionism.Participants with lower family relationship quality reported higher parental expectations and complaining as well as significantly higher doubts in personal performance and concern about mistakes.Similarly,a lower peer relationship quality predicted doubts in personal performance and stronger concerns about mistakes.The quality of college relationships positively predicted higher perfectionist personal standards and organization.General life satisfaction predicted higher concerns about mistakes,while current situational life satisfaction predicted higher levels of perfectionist organization.Media usage intensity had no significant effect.Adolescent interest in information-educational media predicted higher personal standards as well as concern about mistakes and organization.Higher interests in entertainment media content predicted more concern about mistakes,while interest in negative media content negatively predicted organization in adolescents.CONCLUSION Sociodemographic traits,relationships with family,peers and colleagues,as well as life satisfaction and media content interests represent significant adolescent perfectionism predictors,explaining 14%-28%of individual perfectionism dimensions.展开更多

The analysis was carried out...We intend to establish how species diversity is dealt with, within the study of the ecosystem, in books for the 4th year of Compulsory Secondary Education, ESO （15-16 year-old students）. The analysis was carried out using a key issues dossier based on school science, which not only provides a description of reality, but also introduces a theoretical explanatory framework. Regarding species diversity, we focused on the descriptive approach, considering the link between diversity and trophic relationships, ecological succession and ecosystem stability through change, consequences for biodiversity of human activities and mechanisms to face such consequences; and on the explanatory perspective, which provides an interpretative answer for all the aspects previously mentioned. The findings drawn from textbooks show that biodiversity is linked both to the study of the ecosystem and to the impact of human societies on its maintenance. However, such study is particularly focused on the descriptive, rather than on the explanatory level. So, teachers should improve the study of biodiversity foresting a balance between descriptive and explanatory level.展开更多
At present,a great deal of historical gender prejudice is still visible in society.It is essential to eliminate these invisible barriers that impede achieving real equality between men and women.This article seeks to ...At present,a great deal of historical gender prejudice is still visible in society.It is essential to eliminate these invisible barriers that impede achieving real equality between men and women.This article seeks to provide a vision of the perception of primary school girls and boys regarding the masculine and feminine genders.A questionnaire was given to groups of schoolchildren in different locations,including rural areas and large cities such as Madrid,the capital of Spain.In addition to detect prejudice toward one of the two genders,some of the most often repeated answers were taken into account.On several occasions,one of the two sexes,or the two,was linked to intelligence or to the ideal of beauty.However,differences were not observed in all cases.Comments are made on the most relevant data regarding the predisposition among children to link girls with more passive attitudes than boys.For many years,society has fought to achieve real equality between the two sexes.However,there is still a great deal to be done,and the younger generations have the responsibility of succeeding in having the two sexes live together in a more egalitarian society.The role of education is to encourage this process.展开更多

Facial expressions in nonhuman primates are complex processes involving psychological,emotional,and physiological factors,and may use subtle signals to communicate significant information.However,uncertainty surrounds...Facial expressions in nonhuman primates are complex processes involving psychological,emotional,and physiological factors,and may use subtle signals to communicate significant information.However,uncertainty surrounds the functional significance of subtle facial expressions in animals.Using artificial intelligence(AI),this study found that nonhuman primates exhibit subtle facial expressions that are undetectable by human observers.We focused on the golden snub-nosed monkeys(Rhinopithecus roxellana),a primate species with a multilevel society.We collected 3427 front-facing images of monkeys from 275 video clips captured in both wild and laboratory settings.Three deep learning models,EfficientNet,RepMLP,and Tokens-To-Token ViT,were utilized for AI recognition.To compare the accuracy of human performance,two groups were recruited:one with prior animal observation experience and one without any such experience.The results showed human observers to correctly detect facial expressions(32.1%for inexperienced humans and 45.0%for experienced humans on average with a chance level of 33%).In contrast,the AI deep learning models achieved significantly higher accuracy rates.The best-performing model achieved an accuracy of 94.5%.Our results provide evidence that golden snub-nosed monkeys exhibit subtle facial expressions.The results further our understanding of animal facial expressions and also how such modes of communication may contribute to the origin of complex primate social systems.展开更多
