CTCs could be used as non-invasive source of clinical information in early diagnosis of cancer and evaluation of cancer development. In recent years, CTC research has become a hotspot field wherein many novel CTC detection technologies based on microfluidics have been developed. Great advances have been made that exhibit obvious technical advantages, but cannot yet satisfy the current clinical requirements. In this study, we review the main advances in isolation and detection methods of CTC based on microfluidics research over several years, propose five technical indicators for evaluating these methods, and explore the application prospects. We also discuss the concepts, issues, approaches, advantages, limitations, and challenges with an aim of stimulating a broader interest in developing microfluidics-based CTC detection technology.展开更多
Aiming at localizing the telemetric capsule for detecting gastrointestinal physiological parameters in vivo accurately,a portable alternating current(AC)electromagnetic localization system is designed.To verify the fe...Aiming at localizing the telemetric capsule for detecting gastrointestinal physiological parameters in vivo accurately,a portable alternating current(AC)electromagnetic localization system is designed.To verify the feasibility of the method,the model and construction of the localization system are detailed.And static and dynamic accuracy of the localization system are tested by experiments.Next,we compare the simulating results of the electromagnetic radiation aroused by the localization system with the electromagnetic safety standards of human(ICNIRP guidelines and IEEE standard C95.1-1991).Finally,in terms of the results of the static and dynamic experiments,conclusions are drawn that the accuracy of portable positioning system is high(less than 10 mm)enough to satisfy the localization need of the micro invasive medical devices in vivo,and there is no harm of electromagnetic radiation to human.展开更多

An integer programming model...Scheduling projects at the activity level increases the complexity of decision making of project portfolio selection but also expands the search space to include better project portfolios. An integer programming model is formulated for the project portfolio selection and scheduling problem. An iterative multi-unit combinatorial auction algorithm is proposed to select and schedule project portfolios through a distributed bidding mechanism. Two price update schemes are designed to adopt either a standard or an adaptive Walrasian tatonnement process. Computational tests show that the proposed auction algorithm with the adaptive price update scheme selects and schedules project portfolios effectively and maximizes the total net present value. The price profile generated by the algorithm also provides managerial insights for project managers and helps to manage the scarce resources efficiently.展开更多
