Guided by the concept of“assessment for learning,”the role of feedback and educational measurement in teaching is evolving from merely evaluating outcomes to actively regulating learning processes.This study focuses...Guided by the concept of“assessment for learning,”the role of feedback and educational measurement in teaching is evolving from merely evaluating outcomes to actively regulating learning processes.This study focuses on optimizing senior high school English reading teaching through feedback-driven strategies,emphasizing the critical support provided by instructional measurement.It first clarifies the theoretical underpinnings and essential functions of teaching measurement,including diagnosis of learning gaps,dynamic regulation of instruction,and sustained motivation for learners.The study then examines how diverse assessment tools-such as in-class quizzes,formative reading tasks,and performance-based activities-are effectively integrated into reading teaching to capture students’comprehension depth,reasoning patterns,and language application skills.By illustrating practical strategies for transforming measurement data into meaningful feedback,it highlights how teachers can provide targeted guidance that fosters reflective learning.Furthermore,the research proposes a“measurement-assessment-teaching-learning”closed-loop mechanism to ensure continuous alignment between instructional goals and learning processes.Findings suggest that embedding formative assessment and diversified measurement approaches into English reading lessons not only improves students’feedback literacy and self-regulation abilities but also enhances teachers’capacity to make informed pedagogical adjustments.Ultimately,this approach promotes a shift from an exclusive focus on end results to a holistic process-oriented perspective,offering both practical insights for classroom teachers and theoretical contributions to future research on feedback and assessment integration.This study adopts a qualitative case analysis approach,incorporating classroom observations,student artifacts,and interviews to explore the implementation of feedback strategies and measurement tools.The findings reveal that feedback-driven teaching enhances students’self-regulation and metacognitive awareness,while also informing pedagogical adjustments.These insights contribute both to classroom practices and to the theoretical discourse on formative assessment in English language education.展开更多

Not much research has been done on motivation to study a second,third or even fourth foreign language though learners of such languages have been increasing.To contribute to this,the present study examined German lear...Not much research has been done on motivation to study a second,third or even fourth foreign language though learners of such languages have been increasing.To contribute to this,the present study examined German learning motivation of Chinese university students at different proficiency levels.A total of 297 German learners at three different proficiency levels at a university in Beijing filled in the questionnaires,of whom 191 answered the open-ended question and 50 were informally interviewed.Analyses of the data revealed the following major findings;(1)most respondents at cach proficiency level had limited access to and little chance to use German,liked the language,studied it(very)hard and did not think the language was difficult,(2)students at different proficiency levels studied German for similar reasons such as major study/research,further education,future career,interest in foreign language learning and German,and(3)students at higher proficiency levels perceived German to be more difficult and worked harder on it.Students at higher proficiency levels were both integratively and instrumentally more motivated to study German and had greater motivation intensity as well.It is clear that students at different proficiency levels were motivated to study German and that students at the advanced level tended to be more integratively motivated than those at the beginning level.Based on these findings,some suggestions are discussed.展开更多

This study aims to provide guidance on the syntactic features ...The rhetorical structure of abstracts has been a widely discussed topic, as it can greatly enhance the abstract writing skills of second-language writers. This study aims to provide guidance on the syntactic features that L2 learners can employ, as well as suggest which features they should focus on in English academic writing. To achieve this, all samples were analyzed for rhetorical moves using Hyland’s five-rhetorical move model. Additionally, all sentences were evaluated for syntactic complexity, considering measures such as global, clausal and phrasal complexity. The findings reveal that expert writers exhibit a more balanced use of syntactic complexity across moves, effectively fulfilling the rhetorical objectives of abstracts. On the other hand, MA students tend to rely excessively on embedded structures and dependent clauses in an attempt to increase complexity. The implications of these findings for academic writing research, pedagogy, and assessment are thoroughly discussed.展开更多

In the 1990s runoff of Tangnaihai Hydrologic Station of the Huanghe River experienced a serious decrease, which had attracted considerable attention. Climate changes have important impact on the water resources availability. From the view of water cycling, runoff coefficients are important indexes of water resources in a particular catchment. Kalinin baseflow separation technique was improved based on the characteristics of precipitation and streamflow. After the separation of runoff coefficient (R/P), baseflow coefficient (Br/P) and direct runoff coefficient (Dr/P) were estimated. Statistic analyses were applied to assessing the impact of precipitation and temperature on runoff coefficients (including Dr/P, Br/P and R/P). The results show that in the source regions of the Huanghe River, mean annual baseflow coefficient was higher than mean annual direct runoff coefficient. Annual runoff coefficients were in direct proportion to annual precipitation and in inverse proportion to annual mean temperature. The decrease of runoff coefficients in the 1990s was closely related to the decrease in precipitation and increase in temperature in the same period. Over different sub-basins of the source regions of the Huanghe River, runoff coefficients responded differently to precipitation and temperature. In the area above Jimai Hydrologic Station where annual mean temperature is -3.9℃, temperature is the main factor influencing the runoff coefficients. Runoff coefficients were in inverse relation to temperature, and precipitation had nearly no impact on runoff coefficients. In subbasin between Jimai and Maqu Hydrologic Station Dr/P was mainly affected by precipitation while R/P and Br/P were both significantly influenced by precipitation and temperature. In the area between Maqu and Tangnaihai hydrologic stations all the three runoff coefficients increased with the rising of annual precipitation, while direct runoff coefficient was inversely proportional to temperature. In the source regions of the Huanghe River with the increase of average annual temperature, the impacts of temperature on runoff coefficients become insignificant.展开更多

Among the technologies of cultivating new species of flowers, mutagenic breeding is a shortcut. This study treated corm bud of G. hybridus Hort with EMS of different consistency. Then M1 after treated was analyzed by RAPD. The result showed that EMS was a very effective mutagenic agent for the corm bud of G. hybridus Hort. With the increase of consistency, the mutagenic range increased first, then decreased, among which 0.6% EMS treatment had the biggest influence. However, with the same EMS consistency, there was not close relevancy between the amount of mutagenic agent and the divergence of plant's genomes, which offered a molecular basis for selecting plants with good mutation.展开更多

Based on Rogers' learner-centered humanistic teaching approach which emphasizes students' involvement and experiences in learning, EFMH puts students and their practice in a central place. After four-year exploration and operation, the Forum has developed from a small-scaled embryo into an internationalized, standardized and professionalized event, having produced fruitful outcomes. It is expected that the success of EFMH will provide inspiring experiences and enlightenments for higher medical education in terms of academic English teaching and teachers' responsibilities to foster high-quality medical students.展开更多

Methods: Prospective nonrandomized controlled trial was ...Objective: To compare patient-reported outcomes after implantation of the ZA9003 intraocular lens(IOLs), or the MCX11 ASP IOLs or the spherical IOLs(HQ-201HEP). Methods: Prospective nonrandomized controlled trial was used. A total of 105 patients(210 eyes) were divided into three groups according to the type of IOLs: ZA9003(35 patients, 70 eyes), MCX11 ASP(35 patients, 70 eyes) or HQ-201HEP(35 patients, 70 eyes). The main outcome was scores of Catquest nine-item short-form questionnaire. Additional outcome was best corrected visual acuities, spherical aberration(SA) and total higher-order aberrations(HOAs). Results: The global score was significantly lower in the spherical IOL group than the aspherical IOL group of-020 μm SA(P < 0.05) and the aspherical IOL group of-027 μm SA(P < 0.05), and no significant difference was found in the global score between the aspherical IOL group of-020 μm SA than the aspherical IOL group of-027 μm SA(P > 0.05). Significant differences were also found in question 2, question 5, question 6 and question 8 between the spherical IOLs and the aspherical IOLs. Conclusion: Implantation of an aspherical IOL could improve vision-related quality of life compared with a spherical IOL. However, there were no statistically significant differences in vision-related quality of life between aspheric IOLs with different negative spherical aberrations.展开更多

The permittivity, resonant frequency and dielectric loss of the composites have been measured under vertical stress and temperature, and the variety of the material properties under pressure and temperature could also be obtained. The pressure and temperature stability of the composites have been assessed through experiments. The data of these two types of composites indicated that the stability of 1-342 composite with pressure was better than that of 1-3 composite, and two composites have almost the same dielectric stability with temperature. However, 1-3-2 composite showed slower frequency variation than 1-3 composite.展开更多

A white emitting phosphor of YAl33(BO3)4:Ce+,Dy3+is synthesized by a solid state reaction,and its luminescent properties are investigated.Its phase formation is carried out with X-ray powder diffraction analysis,and t...A white emitting phosphor of YAl33(BO3)4:Ce+,Dy3+is synthesized by a solid state reaction,and its luminescent properties are investigated.Its phase formation is carried out with X-ray powder diffraction analysis,and there is no crystalline phase other than YAl3(BO3)4.YAl3(BO3)4:Ce3+can produce 422 nm blue emission under 367 nm excitation.The emission spectrum of YAl33(BO3)4:Dy+shows several emission peaks under 350 nm excitation,and the peaks locate at485 nm,575 nm and 668 nm,respectively.Emission intensities of Ce3+and Dy3+in YAl3(BO3)4 are influenced by their concentrations,and the concentration quenching effect is observed.Energy transfer from Ce3+to Dy3+in YAl3(BO3)4 is validated and proved to be a resonant type via a quadrupole-quadrupole interaction,and the emission color can be tuned from blue to white by tuning the ratio of Ce3+/Dy3+.Moreover,the critical distance(Rc)of Ce3+to Dy3+in YAl3(BO3)4 is calculated to be 1.904 nm.展开更多

In contrast, 77% of the respondents believe that medical organization are not able to protect personal genetic information from disclose. Hence, it is significant to take some measures to preserve citizen's genetic information privacy. Depending on our results, we put forward our suggestion to this problem.展开更多

文摘Gladiolus hybridus Hort is one of the world's famous cutting flowers. It is very popular because of the big size, bright color, various shape, and long period of bloom. New species should be cultivated in order to meet the consumers' need of asking for the new. Among the technologies of cultivating new species of flowers, mutagenic breeding is a shortcut. This study treated corm bud of G. hybridus Hort with EMS of different consistency. Then M1 after treated was analyzed by RAPD. The result showed that EMS was a very effective mutagenic agent for the corm bud of G. hybridus Hort. With the increase of consistency, the mutagenic range increased first, then decreased, among which 0.6% EMS treatment had the biggest influence. However, with the same EMS consistency, there was not close relevancy between the amount of mutagenic agent and the divergence of plant's genomes, which offered a molecular basis for selecting plants with good mutation.
文摘To conform to the college English teaching reform from English for General Purposes (EGP) to English for Academic Purposes (EAP) in the vital transfer era, the Foreign Language Department of Second Military Medical University (中央人民政府) launched an English for Medical Academic Purpose (EMAP) curriculum with English Forum on Medical Humanities (EFMH), a project-based teaching practice. Based on Rogers' learner-centered humanistic teaching approach which emphasizes students' involvement and experiences in learning, EFMH puts students and their practice in a central place. After four-year exploration and operation, the Forum has developed from a small-scaled embryo into an internationalized, standardized and professionalized event, having produced fruitful outcomes. It is expected that the success of EFMH will provide inspiring experiences and enlightenments for higher medical education in terms of academic English teaching and teachers' responsibilities to foster high-quality medical students.

文摘Objective: To compare patient-reported outcomes after implantation of the ZA9003 intraocular lens(IOLs), or the MCX11 ASP IOLs or the spherical IOLs(HQ-201HEP). Methods: Prospective nonrandomized controlled trial was used. A total of 105 patients(210 eyes) were divided into three groups according to the type of IOLs: ZA9003(35 patients, 70 eyes), MCX11 ASP(35 patients, 70 eyes) or HQ-201HEP(35 patients, 70 eyes). The main outcome was scores of Catquest nine-item short-form questionnaire. Additional outcome was best corrected visual acuities, spherical aberration(SA) and total higher-order aberrations(HOAs). Results: The global score was significantly lower in the spherical IOL group than the aspherical IOL group of-020 μm SA(P < 0.05) and the aspherical IOL group of-027 μm SA(P < 0.05), and no significant difference was found in the global score between the aspherical IOL group of-020 μm SA than the aspherical IOL group of-027 μm SA(P > 0.05). Significant differences were also found in question 2, question 5, question 6 and question 8 between the spherical IOLs and the aspherical IOLs. Conclusion: Implantation of an aspherical IOL could improve vision-related quality of life compared with a spherical IOL. However, there were no statistically significant differences in vision-related quality of life between aspheric IOLs with different negative spherical aberrations.

文摘With the universal test machine and temperature test chamber, the effect of pressure and temperature on the behavior of 1-3 and 1-3-2 piezocomposites prepared with PZT/epoxy in our lab has been investigated through electrical impedance and dielectric analysis. The permittivity, resonant frequency and dielectric loss of the composites have been measured under vertical stress and temperature, and the variety of the material properties under pressure and temperature could also be obtained. The pressure and temperature stability of the composites have been assessed through experiments. The data of these two types of composites indicated that the stability of 1-342 composite with pressure was better than that of 1-3 composite, and two composites have almost the same dielectric stability with temperature. However, 1-3-2 composite showed slower frequency variation than 1-3 composite.

文摘MRCR could be regarded as a multi-stage compounding real option,based on option theory,assuming the convenience yield of coal reserves to be constant,built a one-factor model of valuating MRCR with the stochastic value of coal reserves.On the basis of our one-factor model,set up a two-factor model of evaluating MRCR assuming the convenience yield follows the mean-reverting process.When applied to valuate the MRCR of a coalmine,this model gives higher values than the one-factor model and the NPV.This is because the increase of convenience yield can improve the executive oppor- tunity of MRCR.

文摘A white emitting phosphor of YAl33(BO3)4:Ce+,Dy3+is synthesized by a solid state reaction,and its luminescent properties are investigated.Its phase formation is carried out with X-ray powder diffraction analysis,and there is no crystalline phase other than YAl3(BO3)4.YAl3(BO3)4:Ce3+can produce 422 nm blue emission under 367 nm excitation.The emission spectrum of YAl33(BO3)4:Dy+shows several emission peaks under 350 nm excitation,and the peaks locate at485 nm,575 nm and 668 nm,respectively.Emission intensities of Ce3+and Dy3+in YAl3(BO3)4 are influenced by their concentrations,and the concentration quenching effect is observed.Energy transfer from Ce3+to Dy3+in YAl3(BO3)4 is validated and proved to be a resonant type via a quadrupole-quadrupole interaction,and the emission color can be tuned from blue to white by tuning the ratio of Ce3+/Dy3+.Moreover,the critical distance(Rc)of Ce3+to Dy3+in YAl3(BO3)4 is calculated to be 1.904 nm.

文摘Blue emitting phosphor SrZn_2(PO_4)_2:Eu^(2+) is synthesized by a high temperature solid state method,and the luminescent properties are investigated.At the 330 nm radiation excitation,SrZn_2(PO_4)_2:Eu^(2+) presents an emission band at 416 nm,which is assigned to the 4f^65d^1→4f^7 transition of Eu^(2+) ion.The concentration quenching effect of Eu^(2+) in SrZn_2(PO_4)_2has been validated and proved to be a resonant type via a dipole-dipole interaction.The critical distance(R_c) of Eu^(2+) in SrZn_2(PO_4)_2 is calculated to be 3.244 nm.The Commission International de I'Eclairage(CIE) chromaticity coordinates of SrZn_2(PO_4)_2:Eu^(2+) locate at the blue region,such as(0.150,0.072).The results indicate that the SrZn_2(PO_4)_2:Eu^(2+)phosphor may have potential applications in white light emitting diodes(LEDs).
文摘A questionnaire research in ethics was conducted to get the view of students of medical universities in Shanghai on genomics and genetic discrimination. We find that 66% respondents indicated their willingness to understand the genetic information and 79% of respondents mind their own genetic information be aware of by other people. In contrast, 77% of the respondents believe that medical organization are not able to protect personal genetic information from disclose. Hence, it is significant to take some measures to preserve citizen's genetic information privacy. Depending on our results, we put forward our suggestion to this problem.
文摘Understanding an utterance is far from proposition analysis and literal meaning interpretation. It is the unity of what is said and what is implicated. Grice's theory of conversational implicature provides some explicit account of how it is possible to mean more than what is literally expressed by the conventional sense of the linguistic expressions uttered. Using this theory, we can infer the speaker's real attention, appreciate figure of speech in literary work, and improve our communicative competence.
