文摘The widespread use of the Internet of Things(IoT)applications has enormously increased the danger level of data leakage and theft in IoT as data transmission occurs through a public channel. As a result, the security of the IoT has become a serious challenge in the field of information security.Steganography on the network is a critical tool for preventing the leakage of private information and enabling secure and encrypted communication. The primary purpose of steganography is to conceal sensitive information in any form of media such as audio, video, text,or photos, and securely transfer it through wireless networks. In this paper,we analyse the performance characteristics of one of the steganography techniques called Hidden Communication System for Corrupted Networks(HCCNETs)for hiding sensitive data. This performance analysis includes the efficiency and the cost of the system in Wireless Local Area Networks(WLANs),specifically in the IEEE 802.11ah IoT protocol. The analysis is mainly based on a two-dimensional Markov chain model in the presence of an error channel.Additionally, the model considers packet arrival rate,back-off timer freezing,back-off stages, and short retry limit to ensure compliance with IEEE 802.11ah requirements. It stresses the importance of taking these elements into consideration while modeling the efficiency and cost of the steganographic channel system. These parameters often result in a high precise channel access estimation,a more accurate and efficient accuracy measurements system, efficient channel utilisation, avoidance of throughput saturation overestimation, and ensuring that no packet is served endlessly.Evaluated results demonstrate that HCCNETs is an effective approach at low cost.
文摘There are several advantages to the MIG(Metal Inert Gas)process, which explains its increased use in variouswelding sectors, such as automotive, marine, and construction.A variant of the MIG process, where the sameequipment is employed except for the deposition of a thin layer of flux before the welding operation,is the AMIG(Activated Metal Inert Gas)technique. This study focuses on investigating the impact of physical properties ofindividual metallic oxide fluxes for 304L stainless steel welding joint morphology and to what extent it can helpdetermine a relationship among weld depth penetration, the aspect ratio, and the input physical properties ofthe oxides.Five types of oxides,TiO_(2),SiO_(2),Fe_(2)O_(3),Cr_(2)O_(3),and Mn_(2)O_(3),are tested on butt joint design withoutpreparation of the edges.A robust algorithm based on the particle swarm optimization(PSO)technique is appliedto optimally tune the models’parameters, such as the quadratic error between the actual outputs(depth and aspectratio),and the error estimated by the models’outputs is minimized. The results showed that the proposed PSOmodel is first and foremost robust against uncertainties in measurement devices and modeling errors, and second, that it is capable of accurately representing and quantifying the weld depth penetration and the weld aspect ratioto the oxides’thermal properties.

文摘With the rapid development of artificial intelligence and the Internet of Things, along with the growing demand for privacy-preserving transmission, the need for efficient and secure communication systems has become increasingly urgent.Traditional communication methods transmit data at the bit level without considering its semantic significance, leading to redundant transmission overhead and reduced efficiency.Semantic communication addresses this issue by extracting and transmitting only the mostmeaningful semantic information, thereby improving bandwidth efficiency. However, despite reducing the volume of data,it remains vulnerable to privacy risks,as semantic features may still expose sensitive information. To address this,we propose an entropy-bottleneck-based privacy protection mechanism for semantic communication. Our approach uses semantic segmentation to partition images into regions of interest(ROI)and regions of non-interest(RONI)based on the receiver’s needs, enabling differentiated semantic transmission.By focusing transmission on ROIs,bandwidth usage is optimized, and non-essential data is minimized. The entropy bottleneck model probabilistically encodes the semantic information into a compact bit stream, reducing correlation between the transmitted content and the original data, thus enhancing privacy protection. The proposed framework is systematically evaluated in terms of compression efficiency, semantic fidelity, and privacy preservation.Through comparative experiments with traditional and state-of-the-art methods,we demonstrate that the approach significantly reduces data transmission, maintains the quality of semantically important regions, and ensures robust privacy protection.

文摘Remote driving,an emergent technology enabling remote operations of vehicles, presents a significant challenge in transmitting large volumes of image data to a central server. This requirement outpaces the capacity of traditional communication methods. To tackle this,we propose a novel framework using semantic communications, through a region of interest semantic segmentation method,to reduce the communication costs by transmitting meaningful semantic information rather than bit-wise data.To solve the knowledge base inconsistencies inherent in semantic communications,we introduce a blockchain-based edge-assisted system for managing diverse and geographically varied semantic segmentation knowledge bases. This system not only ensures the security of data through the tamper-resistant nature of blockchain but also leverages edge computing for efficient management.Additionally, the implementation of blockchain sharding handles differentiated knowledge bases for various tasks, thus boosting overall blockchain efficiency.Experimental results show a great reduction in latency by sharding and an increase in model accuracy, confirming our framework's effectiveness.

文摘Optimal path planning avoiding obstacles is among the most attractive applications of mobile robots(MRs)in both research and education. In this paper,an optimal collision-free algorithm is designed and implemented practically based on an improved Dijkstra algorithm. To achieve this research objectives, first, the MR obstacle-free environment is modeled as a diagraph including nodes, edges and weights.Second,Dijkstra algorithm is used offline to generate the shortest path driving the MR from a starting point to a target point.During its movement, the robot should follow the previously obtained path and stop at each node to test if there is an obstacle between the current node and the immediately following node. For this aim,the MR was equipped with an ultrasonic sensor used as obstacle detector. If an obstacle is found, the MR updates its diagraph by excluding the corresponding node. Then,Dijkstra algorithm runs on the modified diagraph. This procedure is repeated until reaching the target point. To verify the efficiency of the proposed approach,a simulation was carried out on a hand-made MR and an environment including 9 nodes,19 edges and 2 obstacles. The obtained optimal path avoiding obstacles has been transferred into motion control and implemented practically using line tracking sensors. This study has shown that the improved Dijkstra algorithm can efficiently solve optimal path planning in environments including obstacles and that STEAM-based MRs are efficient cost-effective tools to practically implement the designed algorithm.

文摘Most consumers read online reviews written by different users before making purchase decisions, where each opinion expresses some sentiment. Therefore, sentiment analysis is currently a hot topic of research. In particular,aspect-based sentiment analysis concerns the exploration of emotions, opinions and facts that are expressed by people, usually in the form of polarity. It is crucial to consider polarity calculations and not simply categorize reviews as positive, negative,or neutral.Currently, the available lexicon-based method accuracy is affected by limited coverage.Several of the available polarity estimation techniques are too general and may not reect the aspect/topic in question if reviews contain a wide range of information about different topics. This paper presents a model for the polarity estimation of customer reviews using aspect-based sentiment analysis(ABSA-PER).ABSA-PER has three major phases:data preprocessing, aspect co-occurrence calculation(CAC)and polarity estimation.A multi-domain sentiment dataset,Twitter dataset, and trust pilot forum dataset(developed by us by dened judgement rules)are used to verify ABSA-PER.Experimental outcomes show that ABSA-PER achieves better accuracy,i.e.,85.7%accuracy for aspect extraction and 86.5%accuracy in terms of polarity estimation, than that of the baseline methods.
文摘COVID-19 comes from a large family of viruses identied in 1965;to date, seven groups have been recorded which have been found to affect humans. In the healthcare industry, there is much evidence that Al or machine learning algorithms can provide effective models that solve problems in order to predict conrmed cases, recovered cases, and deaths. Many researchers and scientists in the eld of machine learning are also involved in solving this dilemma, seeking to understand the patterns and characteristics of virus attacks,so scientists may make the right decisions and take specic actions.Furthermore, many models have been considered to predict the Coronavirus outbreak, such as the retro prediction model, pandemic Kaplan’s model, and the neural forecasting model.Other research has used the time series-dependent face book prophet model for COVID-19 prediction in India’s various countries. Thus,we proposed a prediction and analysis model to predict COVID-19 in Saudi Arabia. The time series dependent face book prophet model is used to t the data and provide future predictions. This study aimed to determine the pandemic prediction of COVID-19 in Saudi Arabia, using the Time Series Analysis to observe and predict the coronavirus pandemic’s spread daily or weekly. We found that the proposed model has a low ability to forecast the recovered cases of the COVID-19 dataset. In contrast, the proposed model of death cases has a high ability to forecast the COVID-19 dataset. Finally, obtaining more data could empower the model for further validation.

文摘With the development of communication systems, modulation methods are becoming more and more diverse. Among them, quadrature spatial modulation(QSM) is considered as one method with less capacity and high efficiency. In QSM, the traditional signal detection methods sometimes are unable to meet the actual requirement of low complexity of the system. Therefore, this paper proposes a signal detection scheme for QSM systems using deep learning to solve the complexity problem. Results from the simulations show that the bit error rate performance of the proposed deep learning-based detector is better than that of the zero-forcing(ZF) and minimum mean square error(MMSE) detectors, and similar to the maximum likelihood(ML) detector. Moreover, the proposed method requires less processing time than ZF, MMSE,and ML.
文摘With the growth of the discipline of digital communication, the topic has acquiredmore attention in the cybersecuritymedium. The Intrusion Detection(ID)system monitors network traffic to detect malicious activities. The paper introduces a novel Feature Selection(FS)approach for ID.Reptile Search Algorithm(RSA)—is a new optimization algorithm;in this method, each agent searches a new region according to the position of the host, which makes the algorithm suffers from getting stuck in local optima and a slow convergence rate.To overcome these problems, this study introduces an improved RSA approach by integrating Cauchy Mutation(CM)into the RSA’s structure. Thus, the CM can effectively expand search space and enhance the performance of the RSA.The developed RSA-CM is assessed on five publicly available ID datasets:KDD-CUP99,NSL-KDD,UNSW-NB15,CIC-IDS2017,and CIC-IDS2018 and two engineering problems. The RSA-CM is compared with the original RSA,and three other state-of-the-art FS methods, namely particle swarm optimization, grey wolf optimization, and multi-verse optimizer, and quantitatively is evaluated using fitness value, the number of selected optimum features, accuracy, precision, recall, and F1-score evaluationmeasures. The results reveal that the developed RSA-CMgot better results than the other competitive methods applied for FS on the ID datasets and the examined engineering problems. Moreover, the Friedman test results confirm that RSA-CMhas a significant superiority compared to other methods as an FS method for ID.

文摘The application of optimization methods to prediction issues is a continually exploring field. In line with this, this paper investigates the connectedness between the infected cases of COVID-19 and US fear index from a forecasting perspective. The complex characteristics of implied volatility risk index such as non-linearity structure,time-varying and nonstationarity motivate us to apply a nonlinear polynomial Hammerstein model with known structure and unknown parameters. We use the Hybrid Particle Swarm Optimization(HPSO)tool to identify the model parameters of nonlinear polynomial Hammerstein model.Findings indicate that, following a nonlinear polynomial behaviour cascaded to an autoregressive with exogenous input(ARX)behaviour, the fear index in US financial market is significantly affected by COVID-19-infected cases in the US,COVID-19-infected cases in the world and COVID-19-infected cases in China, respectively.Statistical performance indicators provided by the developed models show that COVID-19-infected cases in the US are particularly powerful in predicting the Cboe volatility index compared to COVID-19-infected cases in the world and China(MAPE(2.1013%);R2(91.78%)and RMSE(0.6363 percentage points)).The proposed approaches have also shown good convergence characteristics and accurate fits of the data.
