BACKGROUND Hepatocellular carcinoma(HCC)in segments VII and VIII poses technical challenges for both liver resection and radiofrequency ablation(RFA).Robotic-assisted techniques may enhance safety and precision,but co...BACKGROUND Hepatocellular carcinoma(HCC)in segments VII and VIII poses technical challenges for both liver resection and radiofrequency ablation(RFA).Robotic-assisted techniques may enhance safety and precision,but comparative evidence remains limited.AIM To compare the clinical outcomes of robotic liver resection(R-LR)and robotic intraoperative RFA(RIO-RFA)for HCC located in liver segments VII and VIII.METHODS We retrospectively analyzed 93 HCC patients in segments VII/VIII with de novo(n=57)or first recurrent(n=36).HCC who underwent R-LR or RIO-RFA between 2015 and 2024.Propensity score matching was performed to reduce selection bias.Primary outcomes were overall survival(OS)and recurrence-free survival(RFS).Kaplan-Meier curves,log-rank tests,and Cox regression were used to identify prognostic factors for OS and RFS.RESULTS In the de novo group,OS and RFS did not differ significantly between R-LR and RIO-RFA before or after propensity score matching.In contrast,the recurrent group showed significantly improved OS and RFS with R-LR(P=0.005 and P=0.012,respectively).Subgroup analyses revealed that low-risk de novo patients with smaller tumors achieved superior OS after R-LR,whereas carefully selected low-risk recurrent patients undergoing RIO-RFA(smaller tumors,absence of complications)achieved outcomes comparable to R-LR.Platelet count,tumor size,and postoperative complications constituted key prognostic factors.CONCLUSION For HCC in challenging liver segments VII and VIII,R-LR and RIO-RFA achieve comparable outcomes in de novo cases,whereas R-LR confers superior survival in recurrent disease.R-LR should be prioritized for small de novo HCCs and for recurrent disease overall;RIO-RFA may serve as an effective alternative in carefully selected lowrisk recurrent patients.Tumor size,platelet count,and postoperative complications are key prognostic indicators to guide individualized treatment.展开更多

The T S fuzzy models with a small number of fuzzy IF-THEN rules are employed to represent many typical hyperchaotic systems exactly. The benefit of employing the T-S fuzzy models lies in mathematical simplicity of analysis. Based on the T-S fuzzy hyperchaotic models, two fuzzy controllers arc designed via parallel distributed compensation (PDC) and exact linearization (EL) techniques to synchronize two identical hyperchaotic systems with uncertain parameters and two different hyperchaotic systems, respectively. The sufficient conditions for the robust synchronization of two identical hyperchaotic systems with uncertain parameters and the asymptotic synchronization of two different hyperchaotic systems are derived by applying the Lyapunov stability theory. This method is a universal one of synchronizing two identical or different hyperchaotic systems. This condition is simply given based on the maximum nonzero eigenvalue of the network coupling matrix. Moreover, we show how to construct the coupling matrix to guarantee global synchronization of network, which is very convenient to use. A two-dimension system with delay as a dynamical node in network with global coupling is finally presented to verify the theoretical results of the proposed global synchronization scheme.展开更多

Based on algebraic graph theory and matrix theory, a simple linear state feedback controller is designed to synchronize the master chaotic system and the slave chaotic systems with a time- varying communication topology connection. The exponential stability of the closed-loop networked synchronization error system is guaranteed by applying Lyapunov stability theory. The derived novel criteria are in the form of linear matrix inequalities (LMIs), which are easy to examine and tremendously reduce the computation burden from the feedback matrices. This paper provides an alternative networked secure communication scheme which can be extended conveniently. Novel delay-dependent linear controllers are designed via the Lyapunov stability theory. Especially, it is shown that the controlled networks are globally exponentially synchronized with a given convergence rate. An example of typical dynamical network of this class, having the Lorenz system at each node, has been used to demonstrate and verify the novel design proposed. It is shown that the positive degree...We study the effects of degree correlations on the evolution of cooperation in the prisoner's dilemma game with individuals located on two types of positively correlated networks. It is shown that the positive degree correlation can either promote or inhibit the emergence of cooperation depending on network configurations. Furthermore, we investigate the probability to cooperate as a function of connectivity degree, and find that high-degree individuals generally have a higher tendency to cooperate. Finally, it is found that small-degree individuals usually change their strategy more frequently, and such change is shown to be unfavourable to cooperation for both kinds of networks.展开更多

We introduce a decaying factor for the accumulative payoff, which characterizes the extent that the historical payoff is accumulated. It is shown that for fixed values of the temptation to defect, the density of cooperators increases with the value of the decaying factor. This indicates that the more the historical payoff is involved, the more favourable cooperators become. In the critical region where the cooperator density converges to zero, cooperators vanish according to a power-law-like behaviour. The associated exponents agree approximately with the two-dimensional directed percolation and depend weakly on the value of the decaying factor.展开更多

BACKGROUND Esophageal cancer carries a poor prognosis with low 5-year survival rates and limited early detection options.The skeletal muscle index at the L3 vertebral level is a well-established prognostic marker in e...BACKGROUND Esophageal cancer carries a poor prognosis with low 5-year survival rates and limited early detection options.The skeletal muscle index at the L3 vertebral level is a well-established prognostic marker in esophageal cancer,but most follow-up computed tomography(CT)scans do not extend to L3 and limiting its utility.Radiomics has emerged as a powerful tool for extracting prognostic information from medical images.AIM To evaluate the influential features for esophageal cancer prognosis by integrating radiomic and body compositionbased indices of skeletal muscle and adipose tissue at the T12 level from both pretreatment and follow-up CT images,in order to assess their value in predicting overall survival(OS).METHODS This retrospective study included 212 esophageal cancer patients who underwent concurrent chemoradiotherapy,with both pretreatment and follow-up chest CT scans available.Body organ analysis(BOA)and radiomic features were extracted from skeletal muscle and adipose tissue at the T12 level using automated tools.Four feature subsets(no-radiomics,pretreatment only,follow-up only,and combined inputs)were developed using logistic regression(LR)with least absolute shrinkage and selection operator for feature selection,followed by Cox regression.Prognostic models-including nomogram,support vector classifier,LR,and extra trees classifier-were constructed to predict 1-,2-,and 3-year OS.RESULTS The model integrating both BOA and radiomics from pretreatment and follow-up CT,combined with clinical data,achieved the best performance for 2-year OS prediction,with an area under the time-dependent receiver operating characteristic curve of 0.91,sensitivity of 0.81,and specificity of 0.88 using the LR model.The most predictive features included both clinical variables,body composition indices,and radiomic features,particularly from follow-up VAT.Follow-up imaging contributed significantly to model performance,reinforcing its value in treatment response evaluation.CONCLUSION This is the first study to demonstrate that BOA indices and their corresponding radiomics at the T12-level from both pretreatment and follow-up CT scans-combined with clinical data-can provide accurate prognostic information for esophageal cancer.This approach offers a practical alternative when L3-level imaging is unavailable and supports the clinical integration of automated T12-based imaging biomarkers.The integration of these imaging features with clinical parameters enhances the prediction of survival outcomes and contributes to non-invasive,personalized treatment planning.展开更多
Esophageal cancer is a highly aggressive malignancy often diagnosed at an advanced stage,with poor prognosis and high recurrence rates despite curative treatment.Accurate prognostic tools are urgently needed to guide ...Esophageal cancer is a highly aggressive malignancy often diagnosed at an advanced stage,with poor prognosis and high recurrence rates despite curative treatment.Accurate prognostic tools are urgently needed to guide personalized management strategies.Recent research has demonstrated significant potential of integrating quantitative imaging biomarkers,specifically radiomics and sarcopenia,with machine learning(ML)techniques to enhance outcome prediction.This review systematically summarizes six recent studies(2022-2024)exploring integrated ML models combining sarcopenia and radiomics biomarkers with clinical parameters to predict survival in patients with esophageal and gastroesophageal cancers.Sample sizes ranged from 83 to 243 patients,with studies utilizing various imaging modalities(positron emission tomography/computed tomography and computed tomography)and model analysis approaches,including Cox regression,random forest,and light gradient boosting machine.These models incorporated features such as skeletal muscle indices,tumor texture,and shape descriptors.Models that combined clinical data,radiomics,and sarcopenia outperformed those using single modalities.These findings support the utility of multimodal imaging biomarkers in developing robust,individualized prognostic models.However,the retrospective nature of most studies highlights the need for standardization and external validation.This review underscores the potential of multimodal ML-based models in enhancing personalized risk stratification and treatment planning for esophageal cancer.展开更多

The proposed algorithm provides a technique for online predicting the largest possible margin to voltage collapse of an electrical power system. An online maximum loadability determination algorithm is developed by transforming the impedance margin, obtained from the Thevenin equivalent network, into the loading margin at each of the load buses in a power system. Furthermore, the proposed algorithm also takes system load trends into account for practical applications. The effectiveness of the proposed algorithm is tested on the IEEE 14 and 57 bus test systems. Based on the discrete-time T-S fuzzy system, it proves that the chaos in the discrete- time T-S fuzzy system satisfies the Li-Yorke definition by choosing appropriate controller parameters via the revised Marotto theorem. An additive maximum-likelihood detector based on the Laplacian PDF is analyzed and the theoretical result of its performance is given. The experiments show that the error of the Laplacian model for the DRT coefficients of many images is smaller than that of the Gaussian model. 文摘Based on the current structural theories of intelligent control,a new structural theory,the four-element intersection structure of intelligent control,has been proposed after study-ing the features and relationships among the related disciplines.The reasons for adding in-formatics into the structure have been discussed and emphasized,and the relationships a-mong the four subsets are explained.
文摘With the propagation of applications on the internet, the internet has become a great information source which supplies users with valuable information. But it is hard for users to quickly acquire the right information on the web. This paper an intelligent agent for internet applications to retrieve and extract web information under user's guidance. The intelligent agent is made up of a retrieval script to identify web sources, an extraction script based on the document object model to express extraction process, a data translator to export the extracted information into knowledge bases with frame structures, and a data reasoning to reply users' questions. A GUI tool named Script Writer helps to generate the extraction script visually, and knowledge rule databases help to extract wanted information and to generate the answer to questions.

文摘In this editorial,we will discuss the article by Tang et al published in the recent issue of the World Journal of Gastrointestinal Oncology.They explored an innovative approach to enhancing gemcitabine(GEM)delivery and efficacy using human bone marrow mesenchymal stem cells(HU-BMSCs)-derived exosomes.The manufacture of GEM-loaded HU-BMSCs-derived exosomes(Exo-GEM)has been optimized.The Tang et al’s study demonstrated that Exo-GEM exhibits enhanced cytotoxicity and apoptosis-inducing effects compared to free GEM,highlighting the potential of exosome-based drug delivery systems as a more effective and targeted approach to chemotherapy in pancreatic cancer.Additional in vivo studies are required to confirm the safety and effectiveness of Exo-GEM before it can be considered for clinical use.

文摘BACKGROUND Esophageal cancer carries a poor prognosis with low 5-year survival rates and limited early detection options.The skeletal muscle index at the L3 vertebral level is a well-established prognostic marker in esophageal cancer,but most follow-up computed tomography(CT)scans do not extend to L3 and limiting its utility.Radiomics has emerged as a powerful tool for extracting prognostic information from medical images.AIM To evaluate the influential features for esophageal cancer prognosis by integrating radiomic and body compositionbased indices of skeletal muscle and adipose tissue at the T12 level from both pretreatment and follow-up CT images,in order to assess their value in predicting overall survival(OS).METHODS This retrospective study included 212 esophageal cancer patients who underwent concurrent chemoradiotherapy,with both pretreatment and follow-up chest CT scans available.Body organ analysis(BOA)and radiomic features were extracted from skeletal muscle and adipose tissue at the T12 level using automated tools.Four feature subsets(no-radiomics,pretreatment only,follow-up only,and combined inputs)were developed using logistic regression(LR)with least absolute shrinkage and selection operator for feature selection,followed by Cox regression.Prognostic models-including nomogram,support vector classifier,LR,and extra trees classifier-were constructed to predict 1-,2-,and 3-year OS.RESULTS The model integrating both BOA and radiomics from pretreatment and follow-up CT,combined with clinical data,achieved the best performance for 2-year OS prediction,with an area under the time-dependent receiver operating characteristic curve of 0.91,sensitivity of 0.81,and specificity of 0.88 using the LR model.The most predictive features included both clinical variables,body composition indices,and radiomic features,particularly from follow-up VAT.Follow-up imaging contributed significantly to model performance,reinforcing its value in treatment response evaluation.CONCLUSION This is the first study to demonstrate that BOA indices and their corresponding radiomics at the T12-level from both pretreatment and follow-up CT scans-combined with clinical data-can provide accurate prognostic information for esophageal cancer.This approach offers a practical alternative when L3-level imaging is unavailable and supports the clinical integration of automated T12-based imaging biomarkers.The integration of these imaging features with clinical parameters enhances the prediction of survival outcomes and contributes to non-invasive,personalized treatment planning.

文摘Esophageal cancer is a highly aggressive malignancy often diagnosed at an advanced stage,with poor prognosis and high recurrence rates despite curative treatment.Accurate prognostic tools are urgently needed to guide personalized management strategies.Recent research has demonstrated significant potential of integrating quantitative imaging biomarkers,specifically radiomics and sarcopenia,with machine learning(ML)techniques to enhance outcome prediction.This review systematically summarizes six recent studies(2022-2024)exploring integrated ML models combining sarcopenia and radiomics biomarkers with clinical parameters to predict survival in patients with esophageal and gastroesophageal cancers.Sample sizes ranged from 83 to 243 patients,with studies utilizing various imaging modalities(positron emission tomography/computed tomography and computed tomography)and model analysis approaches,including Cox regression,random forest,and light gradient boosting machine.These models incorporated features such as skeletal muscle indices,tumor texture,and shape descriptors.Models that combined clinical data,radiomics,and sarcopenia outperformed those using single modalities.These findings support the utility of multimodal imaging biomarkers in developing robust,individualized prognostic models.However,the retrospective nature of most studies highlights the need for standardization and external validation.This review underscores the potential of multimodal ML-based models in enhancing personalized risk stratification and treatment planning for esophageal cancer.

文摘This paper studies the evolutionary prisoner's dilemma game on a highly clustered community network in which the clustering coefficient and the community size can be tuned. It finds that the clustering coefficient in such a degree-homogeneous network inhibits the emergence of cooperation for the entire range of the payoff parameter. Moreover, it finds that the community size can also have a marked influence on the evolution of cooperation, with a larger community size leading to not only a lower cooperation level but also a smaller threshold of the payoff parameter above which cooperators become extinct.
文摘This paper presents an algorithm based on Thevenin equivalent network for voltage stability evaluation. The proposed algorithm provides a technique for online predicting the largest possible margin to voltage collapse of an electrical power system. An online maximum loadability determination algorithm is developed by transforming the impedance margin, obtained from the Thevenin equivalent network, into the loading margin at each of the load buses in a power system. Furthermore, the proposed algorithm also takes system load trends into account for practical applications. The effectiveness of the proposed algorithm is tested on the IEEE 14 and 57 bus test systems. Simulation results have shown that the proposed algorithm is useful and practical for online voltage instability monitoring.
文摘On the basis of researching the generalized Hough transform and its im-provements,this paper presents a combined Hough transform(CHT)for recognizing arbi-trary shapes.The combined Hough transform introduces the idea of the adaptive Houghtransform(AHT)into the double Hough transform(DHT).It not only maintains the de-sirable features of the DHT,but also improves the speed of execution and resistanceagainst disturbance,and reduces the memory requirements greatly.The CHT canaccurately recognize objects,partially occluded in complex background.Therefore,it ispossible to implement the CHT in real-time application.
文摘A computer control system for drawing machine in horizontal continuous cast set was introduced.The operation features of the drawing machine were analyzed»the hardware configuration and principles of interface circuit for stroke measurements were given out.An effective method was provided,which made the process parameters progressively optimize under the software environment using friendly interface of person-and-computer communication.This method was also adaptable to optimize parameters of other production process which are hard to model.

文摘This paper investigates the chaotification problem of a stable continuous-time T S fuzzy system. A simple nonlinear state time-delay feedback controller is designed by parallel distributed compensation technique. Then, the asymptotically approximate relationship between the controlled continuous-time T-S fuzzy system with time-delay and a discrete-time T-S fuzzy system is established. Based on the discrete-time T-S fuzzy system, it proves that the chaos in the discrete- time T-S fuzzy system satisfies the Li-Yorke definition by choosing appropriate controller parameters via the revised Marotto theorem. Finally, the effectiveness of the proposed chaotic anticontrol method is verified by a practical example.

文摘The traditional correlation-based detector is optimal only for Gaussian data, but the Laplacian Probability Density Function (PDF) is more appropriate to model the coefficients in the Discrete Ridgelet Transform (DRT) domain. An additive maximum-likelihood detector based on the Laplacian PDF is analyzed and the theoretical result of its performance is given. The experiments show that the error of the Laplacian model for the DRT coefficients of many images is smaller than that of the Gaussian model. The experiments also prove that the Laplacian detector is superior to the tradi- tional correlation-based detector.
