BACKGROUND Hepatocellular carcinoma(HCC)in segments VII and VIII poses technical challenges for both liver resection and radiofrequency ablation(RFA).Robotic-assisted techniques may enhance safety and precision,but comparative evidence remains limited.AIM To compare the clinical outcomes of robotic liver resection(R-LR)and robotic intraoperative RFA(RIO-RFA)for HCC located in liver segments VII and VIII.METHODS We retrospectively analyzed 93 HCC patients in segments VII/VIII with de novo(n=57)or first recurrent(n=36).HCC who underwent R-LR or RIO-RFA between 2015 and 2024.Propensity score matching was performed to reduce selection bias.Primary outcomes were overall survival(OS)and recurrence-free survival(RFS).Kaplan-Meier curves,log-rank tests,and Cox regression were used to identify prognostic factors for OS and RFS.RESULTS In the de novo group,OS and RFS did not differ significantly between R-LR and RIO-RFA before or after propensity score matching.In contrast,the recurrent group showed significantly improved OS and RFS with R-LR(P=0.005 and P=0.012,respectively).Subgroup analyses revealed that low-risk de novo patients with smaller tumors achieved superior OS after R-LR,whereas carefully selected low-risk recurrent patients undergoing RIO-RFA(smaller tumors,absence of complications)achieved outcomes comparable to R-LR.Platelet count,tumor size,and postoperative complications constituted key prognostic factors.CONCLUSION For HCC in challenging liver segments VII and VIII,R-LR and RIO-RFA achieve comparable outcomes in de novo cases,whereas R-LR confers superior survival in recurrent disease.R-LR should be prioritized for small de novo HCCs and for recurrent disease overall;RIO-RFA may serve as an effective alternative in carefully selected lowrisk recurrent patients.Tumor size,platelet count,and postoperative complications are key prognostic indicators to guide individualized treatment. 展开更多

The mathematical model of a transport aircraft would be subjected to a sudden change when heavy cargo is dropped off in airdropping, which exerts serious influences upon the safety of the aircraft. A variable structure controller is specially designed for handling the airdrop process. The nonlinear system is linearized by input-output feedback linearization using differential geometry theories. On this basis, an inner loop system for velocity and attitude tracking control is designed by using the exponentially approaching rule of the variable structure theory. The whole flight control system is integrated with the outer loop flight altitude control. Digital simulation evidences the applicability of the system to potentially catastrophic course in airdropping heavy cargo and provides robustness against system parameter perturbation. 展开更多

Sensor management plays an important role in data fusion system, and this paper presents an algorithm of sensor management that can be used in target detection, identification and tracking. First, the basic concept, rule, range and function of sensor management are introduced. Then, the quantifying problems of target priority and sensor (or combination)-target pairing in multisensor management are discussed and the efficiency and waste functions are established based on the functions of target priority and sensor-target pairing. On this basis, a distribution algorithm of multi-sensor resources is given, which is optimized by the principle of maximum synthesis efficiency in the multisensor system and constrained by sensor maximum tracking power and what target must be scanned. In addition, the waste measure of sensor resources is introduced to improve the algorithm. Finally, a tactical task that includes three sensors and ten targets is set, and the simulation results show that the algorithm is feasible and effective. 展开更多

To reduce the variations of the production process in penicillin cultivations, a rolling multivariate statis-tical approach based on multiway principle component analysis (MPCA) is developed and used for fault diagnosis of penicillin cultivations. Using the moving data windows technique, the static MPCA is extended for use in dy-namic process performance monitoring. The control chart is set up using the historical data collected from the past successful batches, thereby resulting in simplification of monitoring charts, easy tracking of the progress in each batch run, and monitoring the occurrence of the observable upsets. Data from the commercial-scale penicillin fer-mentation process are used to develop the rolling model. Using this method, faults are detected in real time and the corresponding measurements of these faults are directly made through inspection of a few simple plots (t-chart, SPE-chart, and T2-chart). Thus, the present methodology allows the process operator to actively monitor the data from several cultivations simultaneously. 展开更多

To improve the accuracy of strapdown inertial navigation system(SINS) for long term applications,the rotation technique is employed to modulate the errors of the inertial sensors into periodically varied signals,and,as a result,to suppress the divergence of SINS errors.However,the errors of rotation platform will be introduced into SINS and might affect the final navigation accuracy.Considering the disadvantages of the conventional navigation computation scheme,an improved computation scheme of the SINS using rotation technique is proposed which can reduce the effects of the rotation platform errors.And,the error characteristics of the SINS with this navigation computation scheme are analyzed.Theoretical analysis,simulations and real test results show that the proposed navigation computation scheme outperforms the conventional navigation computation scheme,meanwhile reduces the requirement to the measurement accuracy of rotation angles. 展开更多

Rotating machinery is important to industrial production. Any failure of rotating machinery, especially the failure of rolling bearings, can lead to equipment shutdown and even more serious incidents. Therefore, accurate residual life prediction plays a crucial role in guaranteeing machine operation safety and reliability and reducing maintenance cost. In order to increase the forecasting precision of the remaining useful life(RUL) of the rolling bearing, an advanced approach combining elastic net with long short-time memory network(LSTM) is proposed, and the new approach is referred to as E-LSTM. The E-LSTM algorithm consists of an elastic mesh and LSTM, taking temporal-spatial correlation into consideration to forecast the RUL through the LSTM. To solve the over-fitting problem of the LSTM neural network during the training process, the elastic net based regularization term is introduced to the LSTM structure.In this way, the change of the output can be well characterized to express the bearing degradation mode. Experimental results from the real-world data demonstrate that the proposed E-LSTM method can obtain higher stability and relevant values that are useful for the RUL forecasting of bearing. Furthermore, these results also indicate that E-LSTM can achieve better performance. 展开更多

A novel vibration isolation device called the nonlinear energy sink(NES)with NiTiNOL-steel wire ropes(NiTi-ST)is applied to a whole-spacecraft system.The NiTi-ST is used to describe the damping of the NES,which is coupled with the modified Bouc-Wen model of hysteresis.The NES with NiTi-ST vibration reduction principle uses the irreversibility of targeted energy transfer(TET)to concentrate the energy locally on the nonlinear oscillator,and then dissipates it through damping in the NES with NiTi-ST.The generalized vibration transmissibility,obtained by the root mean square treatment of the harmonic response of the nonlinear output frequency response functions(NOFRFs),is first used as the evaluation index to analyze the whole-spacecraft system in the future.An optimization analysis of the impact of system responses is performed using different parameters of NES with NiTi-ST based on the transmissibility of NOFRFs.Finally,the effects of vibration suppression by varying the parameters of NiTi-ST are analyzed from the perspective of energy absorption.The results indicate that NES with NiTi-ST can reduce excessive vibration of the whole-spacecraft system,without changing its natural frequency.Moreover,the NES with NiTi-ST can be directly used in practical engineering applications. 展开更多

A new motion model and estimation algorithm is proposed to compute the general rigid motion object's 6-DOF motion parameters and center of rotation based on stereo vision. The object's 6-DOF motion model is designed from the rigid object's motion character under the two defined reference frames. According to the rigid object's motion model and motion dynamics knowledge, the corresponding motion algorithm to compute the 6-DOF motion parameters is worked out. By the rigid object pure rotation motion model and space sphere geometry knowledge, the center of rotation may be calculated after eliminating the translation motion out of the 6-DOF motion. The motion equations are educed based on the motion model and the closed-form solutions are figured out. To heighten the motion estimation algorithm's robust, RANSAC algorithm is applied to delete the outliers. Simulation and real experiments are conducted and the experiment results are analyzed. The results prove the motion model's correction and algorithm's validity. 展开更多

The interface between fiber and matrix belongs to mechanical bonding. The fractograph demonstrates ductile mode. The theory foundation is that the classical Dijkstra algorithm has not any directional feature during searching the shortest path. The algorithm takes advantage of the adjacent link and the mechanism of bidirectional search, that is, the algorithm processes the positive search from start point to destination point and the negative search from destination point to start point at the same time. Finally, combining with the practical application of route-planning algorithm in embedded real-time vehicle navigation system (ERTVNS), one example of its practical applications is given, analysis in theory and the experimental results show that compared with the Dijkstra algorithm, the new algorithm can reduce time complexity, and guarantee the searching precision, it satisfies the needs of ERTVNS. 展开更多

A multiscale principal component analysis method is proposed for sensor fault detection and identification. After decomposition of sensor signal by wavelet transform, the coarse-scale coefficients from the sensors with strong correlation are employed to establish the principal component analysis model. A moving window is designed to monitor data from each sensor using the model. For the purpose of sensor fault detection and identification, the data in the window is decomposed with wavelet transform to acquire the coarse-scale coefficients firstly, and the square prediction error is used to detect the failure. Then the sensor validity index is introduced to identify faulty sensor, which provides a quantitative identifying index rather than qualitative contrast given by the approach with contribution. Finally, the applicability and effectiveness of the proposed method is illustrated by sensors of industrial boiler. 展开更多

In the present study, the Volterra series theory is adopted to theoretically investigate the force transmissibility of multiple degrees of freedom (MDOF) structures, in which an isolator with nonlinear anti-symmetric viscous damping is assembled. The results reveal that the anti-symmetric nonlinear viscous damping can significantly reduce the force trans- missibility over all resonance regions for MDOF structures with little effect on the transmissibility over non-resonant and isolation regions. The results indicate that the vibration isolators with an anti-symmetric damping characteristic have great potential to solve the dilemma occurring in the design of linear viscously damped vibration isolators where an increase of the damping level reduces the force transmissibility over resonant frequencies but increases the transmissibility over non-resonant frequency regions. This work is an extension of a previous study in which MDOF structures installed on the mount through an isolator with cubic nonlinear damping are considered. The theoretical analysis results are also verified by simulation studies. 展开更多

Based on the optimization model, an improved genetic algorithm applied to knowledge acquisition of a network fault diagnostic expert system is proposed. The algorithm applies operators such as selection, crossover and mutation to evolve an initial population of diagnostic rules. Especially, a self adaptive method is put forward to regulate the crossover rate and mutation rate. In the end, a knowledge acquisition problem of a simple network fault diagnostic system is simulated, the results of simulation show that the improved approach can solve the problem of convergence better. 展开更多

In this paper, a Takagi Sugeno (T-S) fuzzy model-based method is proposed to deal with the problem of synchronization of two identical or different hyperchaotic systems. The T S fuzzy models with a small number of fuzzy IF-THEN rules are employed to represent many typical hyperchaotic systems exactly. The benefit of employing the T-S fuzzy models lies in mathematical simplicity of analysis. Based on the T-S fuzzy hyperchaotic models, two fuzzy controllers arc designed via parallel distributed compensation (PDC) and exact linearization (EL) techniques to synchronize two identical hyperchaotic systems with uncertain parameters and two different hyperchaotic systems, respectively. The sufficient conditions for the robust synchronization of two identical hyperchaotic systems with uncertain parameters and the asymptotic synchronization of two different hyperchaotic systems are derived by applying the Lyapunov stability theory. This method is a universal one of synchronizing two identical or different hyperchaotic systems. Numerical examples are given to demonstrate the validity of the proposed fuzzy model and hyperchaotic synchronization scheme. 展开更多

In this article, theauthor puts forward a new linear decoupling algorithm which simultaneously considers the error ofstandard input signal and output of accelerators when the coupling parameters are calculated. TheTotal Least Square (TLS) solutions of coupling parameters own the minimum characteristic to theinput and output values. Then these parameters are used to reconstruct the outputs of acceleratorsso as to realize the decoupling. Single-axis rotation technique is often used in the marine laser inertial navigation system so as to modulate the constant biases of non-axial gyroscopes and accelerometers to attain better navigation performance.However,two significant accelerometer nonlinear errors need to be attacked to improve the modulation effect.Firstly,the asymmetry scale factor inaccuracy enlarges the errors of frequent zero-cross oscillating specific force measured by non-axial accelerometers.Secondly,the traditional linear model of accelerometers can hardly measure the continued or intermittent acceleration accurately.These two nonlinear errors degrade the high-precision specific force measurement and the calibration of nonlinear coefficients because triaxial accelerometers is urgent for the marine navigation.Based on the digital signal sampling property,the square coefficients and cross-coupling coefficients of accelerometers are considered.Meanwhile,the asymmetry scale factors are considered in the I-F conversion unit.Thus,a nonlinear model of specific force measurement is established compared to the linear model.Based on the three-axis turntable,the triaxial gyroscopes are utilized to measure the specific force observation for triaxial accelerometers.Considering the nonlinear combination,the standard calibration parameters and asymmetry factors are separately estimated by a two-step iterative identification procedure.Besides,an efficient specific force calculation model is approximately derived to reduce the real-time computation cost.Simulation results illustrate the sufficient estimation accuracy of nonlinear coefficients.The experiments demonstrate that the nonlinear model shows much higher accuracy than the linear model in both the gravimetry and sway navigation validations. 展开更多

In order to improve the harsh dynamic environment experienced by heavy rockets during different external excitations,this study presents a novel active variable stiffness vibration isolator(AVS-VI)used as the vibration isolation device to reduce excessive vibration of the whole-spacecraft isolation system.The AVS-VI is composed of horizontal stiffness spring,positive stiffness spring,parallelogram linkage mechanism,piezoelectric actuator,acceleration sensor,viscoelastic damping,and PID active controller.Based on the AVS-VI,the generalized vibration transmissibility determined by the nonlinear output frequency response functions and the energy absorption rate is applied to analyze the isolation performance of the whole-spacecraft system with AVS-VI.The AVS-VI can conduct adaptive vibration suppression with variable stiffness to the whole-spacecraft system,and the analysis results indicate that the AVS-VI is efTective in reducing the extravagant vibration of the whole-spacecraft system,where the vibration isolation is decreased up to above 65%under different acceleration excitations.Finally,different parameters of AVS-VI are considered to optimize the whole-spacecraft system based on the generalized vibration transmissibility and the energy absorption rate. 展开更多
