Improvement of stroke care should be achieved through awareness of public, especially through high-risk group. Henceforth, the aim of this study was to evaluate the effect of nursing intervention on improving awareness of high-risk people about stroke prevention. Methods: A quasi-experimental design was used to carry out this study, where a purposive sample of 80 adult patients at high risk for stroke were enrolled while they were attending the out-patient clinics of Zagazig University Hospitals for follow-up treatment;they were divided into two groups: case (40 patients) and control (40 patients). An interview questionnaire was used to assess patients’ knowledge regarding warning signs, risk factors, and immediate treatment;attitude;and their practice for prevention for stroke at pretest and posttest. Results: The study revealed the poor level of knowledge, bad level of preventive behavior, and negative attitude regarding stroke prevention at pre-intervention. However, after intervention, the high-risk people had fair level of knowledge with moderate practice for stroke prevention and positive attitude, with statistically significant difference between pre-post intervention and between the case and control groups. Conclusions: The study revealed that the nursing intervention seemed to change the knowledge, practice, and attitude of subjects regarding stroke prevention. This, in turn, implies that awareness of prevention of stroke and high-risk factor control could be important to reduce the burden of stroke in Egypt. Thus, further research on a larger scale is required to improve population knowledge and behavior for stroke prevention and control.展开更多

文摘Objective:This study aims to analyze the research hotspots and trends in nursing care for children with Kawasaki disease. Methods:The study utilized the CiteSpace 6.1.R6 software to visualize nursing-related research on Kawasaki disease in children, drawing from articles published in the CNKI and Web of Science core collection databases from January 1,2014,to January 1,2024.Key analysis components included authors, institutions, and keywords, supported by the creation of a corresponding knowledge map. Results:Literature Publications:Over the past decade, the analysis encompassed a total of 309 Chinese articles on nursing care for children with Kawasaki disease, with an average annual publication rate of 30.9 articles.Additionally,251 foreign language articles were scrutinized, exhibiting an average annual publication rate of 25.1 articles.Author and Institution Analysis:In Chinese literature, the notable figure of Huang Rimei emerged as a prolific author, with the Children's Hospital Affiliated with Zhengzhou University standing out as a high-yielding institution.Conversely,in English literature, the prolific authors Burns and Jane C were prominent, alongside the University of California,San Diego, which emerged as a high-yielding institution.Keyword and Research Hotspots Analysis:The focal points of research in Chinese literature revolved around continuous nursing, cardiovascular complications, clinical nursing pathways, rehabilitation effects, holistic nursing, and gamma globulin.Conversely,English literature emphasized research hotspots such as cardiovascular complications, treatment modalities, diagnostic approaches,long-term management strategies, gamma globulin therapy, steroid pulse therapy, and pediatric multisystem inflammatory syndrome. Conclusions:The quantity of Chinese literature concerning nursing care for children with Kawasaki disease appears comparatively scant, underscored by an uneven distribution of issuing institutions and a lack of influence. To address this, future endeavors should prioritize bolstering collaboration across diverse regions and institutions, conducting multi-center,cross-regional research, implementing clinical nursing pathways, and augmenting the continuity of care.Conversely, the upsurge in English literature publications regarding nursing care for children with Kawasaki disease signals a burgeoning interest, primarily concentrated on treatment modalities. This trend advocates for the integration of medical and nursing care and emphasizes the importance of remaining abreast of advancements in managing Kawasaki disease in children.
文摘Objective: Stroke is perceived as a serious illness although it is preventable, and lifestyle alterations can be made to reduce its risk. Thus, further research on a larger scale is required to improve population knowledge and behavior for stroke prevention and control.
文摘Objectives:This study employed evidence mapping to systematically evaluate clinical practice guidelines(CPGs)for neurogenic bladder(NB)care. We aimed to identify research trends, evidence gaps, and consensus patterns to inform evidence-based nursing practices and support the formulation of highquality CPGs.Methods:A systematic search of electronic databases and guideline repositories was conducted, included PubMed,Web of Science,Embase,Guidelines International Network(GIN),ect.Eligible NB guidelines underwent dual-researcher screening and extraction, and methodological and recommendation quality were assessed using the Appraisal of Guidelines for Research and Evaluation II(AGREE II)and Evaluation-Recommendations Excellence(AGREE-REX)instruments.Five researchers independently evaluated recommendation specificity, evidence grading systems, and implementation consistency.Discrepancies were resolved through consensus discussion or third-party arbitration. Results:Analysis of 19 CPGs(2006–2023)from 11 countries/regions revealed that 78.95%(15/19)incorporated evidence grading systems and 68.42%(13/19)specifiedrecommendation strength. The AGREE II evaluation identifiedcritical methodological deficiencies, with three domains scoring below the acceptable thresholds:Rigor of Development(41.70%),Editorial Independence(43.30%),and Applicability(30.00%).The AGREE-REX results showed moderate performance in Clinical Applicability(55.56%)and implantability(41.67%)but severe gaps in Values and Preferences(25.00%).A systematic synthesis identified40 recommendations:90%(36/40)demonstrated consensus and 10%(4/40)contradictions.These studies addressed the following six clinical themes:1)nursing assessment,2)manipulation-assisted voiding,3)behavioral therapy,4)intermittent catheterization,5)indwelling catheterization, and 6)other therapies. Conclusions:The methodologies and recommendations of the CPGs for NB in nursing demonstrated substantial variability. Therefore, there is an urgent need to improve the quality of the NB-related CPGs.More in-depth research and timely updates are required to enhance the practical utility of CPGs and narrow the gap between CPGs and clinical practice.

文摘BACKGROUND Depression is a common psychological disorder often associated with genetic, neurobiological, and psychosocial factors. This condition is characterized by low mood and decreased conscious activity and can lead to severe consequences such as suicidal thoughts.Respiratory failure,a disorder of pulmonary ventilation and gas exchange,is frequently complicated by depression, aggravating the condition and creating complications in treatment.Patients with both conditions tend to exhibit poor compliance with medical advice, resulting in adverse outcomes such as sleep disorders, arrhythmias, and electrolyte imbalances. Therefore, effective nursing interventions are crucial for improving patient outcomes. While routine nursing care can provide basic support, dedicated nursing, which involves specialized and personalized care by highly trained professionals, may offer additional benefits.AIM To examine the effect of dedicated nursing intervention on medical advice compliance and adverse event incidence in patients with depression complicated by respiratory failure.METHODS A total of 160 patients with depression complicated by respiratory failure admitted to the Second Affiliated Hospital of Soochow University from January to December 2024 were randomly categorized into a control group(n=80)receiving routine nursing care and observation group(n=80)receiving routine nursing combined with dedicated nursing care. The establishment of a specialized nursing team;the development of a personalized nursing plan;and the implementation of comprehensive care strategies targeting emotional support, sleep improvement, pulmonary function enhancement, and adherence to medical advice were included in the dedicated nursing intervention.Emotional state[evaluated using the Self-Rating Depression Scale(SDS)],sleep quality[assessed using the Pittsburgh Sleep Quality Index(PSQI)],hope level[measured using the Herth Hope Scale(HHS)],pulmonary function[comprising forced vital capacity(FVC)and forced expiratory volume in the first second(FEV1)],exercise endurance[6-minute walk distance test(6MWD)],compliance with medical advice, and incidence of adverse events were compared between the two groups.RESULTS No significant differences were observed in SDS,PSQI,HHS,FVC,FEV1,6MWD,or compliance with medical advice between the two groups(P>0.05)before the intervention. However, after the intervention, the control group exhibited significantly lower SDS and PSQI scores;higher HHS scores;greater improvements in FVC,FEV1,and 6MWD;and higher compliance with medical advice compared with the control group(P<0.05).In addition, the incidence of adverse events was significantly lower in the control group(P<0.05).CONCLUSION Dedicated nursing intervention significantly improves emotional state, sleep quality, hope level, pulmonary function, exercise endurance, and compliance with medical advice while reducing adverse events in patients with depression complicated by respiratory failure. Therefore, dedicated nursing appears to be an effective approach to enhance patient outcomes in this population.
文摘Objective:To translate and adapt the dementia knowledge assessment scale(DKAS)into Sinhala version and to evaluate its psychometric properties among nursing students. Methods:A cross-sectional validation study was conducted in two phases:(i)translation and adaptation and(ii)evaluating psychometric properties(N=394 nursing students). Results:The DKAS was adapted to the Sinhala(Si-DKAS)version,and the content validity index(CVI=0.9)was satisfactory.Exploratory factor analysis(EFA)and confirmatory factor analysis(CFA)resulted in an 18-item Si-DKAS with a four-factor model:“care considerations,”“causes and characteristics of dementia,”“health promotion,”and“misconceptions about dementia.”The model fit indices were suboptimal(comparative fix index[CFI]=0.809 and Turker-Lewis index[TLI]=0.773),and some indices were acceptable(standardized root-mean-squared residual[SRMR]=0.040 and root-mean-squared error of approximation[RMSEA]=0.053).Internal consistency(0.7)and test-retest correlation(0.9)were acceptable.Discriminant validity was confirmed by knowledge score differences based on academic years. Conclusions:This is a valid and reliable tool for assessing knowledge of dementia among Sinhala-speaking nursing students.
