Deep shale reservoirs are characterized by elevated breakdown pressures, diminished fracture complexity, and reduced modified volumes compared to medium and shallow reservoirs. Therefore,it is urgent to investigate particular injection strategies that can optimize breakdown pressure and fracturing efficiency to address the increasing demands for deep shale reservoir stimulation. In this study, the efficiency of various stimulation strategies, including multi-cluster simultaneous fracturing, modified alternating fracturing, alternating shut-in fracturing, and cyclic alternating fracturing, was evaluated.Subsequently, the sensitivity of factors such as the cycle index,shut-in time, cluster spacing, and horizontal permeability was investigated.Additionally, the flow distribution effect within the wellbore was discussed. The results indicate that relative to multi-cluster simultaneous fracturing, modified alternating fracturing exhibits reduced susceptibility to the stress shadow effect, which results in earlier breakdown, extended hydraulic fracture lengths, and more consistent propagation despite an increase in breakdown pressure. The alternating shut-in fracturing benefits the increase of fracture length, which is closely related to the shut-in time.Furthermore, cyclic alternating fracturing markedly lowers breakdown pressure and contributes to uniform fracture propagation,in which the cycle count plays an important role.Modified alternating fracturing demonstrates insensitivity to variations in cluster spacing, whereas horizontal permeability is a critical factor affecting fracture length. The wellbore effect restrains the accumulation of pressure and flow near the perforation, delaying the initiation of hydraulic fractures. The simulation results can provide valuable numerical insights for optimizing injection strategies for deep shale hydraulic fracturing. 展开更多

Grouted rock bolts subject to axial loading in the field exhibit various failure modes, among which the most predominant one is the bolt-grout interface failure. Thus, mechanical characterization of the grout is essential for understanding its performance in ground support. To date, few studies have been conducted to characterize the mechanical behaviour of fiber-reinforced grout(FRG)in rock bolt reinforcement. Here we experimentally studied the mechanical behaviour of FRG under uniaxial compression, indirect tension, and direct shear loading conditions. We also conducted a series of pullout tests of rebar bolt encapsulated with different grouts including conventional cementitious grout and FRG.FRG was developed using 15%silica fume(SF)replacement of cement(by weight)and steel fiber to achieve highstrength and crack-resistance to overcome drawbacks of the conventional grout. Two types of steel fibers including straight and wavy steel fibers were further added to enhance the grout quality. The effect of fiber shape and fiber volume proportion on the grout mechanical properties were examined. Our experimental results showed that the addition of SF and steel fiber by 1.5%fiber volume proportion could lead to the highest compressive, tensile, and shear strengths of the grout. The minimum volume of fiber that could improve the mechanical properties of grout was found at 0.5%.The scanning electron microscopy(SEM)analysis demonstrated that steel fibers act as an excellent bridge to prevent the cracks from propagating at the interfacial region and hence to aid in maintaining the integrity of the cementitious grout. Our laboratory pullout tests further confirmed that FRG could prevent the cylindrical grout annulus from radial crack and hence improve the rebar’s load carrying capacity. Therefore,FRG has a potential to be utilized in civil and mining applications where high-strength and crack-resistance support is required. 展开更多

Enhanced geothermal systems(EGSs)in this study are classified as fracturing-EGS(F-EGS),pipe-EGS(P-EGS)and excavation-EGS(E-EGS)according to reservoir stimulation strategies. However, the heat extraction performances of three EGSs employing different stimulation strategies are not fully understood. Here,we define the region where the pore pressure increment calculated by a hydraulic fracturing process is higher than rock tensile strength as the stimulation region for establishing a more accurate F-EGS model, and then compare three geothermal systems to select a appropriate reservoir stimulation strategy. We find that the F-EGS model assuming an entire stimulated region significantly exaggerates the heat extraction results. The optimal conditions for P-EGS are low injection rates and short operation times, which is suiTablefor seasonal heating or multi-energy co-generation projects including a thermal recovery phase.Theoretically,E-EGS has better geothermal extraction performance than F-EGS based on existing model assumptions, but its construction feasibility and economics need further exploration.H2O is more suiTableas a heat exchange fluid in E-EGS than supercritical CO_(2).This study provides a reference for geothermal mining simulation and reservoir stimulation strategy selection. 展开更多
