This study aimed to develop An Interactive On-the-Job Training Monitoring and Help Desk System with SMS for the College of Information and Communication Technology Nueva Ecija University of Science and Technology. The system made the OJT course procedure trouble-free by emerging a system accessible through the internet. Students have a user account, which gives them the aptitude to upload document files of their reports, thereby minimizing the time and energy spent traveling from the company’s location to the university and the other way around. Similarly, the OJT coordinators of the college are given their accounts to access and check the reports submitted by the students. The system is capable of generating reports and requirements in real-time, as long as all data is stored within the database and, therefore, the process is completed online. In addition, the system provides an interactive website that might help both students and coordinators to communicate instantaneously by having an online help desk where the students can ask related questions on their OJT course that the OJT coordinator and other students will answer. The coordinators can send a brief message service to the students enrolled within the OJT course through the utilization of the proposed system - this can be for the students who aren’t capable of opening their account more often, in order that they are still informed of the announcements they need to understand immediately. The interactive OJT help desk system with SMS can be used as a tool to help the students of the College of Information and Communication Technology (CICT) and the OJT coordinators in their tasks more conveniently. 展开更多

Shaping the future of application for information and communication technology in national economic analysis

Characterized by networking,digitization,and intellectualization,the new generation of Information and Communication Technologies(ICTs)has promoted integration of various national economic industries,with a more significant leading role in the socio-economic development.In order to describe the influence of ICT industries on economic growth,this paper has comprehensively analyzed the contribution mechanism of ICTs to current economy.Crucial indicators,such as Total Telecommunications Business(TTB),Data Traffic(DT),and Computing Power Development Index(CPDI),have been innovatively selected to sufficiently describe the data circulation scale and the processing capacity in the era of digital economy.Based on relevant statistics of 31 provinces(municipalities or autonomous regions)in China from 2011 to 2020,quantitative results have been put forward to interpret the impact of ICT industries on the national economy development by using correlation coefficient analysis and data regression analysis methods.The measurement results show that TTB,DT,and CPDI are positively correlated with the national economic development,indicating that each 1%increasement of TTB,DT,and CPDI increases Gross Domestic Product(GDP)by 0.08%,0.09%,and 0.6%,respectively. 展开更多

The evolution of next-generation cellular networks is aimed at creating faster,more reliable solutions.Both the next-generation 6G network and the metaverse require high transmission speeds.Visible light communication(VLC)is deemed an important ancillary technology to wireless communication.It has shown potential for a wide range of applications in next-generation communication.Micro light-emitting diodes(μLEDs)are ideal light sources for high-speed VLC,owing to their high modulation bandwidths.In this review,an overview ofμLEDs for VLC is presented.Methods to improve the modulation bandwidth are discussed in terms of epitaxy optimization,crystal orientation,and active region structure.Moreover,electroluminescent white LEDs,photoluminescent white LEDs based on phosphor or quantum-dot color conversion,andμLED-based detectors for VLC are introduced.Finally,the latest high-speed VLC applications and the application prospects of VLC in 6G are introduced,including underwater VLC and artificial intelligence-based VLC systems. 展开更多

Advancements in mode-division multiplexing(MDM)techniques,aimed at surpassing the Shannon limit and augmenting transmission capacity,have garnered significant attention in optical fiber communica-tion,propelling the demand for high-quality multiplexers and demultiplexers.However,the criteria for ideal-mode multiplexers/demultiplexers,such as performance,scalability,compatibility,and ultra-compactness,have only partially been achieved using conventional bulky devices(e.g.,waveguides,grat-ings,and free space optics)—an issue that will substantially restrict the application of MDM techniques.Here,we present a neuro-meta-router(NMR)optimized through deep learning that achieves spatial multi-mode division and supports multi-channel communication,potentially offering scalability,com-patibility,and ultra-compactness.An MDM communication system based on an NMR is theoretically designed and experimentally demonstrated to enable simultaneous and independent multi-dataset transmission,showcasing a capacity of up to 100 gigabits per second(Gbps)and a symbol error rate down to the order of 104,all achieved without any compensation technologies or correlation devices.Our work presents a paradigm that merges metasurfaces,fiber communications,and deep learning,with potential applications in intelligent metasurface-aided optical interconnection,as well as all-optical pat-tern recognition and classification. 展开更多

In this paper,we propose a rate splitting multiple access(RSMA)based integrated sensing and communication system(ISAC),where the sensing and communication are realized simultaneously with the RSMA signal.Further,reconfigurable holographic surface(RHS)is utilized to replace the traditional antennas for beam generation,expecting to combine the advantages of RSMA and RHS.To maximize the weighted summation of system rate and probing power,an optimization problem is formulated to jointly design the digital beamformer,the holographic beamformer and the message splitting vectors.To solve the non-convex problem,we first decompose it into two subproblems,where one jointly designs the digital beamformer and message splitting vectors,and the other deals with the holographic beamformer.An iterative algorithm,which leverages successive convex approximation and semi-definite relaxation,is proposed to achieve the sub-optimal solution through solving these two subproblems alternatively.Simulations confirm the effectiveness and efficiency of the proposed algorithm. 展开更多

In this paper,we investigate the performance of physical layer security(PLS)over reconfigurable intelligent surfaces(RIS)-aided wireless communication systems,where all fading channels are modeled with Fisher-Snedecor F distribution.Specifically,we consider a RIS with N reflecting elements between the transmitter and the legitimate receiver to develop a smart environment and also meliorate secure communications.In this regard,we derive the closed-form expressions for the secrecy outage probability(SOP)and average secrecy capacity(ASC).We also analyze the asymptotic behaviour of the SOP and ASC by exploiting the residue approach.Monte-Carlo(MC)simulation results are provided throughout to validate the correctness of the developed analytical results,showing that considering RIS in wireless communication systems has constructive effects on the secrecy performance. 展开更多

With the continuous advancement of communication and unmanned aerial vehicle(UAV)technologies,the collaborative operations of diverse platforms,including UAVs and ground vehicles,have been significantly promoted.However,battlefield uncertainties,such as equipment failures and enemy attacks,can impact these collaborative operations'stability and communication efficiency.To this end,we design a highly destruction-resistant air-ground cooperative resilient networking platform that aims to enhance the robustness of network communications by integrating ground vehicle information for UAV network deployment.It then incorporates the concept of virtual guiding force,enabling the UAV swarm to adaptively configure its network layout based on ground vehicle information,thereby improving network destruction resistance.Simulation results demonstrate that the UAV swarm involved in the proposed platform exhibits balanced flight energy consumption and excellent performance in network destruction resistance. 展开更多

With the rapid development of network technologies,a large number of deployed edge devices and information systems generate massive amounts of data which provide good support for the advancement of data-driven intelligent models.However,these data often contain sensitive information of users.Federated learning(FL),as a privacy preservation machine learning setting,allows users to obtain a well-trained model without sending the privacy-sensitive local data to the central server.Despite the promising prospect of FL,several significant research challenges need to be addressed before widespread deployment,including network resource allocation,model security,model convergence,etc.In this paper,we first provide a brief survey on some of these works that have been done on FL and discuss the motivations of the Communication Networks(CNs)and FL to mutually enable each other.We analyze the support of network technologies for FL,which requires frequent communication and emphasizes security,as well as the studies on the intelligence of many network scenarios and the improvement of network performance and security by the methods based on FL.At last,some challenges and broader perspectives are explored. 展开更多

Research on Beam Peak Search Reduction for 5G mm-Wave OTA Testing

For 5G millimeter wave(mm-Wave)user equipments(UEs),all test cases must be evaluated in Over-The-Air(OTA)manner.Test time increases dramatically compared to Sub-6 GHz.Therefore,test time reduction is of great significance for 5G mm-Wave OTA testing.Among all test cases,beam peak search is the most time-consuming,taking up the majority of the overall test time.Therefore,the objective of this work is to determine a suitable beam peak search grid for 5G mm-Wave UEs with satisfactory accuracy and efficiency.Through radiation property investigation of 5G mm-Wave commercial UEs,more reasonable reference array configuration(4×2)and reference deployment scenario(composite beam)are proposed for beam peak search grid analysis.The effect of different grid configurations on beam peak search precision are characterized quantitatively.The determination of associated measurement uncertainty(MU)term along with quantitative analysis approach are proposed based on statistical analysis.Finally,the recommended minimum number of beam peak search grid points is 182 based on the proposed 4×2 array under composite beam scenario.Compared with currently-required 1106 points in 3GPP/CTIA specifications,over 80%reduction can be achieved without increasing the MU limit.The feasibility of the proposed MU analysis as well as the recommended grids is demonstrated through measurements. 展开更多

It remains difficult to automate the creation and validation of Unified Modeling Language(UML)dia-grams due to unstructured requirements,limited automated pipelines,and the lack of reliable evaluation methods.This study introduces a cohesive architecture that amalgamates requirement development,UML synthesis,and multimodal validation.First,LLaMA-3.2-1B-Instruct was utilized to generate user-focused requirements.Then,DeepSeek-R1-Distill-Qwen-32B applies its reasoning skills to transform these requirements into PlantUML code.Using this dual-LLM pipeline,we constructed a synthetic dataset of 11,997 UML diagrams spanning six major diagram families.Rendering analysis showed that 89.5%of the generated diagrams compile correctly,while invalid cases were detected automatically.To assess quality,we employed a multimodal scoring method that combines Qwen2.5-VL-3B,LLaMA-3.2-11B-Vision-Instruct and Aya-Vision-8B,with weights based on MMMU performance.A study with 94 experts revealed strong alignment between automatic and manual evaluations,yielding a Pearson correlation of r=0.82 and a Fleiss’Kappa of 0.78.This indicates a high degree of concordance between automated metrics and human judgment.Overall,the results demonstrated that our scoring system is effective and that the proposed generation pipeline produces UML diagrams that are both syntactically correct and semantically coherent.More broadly,the system provides a scalable and reproducible foundation for future work in AI-driven software modeling and multimodal verification. 展开更多

Automating the Initial Development of Intent-Based Task-Oriented Dialog Systems Using Large Language Models:Experiences and Challenges

Building reliable intent-based,task-oriented dialog systems typically requires substantial manual effort:designers must derive intents,entities,responses,and control logic from raw conversational data,then iterate until the assistant behaves consistently.This paper investigates how far large language models(LLMs)can automate this development.In this paper,we use two reference corpora,Let’s Go(English,public transport)and MEDIA(French,hotel booking),to prompt four LLM families(GPT-4o,Claude,Gemini,Mistral Small)and generate the core specifications required by the rasa platform.These include intent sets with example utterances,entity definitions with slot mappings,response templates,and basic dialog flows.To structure this process,we introduce a model-and platform-agnostic pipelinewith two phases.The first normalizes and validates LLM-generated artifacts,enforcing crossfile consistency andmaking slot usage explicit.The second uses a lightweight dialog harness that runs scripted tests and incrementally patches failure points until conversations complete reliably.Across eight projects,all models required some targeted repairs before training.After applying our pipeline,all reached≥70%task completion(many above 84%),while NLU performance ranged from mid-0.6 to 1.0 macro-F1 depending on domain breadth.These results show that,with modest guidance,current LLMs can produce workable end-to-end dialog prototypes directly fromraw transcripts.Our main contributions are:(i)a reusable bootstrap method aligned with industry domain-specific languages(DSLs),(ii)a small set of high-impact corrective patterns,and(iii)a simple but effective harness for closed-loop refinement across conversational platforms. 展开更多

A Novel Semi-Supervised Multi-View Picture Fuzzy Clustering Approach for Enhanced Satellite Image Segmentation

Satellite image segmentation plays a crucial role in remote sensing,supporting applications such as environmental monitoring,land use analysis,and disaster management.However,traditional segmentation methods often rely on large amounts of labeled data,which are costly and time-consuming to obtain,especially in largescale or dynamic environments.To address this challenge,we propose the Semi-Supervised Multi-View Picture Fuzzy Clustering(SS-MPFC)algorithm,which improves segmentation accuracy and robustness,particularly in complex and uncertain remote sensing scenarios.SS-MPFC unifies three paradigms:semi-supervised learning,multi-view clustering,and picture fuzzy set theory.This integration allows the model to effectively utilize a small number of labeled samples,fuse complementary information from multiple data views,and handle the ambiguity and uncertainty inherent in satellite imagery.We design a novel objective function that jointly incorporates picture fuzzy membership functions across multiple views of the data,and embeds pairwise semi-supervised constraints(must-link and cannot-link)directly into the clustering process to enhance segmentation accuracy.Experiments conducted on several benchmark satellite datasets demonstrate that SS-MPFC significantly outperforms existing state-of-the-art methods in segmentation accuracy,noise robustness,and semantic interpretability.On the Augsburg dataset,SS-MPFC achieves a Purity of 0.8158 and an Accuracy of 0.6860,highlighting its outstanding robustness and efficiency.These results demonstrate that SSMPFC offers a scalable and effective solution for real-world satellite-based monitoring systems,particularly in scenarios where rapid annotation is infeasible,such as wildfire tracking,agricultural monitoring,and dynamic urban mapping. 展开更多

This study proposes a multi-scale finite element simulation method to investigate the vehicle-induced local vibration effects of orthotropic steel decks(OSDs)by considering tire-road contact conditions.It also focuses on the differences between the dynamic amplification factors(DAFs)of local deflection and strain compared to those corresponding overall response,as well as the influence of road roughness and driving speed on localized DAFs.The results show that vehicle-induced local vibration is distinct near vehicle wheels,especially within 0.5 m from the wheel centerline in the transverse direction and 0.3 m in the longitudinal direction.The localized strain DAFs may potentially exceed 1.4.Generally,the dynamic deflection of a bridge deck is mainly determined by the first system stiffness of OSDs,i.e.,sectional stiffness of the bridge girder.However,the dynamic strain of OSDs arises from the combination of overall bridge modes and local bridge deck panel modes,leading to a higher localized strain DAFs of approximately 16%compared to the overall bridge.Longitudinal and vertical strain DAFs typically occur on U-ribs,while the transverse strain DAFs often arise at stiffness discontinuities of OSD.The recurrent structural variations of OSDs in the transverse and vertical directions result in the maximum vertical strain DAF. 展开更多

As investigated by 3GPP,support of UPF(user plane function)onboard satellite can reduce the latency of communications via satellite,and then it becomes a key enhancement in 5G network integrating with satellite communication.However,current 5G system cannot support UPF onboard LEO(low earth orbit)satellites,as it would face challenges like UPF mobility handling,synchronization between mobile network and satellite network,and condition of activating local data switching.To solve such challenges,this paper proposes a solution to support UPF onboard LEO satellite,which consists of enhanced network architecture,I-UPF(intermediate UPF)based local data switching scheme and communication latency based data path selection.We subsequently develop analytic models for performance evaluation and conduct simulations using the constellation configuration of iridium II.The simulation results show that the data switching via I-UPF onboard LEO satellite can reduce E2E(end to end)packet delivery latency and E2E packet loss ratio significantly compared with that of routing the data back to 5GC on the ground.The proposed scheme yet has increased signaling cost for handling UPF mobility.els,compared with existing similar companding algorithms. 展开更多

This study demonstrates a novel integration of large language models,machine learning,and multicriteria decision-making to investigate self-moderation in small online communities,a topic under-explored compared to user behavior and platform-driven moderation on social media.The proposed methodological framework(1)utilizes large language models for social media post analysis and categorization,(2)employs k-means clustering for content characterization,and(3)incorporates the TODIM(Tomada de Decisão Interativa Multicritério)method to determine moderation strategies based on expert judgments.In general,the fully integrated framework leverages the strengths of these intelligent systems in a more systematic evaluation of large-scale decision problems.When applied in social media moderation,this approach promotes nuanced and context-sensitive self-moderation by taking into account factors such as cultural background and geographic location.The application of this framework is demonstrated within Facebook groups.Eight distinct content clusters encompassing safety,harassment,diversity,and misinformation are identified.Analysis revealed a preference for content removal across all clusters,suggesting a cautious approach towards potentially harmful content.However,the framework also highlights the use of other moderation actions,like account suspension,depending on the content category.These findings contribute to the growing body of research on self-moderation and offer valuable insights for creating safer and more inclusive online spaces within smaller communities. 展开更多

Developing practical anion exchange membrane water electrolysis(AEMWE)technology encounters great challenges in not only cell efficiency but also long-term durability due to mechanical electrocatalyst detachment and electrochemical dissolution of active species,especially for the anodic oxygen evolution reaction(OER).Herein,a"two-pronged"approach is proposed to construct organophosphorus-protected NiFe layered double hydroxide catalysts on plasma-modified substrate,serving as an efficient and robust anode for practical AEMWE.Mechanical tests combined with operando spectroscopies and theoretical calculations demonstrate that the plasma modification strengthens the catalyst-substrate adhesion,while the organophosphorus protection prevents Fe leaching and promotes reaction kinetics during OER.The resultant electrode delivers an ultralow overpotential of 276 mV at 1 A cm^(-2),together with a remarkable stability at 0.5 A cm^(-2)over 500 h.Furthermore,assembling the optimized anode into an AEMWE device contributes to a minimized cell voltage of 1.70 V at 1 A cm^(-2),which sustains durable green hydrogen production with an economical energy consumption of 4.16 kW h Nm^(-3)H_(2). 展开更多
