The Jiuyishan granitic complex,located in the Nanling Range,South China,is composed of five granitic plutons(Xuehuading,Jinjiling,Pangxiemu,Shaziling and Xishan).Zircon U-Pb dating of four plutons(Jinjiling,Pangxiemu,...The Jiuyishan granitic complex,located in the Nanling Range,South China,is composed of five granitic plutons(Xuehuading,Jinjiling,Pangxiemu,Shaziling and Xishan).Zircon U-Pb dating of four plutons(Jinjiling,Pangxiemu,Shaziling and Xishan)yielded similar ages of approximately 153 Ma,indicating indistinguishable ages within error.Three plutons except the Shaziling pluton,have consistentε_(Nd)(t)(-7.8 to-5.8)andε_(Hf)(t)(-9.1 to-2.2)values,which are similar to those of the lower crustal granulitic metasedimentary and meta-igneous rocks in South China.Compared to other three plutons,the Shaziling pluton has consistentε_(Nd)(t)(-7.4 to-6.8)andε_(Hf)(t)(-7.5 to-4.7)values and shows similar source,but the Shaziling mafic microgranular enclaves(MMEs)show variableε_(Hf)(t)(-14.2 to 4.8)values,indicating a remarkable mantle magma injection of the Shaziling pluton.Zircon Ce/Sm-Yb/Gd,whole-rock CaO-P_(2)O_(5)and CaO-TiO_(2)linear trends reveal that from the Xishan to the Shaziling and from the Jinjiling to the Pangxiemu granites,they experienced apatite and titanite fractionation,respectively.Zircon Th,U,Nb,Ta,Hf,Ti,Y,P and rare earth element(REE)contents and whole-rock Sr,Ba and Rb contents also show that the Shaziling,Xishan,Jinjiling and Pangxiemu granites followed a discontinuous evolutionary series,but the Pangxiemu granites exhibit highly evolved nature.Four main controlling factors of W-Sn and rare metal mineralization in granitic rocks were discussed,and we found that the mineralization in Jiuyishan granitic complex was mainly controlled by the fractionation degree and crystallization temperature,but were rarely affected by oxygen fugacity and mantle material input.The Pangxiemu granites show particularly higher Rb and Ta contents than the other three plutons,implying that the ore deposits developed in the Jiuyishan Complex were directly related to the most evolved Pangxiemu pluton,with the occurrence of Rb and Ta as the most likely rare metal mineralization in the Jiuyishan District.A crystal mush model is proposed to interpret the petrogenetic and mineralizing processes of the Jiuyishan granitic complex.展开更多

Neonicotinoid insecticides(NEOs)have become an integral part of the global insecticide market due to their high efficiency and low toxicity.However,their environmental persistence has raised significant ecological con...Neonicotinoid insecticides(NEOs)have become an integral part of the global insecticide market due to their high efficiency and low toxicity.However,their environmental persistence has raised significant ecological concerns.Dongting Lake represents a vital freshwater lake in China,and its ecosystem health directly affects regional ecological balance and people’s livelihoods.This study systematically investigated the occurrence characteristics and ecological risks of NEOs in water bodies and sediments across the Dongting Lake basin.Based on surface water and sediment samples collected from 26 representative sampling sites,this study quantified nine NEOs using liquid chromatography triple quadrupole mass spectrometry.Furthermore,it assessed ecological risks posed by the NEOs using the risk quotient(RQ)method and fugacity modeling.The results revealed the presence of six NEOs in the water bodies:imidacloprid(IMI),acetamiprid(ACE),clothianidin(CLO),thiamethoxam(THIA),flonicamid(FLO),and dinotefuran(DIN).The total concentrations of these six NEOs averaged 275.11 ng/L.Five predominant NEOs(i.e.,IMI,THIA,ACE,CLO,and DIN)were identified in the sediments,with a mean concentration of 0.31 ng/g.The NEO concentrations in the water bodies across the Dongting Lake basin increased in the order of the Xiangjiang,Zishui,Yuanjiang,and Lishui rivers(collectively referred to as the Four Rivers),the mainstream of Dongting Lake,the Xinqiang River,the Miluo River,and the Hudu,Ouchi,and Songzi rivers(collectively referred to as the Three Outlets).Sediments from tributaries progressively accumulate in the lake.The ecological risk assessment identified IMI and DIN as the highest-risk compounds(RQ>1),with high-risk areas concentrated in the mainstream of Dongting Lake and the Ouchi,Miluo,and Hudu rivers.The fugacity model showed that IMI,ACE,and THIA are prone to diffuse from sediments to water bodies in most areas,with fugacity fractions(ff)values of greater than 0.5.In contrast,the mainstream of Dongting Lake acts as a sink of CLO and DIN(ff values:<0.5).Sediments at the lake’s outlet emerge as an important sink of NEOs.Based on the results of this study,it is advisable to strengthen the supervision of NEO applications in agricultural areas and to implement zonal control strategies.These measures will help reduce ecological risks and protect the safety of water ecosystems in the Dongting Lake region.展开更多

In floodplain wetlands,alterations in hydrological patterns resulting from climate change and human activities could potentially diminish the carbon sequestration capacity of the soils,thereby having a negative impact...In floodplain wetlands,alterations in hydrological patterns resulting from climate change and human activities could potentially diminish the carbon sequestration capacity of the soils,thereby having a negative impact on global climate change.However,the magnitude of the influence of hydrological regime change on soil carbon remains inadequately monitored.To address this research gap,we collected 306 upper layer(0–20 cm)soil samples from the Dongting Lake floodplain between 2013 and 2022.The random forest(RF)algorithm was used to analyze the spatial distribution of soil organic carbon(SOC)in the upper soil layer of Dongting Lake floodplain and the impact of climate and hydrological changes in the past decade on surface SOC in the East Dongting Lake area was studied.In 2022,the SOC concentration of the Dongting Lake floodplain upper layer soil ranged from 3.34 to 17.67 g kg^(-1),averaging 10.43 g kg^(-1),with a corresponding SOC density of(2.65±0.49)kg m^(-2) and total SOC stock of 6.82 Tg C(2.87–13.48 Tg C).From 2013 to 2022,the SOC concentration of the upper soil layer of the East Dongting Lake area decreased from 18.37 to 10.82 g kg^(-1).This reduction could be attributed to climate and hydrological changes which reduce SOC input by reducing vegetation growth and accelerating SOC decomposition.Above 21.4 m elevation,the amount of SOC loss increased with elevation,the loss being related to the decline in Miscanthus community biomass and greater susceptibility of higher altitude areas to climate and hydrological changes.Our results highlight the need for strengthening wetland SOC management to increase SOC in the soils to help combat climate change.展开更多
