In this work, a reticulated porous ceria ceramic material with interconnected porous structure was prepared by the impregnation technique using organic polyurethane sponges as template. The influences of pretreated sponge, dipping time length, pore size and sintering temperature on the porosity and strength of the porous ceria ceramics were system atically studied. With the increasing sintering temperature, the glass phase occurred and led to an increase in strength, but an decrease in porosity. Eventually, we analyzed the relationships betw een porosity and strength of these porous materials, aiming to provide theoretical and practical references for its application in clean-energy field.展开更多

The deformation-semisolid-casting (D-SSC) process developed by the author's group is presented. The D-SSC process is extremely effective to produce microstructures of refined intermetallic compound particles as well as the spheroidizedα-Al particles in the Al-Si based alloys containing highly concentrated Fe.In the D-SSC processed Al-Si-Cu alloy high elongation of about 20% was achieved even contained concentrated impurity of Fe.The D-SSC process is also useful to produce wrought aluminum alloys with microstructures of refinedα-Al particles.展开更多

X-ray diffraction shows that as the calcination temperature(T(Cal)) increases, the crystal particle diameter increases, but the B-site vacancy content decreases. According to a powder diffraction profile fitting technique and transmission electron microscopy results, the vacancy content can be estimated as 0.08,0.01, and 0.005 for T(Cal) = 1073,1273, and 1473 K, respectively. Magnetization versus temperature curves show that the magnetic transition temperatures, including the Curie temperature, are influenced by both B-site vacancies and double-exchange interaction between Mn^(3+) and Mn^(4+) cations. A core-shell model is proposed for vacancies located on the surfaces of the crystal particles. As an application, the magnetic moment angle θ(ij) between Mn^(3+) and Mn^(4+) cations on the surface, which decreases with decreasing vacancy content, can be obtained.展开更多
