Ferritic/martensitic(F/M)steel is widely used as a structural material in thermal and nuclear power plants.However,it is susceptible to intergranular damage,which is a critical issue,under service conditions.In this study,to improve the resistance to intergranular damage of F/M steel,a thermomechanical process(TMP)was employed to achieve a grain boundary engineering(GBE)microstructure in F/M steel P92.The TMP,including cold-rolling thickness reduction of 6%,9%,and 12%,followed by austenitization at 1323 K for 40 min and tempering at 1053 K for 45 min,was applied to the as-received(AR)P92 steel.The prior austenite grain(PAG)size,prior austenite grain boundary character distribution(GBCD),and connectivity of prior austenite grain boundaries(PAGBs)were investigated.Compared to the AR specimen,the PAG size did not change significantly.The fraction of coincident site lattice boundaries(CSLBs,3≤Σ≤29)and Σ3^(n) boundaries along PAGBs decreased with increasing reduction ratio because the recrystallization fraction increased with increasing reduction ratio.The PAGB connectivity of the 6%deformed specimen slightly deteriorated compared with that of the AR specimen.Moreover,potentiodynamic polarization studies revealed that the intergranular damage resistance of the studied steel could be improved by increasing the fraction of CSLBs along the PAGBs,indicating that the TMP,which involves low deformation,could enhance the intergranular damage resistance. 展开更多

Inbreeding increases genome homozygosity within populations,which can exacerbate inbreeding depression by exposing homozygous deleterious alleles that are responsible for declines in fitness traits.In small populations,genetic purging that occurs under the pressure of natural selection acts as an opposing force,contributing to a reduction of deleterious alleles.Both inbreeding and genetic purging are paramount in the field of conservation genomics.The Amur tiger(Panthera tigris altaica)lives in small populations in the forests of Northeast Asia and is among the most endangered animals on the planet.Using genome-wide assessment and comparison,we reveal substantially higher and more extensive inbreeding in wild Amur tigers(F_(ROH)=0.50)than in captive individuals(F_(ROH)=0.24).However,a relatively reduced number of lossof-function mutations in wild Amur tigers is observed compared to captive individuals,indicating genetic purging of inbreeding load with relatively large-effect alleles.The higher ratio of homozygous mutation load and number of fixed damaging alleles in the wild population indicates a less-efficient genetic purging,with purifying selection also contributing to this process.These findings provide valuable insights for the future conservation of Amur tigers. 展开更多

The deposition of ultrafine single-atom nickel particles on Nb_(2)C(MXene)was successfully achieved using a wet chemistry method to synthesize Ni@Nb_(2)C composite.This study explored the effect of Ni@Nb_(2)C on the hydrogen absorption and desorption properties of MgH_(2) through theoretical calculations and experimental investigations.Under the catalytic action of Ni@Nb2C,the initial dehydrogenation temperature of MgH_(2) was reduced by 121℃,with approximately 4.26 wt.% of H_(2) desorbed at 225℃ in 100 min.The dehydrogenation activation energy of the MgH_(2)+Ni@Nb_(2)C composite dropped to 86.7 kJ·mol^(-1),a reduction of 60.5 kJ·mol^(-1) compared to pure MgH_(2).Density functional theory calculations indicated that the incorporation of Ni@Nb_(2)C enhanced the performance of MgH_(2) performance by improving interactions among Nb_(2)C,Ni,Mg,and H atoms.In the Ni@Nb_(2)C+MgH_(2) system,the lengths of Mg-H bonds(1.91-1.99 A)were found to be longer than those observed in pure MgH_(2)(1.71 A).The dehydrogenation energy for this system(1.08 eV)was lower than that for Nb_(2)C(1.52 eV).These findings suggest that the synergistic effect of Ni and Nb2C significantly enhances the hydrogenation/dehydrogenation kinetics of MgH_(2),thereby introducing a novel approach for catalytic modification of solid hydrogen storage materials through synergistic actions. 展开更多

This study investigated the therapeutic effects on metabolic syndrome(MetS)and the impact on the intestinal barrier and gut microbiota of Fu brick tea aqueous extracts(FTE)on MetS in rats fed with a high-fat diet(HFD).Here,the results showed that FTE supplement significantly reduced HFD-induced weight gain,adiposity,dyslipidemia,fasting blood glucose(FBG)increment,and non-alcoholic fatty liver disease(NAFLD).Moreover,FTE supplement resulted in a decline in lipopolysaccharide(LPS)level and attenuation of colonic inflammation and oxidative stress to protect the intestinal barrier function.FTE supplement also maintained the intestinal barrier integrity by improving histological appearance and promoting ZO-1,Occludin,and Claudin-1 protein expression levels.Meanwhile,FTE supplement alleviated the gut microbiota dysbiosis by enhancing the Firmicutes/Bacteroidetes(F/B)ratio and stimulating the colonization of probiotic bacteria such as Akkermansia,Lactobacillus,Adlercreutzia,and Bacteroides.These findings collectively suggest that Fu brick tea could alleviate MetS and MetS-associated traits with the mechanism relevant to the protection of intestinal barrier and gut microbiota regulation. 展开更多

Pulpotomy,which belongs to vital pulp therapy,has become a strategy for managing pulpitis in recent decades.This minimally invasive treatment reflects the recognition of preserving healthy dental pulp and optimizing long-term patient-centered outcomes.Pulpotomy is categorized into partial pulpotomy(PP),the removal of a partial segment of the coronal pulp tissue,and full pulpotomy(FP),the removal of whole coronal pulp,which is followed by applying the biomaterials onto the remaining pulp tissue and ultimately restoring the tooth.Procedural decisions for the amount of pulp tissue removal or retention depend on the diagnostic of pulp vitality,the overall treatment plan,the patient’s general health status,and pulp inflammation reassessment during operation.This statement represents the consensus of an expert committee convened by the Society of Cariology and Endodontics,Chinese Stomatological Association.It addresses the current evidence to support the application of pulpotomy as a potential alternative to root canal treatment(RCT)on mature permanent teeth with pulpitis from a biological basis,the development of capping biomaterial,and the diagnostic considerations to evidence-based medicine.This expert statement intends to provide a clinical protocol of pulpotomy,which facilitates practitioners in choosing the optimal procedure and increasing their confidence in this rapidly evolving field. 展开更多

The article introduces a new method for three-dimensional reproduction of edentulous dental casts,and wax occlusion rims with jaw relation by using a commercial high-speed line laser scanner and reverse engineering software and evaluates the method’s accuracy in vitro.The method comprises three main steps:(i)acquisition of the three-dimensional stereolithography data of maxillary and mandibular edentulous dental casts and wax occlusion rims;(ii)acquisition of the three-dimensional stereolithography data of jaw relations;and(iii)registration of these data with the reverse engineering software and completing reconstruction.To evaluate the accuracy of this method,dental casts and wax occlusion rims of 10 edentulous patients were used.The lengths of eight lines between common anatomic landmarks were measured directly on the casts and occlusion rims by using a vernier caliper and on the three-dimensional computerized images by using the software measurement tool.The direct data were considered as the true values.The paired-samples t-test was used for statistical analysis.The mean differences between the direct and the computerized measurements were mostly less than 0.04 mm and were not significant(P.0.05).Statistical significance among 10 patients was assessed using one-way analysis of variance(P,0.05).The result showed that the 10 patients were considered statistically no significant.Therefore,accurate three-dimensional reproduction of the edentulous dental casts,wax occlusion rims,and jaw relations was achieved.The proposed method enables the visualization of occlusion from different views and would help to meet the demand for the computer-aided design of removable complete dentures. 展开更多

A series of catalysts were prepared by doping different loadings of CeO2 over TiO2-SiO2-WO3 and used for the selective catalytic reduction of NOx by NH3. The experimental results showed that the selective catalytic reduction(SCR) performance and SO2-resistant ability of TiO2-SiO2-WO3 were greatly enhanced by the introduction of cerium. The catalyst containing 10% CeO2 showed the highest NO conversion in a wide temperature range and good N2 selectivity with broad operation temperature window at the gas hourly space velocity(GHSV) of 30000 h–1, which was a very promising catalyst for NOx abatement from diesel engine exhaust. The catalysts were characterized by X-ray diffraction(XRD), scanning electron microscopy with energy dispersive X-ray spectroscopy(SEM-EDS), N2 adsorption-desorption(BET) and X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy(XPS). The characterization results showed that the bigger pore radius, higher surface atomic concentration and dispersion of Ce and the abundant adsorbed oxygen on the surface of catalyst contributed to the best NH3-SCR performance of CeO2/TiO2-SiO2-WO3 catalyst containing 10% CeO2. 展开更多

Southern rice black-streaked dwarf disease is a new rice disease that severely affects rice production in South China.To understand transmission capacity of the vector Sogatella furcifera to Southern rice black-streaked dwarf virus(SRBSDV) among different host plant species,potential host plants of SRBSDV collected from the diseased rice field and/or adjacent to the field in Hunan Province,China,were determined by RT-PCR,and the transmission rates of SRBSDV by S.furcifera among different host plant species were investigated.The results showed that host plants of SRBSDV in the rice fields were five of family Gramineae(Oryza sativa,Echinochloa crusgalli,Zea mays,Paspalum distichum,Alopecurus aequali) and two of family Cyperaceae(Juncellus serotinus and Cyperus difformis).S.furcifera could not transmit SRBSDV between gramineous plants and cyperaceous plants,and could not transmit SRBSDV between the gramineous plants,J.serotinus and C.difformis as well.However,SRBSDV could be transmitted by S.furcifera within gramineous plants.S.furcifera could transmit SRBSDV between interspecies among three species plants(O.sativa,E.crusgalli and Z.mays),and between P.distichum and A.aequali.At 15,20,25,30,and 35°C,both macropterous and brachypterous adult of S.furcifera could transmit SRBSDV from the plants(e.g.,E.crusgalli,Z.mays and O.sativa) infected with SRBSDV to rice seedlings.The transmission rates were first increased and then decreased with the increase of temperature.Macropterous adults transmitted SRBSDV from the viruliferous E.crusgalli,Z.may and rice plants to the healthy rice seedlings,and the infected rates of rice seedlings were 26.2,18.8 and 23.7% at 15°C,56.6,64.6 and 53.6% at 25°C,and was 11.2,10.2 and 7.3% at 35°C,respectively.Transmission capacity of brachypterous adults was significantly higher than that of macropterous adults at 15,20 and 25°C(P0.05),while transmission capacity of brachypterous adults was relatively lower compared with that of macropterous ones at 35°C.These results offer evidence on the transmission of SRBSDV via the vector S.furcifer among different host plants,which can be helpful to control Southern rice black-streaked dwarf disease by the appropriate cultural measures in South China. 展开更多

This study investigates the long-term effects of oral tea polyphenols (TPs) and Lactobacillus brevis M8 (LB) on biochemical parameters, digestive enzymes, and cytokines expression in broilers. In experiment 1,240 broiler chickens were selected to investigate the effects of 0.06 g/kg body weight (BW) TP and 1.0 ml/kg BW LB on broilers; in experiment 2, 180 broiler chickens were assigned randomly to three groups to investigate the effects of different dosages of TP (0.03, 0.06, and 0.09 g/kg BW) combined with 1.0 ml/kg BW LB on broilers; in experiment 3, 180 broiler chickens were assigned randomly to three groups to investigate the effects of different dosages of LB (0.5, 1.0, and 1.5 ml/kg BW) combined with 0.06 g/kg BW TP on broilers. The results showed that TP and LB affected serum biochemical parameters, and TP reduced serum cholesterol (CHO) and low-density lipoprotein cholesterol (LDL-C) abundances in a dosage-dependent manner (P〈0.05) on Day 84. Meanwhile, broilers fed a diet supplemented with TP or LB had a lower intestinal lipase activity on Day 84 compared with the control group (P〈0.05). Middle and high dosages of TP increased pancreatic lipase and proventriculus pepsin activities (P〈0.05). Also middle and high dosages of LB significantly enhanced pancreatic lipase activity (P〈0.05), while high LB supplementation inhibited intestinal trypsase (P〈0.05) on Day 84. Furthermore, both TP and LB reduced intestinal cytokine expression and nuclear factor-K B (NF-KB) mRNA level on Days 56 and 84. In conclusion, long-term treatment of TP and LB improved lipid metabolism and digestive enzymes activities, and affected intestinal inflammatory status, which may be associated with the NF-KB signal. 展开更多

The potential applications of shale oil as a substitute energy source are adversely influenced due to its high nitrogen content.In this work,four imidazolium ionic liquids(ILs),i.e.,1-butyl-3-methylimidazolium chloride([Bmim]Cl),1-butyl-3-methylimidazolium acetate([Bmim]Ac),1-butyl-3-methylimidazolium acetate/ZnAc2([Bmim]Ac/ZnAc2)and 1-butyl-3-methylimidazolium chloride/ZnAc2([Bmim]Cl/ZnAc2),were used to extract the basic nitrides and neutral nitrides from shale oil.The influence of extraction time,temperature,properties of N-compounds,ILs structure,mass ratio of IL/oil,multiple cycles of denitrogenation,physical mixing of ILs and ILs recyclability on extractive denitrogenation was systematically investigated.The denitrogenation performance of all ILs was determined and investigated from micro-level view withσ-profile.It was observed that,ILs composed of anions with weaker HB acceptor capacity,have the higher N-extraction efficiency to the neutral nitrogen compounds with weaker HB acceptor capacity.More than 96%N-extraction efficiency was achieved at the end of a single extraction cycle for time<10 min under 40℃C and 1:1 of IL:oil(w/w),especially 100%N-extraction efficiency was realized for carbazole and indole.The N-extraction efficiency up to 60.1%and 53.7%for real shale oil was realized by[Bmim]Ac and[Bmim]Ac/ZnAc2,respectively,which are about 10%better than other non-hydrodenitrogenation technologies.Moreover,[Bmim]Ac and[Bmim]Ac/ZnAc2 exhibited almost the same extractive denitrogenation performance after regeneration.This work has developed a new approach to lessen the nitrogen content of shale oil effectively and economically. 展开更多

External cervical resorption(ECR)refers to a pathological state in which resorption tissues penetrate into the dentin at the cervical aspect of the root.Despite being latent in its initial phase,ECR could cause severe damage to mineralized dental tissue and even involve the pulp if not given timely diagnosis and treatment.Nevertheless,the etiology of ECR is still poorly understood,which adds to the difficulty in early diagnosis.ECR has received growing attention in recent years due to the increasing number of clinical cases.Several potential predisposing factors have been recognized in cross-sectional studies as well as case reports.In the meantime,studies on histopathology and pathogenesis have shed light on possible mechanisms of ECR.This review aims to summarize the latest findings in the pathogenesis and potential predisposing factors of ECR,so as to provide pragmatic reference for clinical practice. 展开更多

Magnesium hydride(MgH_(2))is a potential material for solid-state hydrogen storage.However,the thermodynamic and kinetic properties are far from practical application in the current stage.In this work,two-dimensional vanadium carbide(V_(2)C)MXene with layer thickness of 50−100 nm was fist synthesized by selectively HF-etching the Al layers from V_(2)AlC MAX phase and then introduced into MgH_(2) to improve the hydrogen sorption performances of MgH_(2).The onset hydrogen desorption temperature of MgH_(2) with V_(2)C addition is significantly reduced from 318℃ for pure MgH_(2) to 190℃,with a 128℃ reduction of the onset temperature.The MgH_(2)+10 wt%V_(2)C composite can release 6.4 wt%of H_(2) within 10 min at 300℃ and does not loss any capacity for up to 10 cycles.The activation energy for the hydrogen desorption reaction of MgH_(2) with V_(2)C addition was calculated to be 112 kJ mol^(−1) H_(2) by Arrhenius’s equation and 87.6 kJ mol^(−1) H_(2) by Kissinger’s equation.The hydrogen desorption reaction enthalpy of MgH_(2)+10 wt%V_(2)C was estimated by van’t Hoff equation to be 73.6 kJ mol^(−1) H_(2),which is slightly lower than that of the pure MgH_(2)(77.9 kJ mol^(−1) H_(2)).Microstructure studies by XPS,TEM,and SEM showed that V_(2)C acts as an efficient catalyst for the hydrogen desorption reaction of MgH_(2).The first-principles density functional theory(DFT)calculations demonstrated that the bond length of Mg−H can be reduced from 1.71A for pure MgH_(2) to 2.14A for MgH_(2) with V_(2)C addition,which contributes to the destabilization of MgH_(2).This work provides a method to significantly and simultaneously tailor the hydrogen sorption thermodynamics and kinetics of MgH_(2) by two-dimensional MXene materials. 展开更多

Combined with fiber Bragg grating(FBG)sensing technology,four glass fiber reinforced polymer(GFRP)anti-floating anchors and four steel anti-floating anchors were tested for on-site destructive failure to investigate the anchoring performance and the bonding characteristics between GFRP anti-floating anchor and concrete floor.The test results show that bending GFRP anchor will be broken at the common boundary between vertical anchorage section and bending section during the pullout process,and the spring-back load provided by the rupture contributes to a decrease of bearing capacity and an inflection point on the load-slip curve.The loaddisplacement curve of the straight anchor GFRP anti-floating anchor is smoother and has better predictability than the same type of steel anchor.Additionally,different forms of GFRP anti-floating bolt have different bondslip constitutive relations.By introducing the sliding-slip correction factor of bending bolt,constitutive models describing the rising-section of sliding-slip relation of bending and straight-anchored GFRP anti-floating bolt are established respectively.The model can fit the test results rightly. 展开更多

Eugenol is a natural phenolic compound known for its health-promoting properties and its ability to add a floral scent to tea plants.Plant eugenol glycosides have been identified and shown to make important contributions to fruit floral quality.However,the details of their biosynthesis and metabolism in tea plants are still unknown.Here,eugenol glucoside was unambiguously identified as a native metabolite in the tea plant,and its biosynthesis was shown to be induced by low temperature treatment.Through the analysis of UGTs induced by low temperature,the glycosyltransferase CsUGT78A15 was identified in tea,and its encoded protein was shown to catalyze the glucosylation of eugenol.Vmax/Km ratios showed that eugenol was the most suitable substrate for CsUGT78A15.Sugar donor preference analysis showed that CsUGT78A15 had a higher selectivity for glucose,followed by galactose and glucuronic acid.The expression of CsUGT78A15was correlatedwith the accumulation of eugenol glucoside in different tissues and genotypes of tea.Down-regulation of CsUGT78A15 led to a decreased eugenol glucoside content under cold stress,indicating that CsUGT78A15 plays an important role in the biosynthesis of eugenol glucoside under cold stress.The identification of eugenol glucoside in the tea plant and the discovery of a cold stress-induced eugenol glucosyltransferase in tea provide the foundation for the improvement of tea flavor under cold stress and the biotechnological production of eugenol glucoside. 展开更多

Palladium catalysts are supported on TiO2, ZrO2, A12O3, Zro.sAlo.501.75 and TiO2-Zro.sAlo.501.75 prepared by co-precipitation method, re- spectively. Catalytic activities for methane and CO oxidation are evaluated in a gas mixture that simulated the exhaust from lean-burn natural gas vehicles (NGVs). Pd/TiO2-Zro.sAlo.501.75 performs the best catalytic activity among the tested five catalysts. For CH4, the light-off temperature (Tso) is 254 ℃, and the complete conversion temperature (Tgo) is 280 ℃; for CO, Tso is 84 ℃, and Tgo was 96 ℃. Various techniques, including N2 adsorption-desorption, X-ray diffraction (XRD), H2-temperature-programmed reduction (H2-TPR), X-ray photoelec- tron spectroscopy (XPS), and scanning electron microscopy (SEM) are employed to characterize the effect of supports on the physicochemical properties of prepared catalysts. N2 adsorption-desorption and SEM show that TiO2-Zro.5Al0.501.75 expresses uniform nano-particles and large meso-pore diameters of 26 nm. H2-TPR and XRD indicate that PdO is well dispersed on the supports and strongly interacted with each other. The results of XPS show that the electron density around PdO and the proportion of active oxygen on TiO2-Zro.sAl0.501.75 are maxima among the five supports. 展开更多

A new method for nitric oxide(NO)removal was developed by combining dielectric barrier discharge(DBD)and negative pulse corona(NPC).The effects of gas composition(O_(2),CO_(2),and H_(2)O)on NO removal were investigated with this method,and the effect of alcohols(methanol and ethanol)addition on NO removal was also investigated as well as the reaction mechanisms to enhance the NO removal efficiency.The experimental results showed that O_(2),CO_(2),and H_(2)O had obvious inhibition effects on NO removal,and the negative effects were in the following order:O_(2)>CO_(2)>H_(2)O.The addition of methanol or ethanol in the reaction system could mitigate the negative effects of O_(2),CO_(2)and H_(2)O on NO removal,and also eliminated the production of N0_(2).The positive effect of alcohols addition with DBD-NPC denitration method was also validated in the simulated flue gas,in which the NO_(x)(NO,NO_(2))was mainly converted into N_(2). 展开更多

Bubble motions and bubble-wall interactions in stagnant liquid were experimentally investigated by high-speed CCD and PIV technique with the main feature parameters such as E?tv?s numbers Eo = 0.98–1.10, Morton number Mo = 3.21 × 10^(-9)and Reynolds numbers Re = 180 ~ 190. The effect of bubble injecting frequency and the distance S between the gas injection nozzle and the wall on the statistical trajectory of bubbles, average velocity distribution of flow field and Reynolds shear stress were studied in detail. It was shown that the combination of bubble injecting frequency and the distance S caused different bubble motion forms and hydrodynamic characteristics.When the normalized initial distance was very little, like S*≈ 1.2(here S*= 2S/d_e, and deis the bubble equivalent diameter), bubbles ascended in a zigzag trajectory with alternant structure of high and low speed flow field around the bubbles, and the distribution of positive and negative Reynolds shear stress looked like a blob. With the increase of distance S*, bubbles' trajectory would tend to be smooth and straight from the zigzag curve. Meanwhile, with the increase of bubble injecting frequency, the camber of bubble trajectory at 20<y<60 mm had a slight increase due to the inhibitory effect from the vertical wall. Under larger spacing, such as S*≈ 3.6, the low-frequency bubbles gradually moved away from the vertical plane wall in a straight trajectory and the high-frequency bubbles gradually moved close to the vertical wall in a similar straight trajectory after an unstable camber motion. Under the circumstances, high-speed fluid was mainly distributed in the region between the wall and the bubbles, while the relative large Reynolds shear stress mainly existed in the region far away from the wall. 展开更多

The selective catalytic hydrogenation of naphthalene to high-value tetralin was systematically investigated.A series of Al2O3 catalysts containing different active metals(Co,Mo,Ni,W)were prepared by incipient wetness impregnation.The effects of different active metals forms(oxidation,reduction,sulfuration)and reaction conditions on naphthalene hydrogenation were investigated and the catalysts were characterized by XRD,XPS,BET,NH3-TPD and SEM.Especially,Ni-Mo/Al2O3 was first used in this reactive system.The results show that the oxidative4%Ni O-20%MoO3/Al2O3 is the best catalyst for the preparation of tetralin.The conversion of naphthalene and the selectivity of tetralin can reach 95.62%and 99.75%respectively at 200℃,8 h and 6 MPa.Compared with reduced and sulfureted 4%Ni O-20%MoO3/Al2O3 catalysts,oxidative 4%Ni O-20%MoO3/Al2O3 has a well dispersed and uniform monolayer of the active metals,larger pore volume and size,and larger total acidity.NiO-MoO3/Al2O3 has a synergistic effect between NiO activity and MoO3 selectivity. 展开更多
