Continued population growth and limited land availability will facilitate the utilization of plant growth regulators(PGRs)in sustainable agriculture to enhance crop yields.The PGRs industry has progressed significantly from 2003 to 2022,resulting in a surge of research activities in the field of PGRs.However,the existing studies lack the exploration of the industry trends,as well as the challenges and opportunities for innovation in PGR development.Here,we analyze the dynamic trends within the PGR industry by examining key factors such as the PGR market,patent applications,scientific papers,and PGRs registrations from 2003 to 2022.Additionally,we investigate the specific effects of major agrochemicals on plants.These data will provide essential insights into the ongoing evolution and future trends of PGRs.Importantly,it is crucial to actively pursue research and development(R&D)of a broader range of PGRs to respond to the current needs of the PGR market and drive further growth therein. 展开更多

Tungstated zirconia(WO_(3)/ZrO_(2))solid acid catalysts with different WO_(3) contents were prepared by a hydrothermal method and then used in the catalytic aquathermolysis of heavy oil from Xinjiang.The WO_(3)/ZrO_(2) solid acid catalyst was characterized by a range of characterization methods,including X-ray diffraction,NH3-temperature programmed desorption,and pyridine infrared spectroscopy.The WO_(3) content of the WO_(3)/ZrO_(2) catalysts had an important impact on the structure and property of the catalysts.When the WO_(3) mass fraction was 20%,it facilitated the formation of tetragonal zirconia,thereby enhancing the creation of robust acidic sites.Acidity is considered to have a strong impact on the catalytic performance of the aquathermolysis of heavy oil.When the catalyst containing 20%WO_(3) was used to catalyze the aquathermolysis of heavy oil under conditions of 14.5 MPa,340℃,and 24 h,the viscosity of heavy oil decreased from 47266 to 5398 mPa·s and the viscosity reduction rate reached 88.6%.The physicochemical properties of heavy oil before and after the aquathermolysis were analyzed using a saturates,aromatics,resins,and asphaltenes analysis,gas chromatography,elemental analysis,densimeter etc.After the aquathermolysis,the saturate and aromatic contents significantly increased from 43.3%to 48.35%and 19.47%to 21.88%,respectively,with large reductions in the content of resin and asphaltene from 28.22%to 25.06%and 5.36%to 2.03%,respectively.The sulfur and nitrogen contents,and the density of the oil were significantly decreased.These factors were likely the main reasons for promoting the viscosity reduction of heavy oil during the aquathermolysis over the WO_(3)/ZrO_(2) solid acid catalysts. 展开更多

This study investigates the transmission dynamics of conjunctivitis using stochastic delay differential equations(SDDEs).A delayed stochastic model is formulated by dividing the population into five distinct compartments:susceptible,exposed,infected,environmental irritants,and recovered individuals.The model undergoes thorough analytical examination,addressing key dynamical properties including positivity,boundedness,existence,and uniqueness of solutions.Local and global stability around the equilibrium points is studied with respect to the basic reproduction number.The existence of a unique global positive solution for the stochastic delayed model is established.In addition,a stochastic nonstandard finite difference scheme is developed,which is shown to be dynamically consistent and convergent toward the equilibrium states.The scheme preserves the essential qualitative features of the model and demonstrates improved performance when compared to existing numerical methods.Finally,the impact of time delays and stochastic fluctuations on the susceptible and infected populations is analyzed. 展开更多

In the context of convection-heating-based in situ oil shale retorting,fractures serve as primary pathways for fluid migration and product extraction.This study investigates the permeability and microstructural evolution of oil shale during water vapor injection in single-fracture and no-fracture scenarios.Three types of oil shale are investigated:intact oil shale,oil shale with a single straight crack,and oil shale with a single hydraulic crack.With increasing water vapor temperature,the permeabilities of the intact oil shale and oil shale with a fractured crack exhibit a trend of initial increase,followed by a decrease,and then a subsequent increase.However,the permeability of oil shale with a single straight crack consistently increases and exceeds that of oil shale with a fractured crack.The temperaturedependent permeability changes in fractured oil shale-a slight decrease in fracture cracks and a gradual increase in straight cracks-mainly occur in the range of 300℃-350℃.The permeability of oil shale with a straight crack is approximately three times that of oil shale with a fractured crack.This is attributed to the retention of viscous asphaltene and the frictional resistance caused by the rough fracture structure.For the oil shale with a single crack,the crack permeability has a dominant influence on the overall permeability of the rock.The contribution of the permeability of the straight crack exceeds 94.6%,while that of the permeability of the fractured crack is greater than 86.1%.The disparity in the contribution of these two crack structures is evident at 350℃-550℃. 展开更多

The consequence of land-use change from forest to agriculture and other uses has become one of the world’s greatest concerns.The soil,one of the most important components of forests and containing all the required plant nutrients as soluble ions,is highly impacted by these changes.Because vast areas of the Zagros forests in western Iran have changed in use during the last few decades,the present study investigated the effects of landuse changes of forest area to agriculture,orchard,and agroforestry on soil chemical and physical properties.Soil was sampled at four land-use areas:less-disturbed forest areas(control)and agricultural,orchard,and agroforestry areas.Among each of the two forest-use areas(agroforestry and orchard),we selected five trees with similar-sized crowns and sampled under each tree crown at 0-15 and>15-30 cm depths.Five soil samples also were taken in agriculture area at each depth.The findings indicated that during land-use changes,soil sand particles decreased,and clay and silt particles of soil increased,resulting in a fine soil texture.Moreover,the amount of nitrogen(N),phosphorus(P),organic carbon(OC),and electrical conductivity(EC)of soil decreased at both depths due to the decrease in organic matter.Soil pH and magnesium(Mg)level rose during land-use change at both depths except at agricultural sites.Soil potassium(K)content decreased during agricultural use due to the elimination of tree cover.The level of K decreased only at the depth of 0-15 cm because of K dependency on parent materials.Generally,most soil nutrients were affected by plant removal in the conversion.Forest and agricultural soil are distinguishable by their properties,while land-uses such as agroforestry-orchard separated from the others.Soil nutrients were severely affected by the decrease and elimination of tree cover,plowing,and continuous harvesting,resulting in a decline in soil quality and fertility. 展开更多

OBJECTIVE:To reveal the antidepressant mechanisms of Jiawei DanZhiXiaoYaoSan(加味丹栀逍遥散,JD)in chronic unpredictable mild stress(CUMS)-induced depression in mice.METHODS:Using the CUMS mouse model of depression,the antidepressant effects of JD were assessed using the sucrose preference test(SPT),forced swimming test(FST),and tail suspension test(TST).Tandem mass tag(TMT)-based quantitative proteomic analysis of the brain was performed following JD treatment.Hierarchical clustering,Gene Ontology function annotation,Kyoto Encyclopedia of Genes and Genomes(KEGG)pathway enrichment,and protein-protein interactions(PPIs)were used to analyze differentially expressed proteins(DEPs),which were further validated using quantitative real-time polymerase chain reaction(qR T-PCR)and Western blotting.RESULTS:Behavioral tests confirmed the antidepressant effects of JD,and bioinformatics analysis revealed 59 DEPs,including 33 up-regulated and 26 down-regulated proteins,between the CUMS and JD-M groups.KEGG and PPI analyses revealed that neurofilament proteins and the Ras signaling pathway may be key targets of JD in the treatment of depression.q RTPCR and Western blotting results demonstrated that CUMS reduced the protein expression of neurofilament light(NEFL)and medium(NEFM)and inhibited the phosphorylation of extracellular regulated kinase 1/2(ERK1/2),whereas JD promoted the phosphorylation of ERK1/2 and up-regulated the protein expression of NEFL and NEFM.CONCLUSIONS:The antidepressant mechanism of JD may be related to the up-regulation of p-ERK1/2 and neurofilament proteins. 展开更多

Nonalcoholic fatty liver disease(NAFLD)/nonalcoholic steatohepatitis(NASH) is considered to be a hepatic manifestation of metabolic syndrome, and its incidence is rapidly increasing worldwide. It is currently the most common chronic liver disease. NASH can progress to liver cirrhosis and hepatocellular carcinoma, and may result in liver-related death. Currently, the principal treatment for NAFLD/NASH is lifestyle modification by diet and exercise. However, pharmacological therapy is indispensable because obese patients with NAFLD often have difficulty maintaining improved lifestyles. The pathogenesis of NAFLD/NASH has not been completely elucidated. However, insulin resistance, inflammatory cytokines, and oxidative stress are thought to be important in the development and/or progression of the disease. Currently, insulin sensitizers(thiazolidinediones) and antioxidants(vitamin E) seem to be the most promising therapeutic agents for NAFLD/NASH, and lipid-lowering drugs, pentoxifylline, angiotensin receptor blockers, and n-3 polyunsaturated fatty acids also have promise. However, there is a lack of consensus regarding the most effective and appropriate pharmacotherapy for NAFLD/NASH. Animal experiments suggest that herbal medicines and natural products may be promising therapeutic agents for NAFLD/NASH, but their efficacy and safety are yet to be investigated in human studies. In this paper, we review the existing and potential pharmacological therapies for NAFLD/NASH. 展开更多

Depending on the type of transformations considered, different necessary conditions of invariance are obtained. As particular cases, we prove fractional versions of Noether's symmetry theorem. Invariant conditions for fractional optimal control problems, using the Hamiltonian formalism, are also investigated. As an example of potential application in Physics, we show that with conformable derivatives it is possible to formulate an Action Principle for particles under frictional forces that is far simpler than the one obtained with classical fractional derivatives. 展开更多

The study results showed that the aluminum-alginate complex prepared in a cheap and easy way exhibited high catalytic activity, and a 92.6% conversion of methyl oleate was obtained in the presence of 4m% of catalyst dosage upon refluxing for 3h of methanol and acid mixed in a molar ratio of 10:1. It should be noted that the catalyst can be applied to the esterification reaction of fatty acids with various carbon chain length on methanol or different short chain alcohols, indicating that the catalyst is suitable for the preparation of biodiesel from waste oils with a high acid value. 展开更多

This study reports the investigations for repair of thermoplastic based automotive bumpers and bars with modified friction stir welding(MFSW)process.For MFSW,consumable tool of polyamide6(PA6)composite has been used for joining of acrylonitrile butadiene styrene(ABS)composites.The dissimilar thermoplastics were processed for maintaining a useful range of melt flow properties followed by preparation of feed stock filament for fused deposition modeling(FDM)process through screw extrusion.Finally,3D printed PA6 based consumable rapid tool(RT)was prepared for MFSW.The joints prepared were subjected to flexural,hardness,morphological and thermal testing.The study has suggested the that maximum mechanical strength was obtained for sample welded at 1400 r/min,50 mm/min transverse speed and 3 mm plunge depth,whereas the minimum mechanical strength was obtained for sample welded at 1000 r/min,30 mm/min transverse speed and 2 mm plunge depth.The results are also supported with thermal analysis and photomicrographs. 展开更多

The flowers of C... Background: Ketoconazole (KET), an antifungal drug, has adverse effects on the male reproductive system. Pre-treatments with antioxidant plant against testicular damage induced by KET are required. The flowers of Clitoria tematea (CT) are proven to have hepatoprotective potential. However, the protective effect on KET-induced testicular damage has not been reported. Objective: To investigate the protective effect of CT flower extracts with antioxidant activity on male reproductive parameters including sperm concentration, serum testosterone level, histopathology of the testis, and testicular tyrosine phosphorylation levels in rats induced with KET. Methods: The antioxidant activity of CT flower extracts was determined using 2,2-diphenyl-1-picrylhydrazyl (DPPH) and ferric reducing antioxidant power (FRAP) assays. Male rats were treated with CT flower extracts (10, 50, or 100 mg/kg BW) or distilled water via a gastric tube for 28 d (preventive period: Days 1-21) and induced by KET (100 mg/kg BW) via intraperitoneal injection for 7 d (induction period: Days 22-28). After the experiment, all animals were examined for the weights of the testis, epididymis plus vas deferens and seminal vesicle, serum testosterone levels, sperm concentration, histological structures and diameter of testis, and testicular tyrosine phosphorylation levels by immunoblotting. Results: The CT flower extracts had capabilities for DPPH scavenging and high reducing power. At 100 mg/kg BW, the extract had no toxic effects on the male reproductive system. Significantly, in CT+KET groups, CT flower extracts (50 and 100 mg/kg BW) alleviated the reduction of reproductive organ weight parameters, testosterone levels, and sperm concentration. In addition, CT flower extracts gave protection from testicular damage in KET-induced rats. Moreover, in the CT100+KET group, CT flower extracts significantly enhanced the expression of a testicular 50-kDa tyrosine phosphorylated protein compared with that of other groups. Conclusions: C. ternatea flower extracts possessing antioxidant activity are not harmful to the male reproductive system and can protect against testicular damage in KET-induced rats. 展开更多

Nonlinear delay Caputo fractional differential equations with non-instantaneous impulses are studied and we consider the general case of delay,depending on both the time and the state variable.The case when the lower limit of the Caputo fractional derivative is fixed at the initial time,and the case when the lower limit of the fractional derivative is changed at the end of each interval of action of the impulse are studied.Practical stability properties,based on the modified Razumikhin method are investigated.Several examples are given in this paper to illustrate the results. 展开更多

A series of structurally novel 1,3,4-oxadiazole thioether derivatives(6a-6z) containing a 6-fluoroquinazolinylpiperidinyl moiety were designed and synthesized using pharmacophore hybrid approach,and their structures were fully characterized by ^1H NMR,^(13)C NMR and HRMS spectra.Among them,the structure of compound 6 d was further corroborated via single-crystal X-ray diffraction analysis.In vitro antibacterial bioassays showed that compounds 6 a,6 g,6 u and 6 v possessed EC_(50) values of 30.4,30.6,27.5 and 26.0 μg/mL against phytopathogenic bacterium Xanthomonas oryzae pv.oryzae,respectively,which were significantly superior to that of commercially-available bactericide Bismerthiazol(85.1 μg/mL).Moreover,in vitro antifungal bioassays indicated that seven compounds demonstrated broad-spectrum fungicidal acitivties against six types of phytopathogenic fungi at 50 μg/mL.The present work showed the potential of 1,3,4-oxadiazole thioether derivatives carrying a 6-fluoroquinazolinylpiperidinyl moiety as effective antimicrobial agents for crop protection,deserving further investigations in the future. 展开更多

Potential Areas for Managed Aquifer Recharge in the Eastern Lower Jordan Valley Area

The article deals with the feasibility of using the recent geological formations in the eastern Jordan Valley for water storage through artificial recharge due to water scarcity and water needs in this area. Water storage in surface reservoirs in arid and semi-arid areas is afflicted with a variety of issues such as high evaporation, eutrophication processes and exposure to contamination and accidents. Dams to capture all rare-event floods are, generally, big and expensive structures. Artificially recharging aquifers and storing the water in the underground offer a competing alternative. In this study, hydrogeological, geological, geophysical and hydrochemical investigations were carried out to study the potentials of the eastern side of the Lower Jordan Valley for artificial recharge. The results reveal that relatively extended areas on the eastern side of the Lower Jordan Valley have the potential to accommodate large amounts of recharge water and that the impacts of artificially storing the water in aquifers are to be judged very positive compared to surface storage, especially when the amounts of available recharge water can quantitatively be accommodated in recharge facilities. In addition, the study shows, the advantages of underground water storage compared to surface storage in dams. The potential storage capacities in the different parts of the Lower Jordan Valley are quantified based on rechargeable aquifer volumes and porosities. The potential uses of the recharged water are also elaborated on depending on recharge and aquifer water qualities. 展开更多

The present study reports investigations on rheological,mechanical,thermal,tribological and morphological properties of feedstock filaments prepared with polylactic acid-polyether ketone ketone-hydroxyapatite-chitosan(PLA-PEKK-HAp-CS)composite for 3D printing of functional prototypes.The study consists of a series of melt processing operations on melt flow index(MFI)setup as per ASTM D-1238 for melt flow certainty followed by fixation of reinforcement composition/proportion as 94%PEKK-4%HAp-2%CS(B)by mass in PLA matrix(A).The blending of reinforcement and preparation of feedstock filament for fused deposition modeling(FDM)set up has been performed on commercial twin screw extruder(TSE).The results of study suggest that feedstock filaments prepared with blend of 95%A-5%B(by mass)at 200℃processing temperature and 100 r/min rotational speed on TSE resulted into better tensile properties(35.9 MPa peak strength and 32.3 MPa break strength)with 6.24%surface porosity,42.67 nm surface roughness(R_(a))and acceptable heat capacity(2.14 J/g).However as regards to tribological behavior,the minimum wear of 316μm was observed for sample with poor tensile properties.As regards to crash application for scaffolds the maximum toughness of 1.16 MPa was observed for 85%A-15%B(by mass)at 200℃processing temperature and 150 r/min rotational speed on TSE. 展开更多
