Facing the increasing trend of cancer incidence and mortality, China issued and implemented "three-early(early prevention, early diagnosis and early treatment)" national cancer prevention plan. As the main body and dependence of social governance, non-governmental organizations(NGOs) take over the role of government in the field of cancer prevention and treatment. American Cancer Society(ACS) made a research on cancer NGOs and civil society in cancer control and found that cancer NGOs in developing countries mobilize civil society to work together and advocate governments in their countries to develop policies to address the growing cancer burden. Union for International Cancer Control(UICC), Cancer Council Australia(CCA), and Malaysian cancer NGOs are the representatives of cancer NGOs in promoting cancer control. Selecting Chinese Anti-Cancer Association(CACA) as an example in China, this article is to investigate how NGOs undertake systematic cancer prevention work in China. By conducting real case study, we found that, as a NGO, CACA plays a significant role in intensifying the leading role of government in cancer control, optimizing cancer outcomes, decreasing cancer incidence and mortality rates and improving public health.展开更多

Thefinal survey questionnaire consisted of 41 questions divided in 8 categories: (1)Subject screener;(2) Smoking history;(3) Background information;(4) IBD diseasebackground;(5) Current disease status;(6) Current therapeutics and medications;and (7) Current nicotine/cigarettes use and awareness of the impacts of smokingon IBD. The questionnaire was submitted online from 4th November 2019 to 11th March 2020 through the European Federation of Crohn's and Ulcerative ColitisAssociations website to IBD patients who were current smokers or had a historyof smoking.RESULTSIn total 1050 IBD patients speaking nine languages participated to the survey.Among them, 807 (76.9%) patients declared to have ever smoked or consumed analternative smoking product, with a higher proportion of current cigarettesmokers among CD patients (CD: 63.1% vs UC: 54.1%, P = 0.012). About twothirdsof the participants declared to have ever stopped cigarette smoking andrestarted (67.0%), with a significantly higher proportion among UC patientscompared to CD patients (73.1% vs 62.0%, P = 0.001). We also found significantdifferences between CD and UC patients in the awareness of the healthconsequences of smoking in their disease and in the perceived impact of smokingon disease activity, for both cigarettes and alternative smoking products.CONCLUSIONThis survey found significant differences between CD and UC patients in bothawareness and perception of the impact of smoking on their disease. Furtherefforts should be done to encourage smoking cessation for all IBD patients, including UC patients.展开更多

We here report 10 women who got pregnant under this condition, with special reference to etiologies and pregnancy outcomes. Methodology: We analyzed all women who got pregnant under Cu-IUD at ATBEF Main Clinic from July 1, 2015 to June 30, 2020. Results: We retrieved 10 patients. The durations of Cu-IUD use were 3 months to 6 years. The etiologies were poor insertion;migration and spontaneous expulsion. The occurrence of pregnancy was poorly accepted by the women: 20% of women considered it was due to the providers’ incompetence. Of the 10 pregnancies, 5 women had given vaginal birth spontaneously;2 induced abortions, 2 spontaneous abortions and 1 ectopic pregnancy. The contraceptive method adopted after pregnancy was jadelle implants in 8 cases and spousal vasectomy in 2 cases. Conclusion: The prevention of IUD pregnancies may require adequate insertion time, insertion technique and follow-up.展开更多

文摘Aims: Although the copper intrauterine device (Cu-IUD) is an effective contraceptive device, cases of pregnancy under the Cu-IUD have been reported. Conclusion: The prevention of IUD pregnancies may require adequate insertion time, insertion technique and follow-up.
