Justification comes through the following points.According to Marxism, correct theoretical guidance serves as the prerequisite for correct practice. Marxist philosophy embodies,by nature, righteousness,in opposition to political hegemony.Accordingly, practice under its guidance represents fruitful revolutionary realism. Finally, advanced studies of international relations in this country cannot be separated from philosophical thinking. Using these arguments as background, this article specifically advocates materialism, patriotism, and service to the people as the corner-stone of China's IR theory building.展开更多

By contrast, Chinese aid is, in essence, cooperation and mutual support between developing countries. This fundamental difference helps to explain why Beiiin's aid is so different from that of the Western donors.展开更多

These are issues which have existed for decades in the U.S.,but now it seems that President Obama has a better opportunity to make a'real change'happen than his predecessors, because American society is going through a fundamental evolution.展开更多

Transcending Western traditional value and logic of thinking, such as the supremacy of international interests and power control,Sino-African relations have created a new model in international relations, featuring equality, peaceful coexistence and friendly cooperation. This promotes African development and the democratization process in both international relations and the global community. From China's perspective,it spreads China's idea of harmonious culture and harmonious diplomacy, thus promoting world peace and development, and contributing towards building a harmonious world.展开更多

In December 2003, the EU adopted its first European Security Strategy (ESS). Ever since then, the implementation of the ESS has been regarded as one of the biggest challenges for the EU in CFSP/ESDP matters. Although much progress has been made in its independent security and defence-building process, EU still faces serious problems and difficulties in this policy area. This paper tries to examine these recent developments, assess their impacts in regional-global security, and analyze existing problems and future trends. Finally, the author also examines EU-China engagements in recent years and explores possibilities for their future cooperation in the area of international security.展开更多

The notion varies in meaning from one country to another, due to their differences in security environment, cognition and defense capabilities. It took quite a long time for China to form its own definition in an overall, profound manner, with controversy still lingering among divergent interest groups and/or schools of thought. As the author sees it, formidable internal and external challenges threaten the country in this regard. We should maintain awareness of the risks from monopoly-driven mergers and acquisitions of foreign capital in a growing number of our industries.展开更多

On the one hand, while imbalances in petroleum market supply-demand have been alleviated, the consuming states are now focusing on demand side management and development of new and renewable energy. There has been great progress in international energy security dialogue and cooperation. On the other hand, supply-demand market balance remains fragile , and restrictions due to insufficient energy investment are more evident. The concerned states have taken a stronger grip over their own resources. Implementation of energy diplomacy has also further complicated the relationship between energy and geo-politics, causing an upsurge of competition.展开更多
