The sample galaxies are classified into five morphological types, and more than 40% of the galaxies are peculiar/compact galaxies. The peculiar galaxies show higher far- infrared/submillimeter luminosity-to-mass ratios than the other types. We perform and analyze the correlations of far-infrared/submillimeter and Hα luminosities for differ- ent morphological types and different spectral types. The Spearman rank coefficient decreases and the scatter increases with the wavelength increasing from 100 μm to 500 μm. We conclude that a single Herschel SPIRE band is not good for tracing star formation activities in galaxies. AGNs contribute less to the far-infrared/submillimeter luminosities and do not show a difference from star-forming galaxies. However, the earlier type galaxies present significant deviations from the best fit of star-forming galaxies.展开更多

Here, we developed an innovative heterogeneous interface engineering strategy to boost the electrocatalytic performance of overall water splitting. This approach involves the synergistic integration of ultra‐fine CoMoP nanocrystals coupled with three‐ dimensional (3D) porous C3N4/N‐doped carbon (NC) architectures, constructing a distinctive CoMoP/C3N4/NC heterogeneous interface. The CoMoP/C3N4/NC exhibits distinguished overall water splitting performance. To drive the overall water splitting current of 10 mA cm−2, the CoMoP/C3N4/NC||CoMoP/C3N4/NC electrolysis cell only needs an ultralow cell voltage of 1.496 V. The electronic properties and localized coordination environments characterizations, and density functional theory (DFT) calculations elucidate that the improved catalytic activities of CoMoP/C3N4/NC are primarily attributed to the synergistic interfacial coupling between CoMoP/C3N4/NC heterogeneous interface. A novel multi‐site synergistic catalytic mechanism was revealed by the DFT calculations, in which the optimum H* adsorption site on CoMoP/C3N4/NC for HER is on the cobalt atoms in CoMoP with the ultralow Gibbs free energy of hydrogen bonding (ΔGH*) of 0.018 eV, while for the OER, the optimum intermediates adsorption site of the CoMoP/C3N4/NC is on the carbon atoms in C3N4/NC. Besides, the intricately engineered 3D hierarchical porous framework of the CoMoP/C3N4/NC can facilitate the ion and electron transport and improve mass transfer, which gives rise to enhanced water splitting performance.展开更多

文摘Polyethylene oxide(PEO)-based solid polymer electrolytes(SPEs)have long faced limitations due to low ionic conductivity at ambient temperature and poor interfacial stability with lithium metal anodes. Here,we present a structural engineering strategy to address these challenges through shear-induced crystallization of concentrated PEO-LiTFSI solutions, which self-assemble into flower-like spherulites with radially aligned lamellar crystals. This unique structure creates continuous Li^(+)transport highways through densely packed crystalline domains, achieving a record-high ionic conductivity of 1.70×10^(-4) S/cm at 25℃ for pristine PEO-based systems.Strategic incorporation of lithium montmorillonite(MMTli,10 wt%)further optimizes the composite electrolyte, balancing high ionic conductivity(1.47×10^(-4) S/cm)with enhanced electrochemical stability(4.99 V vs.Li^(+)/Li),elevated Li^(+)transference number(0.62),and mechanical robustness. The composite electrolyte enables stable Li plating/stripping over 800 h in symmetric Li||Li cells and powers LiFePO_(4)||Li solid-state batteries with 82%capacity retention after 200 cycles at 0.2 C under ambient conditions. This work pioneers a scalable processing paradigm for crystalline polymer electrolytes, offering new insights into ion transport mechanisms and validating clay minerals as multifunctional additives for next-generation energy storage systems.

文摘Using the Herschel ATLAS science demonstration phase data cross- identified with SDSS DR7 spectra, we select 297 galaxies with F250μm 〉 5σ. However, the earlier type galaxies present significant deviations from the best fit of star-forming galaxies.

文摘A nonlinear multi-scale interaction(NMI)model was proposed and developed by the first author for nearly 30 years to represent the evolution of atmospheric blocking. In this review paper,we first review the creation and development of the NMI model and then emphasize that the NMI model represents a new tool for identifying the basic physics of how climate change influences mid-to-high latitude weather extremes. The building of the NMI model took place over three main periods. In the 1990s,a nonlinear Schr?dinger(NLS)equation model was presented to describe atmospheric blocking as a wave packet;however,it could not depict the lifetime(10-20 days)of atmospheric blocking. In the 2000s,we proposed an NMI model of atmospheric blocking in a uniform basic flow by making a scale-separation assumption and deriving an eddyforced NLS equation. This model succeeded in describing the life cycle of atmospheric blocking. In the 2020s,the NMI model was extended to include the impact of a changing climate mainly by altering the basic zonal winds and the magnitude of the meridional background potential vorticity gradient(PVy).Model results show that when PVy is smaller, blocking has a weaker dispersion and a stronger nonlinearity,so blocking can be more persistent and have a larger zonal scale and weaker eastward movement, thus favoring stronger weather extremes. However, when PVy is much smaller and below a critical threshold under much stronger winter Arctic warming of global warming, atmospheric blocking becomes locally less persistent and shows a much stronger westward movement, which acts to inhibit local cold extremes.Such a case does not happen in summer under global warming because PVy fails to fall below the critical threshold. Thus, our theory indicates that global warming can render summer-blocking anticyclones and mid-to-high latitude heatwaves more persistent, intense, and widespread.
文摘This study investigates the mineralogy and mineral-chemistry of a newly discovered Au-Ag-Bi-Te mineralization at the Aydindere Fe-Cu skarn deposit, within the Pontides Tectonic Unit, northeastern Turkey. The mineralization is developed in the skarn zone at the contact between Upper Cretaceous andesite-pyroclastic rocks and a Paleocene–Eocene I-type granitoid. The principal ore minerals of the Aydindere Fe-Cu deposit are oxides(magnetite),sulfides(pyrite-chalcopyritegalena-sphalerite),tellurides/sulfotellurides(tetradymite,hessite),sulfosalts(wittichenite,emplectite,aikinite) and native gold-electrum.Skarn minerals include anhydrous phases(garnet) formed in a prograde stage and hydrous phases(amphibole, epidote, chlorite),which were formed in a retrograde stage in association with quartz, adularia, apatite and late calcite.Sulfides, tellurides and sulfosalts are introduced during the retrograde stage. The Au-Ag-Bi-Te mineralization was detected for the first time within the western ore body of the Aydindere deposit, and occurs in calcite-bearing sulfide bodies that cut magnetite-garnet-amphibole-epidote skarns with magnetite ores of different grade, including massive magnetite.Chlorite geothermometry indicates formation of the Au-Ag-BiTe mineralization at temperatures between 300 and 250 ℃,during the retrograde skarn evolution.Assuming the temperature is ~275 ℃,logfS_(2) =-10.5 to-13,logfO_(2) =-37 to-33,and logf Te2 values range from approximately-12 to-8.5 were estimated. The available mineralogical and geological data(presences of magnetite,oxidized-type tellurides/sulfotellurides,and andraditic garnets, and absence of pyrrhotite and arsenopyrite) suggest that Aydindere is an oxidized Au-bearing skarn deposit. The discovery of Au-Ag-Bi-Te mineralization at Aydindere increases its productivity and requires more detailed exploration in the deposit for precious(Au,Ag) and critical(Bi,Te) metals.

文摘Arsenic(As)pollution seriously threatens human and ecological health.Microalgal cell wall and extracellular polymeric substances(EPS)are known to interactwith As,but their roles in the As resistance, accumulation and speciation inmicroalgae remain unclear. Here,we used two strains of Chlamydomonas reinhardtii, namely CC-125(wild type)and CC-503(cell walldeficientmutant),to examine the algal growth,EPS synthesis,As adsorption, absorption and transformation under 10–1000μg/L As(III)and As(V)treatments for 96 h.In both strains, the As absorption increased after the EPS removal, but the growth,As adsorption, and transformation of C.reinhardtii declined. The CC-125 strain was more tolerant to As stress and more efficient in EPS production,As accumulation, and redox transformation than CC-503,irrespective of EPS presence or absence.Three-dimension excitation-emission matrix(3DEEM)and attenuated total reflectance infrared spectroscopy(ATR-IR)analyses showed that As was bound with functional groups in the EPS and cell wall, such as-COOH,NH and-OH in proteins, polysaccharides and amino acids.Together, this study demonstrated that EPS and cell wall acted as barriers to lower the As uptake by C.reinhardtii.However,the cell wall mutant strain wasmore susceptible to As toxicity due to lower EPS induction and higher As absorption.

文摘The design of efficient and cost‐effective bifunctional catalysts, which are capable of driving both the hydrogen evolution reaction (HER) and oxygen evolution reaction (OER), is of paramount importance for advancing overall water splitting. Besides, the intricately engineered 3D hierarchical porous framework of the CoMoP/C3N4/NC can facilitate the ion and electron transport and improve mass transfer, which gives rise to enhanced water splitting performance.

文摘In recent decades, capacitive pressure sensors(CPSs)with high sensitivity have demonstrated significant potential in applications such as medical monitoring, artificial intelligence, and soft robotics.Efforts to enhance this sensitivity have predominantly focused on material design and structural optimization, with surface microstructures such as wrinkles, pyramids, and micro-pillars proving effective.Although finite element modeling(FEM)has guided enhancements in CPS sensitivity across various surface designs,a theoretical understanding of sensitivity improvements remains underexplored. This paper employs sinusoidal wavy surfaces as a representative model to analytically elucidate the underlying mechanisms of sensitivity enhancement through contact mechanics. These theoretical insights are corroborated by FEM and experimental validations. Our findings underscore that optimizing material properties, such as Young’s modulus and relative permittivity, alongside adjustments in surface roughness and substrate thickness, can significantly elevate the sensitivity. The optimal performance is achieved when the amplitude-to-wavelength ratio(H/)is about 0.2.These results offer critical insights for designing ultrasensitive CPS devices, paving the way for advancements in sensor technology.

文摘Tibetan turnip and oilseeds are the most important vegetables cultivated in the Qinghai-Tibet Plateau. Our field observations identified a dominant early-bolting phenotype at the vegetative growth stage in the Tibetan turnip, which was possibly due to cross-pollination contamination from nearby oilseeds. We performed genetic and molecular experiments to explore the main reason for early bolting. We first analyzed gene expression and genomic sequence variation of turnip and oilseed BraFLC2,a gene that acts as a key repressor of flowering in turnip in a dosage-dependent manner. We found that the differences in flowering time and life habits between turnip and oilseeds were closely correlated with the genetic variations in BraFLC2.We further identified that the early-bolting turnip was the hybrid between turnip and oilseeds by selecting BraFLC2 as a testing gene.Furthermore, using an artificial hybridization experiment,we found that the heterozygote and low levels of BraFLC2 expression promoted early bolting in hybrid plants. These findings indicate that early-bolting in turnip is caused by cross-pollination contamination from oilseeds under human agricultural activities. We propose a strategy of strict seed screening, cultivation isolation and turnip breeding to ensure high quality and yield.
