It usually accompanies the appearance of a firm breast that can progress to pain, distortion, and asymmetry of the breasts, requiring surgical revision. The present study is a case report. A 58-year-old woman with a medical diagnosis of capsular contracture of the right breast evidenced by ultrasound. She was referred to the physiotherapy clinic in October 2019 with an initial complaint of pain on palpation, swelling, and stiffness in her right breast. In this paper,a frictional contact problem between an electro-elastic body and an electrically conductive foundation is studied.The contact is modeled by normal compliance with finite penetration and a version of Coul...In this paper,a frictional contact problem between an electro-elastic body and an electrically conductive foundation is studied.The contact is modeled by normal compliance with finite penetration and a version of Coulomb’s law of dry friction in which the coefficient of friction depends on the slip.In addition,the effects of the electrical conductivity of the foundation are taken into account.This model leads to a coupled system of the quasi-variational inequality of the elliptic type for the displacement and the nonlinear variational equation for the electric potential.The existence of a weak solution is proved by using an abstract result for elliptic variational inequalities and a fixed point argument.Then,a finite element approximation of the problem is presented.Under some regularity conditions,an optimal order error estimate of the approximate solution is derived.Finally,a successive iteration technique is used to solve the problem numerically and a convergence result is established.展开更多

This study compares the summer atmospheric water cycle,including moisture sources and consumption,in the upstream,midstream,and downstream regions of the Yarlung Zangbo River Basin in the southern Tibetan Plateau.The ...This study compares the summer atmospheric water cycle,including moisture sources and consumption,in the upstream,midstream,and downstream regions of the Yarlung Zangbo River Basin in the southern Tibetan Plateau.The evolutions of moisture properties under the influence of the westerly and summer southerly monsoon are examined using 5-yr multi-source measurements and ERA5 reanalysis data.Note that moisture consumption in this study is associated with clouds,precipitation,and diabatic heating.Compared to the midstream and downstream regions,the upstream region has less moisture,clouds,and precipitation,where the moisture is brought by the westerly.In early August,the vertical wet advection over this region becomes enhanced and generates more high clouds and precipitation.The midstream region has moisture carried by the westerly in June and by the southerly monsoon from July to August.The higher vertical wet advection maximum here forms more high clouds,with a precipitation peak in early July.The downstream region is mainly affected by the southerly-driven wet advection.The rich moisture and strong vertical wet advection here produce the most clouds and precipitation among the three regions,with a precipitation peak in late June.The height of the maximum moisture condensation is different between the midstream region(325 hPa)and the other two regions(375 hPa),due to the higher upward motion maximum in the midstream region.The diabatic heating structures show that stratiform clouds dominate the upstream region,stratiform clouds and deep convection co-exist in the midstream region,and deep convection systems characterize the downstream region.展开更多
Sudanese folk medicine represents a unique blend of indigenous cultures with Islamic,Arabic and African traditions.In addition,Sudan encompasses different terrains and climatic zones,ranging from desert and semi-deser...Sudanese folk medicine represents a unique blend of indigenous cultures with Islamic,Arabic and African traditions.In addition,Sudan encompasses different terrains and climatic zones,ranging from desert and semi-desert in the north to equatorial with a short rainy season(semi-aridand semi-humid)in the centre to equatorial with a long rainy season(arid-humid and equatorial-humid)in the south.This variation contributes to the immense diversity of vegetation in the region.The flora of Sudan consists of 3137 species of flowering plants belonging to 170 families and 1280 genera.It is estimated that 15%of these plants are endemic to Sudan.The intersection of diverse cultures and the unique geography holds great potential for Sudanese herbal medicine.Medicinal and aromatic plants and their derivatives represent an integral part of life in Sudan.Indigenous remedies are the only form of therapy available to the majority of poor people.It has been estimated that only 11%of the population has access to formal health care.Therefore,research on the desired pharmacological effects and possible unwanted side effects or toxicity is required to improve efficacy and safety of Sudanese herbal medicine.In the future,it would be preferable to promote the use of traditional herbal remedies by conversion of raw plant material into more sophisticated products instead of completely replacing the traditional remedies with synthetic products from industrialized countries.The present review gives an overview of traditional Sudanese medicinal and aromatic herbs and their habitats,traditional uses,and phytochemical constituents.展开更多

BA cases were identified from the Taiwan...AIM: To describe the ages at diagnosis and operation of biliary atresia(BA) and its incidence over a 15-year period in Taiwan.METHODS: This was a population-based cohort study. BA cases were identified from the Taiwan National Health Insurance Research Database based on the International Classification of Diseases,Ninth Revision(ICD-9) code of BA 751.61 plus Kasai operation(ICD-9 procedure code 51.37) or liver transplantation(LT,ICD-9 procedure code 50.5). The patients' characteristics including sex,age at diagnosis,age at receiving Kasai operation and age at receiving LT were compared among three birth cohorts:(1) 1997 to 2001;(2) 2002 to 2006; and(3) 2007 to 2011.RESULTS: There were a total of 540 BA cases(275 females) with an incidence of 1.62 per 10000 live births. No seasonality of BA was noted. The mean ages at diagnosis of three cohorts were 57.9,55.6 and 52.6 d.A linear regression model demonstrated a decreasing trend of the mean age at diagnosis(1.27 d per year). The proportion of BA cases that received the Kasai operation within 60 d of age increased from 76% to 81%. A total of 189(35%) BA patients underwent LT. The mean age at LT was reduced from 3-year-old to 1-year-old. The rates of LT were 25.6% and 32.3% in patients who received the Kasai operation within 60 d or after 60 d of age,respectively. All patients who did not undergo a Kasai operation eventually required LT.CONCLUSION: The ages at diagnosis and operation in BA cases have decreased over time. Kasai operation performed at younger age reduces the need for LT. The incidence of BA in Taiwan fluctuates,but without certain trend.展开更多

As one of the promising configurations of the next generation of commercial aircraft,research on departure characteristics of the Blended-Wing-Body(BWB)is of great signification to safe flight limits.A three-degree-of...As one of the promising configurations of the next generation of commercial aircraft,research on departure characteristics of the Blended-Wing-Body(BWB)is of great signification to safe flight limits.A three-degree-of-freedom(3-DOF)virtual flight test in a wind tunnel has been implemented for a candidate configuration to predict the departure characteristics.The support mechanism,the test model and the control law of the virtual flight test are introduced.In order to show the relationship between virtual flight test and actual flight test,the similarity criterion is also given.In open loop,the model has mild oscillations in the longitudinal and lateral directions,which are stable in closed-loop.The effect of flight control has been verified in virtual flight and actual subscale flight test.The analysis of system identification results indicate that the model has a good response to the excitation signal,and the response is in reasonable agreement with the flight test.Finally,the virtual flight departure test results are compared with the flight test.It shows that there is a good correspondence between the angle of attack and the elevator deflection at departure.This gives promising evidence of the practicability of virtual flight testing to predict departure of a BWB.展开更多

文摘As one of the promising configurations of the next generation of commercial aircraft,research on departure characteristics of the Blended-Wing-Body(BWB)is of great signification to safe flight limits.A three-degree-of-freedom(3-DOF)virtual flight test in a wind tunnel has been implemented for a candidate configuration to predict the departure characteristics.The support mechanism,the test model and the control law of the virtual flight test are introduced.In order to show the relationship between virtual flight test and actual flight test,the similarity criterion is also given.In open loop,the model has mild oscillations in the longitudinal and lateral directions,which are stable in closed-loop.The effect of flight control has been verified in virtual flight and actual subscale flight test.The analysis of system identification results indicate that the model has a good response to the excitation signal,and the response is in reasonable agreement with the flight test.Finally,the virtual flight departure test results are compared with the flight test.It shows that there is a good correspondence between the angle of attack and the elevator deflection at departure.This gives promising evidence of the practicability of virtual flight testing to predict departure of a BWB.
