During the sizing process,yarn congestion fault occurs at the reed teeth of a sizing machine.At present,the yarn congestion fault is generally handled by manual detection.The sizing production line operates on a large...During the sizing process,yarn congestion fault occurs at the reed teeth of a sizing machine.At present,the yarn congestion fault is generally handled by manual detection.The sizing production line operates on a large scale and runs continuously.Untimely handling of the yarn congestion fault causes a large amount of yarn waste.In this research,a machine vision-based algorithm for yarn congestion fault detection is developed.Through the analysis of the congestion fault and interference contour characteristics,the basic idea of image phase subtraction to identify the congestion fault is determined.To address the interference information appearing after image phase subtraction,the image pre-processing methods of Canny edge extraction and mean filtering are employed.According to the fault size and location characteristics,the fault contour detection algorithm based on inter-frame difference is designed.To mitigate the camera vibration interference,the anti-vibration interference algorithm based on affine transformation is studied,and the fault detection algorithm for the total yarn congestion fault is determined.The detection of 20 sets of field data is carried out,and the detection rate reaches 90%.This fault detection algorithm realizes the automatic detection of yarn congestion fault of sizing machine with certain real-time performance and accuracy.展开更多
Yarn-based flexible strain sensors with advantages in wearability and integrability have attracted wide at-tention.However,it is still a big challenge to achieve yarn-based strain sensors with a wide linear strain ran...Yarn-based flexible strain sensors with advantages in wearability and integrability have attracted wide at-tention.However,it is still a big challenge to achieve yarn-based strain sensors with a wide linear strain range,low hysteresis,and durability synchronously that can be used for full range detection of human body motions.Herein,a new structure,double-threaded conductive yarn with rhythmic strain distribu-tion,is reported to markedly widen the linear strain range of microcrack-based stretchable strain sensors.A new method of winding and thermally adhering hot-melt filaments on the surface of the elastic fiber is used to achieve double-threaded yarn(DTY)with rhythmic strain distribution.The proposed strategy,the integration of heterogeneous materials,is reported to significantly reduce the mechanical hysteresis of composite yarns.Rhythmic strain distribution of the DTY during stretching causes multi-level micro-cracks in different regions of the carbon nanotube(CNT)conductive layer deposited on the surface of the DTY.Besides,the sensing performance of DTY-based strain sensor can be adjusted by designing the structural parameters.The final prepared flexible strain sensor has the advantages of a wide linear strain range(100%),great sensitivity(GF=12.43),low hysteresis,rapid response(158 ms),high repeatability(>2000 cycles at 50%strain),and hydrophobicity,etc.The sensor can monitor human motion repeatedly and stably well,and shows great advantages in flexible wearable devices.展开更多
The increasing demand for sustainable and environmentally friendly materials has driven research towards the development of green composites.In this work,the flax/polylactic acid(PLA)braided yarns were fabricated by b...The increasing demand for sustainable and environmentally friendly materials has driven research towards the development of green composites.In this work,the flax/polylactic acid(PLA)braided yarns were fabricated by braiding PLA filaments with 4 to 24 spindles on flax yarns.After curing at different temperatures(180℃and 190℃),the core/sheath structural flax/PLA composite yarns were manufactured.According to the results of the tensile test,the flax/PLA composite yarn with 4-spindle PLA yarns as a sheath layer and at a curing temperature of 180℃reached the maximum elastic modulus of about(5.79±0.65)GPa and the maximum tensile strength of about(162.17±18.18)MPa.This flax/PLA composite yarn with good mechanical properties would be suitable for green composites in the automobile manufacturing industry and building materials.展开更多
Automatic splicing of interrupted yarns in ring spinning has always been a problem in the industry.Factors such as low yarn strengths and environmental influence on yarn tensions make it difficult to control the yarn ...Automatic splicing of interrupted yarns in ring spinning has always been a problem in the industry.Factors such as low yarn strengths and environmental influence on yarn tensions make it difficult to control the yarn tension during the robotic splicing process.The purpose of this research is to design active disturbance rejection control(ADRC)for a third-order nonlinear tension system subject to external disturbances.Firstly,a third-order extended state observer(ESO)is designed to achieve the suppression and the compensation of the internal modeling error and the external disturbances of the system.Secondly,the adaptive gain error feedback control and the filtering process are designed to reduce the influence of sensor noise on the disturbance observation.Finally,the tension control during the splicing process is simulated and experimented,and the experiments show that the method has good robustness in the tension tracking task under a dynamic environment,which verifies the effectiveness of the method.展开更多
