By increasing the partial pr...Based on thermodynamic calculations, the effect of pressure and alloying elements on the nitrogen content, solidification mode, and welding characteristics were investigated in this study. By increasing the partial pressure of N_2, the nitrogen content in the weld pool increased dramatically, and the γ zone was enlarged. The nitrogen content increased as alloying elements such as Cr and Mn were added to the molten steel. The δ zone with high temperature treatment was compressed by adding Ni. These alloying elements play important roles in the formation of the single γ region at the temperature of 298 K. With proper Mn addition, the phase area of γ was extended and became more stable, and the "ferrite trap" was also avoided. Two kinds of welding wires with different nitrogen contents were developed and corresponding MIG welding experiments were performed. As the nitrogen content in wire was higher than that in the base metal, severe blowhole defects and mixture microstructure of δ and γ developed.展开更多

This paper calculates different load parameters and discusses factors influencing the driving current curve. With appropriate driving current curves chosen, further magneto-hydrodynamic calculations are carried out and discussed to provide the best results for experiments. The traditional design of PWWF is complicated, highly iterative and cost uncontrolable, because PWWF is a variable stiffness multi-agent structure, with non-linear loading and deformation coordination. In this paper, cost optimization method of large-scale PWWF by multiple-island genetic algorithm (MIGA) is presented. Optimization design flow and optimization model are proposed based on variable-tension wire winding theory. An example of the PWWF cost optimization of isostatic equipment with axial load 6 000 kN is given. The optimization cost is reduced by 21.6% compared with traditional design. It has also been verified by the finite-element analysis and successfully applied to an actual PWWF design of isostatic press. The results show that this method is efficient and reliable. This method can also provide a guide for optimal design for ultra-large dimension muti-frame structure of 546 MN and 907 MN isostatic press equipment.展开更多
Based on the advanced integrated technology of materials preparation and formation, a new pattern Zn-Al-Mg-RE anti-corrosion coating for steel structure sustainable design was manufactured by cored wires and high velo...Based on the advanced integrated technology of materials preparation and formation, a new pattern Zn-Al-Mg-RE anti-corrosion coating for steel structure sustainable design was manufactured by cored wires and high velocity arc spraying (HVAS) technologies. The developments of thermally sprayed coatings for steel structure protection were described. Based on Al, Zn, Zn-Al and Zn-Al-Mg coatings, the anti-corrosion properties of new-pattern Zn-Al-Mg-RE coating were evaluated through electrochemical methods including electrochemical polarization and electrochemical impedance spectroscopy (EIS) coupled with SEM and XRD. The models of Zn-Al-Mg-RE coating undergoing corrosion with the initial pinhole defect and the latter with accelerated products were also discussed. The results show that Zn-Al-Mg-RE coating exhibites excellent corrosion resistance for long-term immersion, which is helpful for the sustainable design of steel structure in aggressive corrosion conditions. And the corrosion products seem to possess certain self-sealing function.展开更多

Taking a research example of an FBW passenger airliner model with longitudinal relaxed-static-stability, a new method of signal type selection and signal parameter design is proposed, through analysis of signal energy distribution and plane body's frequency response. According to CCAR60--the Appraisal and Use Regulation of Flight Simulator Device, the simulation validation of the FBW passenger airliner's longitudinal aerodynamic parameters identification is put forward. The validation result indicates that the designed signal could excite the longitudinal motion mode of the FBW passenger airliner adequately and the multiparameter comparison in simulation meets the objective test request of CCAR60. First, wiring constraints are created, and a corresponding evaluation model is proposed. Then, based on the structure of the cabinet, we propose a contour expansion scheme to construct rough paths. Different wiring features of the switchgear are used to connect rough local paths. All the paths are represented in a uniform data structure and forma path network. Finally, an improved A* algorithm is used to search the wiring path between the components in the routing network; the evaluation model is considered as heuristic rules for path searching. The result can satisfy the practical requirements of switchgear design. Experimental results are also provided.展开更多

Manual process of creating bonding diagram is known to be time consuming and error prone. In comparison, offline programming (OLP) provides a much more viable option to reduce the wire bonding creation time and error....Manual process of creating bonding diagram is known to be time consuming and error prone. In comparison, offline programming (OLP) provides a much more viable option to reduce the wire bonding creation time and error. OLP is available in two versions, i.e., vendor specific OLP and direct integration offline pro- gramming (Di-OLP). Both versions utilize the bonding diagram and computer aided design data to speed up bonding program creation. However, the newly proposed Di-OLP is more flexible as it can be used to create bonding program for multiple machine platforms in microelectronics industry. Some special features of Di-OLP method are presented. The application of generic OLP however, is applicable to machines that recognize ASCII text file. The user needs to know the data format accepted by machine and convert the data accordingly to suit its application for different machine platforms. Di-OLP is also a practical method to replace the time consuming manual method in production line.展开更多
