This paper is dedicated to fixed-time passivity and synchronization for multi-weighted spatiotemporal directed networks.First,to achieve fixed-time passivity,a type of decentralized power-law controller is developed,in which only one parameter needs to be adjusted in the power-law terms;this greatly decreases the inconvenience of parameter adjustment.Second, several fixed-time passivity criteria with LMI forms are derived by using a Gauss divergence theorem to deal with the spatial diffusion of nodes and by applying the Hölder’s inequality to dispose rigorously the power-law term greater than one in the designed control scheme;this improves the previous theoretical analysis.Additionally, the fixed-time synchronization of spatiotemporal directed networks with multi-weights is addressed as a direct result of fixed-time strict passivity. Finally,a numerical example is presented in order to show the validity of the theoretical analysis. 展开更多

Based on conventional particle swarm optimization(PSO),this paper presents an efficient and reliable heuristic approach using PSO with an adaptive random inertia weight(ARIW)strategy, referred to as the ARIW-PSO algorithm,to build a multi-objective optimization model for reservoir operation.Using the triangular probability density function, the inertia weight is randomly generated, and the probability density function is automatically adjusted to make the inertia weight generally greater in the initial stage of evolution, which is suitable for global searches. In the evolution process, the inertia weight gradually decreases, which is beneficial to local searches. The performance of the ARIWPSO algorithm was investigated with some classical test functions, and the results were compared with those of the genetic algorithm(GA),the conventional PSO,and other improved PSO methods. Then, the ARIW-PSO algorithm was applied to multi-objective optimal dispatch of the Panjiakou Reservoir and multi-objective flood control operation of a reservoir group on the Luanhe River in China, including the Panjiakou Reservoir,Daheiting Reservoir, and Taolinkou Reservoir. The validity of the multi-objective optimization model for multi-reservoir systems based on the ARIW-PSO algorithm was verified. 展开更多

Impinging jet arrays are extensively used in numerous industrial operations, including the cooling of electronics, turbine blades, and other high-heat flux systems because of their superior heat transfer capabilities.Optimizing the design and operating parameters of such systems is essential to enhance cooling efficiency and achieve uniform pressure distribution, which can lead to improved system performance and energy savings. This paper presents two multi-objective optimization methodologies for a turbulent air jet impingement cooling system. The governing equations are resolved employing the commercial computational fluid dynamics(CFD)software ANSYS Fluent v17.The study focuses on four controlling parameters:Reynolds number(Re),swirl number(S),jet-to-jet separation distance(Z/D),and impingement height(H/D).The effects of these parameters on heat transfer and impingement pressure distribution are investigated.Non-dominated Sorting Genetic Algorithm(NSGA-II)and Weighted Sum Method(WSM)are employed to optimize the controlling parameters for maximum cooling performance. The aim is to identify optimal design parameters and system configurations that enhance heat transfer efficiency while achieving a uniform impingement pressure distribution. These findings have practical implications for applications requiring efficient cooling. The optimized design achieved a 12.28%increase in convective heat transfer efficiency with a local Nusselt number of 113.05 compared to 100.69 in the reference design.Enhanced convective cooling and heat flux were observed in the optimized configuration, particularly in areas of direct jet impingement.Additionally, the optimized design maintained lower wall temperatures, demonstrating more effective thermal dissipation. 展开更多

After training the connection weights of two-stage NNs separately in training phase, the connection weights of the unified NN are updated again in verification phase according to error between the predicted and target gains to eliminate the inherent error of the NNs. The simulation results show that the mean of root mean square error(RMSE) and maximum error of gains are 0.131 d B and 0.281 d B, respectively. Grain filling is a critical determinant of yield and quality in rice. This study aims to clarify the association between grain photosynthesis and the filling rate of rice varieties with different grain weights, providing a theoretical foundation for optimizing grain-filling processes. Two rice varieties with similar growth duration but different grain weights were selected:a large-grain variety,Lingliangyou 268(L268),and a small-grain variety,Ruiliangyou 1053(R1053).Differences in grain filling, grain photosynthetic rate, and grain chlorophyll content were systematically examined during the filling stage. Results showed significant differences in grain-filling,grain photosynthetic rate, and grain chlorophyll content between large-grain and small-grain rice varieties. The grain photosynthetic rate of L268 was a significantly higher than R1053.L268 also exhibited significantly higher initial grain filling rate, maximum grainfilling rate, and mean grain filling rate compared to R1053.Throughout the grain filling period,L268 showed higher grain chlorophyll content(including chlorophyll a,chlorophyll b,and total chlorophyll)than R1053.The increase in chlorophyll content, particularly total chlorophyll, enhanced the grain photosynthetic rate during the early and middle stages of grain filling significantly. These findings suggested that rice varieties with higher grain weights exhibited stronger panicle photosynthetic capacity due to their higher chlorophyll content. The enhanced grain photosynthetic rate contributed to improved grain filling and increased grain weight. 展开更多

Machinery condition monitoring is beneficial to equipment maintenance and has been receiving much attention from academia and industry.Machine learning, especially deep learning, has become popular for machinery condition monitoring because that can fully use available data and computational power.Since significant accidents might be caused if wrong fault alarms are given for machine condition monitoring, interpretable machine learning models, integrate signal processing knowledge to enhance trustworthiness of models, are gradually becoming a research hotspot.A previous spectrum-based and interpretable optimized weights method has been proposed to indicate faulty and fundamental frequencies when the analyzed data only contains a healthy type and a fault type.Considering that multiclass fault types are naturally met in practice, this work aims to explore the interpretable optimized weights method for multiclass fault type scenarios. Therefore,a new multiclass optimized weights spectrum(OWS)is proposed and further studied theoretically and numerically. It is found that the multiclass OWS is capable of capturing the characteristic components associated with different conditions and clearly indicating specific fault characteristic frequencies(FCFs)corresponding to each fault condition. This work can provide new insights into spectrum-based fault classification models, and the new multiclass OWS also shows great potential for practical applications. 展开更多

Modern battlefields exhibit high dynamism, where traditional static weighting methods in combat effectiveness assessment fail to capture real-time changes in indicator values, leading to limited assessment accuracy—especially critical in scenarios like sudden electronic warfare or degraded command, where static weights cannot reflect the operational value decay or surge of key indicators. To address this issue, this study proposes a dynamic adaptive weightingmethod for evaluation indicators based onG1-CRITIC-PIVW.First,theG1(Sequential Relationship Analysis Method)subjective weighting method—translates expert knowledge into indicator importance rankings—leverages expert knowledge to quantify the relative importance of indicators via sequential relationship ranking, while the CRITIC(Criteria Importance Through Intercriteria Correlation)objective weighting method—derives weights from data characteristics by integrating variability and inter-correlations—calculates weights by integrating indicator variability and inter-indicator correlations, ensuring data-driven objectivity. These two sets of weights are then fused using a deviation coefficient optimization model, minimizing the squared deviation from a reference weight and adjusting the fusion coefficient via Spearman’s rank correlation to resolve potential conflicts between subjective and objective judgments.Subsequently, the PIVW(Punishment-Incentive VariableWeight)theory—adapts weights to realtime indicator performance via penalty/incentive rules—is applied for dynamic adjustment.Scenario-specific penalty λ_(1) and incentive λ_(2) thresholds are set based on operational priorities and indicator volatility, penalizing indicators with values below λ_(1) and incentivizing those exceeding λ_(2) to reflect real-time indicator performance.Experimental validation was conducted using an Air Defense and Anti-Missile(ADAM)system effectiveness assessment framework, with data covering 7 indicators across 3 combat scenarios. Results show that compared to static weighting methods, the proposed method reduces MAE(Mean Absolute Error)by 15%-20% and weighted decision error rate by 84.2%,effectively reducing overestimation/underestimation of combat effectiveness in dynamic scenarios;compared to Entropy-TOPSIS,it lowers MAE by 12% while achieving a weighted Kendall’sτconsistency coefficient of 0.85,ensuring higher alignment with expert judgment. This method enhances the accuracy and scenario adaptability of effectiveness assessment, providing reliable decision support for dynamic battlefield environments. 展开更多

Autonomous connected vehicles(ACV)involve advanced control strategies to effectively balance safety, efficiency, energy consumption, and passenger comfort. This research introduces a deep reinforcement learning(DRL)-based car-following(CF)framework employing the Deep Deterministic Policy Gradient(DDPG)algorithm, which integrates a multi-objective reward function that balances the four goals while maintaining safe policy learning.Utilizing real-world driving data from the highD dataset, the proposed model learns adaptive speed control policies suitable for dynamic traffic scenarios. The performance of the DRL-based model is evaluated against a traditional model predictive control-adaptive cruise control(MPC-ACC)controller.Results show that theDRLmodel significantly enhances safety, achieving zero collisions and a higher average time-to-collision(TTC)of 8.45 s,compared to 5.67 s for MPC and 6.12 s for human drivers. For efficiency, the model demonstrates 89.2% headway compliance and maintains speed tracking errors below 1.2 m/s in 90% of cases. In terms of energy optimization, the proposed approach reduces fuel consumption by 5.4% relative to MPC.Additionally,it enhances passenger comfort by lowering jerk values by 65%,achieving 0.12 m/s3 vs.0.34 m/s3 for human drivers.A multi-objective reward function is integrated to ensure stable policy convergence while simultaneously balancing the four key performance metrics. Moreover, the findings underscore the potential of DRL in advancing autonomous vehicle control, offering a robust and sustainable solution for safer, more efficient, and more comfortable transportation systems. 展开更多

Task scheduling in cloud computing is a multi-objective optimization problem, often involving conflicting objectives such as minimizing execution time, reducing operational cost, and maximizing resource utilization. However, traditional approaches frequently rely on single-objective optimization methods which are insufficient for capturing the complexity of such problems. To address this limitation,we introduce MDMOSA(Multi-objective Dwarf Mongoose Optimization with Simulated Annealing),a hybrid that integrates multi-objective optimization for efficient task scheduling in Infrastructure-as-a-Service(IaaS)cloud environments.MDMOSA harmonizes the exploration capabilities of the biologically inspired Dwarf Mongoose Optimization(DMO)with the exploitation strengths of Simulated Annealing(SA),achieving a balanced search process. The algorithm aims to optimize task allocation by reducing makespan and financial cost while improving system resource utilization. We evaluate MDMOSA through extensive simulations using the real-world Google Cloud Jobs(GoCJ)dataset within the CloudSim environment.Comparative analysis against benchmarked algorithms such as SMOACO,MOTSGWO,and MFPAGWO reveals that MDMOSA consistently achieves superior performance in terms of scheduling efficiency,cost-effectiveness,and scalability. These results confirm the potential of MDMOSA as a robust and adaptable solution for resource scheduling in dynamic and heterogeneous cloud computing infrastructures. 展开更多

Deployable Composite Thin-Walled Structures(DCTWS)are widely used in space applications due to their ability to compactly fold and self-deploy in orbit, enabled by cutouts.Cutout design is crucial for balancing structural rigidity and flexibility, ensuring material integrity during large deformations, and providing adequate load-bearing capacity and stability once deployed. Most research has focused on optimizing cutout size and shape, while topology optimization offers a broader design space. However, the anisotropic properties of woven composite laminates, complex failure criteria, and multi-performance optimization needs have limited the exploration of topology optimization in this field. This work derives the sensitivities of bending stiffness, critical buckling load, and the failure index of woven composite materials with respect to element density, and formulates both single-objective and multi-objective topology optimization models using a linear weighted aggregation approach. The developed method was integrated with the commercial finite element software ABAQUS via a Python script, allowing efficient application to cutout design in various DCTWS configurations to maximize bending stiffness and critical buckling load under material failure constraints.Optimization of a classical tubular hinge resulted in improvements of 107.7%in bending stiffness and 420.5%in critical buckling load compared to level-set topology optimization results reported in the literature, validating the effectiveness of the approach. To facilitate future research and encourage the broader adoption of topology optimization techniques in DCTWS design, the source code for this work is made publicly available via a Git Hub link:https://github.com/jinhao-ok1/Topo-for-DCTWS.git. 展开更多

In a wide range of engineering applications, complex constrained multi-objective optimization problems(CMOPs)present significant challenges,as the complexity of constraints often hampers algorithmic convergence and reduces population diversity. To address these challenges,we propose a novel algorithm named Constraint IntensityDriven Evolutionary Multitasking(CIDEMT),which employs a two-stage,tri-task framework to dynamically integrates problem structure and knowledge transfer. In the first stage, three cooperative tasks are designed to explore the Constrained Pareto Front(CPF),the Unconstrained Pareto Front(UPF),and theε-relaxed constraint boundary, respectively.A CPF-UPF relationship classifier is employed to construct a problem-type-aware evolutionary strategy pool.At the end of the first stage, each task selects strategies from this strategy pool based on the specific type of problem, thereby guiding the subsequent evolutionary process. In the second stage, while each task continues to evolve,aτ-driven knowledge transfer mechanism is introduced to selectively incorporate effective solutions across tasks.enhancing the convergence and feasibility of the main task.Extensive experiments conducted on 32 benchmark problems from three test suites(LIRCMOP,DASCMOP,and DOC)demonstrate that CIDEMT achieves the best Inverted Generational Distance(IGD)values on 24 problems and the best Hypervolume values(HV)on 22 problems.Furthermore,CIDEMT significantly outperforms six state-of-the-art constrained multi-objective evolutionary algorithms(CMOEAs).These results confirm CIDEMT’s superiority in promoting convergence, diversity, and robustness in solving complex CMOPs. 展开更多

Understanding fish movement trajectories in aquaculture is essential for practical applications, such as disease warning, feeding optimization, and breeding management. These trajectories reveal key information about the fish’s behavior, health, and environmental adaptability. However, when multi-object tracking(MOT)algorithms are applied to the high-density aquaculture environment, occlusion and overlapping among fish may result in missed detections, false detections, and identity switching problems, which limit the tracking accuracy. To address these issues, this paper proposes FishTracker,a MOT algorithm,by utilizing a Tracking-by-Detection framework.First, the neck part of the YOLOv8 model is enhanced by introducing a Multi-Scale Dilated Attention(MSDA)module to improve object localization and classification confidence.Second,an Adaptive Kalman Filter(AKF)is employed in the tracking phase to dynamically adjust motion prediction parameters, thereby overcoming target adhesion and nonlinear motion in complex scenarios.Experimental results show that FishTracker achieves a multi-object tracking accuracy(MOTA)of 93.22% and 87.24% in bright and dark illumination conditions, respectively.Further validation in a real aquaculture scenario reveal that FishTracker achieves aMOTA of 76.70%,which is 5.34% higher than the baselinemodel. The higher order tracking accuracy(HOTA)reaches 50.5%,which is 3.4% higher than the benchmark. In conclusion,FishTracker can provide reliable technical support for accurate tracking and behavioral analysis of high-density fish populations. 展开更多

Community detection is one of the most fundamental applications in understanding the structure of complicated networks.Furthermore,it is an important approach to identifying closely linked clusters of nodes that may represent underlying patterns and relationships.Networking structures are highly sensitive in social networks, requiring advanced techniques to accurately identify the structure of these communities. Most conventional algorithms for detecting communities perform inadequately with complicated networks. In addition, they miss out on accurately identifying clusters.Since single-objective optimization cannot always generate accurate and comprehensive results,as multi-objective optimization can. Therefore,we utilized two objective functions that enable strong connections between communities and weak connections between them.In this study,we utilized the intra function, which has proven effective in state-of-the-art research studies. We proposed a new inter-function that has demonstrated its effectiveness by making the objective of detecting external connections between communities is to make them more distinct and sparse.Furthermore,we proposed a Multi-Objective community strength enhancement algorithm(MOCSE).The proposed algorithm is based on the framework of the Multi-Objective Evolutionary Algorithm with Decomposition(MOEA/D),integrated with a new heuristic mutation strategy, community strength enhancement(CSE).The results demonstrate that the model is effective in accurately identifying community structures while also being computationally efficient. The performance measures used to evaluate the MOEA/D algorithm in our work are normalized mutual information(NMI)and modularity(Q).It was tested using five state-of-the-art algorithms on social networks, comprising real datasets(Zachary,Dolphin,Football,Krebs,SFI,Jazz, and Netscience),as well as twenty synthetic datasets. These results provide the robustness and practical value of the proposed algorithm in multi-objective community identification. 展开更多

Vehicle Edge Computing(VEC)and Cloud Computing(CC)significantly enhance the processing efficiency of delay-sensitive and computation-intensive applications by offloading compute-intensive tasks from resource-constrained onboard devices to nearby Roadside Unit(RSU),thereby achieving lower delay and energy consumption. However, due to the limited storage capacity and energy budget of RSUs,it is challenging to meet the demands of the highly dynamic Internet of Vehicles(IoV)environment. Therefore, determining reasonable service caching and computation offloading strategies is crucial. To address this, this paper proposes a joint service caching scheme for cloud-edge collaborative IoV computation offloading.By modeling the dynamic optimization problem using Markov Decision Processes(MDP),the scheme jointly optimizes task delay, energy consumption, load balancing, and privacy entropy to achieve better quality of service.Additionally,a dynamic adaptive multi-objective deep reinforcement learning algorithm is proposed. Each Double Deep Q-Network(DDQN)agent obtains rewards for different objectives based on distinct reward functions and dynamically updates the objective weights by learning the value changes between objectives using Radial Basis Function Networks(RBFN),thereby efficiently approximating the Pareto-optimal decisions for multiple objectives.Extensive experiments demonstrate that the proposed algorithm can better coordinate the three-tier computing resources of cloud, edge, and vehicles.Compared to existing algorithms, the proposed method reduces task delay and energy consumption by 10.64%and 5.1%,respectively. 展开更多

Ultra-high molecular weight polyethylene(UHMWPE)is a key material for marine applications owing to its outstanding self-lubrication and corrosion resistance. However, its long-term performance is compromised by plastic deformation in seawater. In this study,we performed a comparative analysis of the UHMWPE dynamics under seawater and water conditions to investigate the plastic deformation of UHMWPE induced by seawater. The results show that the plastic deformation of UHMWPE is amplified in seawater relative to the water conditions.Under thin fluid conditions, frictional interfaces exhibit a higher interfacial friction force and interaction energy in seawater than in water.Compared to freely diffused water molecules, hydrated ions occupy larger interchain spaces within polyethylene.Furthermore, the diffusion of hydrated ions weakens the interchain interactions, promoting more severe polyethylene chain rearrangement and accelerating seawater-induced plastic deformation in UHMWPE during friction.Furthermore, the diffused seawater accelerated the disentangling of the polyethylene chains and enhanced the orderly orientation distribution of polyethylene.Compared to free water molecules, the water molecules of hydrated ions exhibit enhanced attraction to free-flowing water molecules, thereby accelerating seawater flow across submerged UHMWPE surfaces. This flow enhancement promotes surface polyethylene chain mobility in seawater. 展开更多

In image analysis,high-precision semantic segmentation predominantly relies on supervised learning.Despite significant advancements driven by deep learning techniques, challenges such as class imbalance and dynamic performance evaluation persist.Traditional weighting methods, often based on pre-statistical class counting, tend to overemphasize certain classes while neglecting others, particularly rare sample categories.Approaches like focal loss and other rare-sample segmentation techniques introduce multiple hyperparameters that require manual tuning, leading to increased experimental costs due to their instability. This paper proposes a novel CAWASeg framework to address these limitations. Our approach leverages Grad-CAM technology to generate class activation maps, identifying key feature regions that the model focuses on during decision-making.We introduce a Comprehensive Segmentation Performance Score(CSPS)to dynamically evaluate model performance by converting these activation maps into pseudo mask and comparing them with Ground Truth.Additionally,we design two adaptive weights for each class:a Basic Weight(BW)and a Ratio Weight(RW),which the model adjusts during training based on real-time feedback.Extensive experiments on the COCO-Stuff,CityScapes,and ADE20k datasets demonstrate that our CAWASeg framework significantly improves segmentation performance for rare sample categories while enhancing overall segmentation accuracy. The proposed method offers a robust and efficient solution for addressing class imbalance in semantic segmentation tasks. 展开更多
