This paper studies the global existence and large-time behaviors of weak solutions to the kinetic particle model coupled with the incompressible Navier-Stokes equations in IR3.First,we obtain the global weak solution using the characteristic and energy methods.Then,under the small assumption of the mass of the particle,we show that the solutions decay at the algebraic time-decay rate.Finally,it is also proved that the above rate is optimal.It should be remarked that if the particle in the coupled system vanishes(i.e.f=O),our works coincide with the classical results by Schonbek[32](J Amer Math Soc,1991,4:423-449),which can be regarded as a generalization from a single fuid model to the two-phase fluid one. 展开更多

In this article, we prove the global existence of weak solutions to the non- isothermal nematic liquid crystal system on T2, on the basis of a new approximate system which is different from the classical Ginzburg-Landau approximation. Local in space energy inequalities are employed to recover the estimates on the second order spatial derivatives of the director fields locally in time, which cannot be derived from the basic energy balance. It is shown that these weak solutions satisfy the temperature equation, and also the total energy equation but away from at most finite many "singular" times, at which the energy concentration occurs and the director field losses its second order derivatives. 展开更多

In this paper, we study the global existence of weak solutions for the Cauchy problem of the nonlinear hyperbolic system of three equations(1.1) with bounded initial data(1.2). When we fix the third variable s, the system about the variables ρ and u is the classical isentropic gas dynamics in Eulerian coordinates with the pressure function P(ρ, s) = ese-1/ρ,which, in general, does not form a bounded invariant region. We introduce a variant of the viscosity argument, and construct the approximate solutions of(1.1) and(1.2) by adding the artificial viscosity to the Riemann invariants system(2.1). When the amplitude of the first two Riemann invariants(w1(x, 0), w2(x, 0)) of system(1.1) is small,(w1(x, 0), w2(x, 0)) are nondecreasing and the third Riemann invariant s(x, 0) is of the bounded total variation, we obtained the necessary estimates and the pointwise convergence of the viscosity solutions by the compensated compactness theory. This paper is devoted to weak solutions of Cauchy problem to the isothermal bipolar hydrodynamic model with large data. The model takes the bipolar Euler-Poisson form, with electric field and relaxation terms added to the momentum equations. Using Glimm scheme to the hyperbolic part and the standard theory to the ordinary differential equations, we first construct the approximation solutions, then from the facts that the total charge is quasi-conservation, we can obtain a uniform estimate of the total variation of the electric field, which allows to prove the L∞ estimate of densities and velocities, and the convergence of the scheme. Then we can prove the global existence of weal solution to Cauchy problem with large data. 展开更多
