The streamwise velocity components at different vertical heights in wall turbulence were measured. Wavelet transform was used to study the turbulent energy spectra, indicating that the global spectrum results from the weighted average of Fourier spectrum based on wavelet scales. W'avelet transform with more vanishing moments can express the declining of turbulent spectrum. The local wavelet spectrum shows that the physical phenomena such as deformation position in the boundary layer, and the or breakup of eddies are related to the vertical energy-containing eddies exist in a multi-scale form. Moreover, the size of these eddies increases with the measured points moving out of the wall. In the buffer region, the small scale energy-containing eddies with higher frequency are excited. In the outer region, the maximal energy is concentrated in the low-frequency large-scale eddies, and the frequency domain of energy-containing eddies becomes narrower. 展开更多

In order to test the validity of the global wavelet spectrum - a new period analysis method based on wavelet analysis, we carried out some simple experiments. In our experiments we used idealized time series and real Nifio 3 sea surface temperature (SST) for testing purposes. First we combined different signals which have the same power but different periods into some new time series. Then we calculated the global wavelet spectra and Fourier power spectra for the testing time series. The testing results revealed that on some occasions the global wavelet spectrum tends to amplify the relative power of longer periods. By making comparisons with the results obtained by the traditional Fourier power spectrum, we demonstrated that on an occasion when the global wavelet spectrum does not work the Fourier power spectrum can be used to achieve the right results. Hence it is recommended that when making period analysis with the global wavelet spectrum one needs to do further tests to confirm their results. 展开更多

Protein structural classification and family identification by multifractal analysis and wavelet spectrum

Family identification is helpful for predicting protein functions. It has been known from the literature that longer sequences of base pairs or amino acids are required to study patterns in biological sequences. Since most protein sequences are relatively short, we randomly concatenate or link the protein sequences from the same family or superfamily together to form longer protein sequences. The 6-letter model, 12-letter model, 20-letter model, the revised Schneider and Wrede scale hydrophobicity, solvent accessibility and stochastic standard state accessibility are used to convert linked protein sequences into numerical sequences. Then multifractal analyses and wavelet analysis are performed on these numerical sequences. The parameters from these analyses can be used to construct parameter spaces where each linked protein is represented by a point. The four classes of proteins, namely the α/β, α+β and α/β classes, are then distinguished in these parameter spaces. The Fisher linear discriminant algorithm is used to assess the discriminant accuracy. Numerical results indicate that the discriminant accuracies are satisfactory in separating these classes. We find that the linked proteins from the same family or superfamily tend to group together and can be separated from other linked proteins. The methods are helpful for identifying the family of an unknown protein. 展开更多

The RWE provides quantitatively the information about the relative energy associated with different frequency bands present in the EEG. The SWE carries information about the degree of order or disorder associated with different time segment of EEG evolution, which can determine the time-segment loealizations of abnormal dynamic processes of brain activity due to the localization characteristics of the wavelet transform. The experimental results show that the RWE and SWE are different between epileptic EEGs and normal EEGs, which demonstrate that the RWE and the SWE are helpful to analyze the dynamic behavior of different EEGs. 展开更多

On the basis of two patterns of constant-phase rotation and root transform for wavelet phase spectrum variation, we introduce six sparse criteria, including Lu’s improved kurtosis criterion, the parsimony criterion, exponential transform criterion, Sech criterion, Cauchy criterion, and the modified Cauchy criterion, to phase spectrum estimation of the seismic wavelet, obtaining an equivalent effect to the kurtosis criterion. Through numerical experiments, we find that when the reflectivity is not a sparse sequence, the estimated phase spectrum of the seismic wavelet based on the criterion function will deviate from the true value. In order to eliminate the influence of non-sparse reflectivity series in a single trace, we apply the method to the multi-trace seismogram, improving the accuracy of seismic wavelet phase spectrum estimation. 展开更多

Improved significance testing of wavelet power spectrum near data boundaries as applied to polar research

When one applies the wavelet transform to analyze finite-length time series, discontinuities at the data boundaries will distort its wavelet power spectrum in some regions which are defined as a wavelength-dependent cone of influence (COI). In the COI, significance tests are unreliable. At the same time, as many time series are short and noisy, the COI is a serious limitation in wavelet analysis of time series. In this paper, we will give a method to reduce boundary effects and discover significant frequencies in the COI. After that, we will apply our method to analyze Greenland winter temperature and Baltic sea ice. The new method makes use of line removal and odd extension of the time series. This causes the derivative of the series to be continuous (unlike the case for other padding methods). This will give the most reasonable padding methodology if the time series being analyzed has red noise characteristics. 展开更多

Blind image quality assessment(BIQA) can assess the perceptual quality of a distorted image without a prior knowledge of its reference image or distortion type. In this paper, a novel BIQA model is developed in wavelet domain. Considering the multi-resolution and band-passing characteristics of discrete wavelet transform(DWT), an improvement over the power spectrum is put forward, i.e., dubbed wavelet power spectrum(WPS)estimation. Then, the concept of directional WPS is applied to simplify the calculation. Moreover, a rotationally symmetric modulation transfer function(MTF) of human visual system(HVS) is integrated as a filter, which makes the metric to be consistent with the human vision perception and more discriminative. Experiments are conducted on the LIVE databases and three other databases, and the results show that the proposed metric is highly correlated with subjective evaluations and it competes well with other state-of-the-art metrics in terms of effectiveness and robustness. 展开更多

A versatile approach is employed to generate artificial accelerograms which satisfy the compatibility criteria prescribed by the Chinese aseismic code provisions GB 50011-2001. In particular, a frequency dependent peak factor derived by means of appropriate Monte Carlo analyses is introduced to relate the GB 50011-2001 design spectrum to a parametrically defined evolutionary power spectrum (EPS). Special attention is given to the definition of the frequency content of the EPS in order to accommodate the mathematical form of the aforementioned design spectrum. Further, a one-to-one relationship is established between the parameter controlling the time-varying intensity of the EPS and the effective strong ground motion duration. Subsequently, an efficient auto-regressive moving-average (ARMA) filtering technique is utilized to generate ensembles of non-stationary artificial accelerograms whose average response spectrum is in a close agreement with the considered design spectrum. Furthermore, a harmonic wavelet based iterative scheme is adopted to modify these artificial signals so that a close matching of the signals' response spectra with the GB 50011-2001 design spectrum is achieved on an individual basis. This is also done for field recorded accelerograms pertaining to the May, 2008 Wenchuan seismic event. In the process, zero-phase high-pass filtering is performed to accomplish proper baseline correction of the acquired spectrum compatible artificial and field accelerograms. The state equation and observation equation of the structural dynamic systems under various analysis scales are derived based on wavelet packet analysis. The time-frequency properties of structural dynamic response under various scales are further formulated. The theoretical analysis results reveal that the wavelet packet energy spectrum (WPES) obtained from wavelet packet decomposition of structural dynamic response will detect the presence of structural damage. The sensitivity analysis of the WPES to structural damage and measurement noise is also performed. The transfer properties of the structural system matrix and the observation noise under various analysis scales are formulated, which verify the damage alarming reliability using the proposed WPES with preferable damage sensitivity and noise robusticity. 展开更多

基于确定性函数的小波变换,结合非平稳随机过程的谱分解理论,推导出其小波系数也是一个非平稳随机过程。在此基础上建立了小波系数的源谱表达,通过引入随机正交函数的降维方法,得到基于小波变换的非平稳随机过程降维表达。选取MH、MO及... 基于确定性函数的小波变换,结合非平稳随机过程的谱分解理论,推导出其小波系数也是一个非平稳随机过程。在此基础上建立了小波系数的源谱表达,通过引入随机正交函数的降维方法,得到基于小波变换的非平稳随机过程降维表达。选取MH、MO及MLP三种小波,针对它们的离散方式和尺度范围,通过比较分析确定了最优方案。实现了采用两个基本随机变量即可生成地震动加速度过程的代表性样本集合。算例表明,本文方法在精度和非平稳性方面优于传统谱表示方法,并通过与实测强震记录拟合验证了该方法的工程适用性。值得说明的是,降维方法是一种全概率方法,即生成的数百条代表性样本可构成一个完备的概率集,为结合概率密度演化理论进行复杂工程结构的精细化抗震分析奠定了基础。 展开更多

为了解决滚动轴承故障诊断过程中由于环境噪声干扰所导致的故障分类准确性较低的问题,提出一种基于改进型完全自适应噪声集合经验模态分解(improved complete ensemble empirical mode decomposition with adaptive noise,简称ICEEMDAN... 为了解决滚动轴承故障诊断过程中由于环境噪声干扰所导致的故障分类准确性较低的问题,提出一种基于改进型完全自适应噪声集合经验模态分解(improved complete ensemble empirical mode decomposition with adaptive noise,简称ICEEMDAN)与小波包阈值去噪相结合的多阶段处理的轴承故障诊断方法。首先,对滚动轴承的原始振动信号应用ICEEMDAN方法将其分解为不同分量;其次,基于分解结果构建相关系数-多尺度排列熵(multi-scale permutation entropy,简称MPE)筛选准则以划分高噪、低噪分量;然后,利用小波包阈值抑制高噪分量中的背景噪声,并与低噪分量进行重构;最后,对重构信号实施包络解调,提取出蕴含关键故障信息的特征信号,并建立故障特征能量图,实现对轴承故障类型的识别。为了验证所提出方法的有效性,分别采用滚动轴承外圈故障仿真数据、凯斯西储大学深沟球轴承实验台的故障数据和某型航空发动机三支点轴承试验平台的试验数据开展试验验证。试验结果表明,所提方法能够在复杂工况下准确识别滚动轴承的故障模式,对滚动轴承的智能运维具有重要的理论意义和工程实用价值。 展开更多

基于米氏旋回理论的高频层序识别与划分——以南八仙油气田下油砂山组为例

【目的】通过分析地球轨道周期性变化对气候周期性变化的影响,探讨柴达木盆地下油砂山组的气候变化特征,基于米兰科维奇理论对柴达木盆地下油砂山组建立高分辨率的天文年代标尺,识别和划分高频层序,旨在为油气勘探和资源评价提供参考。... 【目的】通过分析地球轨道周期性变化对气候周期性变化的影响,探讨柴达木盆地下油砂山组的气候变化特征,基于米兰科维奇理论对柴达木盆地下油砂山组建立高分辨率的天文年代标尺,识别和划分高频层序,旨在为油气勘探和资源评价提供参考。【方法】利用Laskar算法计算北纬35°夏至日14.5~23.8 Ma期间地球轨道参数变化周期,确定了该沉积期米氏旋回理论和米氏旋回周期比。以南八仙油气田的仙中39井、仙中8-9井及仙中8-12井为例,对自然伽马数据进行频谱和连续小波变换分析。根据轨道周期计算出下油砂山组平均沉积速率,建立了仙中39井的“浮动”天文年代标尺。【结果】频谱和连续小波变换分析发现,新近系下油砂山组主要受400 ka和95 ka偏心率周期控制。根据计算结果,下油砂山组平均沉积速率为0.09441 m/ka,沉积持续时间为7.2 Ma。以400 ka长偏心周期曲线和95 ka短偏心周期曲线作为基准曲线,共鉴定出18个四级准层序组和72个五级准层序。【结论】下油砂山组中所记录的气候变化明显受到旋回的控制和驱动。基于米兰科维奇理论识别与划分,能够减少主观因素的影响,提高划分结果的准确性,更准确地刻画沉积物中的气候变化特征。这些研究成果有助于深入理解地球气候演变规律,并为油气勘探和资源评价提供重要参考。 展开更多

One core issue of global vibration-based health monitoring methods is to seek some damage indices that are sensitive to structural damage, This paper proposes an online structural health monitoring method for long-span suspension bridges using wavelet packet transform (WPT). The WPT- based method is based on the energy variations of structural ambient vibration responses decomposed using wavelet packet analysis. The main feature of this method is that the proposed wavelet packet energy spectrum (WPES) has the ability to detect structural damage from ambient vibration tests of a long-span suspension bridge. As an example application, the WPES-based health monitoring system is used on the Runyang Suspension Bridge under daily environmental conditions. The analysis reveals that changes in environmental temperature have a long-term influence on the WPES, while the effect of traffic loadings on the measured WPES of the bridge presents instantaneous changes because of the nonstationary properties of the loadings. The condition indication indices VD reflect the influences of environmental temperature on the dynamic properties of the Runyang Suspension Bridge. The field tests demonstrate that the proposed WPES-based condition indication index VD is a good candidate index for health monitoring of long-span suspension bridges under ambient excitations. 展开更多

[目的]在电气设备的健康监测中,局部放电(Partial Discharge,PD)信号常受到各种噪声源的干扰,这些干扰主要来自设备自身的运行噪声或外部环境的干扰。[方法]为有效解决噪声干扰问题,提高局放检测的准确性和可靠性,提出一种基于频谱分析的自适应奇异值分解(Singular Value Decomposition,SVD)和经验小波变换(Empirical Wavelet Transform,EWT)相结合的去噪算法。首先,对含噪PD信号进行快速傅里叶变换(Fast Fourier Transform,FFT)频谱分析,提出改进经典阈值和频谱幅值行向量峭度判别相结合的窄带干扰数量确定方法,重构并去除周期性窄带干扰噪声。随后,采用EWT算法对残留白噪声的PD信号进行自适应分解,筛选满足峭度条件的模态分量重构PD信号。最后,利用改进阈值方法去除重构信号中的少量白噪声,得到去噪后的PD信号。[结果]仿真及实测去噪处理结果表明,所提方法分别在信噪比、均方根误差、相关系数以及降噪率指标上达到7.02、0.0112、0.9003和33.0057。[结论]该方法能够有效去除窄带干扰及白噪声,相比于其他去噪方法,所提方法在多个评价指标上均有所改善,具有良好的去噪效果。 展开更多

在复杂环境条件下,全球导航卫星系统(GNSS)-实时动态差分定位(RTK)技术面临着多路径效应和随机噪声的双重挑战。为解决该问题,本文提出了一种基于自适应完备集合经验模态分解(CEEMDAN)的组合噪声方法,旨在提高基线坐标序列的噪声抑制效... 在复杂环境条件下,全球导航卫星系统(GNSS)-实时动态差分定位(RTK)技术面临着多路径效应和随机噪声的双重挑战。为解决该问题,本文提出了一种基于自适应完备集合经验模态分解(CEEMDAN)的组合噪声方法,旨在提高基线坐标序列的噪声抑制效果。首先,采用CEEMDAN方法对原始信号进行分解,得到多个本征模态函数(IMF),并通过排列熵方法将信号区分为高频和低频成分;其次,针对不同频率成分,分别应用小波包分解(WP)和奇异谱分析(SSA)方法进行去噪处理;最后,将去噪后的信号进行重构,从而降低坐标序列中的多路径误差。实验结果表明,与单独使用CEEMDAN或CEEMDAN-WP组合方法相比,基于CEEMDAN-WP-SSA构建的恒星日滤波模型在随机噪声抑制和多路径误差消除方面具有明显优势,东(E)、北(N)、高(U)三个方向的定位精度均有所提升,充分验证了该方法的有效性与优越性。 展开更多
