The karst cavern reservoirs are easiest to identify on seismic reflection data. The prediction, exploration, and development of this type of reservoir require theoretical research on seismic wave fields reflected from complex inhomogeneous media. We compute synthetic seismic sections for fluidfilled cavern reservoirs of various heights and widths using random media models and inhomogeneous media elastic wave equations. Results indicate that even caverns significantly smaller than 1/ 4 wavelength are detectible on conventional band-width seismic sections as diffractions migrated into bead-type events. Diffraction amplitude is a function of cavern height and width. We introduce a width-amplitude factor which can be used to calculate the diffraction amplitude of a cavern with a limited width from the diffraction amplitude computed for an infinitely wide cavern.展开更多

This paper discusses the limitations of Synthetic Aperture Radar (SAR) images in wave field analysis. It is found that the wave field analysis is affected by the gray value distribution of image and the relationship between satellite travel and wave propagation directions. Since human activities and coastal engineering are performed in nearshore areas, some issues are discussed for nearshore SAR image analysis. Several case studies show that the wave parameters estimated from nearshore SAR images are quite different from in situ measurements, suggesting that the wave information derived from nearshore SAR images cannot appropriately represent the wave characteristics. Efficiency of deep ocean mixing was associated with the energy balance of the radiating IWF into an interior of the ocean in the vicinity of a sloping bottom topography. Since waves are generated not only at the fundamental frequency but also at all of its harmonics ωn = nω less than buoyancy frequency N and greater than Coriolis frequency f, our analysis includes, in general, an infinite number of discrete internal wave modes n satisfying the dispersion relationship for internal waves. However, since we are interested only in the radiating part of the field, the mode numbers are limited. Due to multiple singularities of order two caused by resonance in the vicinity of critical slope, the energy is visualized in Lδ -norm with δ > 2. Research results include the visualization of the effects of the continental slope and the Earth’s rotation on resulting energy in the vicinity of the slope.展开更多

The Kelvin–Voigt equations are employed to calculate the sound field created by focusing a 256-element planar phased array through a monkey skull with the time-reversal method. Mode conversions between compressional and shear waves exist in the skull. Therefore, the wave field separation method is introduced to calculate the contributions of the two waves to the acoustic intensity and the heat source, respectively. The Pennes equation is used to depict the temperature field induced by ultrasound. Five computational models with the same incident angle of 0?and different distances from the focus for the skull and three computational models at different incident angles and the same distance from the focus for the skull are studied. Numerical results indicate that for all computational models, the acoustic intensity at the focus with mode conversions is 12.05%less than that without mode conversions on average. For the temperature rise, this percentage is 12.02%. Besides, an underestimation of both the acoustic intensity and the temperature rise in the skull tends to occur if mode conversions are ignored. However, if the incident angle exceeds 30?, the rules of the over-and under-estimation may be reversed. Moreover, shear waves contribute 20.54% of the acoustic intensity and 20.74% of the temperature rise in the skull on average for all computational models. The percentage of the temperature rise in the skull from shear waves declines with the increase of the duration of the ultrasound.展开更多

In this study we model the seismic wavefield records in the undulating seafloor when there is both a slight change and significant change in seafloor topography to analyze its influence on the seismic reflection data and migration imaging profiles. We compare and analyze the wave field records collected at the same point on the original and modified velocity models, and the cross-bonding resulting migration imaging profiles. The results show that whether the seismic reflection data collection is performed along the direction of the survey line or against the direction of the survey line, slight changes in the seafloor topography have little effect on the wave field records and the migration profile, while significant changes in the seafloor topography have great effect on both the wave field records and migration profile.展开更多

文摘The purpose of the research was to investigate two-dimensional modeling of efficiency of mixing, resulting from the reflection of a linear internal wave field (IWF) off a continental slope. Research results include the visualization of the effects of the continental slope and the Earth’s rotation on resulting energy in the vicinity of the slope.

This area is typical monsoon area. In the period of monsoon, the directions of wind, sea wave and swell are roughly consistent. Sea wave of northeasterly is always prevailing in equatorial zone. The monsoon in winter is stronger than in summer, correspondingly, average wave height is higher, and the frequencies of high sea and heavy swell are also bigger. Both of North Indian Ocean and adjacent sea area is also monsoon area, but characteristic is opposite. This paper provides specific data of wind field and wave field and variaton for ship navigation, operation and scientific experiment in the NW Pacific Ocean.

文摘One of the problems experienced in marine geophysical exploration is that the layered features in the migration imaging profile are blurred and the seismic energy reflected is weaker in the middle or lower parts. The results show that whether the seismic reflection data collection is performed along the direction of the survey line or against the direction of the survey line, slight changes in the seafloor topography have little effect on the wave field records and the migration profile, while significant changes in the seafloor topography have great effect on both the wave field records and migration profile.
文摘We investigate one-dimensional position microscopy of a three-level atom moving through a stationary wave region under the condition of electromagnetically induced transparency. The precise position information of an atom is observed on the resonance absorption and dispersion distribution spectrum of a weak probe field.Single and multiple localization peaks are observed in specific directions of the corresponding wave numbers and phase of the standing wave fields. The strength of space-independent Rabi frequency reduces the position uncertainty in the localized peaks without disturbing the probability of the atom.In a hot atomic medium the localized probability of an atom is reduced which depends upon the temperature of that medium. Our results provide useful applications in the development of laser cooling, atom nanolithography and Bose-Einstein condensation.

文摘Line integral convolution(LIC)is a useful visualization technique for a vector field. However, the output image produced by LIC has many problems in a marine vector field. We focus on the visual quality improvement when LIC is applied in the ocean steady and unsteady flow field in the following aspects. When a white noise is used as the input in a steady flow field, interpolation is used to turn the discrete white noise into continuous white noise to solve the problem of discontinuity.The"cross"high-pass filtering is used to enhance the textures of streamlines to be more concentrated and continuity strengthened for each streamline. When a sparse noise is used as the input in a steady flow field,we change the directions of background sparse noise according to the directions of vector field to make the streamlines clearer and brighter. In addition,we provide a random initial phase for every streamline to avoid the pulsation effect during animation. The velocities of vector field are encoded in the speed of the same length streamlines so that the running speed of streamlines can express flow rate.Meanwhile,to solve the problem of obvious boundaries when stitching image,we change the streamline tracking constraints. When a white noise is used as an input in an unsteady flow field, double value scattering is used to enhance the contrast of streamlines;moreover,the"cross"high-pass filtering is also adopt instead of two-dimensional high-pass filtering. Finally,we apply the above methods to a case of the surface wave field in typhoon condition. Our experimental results show that applying the methods can generate high-quality wave images and animations. Therefore,it is helpful to understand and study waves in typhoon condition to avoid the potential harm of the waves to people's lives and property.

文摘An analysis is conducted on the hydrodynamic response law of a single module maritime airport, considering the atmospheric variables of the wind and wave field. The analysis is based on hydroelastic theory and focuses on the typhoon-driven very large floating structures(VLFS)configuration of the maritime airport. The findings indicate that the proposed method enables efficient information exchange between the fluid and structure domains through the coupling interface. The displacement of the maritime airport affected by the typhoon’s wave field is mostly determined by the direction of the flow. The wave loads acting on the floating body also influence the wave profile of the irregular wave and the deformation of the floating body. The von Mises stress distribution is not significant in all parts of the floating body.
文摘In this study we theoretically demonstrate ultrahigh-resolution two-dimensional atomic localization within a three-levelλ-type atomic medium via superposition of asymmetric and symmetric standing wave fields. Our analysis provides an understanding of the precise spatial localization of atomic positions at the atomic level, utilizing advanced theoretical approaches and principles of quantum mechanics. The dynamical behavior of a three-level atomic system is thoroughly analyzed using the density matrix formalism within the realm of quantum mechanics.A theoretical approach is constructed to describe the interaction between the system and external fields, specifically a control field and a probe field. The absorption spectrum of the probe field is thoroughly examined to clarify the spatial localization of the atom within the proposed configuration.A theoretical investigation found that symmetric and asymmetric superposition phenomena significantly influence the localized peaks within a two-dimensional spatial domain.Specifically, the emergence of one and two sharp localized peaks was observed within a one-wavelength domain. We observed notable influences of the intensity of the control field, probe field detuning and decay rates on atomic localization.Ultimately,we have achieved an unprecedented level of ultrahigh resolution and precision in localizing an atom within an area smaller thanλ/35×λ/35.These findings hold promise for potential applications in fields such as Bose-Einstein condensation, nanolithography, laser cooling, trapping of neutral atoms and the measurement of center-of-mass wave functions.

文摘Imaging the wave velocity field surrounding a borehole while drilling is a promising and urgently needed approach for extending the exploration range of the borehole point. This paper develops a drilling process detection(DPD)system consisting of a multifunctional sensor and a pilot geophone installed at the top of the drilling rod, geophones at the tunnel face,a laser rangefinder, and an onsite computer.A weighted adjoint-state first arrival travel time tomography method is used to invert the P-wave velocity field of rock mass while borehole drilling.A field experiment in the ongoing construction of a deep buried tunnel in southwestern China demonstrated the DPD system and the tomography method.Time-frequency analysis of typical borehole drilling detection data shows that the impact drilling source is a pulse-like seismic exploration wavelet.A velocity field of the rock mass in a triangular area defined by the borehole trajectory and geophone receiving line can be obtained. Both the borehole core and optical image validate the inverted P-wave velocity field.A numerical simulation of a checkerboard benchmark model is used to test the tomography method. The rapid convergence of the misfits and consistent agreement between the inverted and observed travel times validate the P-wave velocity imaging.
