To establish valid indexes for streetscape visual evaluation, this paper proposed 6 quantitative indexes to refl ect objective visual properties of streetscapes based on the image processing concept, and took real digital images of 10 pedestrian streets to verify the validity. Mathematical analysis of subjective and objective indexes showed that street width/height ratio, street width, sky openness index, visual entropy and color richness index could refl ect objective visual properties of streetscape(correlation coeffi cient r > 0.633, signifi cance P < 0.05); visual complexity accounted for the highest percentage in the evaluation conclusion(22.6%), so it was the most signifi cant infl uence factor. 展开更多

Quantitative CT Indexes and CT Visual Score in Interstitial Lung Abnormality as Indicators of Concurrent Lung Cancer

Background: The associations between the severity of interstitial lung disease and the stage and histologic type of concurrent lung cancer remain unknown. Purpose: To evaluate whether the severity of interstitial lung abnormality (ILA), as indicated by quantitative computed tomographic (CT) indexes and CT visual score, was correlated with the stage and histological type of concurrent lung cancer. Materials and Methods: Twenty-eight patients with surgically diagnosed lung cancer and ILA on CT were enrolled in this retrospective study. The subjects were allocated to one of three groups by histological type: adenocarcinoma group (13 subjects);squamous cell carcinoma group (10 subjects);and the other histological diagnosis group (5 subjects). Two independent observers evaluated the CT findings to determine the CT visual score, and the kurtosis and skewness of CT-based density histograms were determined. The relationships between severity of ILA and the pathological stage and histological type of concurrent lung cancer were evaluated. Results: There were no significant differences in the CT visual scores and quantitative indexes among the three groups. CT visual score was significantly negatively correlated with pathological stage (r = &#8722;0.43, P = 0.025). Conclusion: Patients can have only mild ILA on visual scoring but advanced lung cancer. Therefore, the frequency of follow-up examination should not be based on the severity of ILA on CT. 展开更多

Recently,convolutional neural network(CNN)-based visual inspec-tion has been developed to detect defects on building surfaces automatically.The CNN model demonstrates remarkable accuracy in image data analysis;however,the predicted results have uncertainty in providing accurate informa-tion to users because of the“black box”problem in the deep learning model.Therefore,this study proposes a visual explanation method to overcome the uncertainty limitation of CNN-based defect identification.The visual repre-sentative gradient-weights class activation mapping(Grad-CAM)method is adopted to provide visually explainable information.A visualizing evaluation index is proposed to quantitatively analyze visual representations;this index reflects a rough estimate of the concordance rate between the visualized heat map and intended defects.In addition,an ablation study,adopting three-branch combinations with the VGG16,is implemented to identify perfor-mance variations by visualizing predicted results.Experiments reveal that the proposed model,combined with hybrid pooling,batch normalization,and multi-attention modules,achieves the best performance with an accuracy of 97.77%,corresponding to an improvement of 2.49%compared with the baseline model.Consequently,this study demonstrates that reliable results from an automatic defect classification model can be provided to an inspector through the visual representation of the predicted results using CNN models. 展开更多

目前,生物遗传学领域在区分复杂性状的研究上正面临着巨大挑战,许多方法都被用来应对这项挑战,其中分子标记法,QTL作图法和序列分析法等就是用来区分控制复杂性状基因的主要应对策略。测定生物复杂性状对于研究生物多样性具有重要意义,... 目前,生物遗传学领域在区分复杂性状的研究上正面临着巨大挑战,许多方法都被用来应对这项挑战,其中分子标记法,QTL作图法和序列分析法等就是用来区分控制复杂性状基因的主要应对策略。测定生物复杂性状对于研究生物多样性具有重要意义,也是进一步研究基因控制性状作用机理的重要途径,但是,现有的方法并不成熟也不完善,因此给有效区分复杂性状带来了一定难度。近年来,由于生长曲线能够有效地描述复杂性状,基于生长曲线来区分复杂性状的方法是目前常用的方式,Functional Mapping(FM)就是其中具有代表性的一种方法。在过去的十年间,FM方法是复杂性状区分效果最好的,但不能有效处理非单调类型的生长曲线。Earliness index(E-index)方法的问世,解决了非单调类型的曲线不能有效识别的难题,它能够将任意生物类型的复杂性状发展过程描述为生长曲线并加以区分。基于E-index方法的原理,开发了一套Eindex Application(EIA)分析工具,该工具中集成了E-index方法,利用生物数据可视化技术动态绘制生长曲线,包含数据获取、数据处理和结果输出等功能,为遗传工作者的研究提供了良好平台。仿真实验的结果证明了EIA分析工具具有高效、实时和准确的性能,是区分复杂性状的有力工具。 展开更多

Recent studies on no-reference image quality assessment (NR-IQA) methods usually learn to evaluate the image quality by regressing from human subjective scores of the training samples. This study presented an NR-IQA method based on the basic image visual parameters without using human scored image databases in learning. We demonstrated that these features comprised the most basic characteristics for constructing an image and influencing the visual quality of an image. In this paper, the definitions, computational method, and relationships among these visual metrics were described. We subsequently proposed a no-reference assessment function, which was referred to as a visual parameter measurement index (VPMI), based on the integration of these visual metrics to assess image quality. It is established that the maximum of VPMI corresponds to the best quality of the color image. We verified this method using the popular assessment database—image quality assessment database (LIVE), and the results indicated that the proposed method matched better with the subjective assessment of human vision. Compared with other image quality assessment models, it is highly competitive. VPMI has low computational complexity, which makes it promising to implement in real-time image assessment systems. 展开更多

Correlation between visual function and refractive,topographic, pachymetric and aberrometric data in eyes with keratoconus

AIMTo analyze the relationship between two visual functions and refractive, topographic, pachymetric and aberrometric indicators in eyes with keratoconus.METHODSCorrected distance visual acuity (CDVA), and letter contrast sensitivity (CS) were correlated with refraction, corneal topography, pachymetry, and total corneal wavefront data prospectively in 71 eyes with keratoconus. The topographic indices assessed were simulated keratometry for the flattest and steepest meridians (SimK1 and SimK2), posterior steeper K (Ks), elevation value in best-fit sphere (BFS) maps, squared eccentricity (&#x00404;<sup>2</sup>), aspheric asymmetric index (AAI), pachymetry, thickness progression index (TPI), the amount of pachymetric decentralization (APD), and GalileiTM-keratoconus indices.RESULTSThe mean CDVA (expressed as logMAR) were 0.25&#x000b1;0.21. The mean CS was 1.25&#x000b1;0.46. The spherical refraction correlated well with CDVA (r=-0.526, P&#x0003c;0.001). From topographic indices, SRI correlated with CS (r=-0.695), and IAI with CS (r=-0.672) (P&#x0003c;0.001 for all). Root mean square (RMS) was 4.3&#x000b1;1.81 &#x000b5;m, spherical aberration (SA) was -0.4&#x000b1;0.67 &#x000b5;m, vertical and horizontal coma were -2.1&#x000b1;1.47 and -0.4&#x000b1;0.72 &#x000b5;m. All wavefront data (except horizontal coma), AAI, &#x00404;<sup>2</sup> and maximum BFS correlated significantly with the visual function (P&#x02264;0.001 for all).CONCLUSIONIn this study, CS is more affected than CDVA as a visual function. The quantity and quality of vision is significantly correlated with well-known and new topographic indices. There is not a significant correlation between visual function and pachymetric parameters. The significantly correlated indices can be used in staging keratoconus and to follow the outcome of a treatment. 展开更多

糖尿病合并白内障患者术后综合性视觉功能指数影响因素分析

目的分析糖尿病合并白内障患者行超声乳化吸除术后综合性视觉功能指数(VF-14)评分情况及影响因素。方法选取2022年1月至2024年9月行超声乳化吸除术的糖尿病合并白内障患者112例为观察组,另选取无糖尿病的老年性白内障患者120例为对照组... 目的分析糖尿病合并白内障患者行超声乳化吸除术后综合性视觉功能指数(VF-14)评分情况及影响因素。方法选取2022年1月至2024年9月行超声乳化吸除术的糖尿病合并白内障患者112例为观察组,另选取无糖尿病的老年性白内障患者120例为对照组,比较两组术后1个月VF-14评分分布情况,并分析最佳矫正视力(BCVA)与VF-14评分的相关性。再根据VF-14评分将观察组分为视觉功能良好组(>90分)35例与视觉功能不良组(≤90分)77例,多因素logistic回归分析糖尿病合并白内障术后VF-14的影响因素。结果术后1个月,观察组VF-14评分>90分比例及VF-14评分低于对照组,BCVA高于对照组(P<0.05)。观察组和对照组BCVA与VF-14评分均呈负相关(P<0.01)。年龄、合并糖尿病视网膜病变、糖尿病病程、晶状体核硬度分级、术前BCVA、术前黄斑中心凹厚度、术前糖化血红蛋白、手术时间是糖尿病合并白内障患者术后VF-14的独立影响因素(P<0.05)。结论糖尿病合并白内障患者术后视觉功能恢复较无糖尿病的老年性白内障更差,且受患者的年龄、合并糖尿病视网膜病变、糖尿病病程、晶状体核硬度分级、术前BCVA、术前黄斑中心凹厚度、术前糖化血红蛋白及手术时间的共同影响。 展开更多

The Relationship between Visual Satisfaction and Water Clarity and Quality Management in Tourism Fishing Ports

Visual satisfaction of the tourists with a water body is strongly influenced by water clarity, which is in turn influenced by a number of water quality parameters. Visual satisfaction thus stands to benefit from having a water quality management tool that results in better water clarity. A Clarity Suitability Index of Water Quality (CSIWQ), derived from clarity suitability curves of selected water quality parameters, can allow estimation of optimal values for these parameters, while ensuring high visual satisfaction among tourists. The present study used sampling and survey methodologies to investigate water clarity and quality at five tourism fishing ports;simultaneously, tourists’ visual satisfaction with a water body was assessed through a questionnaire based on their perceptions. The relationship between tourists’ visual satisfaction and water clarity was found to be positive and strong, with water clarity having predictive power of 74.2%. The study showed that DO, BOD, TP, and SS were the most critical parameters for water clarity. A continued product approach of CSIWQ was found to be most appropriate for describing the relationship between water clarity and these four parameters. This enabled a CSIWQ Index value to be calculated. With a CSIWQ value of 0.6, water clarity would be more than 2.08 m, and tourists would experience very high satisfaction. CSI curves showed that DO would preferably be 9.0 mg/L, and BOD, TP, and SS less than 0.5 mg/L, 0.12 mg/L, and 45.0 mg/L, respectively. The model thus produced valuable insights for assessing and improving water quality and ensuring high levels of visual satisfaction among tourists in tourism fishing ports. This model identified only four parameters but could be improved by ensuring that other water quality parameters were included, to encourage an increase in the number of tourists and to include monitoring of more pollutant sources. 展开更多

Foods with a low glycemic index provide lower postprandial glucose spikes and induce satiety. The objective of this study was to assess the Glycemic index (GI) without milk and Glycemic response (GR) with milk of two different flavours of a plant-based supplement which is high in protein and fibre, along with a subjective assessment of satiety. Methods: Fifteen overweight/obese subjects aged 18 - 45 years were recruited. After overnight fasting, blood samples were drawn at 5 mins before food consumption (-5), 0, 15, 30, 45, 60, 90 and 120 minutes. Participants underwent 3 days of reference food testing and 1 day of test food in random order with 2 days of wash-out period. The GI was assessed using a validated protocol recognized by FAO/WHO, as well as the guidelines by the International Dietary Carbohydrate Task Force for GI Methodology. The satiety index was measured using the Visual Analog Scale (VAS). The dietary intake of the subjects was measured by 24-hour dietary recall. The Incremental Area Under the Curve (IAUC) was calculated using the trapezoid rule. Results: Both the flavours of the supplement had low GI & GR. The GI and GR of Flavour 1 were 27.3 ± 4.8 & 16.4 ± 2.6 (Mean ± SEM) respectively. For Flavour 2 the GI and GR were 36.7 ± 4.4 & 25.7 ± 2.3 (Mean ± SEM). For Flavour 1, 60% and for flavour 2 66.7% of subjects reported feeling hungry only after 3 hours, showing good satiety. Conclusion: The plant-based high fibre high protein supplement in both flavours showed a low glycemic index and hence may be useful to include in the diets to reduce the postprandial glycemic response and could improve satiety. 展开更多

北京城市森林林分结构对视觉形态质量的影响

【目的】探索北京城区林分的木本植物组成、林分物理结构对城市森林景观视觉质量的影响规律,拟进一步揭示林分结构与森林视觉质量关系的作用机制。【方法】在北京市六环内选取落在8条扇形样带内、2 km×2 km地理网格中面积为30 m... 【目的】探索北京城区林分的木本植物组成、林分物理结构对城市森林景观视觉质量的影响规律,拟进一步揭示林分结构与森林视觉质量关系的作用机制。【方法】在北京市六环内选取落在8条扇形样带内、2 km×2 km地理网格中面积为30 m×30 m的145块样地。通过主成分分析构建林分物理结构指数和物种组成结构指数,通过熵权法构建视觉形态性状指数,分析林分结构指标、结构指数对视觉形态性状指标、视觉形态性状指数的影响。【结果】树冠圆满度随着胸径组成多样性和树高组成多样性的增加而显著提高,随着树木空间占有度的提高而显著降低;偏冠度显著受平均树高、胸高断面积、Berger-Parker树种组成优势度的负影响,并显著受Margalef物种丰富度指数、Shannon-Wiener多样性指数和Pielou均匀度指数的正影响,且随林分水平结构指数的提高而提高;平均树高较大或物种组成复杂度较高的林分,树冠伸展度显著降低;视觉形态性状指数随着树木空间占有度的提高而显著降低,与林分物种组成复杂度、物种组成优势度无明显关系。【结论】北京市六环内城市森林的视觉质量受林分结构复杂性的影响。其中,林分视觉形态性状指标显著受林分物理结构指标的影响,并在一定程度上受林分物种组成结构指标的影响,而林分的视觉形态性状指数主要受林分树木空间占有度的直接影响。林分物种组成结构指数对视觉形态性状指数的影响较低,很大程度上是因为林分物种组成结构指标与林分物理结构指标显著相关,即林分物种组成结构对城市森林视觉质量的影响是通过林分物理结构的影响而间接实现的。 展开更多

“材料科学基础”知识可视化教学与量化评价

在教育数字化转型背景下,“材料科学基础”课程广泛采用线上线下混合教学模式。在该模式下,学生普遍暴露出浅层学习的问题。为了应对这一挑战,该文设计了多种知识可视化教学模式,创新性采用“积绩差”指标(GPA与课程成绩排名差值)评估... 在教育数字化转型背景下,“材料科学基础”课程广泛采用线上线下混合教学模式。在该模式下,学生普遍暴露出浅层学习的问题。为了应对这一挑战,该文设计了多种知识可视化教学模式,创新性采用“积绩差”指标(GPA与课程成绩排名差值)评估教学效果。以简单混合教学模式为参照,教学评价结果显示:接受高阶混合式教学模式的学生期末考试积绩差均值为2.5,而接受翻转课堂教学模式的学生期末考试积绩差均值达10.9。在翻转课堂模式下,学生的知识迁移能力显著提升,可归因于学生可视化学习参与度的提高。学生可视化学习参与度随激励机制强度的提升呈阶梯增长趋势,可视化学习参与度每提升1次/人,积绩差增加约0.94。积绩差因双源数据,可有效剥离学生选课因素的干扰,因此可作为教学评价的平行对比量化指标。 展开更多
