Each joint of hydraulic drive quadruped robot is driven by the hydraulic drive unit(HDU),and the contacting between the robot foot end and the ground is complex and variable,which increases the difficulty of force control inevitably.In the recent years,although many scholars researched some control methods such as disturbance rejection control,parameter self-adaptive control,impedance control and so on,to improve the force control performance of HDU,the robustness of the force control still needs improving.Therefore,how to simulate the complex and variable load characteristics of the environment structure and how to ensure HDU having excellent force control performance with the complex and variable load characteristics are key issues to be solved in this paper.The force control system mathematic model of HDU is established by the mechanism modeling method,and the theoretical models of a novel force control compensation method and a load characteristics simulation method under different environment structures are derived,considering the dynamic characteristics of the load stiffness and the load damping under different environment structures.Then,simulation effects of the variable load stiffness and load damping under the step and sinusoidal load force are analyzed experimentally on the HDU force control performance test platform,which provides the foundation for the force control compensation experiment research.In addition,the optimized PID control parameters are designed to make the HDU have better force control performance with suitable load stiffness and load damping,under which the force control compensation method is introduced,and the robustness of the force control system with several constant load characteristics and the variable load characteristics respectively are comparatively analyzed by experiment.The research results indicate that if the load characteristics are known,the force control compensation method presented in this paper has positive compensation effects on the load characteristics variation,i.e.,this method decreases the effects of the load characteristics variation on the force control performance and enhances the force control system robustness with the constant PID parameters,thereby,the online PID parameters tuning control method which is complex needs not be adopted.All the above research provides theoretical and experimental foundation for the force control method of the quadruped robot joints with high robustness. 展开更多

In order to effectively control the working state of the gyroscope in drive mode, the drive characteristics of the micro electromechanical system (MEMS) gyroscope are analyzed in principle. A novel drive circuit for the MEMS gyroscope in digital closed-loop control is proposed, which utilizes a digital phase-locked loop (PLL) in frequency control and an automatic gain control (AGC) method in amplitude control. A digital processing circuit with a field programmable gate array (FPGA) is designed and the experiments are carried out. The results indicate that when the temperature changes, the drive frequency can automatically track the resonant frequency of gyroscope in drive mode and that of the oscillating amplitude holds at a set value. And at room temperature, the relative deviation of the drive frequency is 0.624 ×10^-6 and the oscillating amplitude is 8.0 ×10^-6, which are 0. 094% and 18. 39% of the analog control program, respectively. Therefore, the control solution of the digital PLL in frequency and the AGC in amplitude is feasible. 展开更多

Based on the belt conveyor of main inclined shaft in Chengzhuang coal mine, the driving torque, driving power and starting-speed characteristic of each electric motor are studied and measured when multi-roller variable-frequency drive (power distribution 2∶1) is used. The working principle is introduced firstly, based on which the method development considering different system topology designs, backup solutions and redundancy mechanisms are analyzed in details. In the end the proposed method is applied to two cases to show the reliability performance of system with variable frequency drives. A diverse range of light and waves,spanning from near-infrared to ultraviolet,alongside ultrasound,have proven effective in propelling nanomotors.This review encapsulates the advancements in nanomotor research propelled by waves of varying frequencies.It delves into the driving mechanisms and control methodologies of different nanomotor types,emphasizing the role of frequency.Nanomotors can be classified based on the frequency of the driving wave,encompassing ultraviolet light-driven,visible light-driven,near-infrared-driven,and ultrasounddriven variants.Each category corresponds to distinct propulsion mechanisms,including momentum transfer,photothermal effects,self-electrophoresis,and acoustic radiation force.Notably,visible light and near-infrared radiation predominantly propel momentum transfer nanomotors,while photothermal nanomotors are chiefly active within the infrared spectrum.Ultraviolet light drives most self-electrophoretic nanomotors,while ultrasound-driven nanomotors respond to acoustic radiation force.Furthermore,precise control over nanomotor speed and direction is achievable by adjusting the frequency of incident waves within a narrow range,modulating wave absorption rates.Lastly,this paper explores microwave nanomotors,an area yet to be reported,shedding light on potential driving mechanisms. 展开更多

In industrial drives, electric motors are extensively utilized to impart motion control and induction motors are the most familiar drive at present due to its extensive performance characteristic similar with that of DC drives. Precise control of drives is the main attribute in industries to optimize the performance and to increase its production rate. In motion control, the major considerations are the torque and speed ripples. Design of controllers has become increasingly complex to such systems for better management of energy and raw materials to attain optimal performance. Meager parameter appraisal results are unsuitable, leading to unstable operation. The rapid intensification of digital computer revolutionizes to practice precise control and allows implementation of advanced control strategy to extremely multifaceted systems. To solve complex control problems, model predictive control is an authoritative scheme, which exploits an explicit model of the process to be controlled. This paper presents a predictive control strategy by a neural network predictive controller based single phase induction motor drive to minimize the speed and torque ripples. The proposed method exhibits better performance than the conventional controller and validity of the proposed method is verified by the simulation results using MATLAB software. 展开更多

The widely used cascade speed and torque controllers have a limited control performance in most high power applications due to the low switching frequency of power electronic converters and the convenience to avoid speed overshoots and oscillations for lifetime considerations. Model Predictive Direct Current Control (MPDCC) leads to an increase of torque control performance taking into account the discrete nature of inverters but temporary offsets and poor responses to load torque variations are still issues in speed control. A load torque estimator is proposed in this paper in order to further improve dynamic behavior. It compensates the load torque influence on the speed control setting a feed forward torque reference value. The benefits are twice; the speed controller reaches the speed reference value without offsets which would need to be compensated by an integrator and a better response to load torque variations is obtained since they are detected and compensated leading to small speed variations. Moreover, the influence of pararneter errors and disturbances has been analyzed and limited so that they play a minor role in operation. 展开更多

This study proposes and experimentally validates an optimal integrated system to control the automotive continuously variable transmission(CVT)by Model Predictive Control(MPC)to achieve its expected transmission efficiency range.The control system framework consists of top and bottom layers.In the top layer,a driving intention recognition system is designed on the basis of fuzzy control strategy to determine the relationship between the driver intention and CVT target ratio at the corresponding time.In the bottom layer,a new slip state dynamic equation is obtained considering slip characteristics and its related constraints,and a clamping force bench is established.Innovatively,a joint controller based on model predictive control(MPC)is designed taking internal combustion engine torque and slip between the metal belt and pulley as optimization dual targets.A cycle is attained by solving the optimization target to achieve optimum engine torque and the input slip in real-time.Moreover,the new controller provides good robustness.Finally,performance is tested by actual CVT vehicles.Results show that compared with traditional control,the proposed control improves vehicle transmission efficiency by approximately 9.12%-9.35%with high accuracy. 展开更多

Resistance Torque Based Variable Duty-Cycle Control Method for a Stage Ⅱ Compressor

The resistance torque of a piston stage II com- pressor generates strenuous fluctuations in a rotational period, and this can lead to negative influences on the working performance of the compressor. To restrain the strenuous fluctuations in the piston stage II compressor, a variable duty-cycle control method based on the resistance torque is proposed. A dynamic model of a stage II com- pressor is set up, and the resistance torque and other characteristic parameters are acquired as the control tar- gets. Then, a variable duty-cycle control method is applied to track the resistance torque, thereby improving the working performance of the compressor. Simulated results show that the compressor, driven by the proposed method, requires lower current, while the rotating speed and the output torque remain comparable to the traditional vari- able-frequency control methods. A variable duty-cycle control system is developed, and the experimental results prove that the proposed method can help reduce the specific power, input power, and working noise of the compressor to 0.97 kW.m-3.min-1, 0.09 kW and 3.10 dB, respectively, under the same conditions of discharge pressure of 2.00 MPa and a discharge volume of 0.095 m3/rain. The proposed variable duty-cycle control method tracks the resistance torque dynamically, and improves the working performance of a Stage II Compressor. The pro- posed variable duty-cycle control method can be applied to other compressors, and can provide theoretical guidance for the compressor. 展开更多

In many cases, the cutting method is usually adopted for the efficient machining of non-circular body of revolution and a feed drive is needed to actuate the cutting tool to and fro according to input signal wave. The feed drive for the purpose is required of fast response and accurate positioning. Both of these are highly dependent upon the actuating elements. Several schemes of actuation are specially interested. One is the introduction of piezoelectric actuation. However, the tiny working stroke of the piezoelectric material limits its application to a narrow range. Another is the application of electro-magnetic actuator. An innovative feed drive actuated by the stepper motor is introduced for the purpose. For a conventional step operating mode, a stepper motor can only be controlled to position at finite discrete points. Thus, when it is applied as an actuator of the feed drive, it is very difficult to maintain high accuracy and fast response. To eliminate quantitative error, the stepper motor is controlled under the continual mode. It is achieved with a micro-controller system and a built-in control algorithm program, called "tracking algorithm". Within each sampling cycle, the micro-controller will sample the input signal and the time interval will be divided into two parts according to the relative position between two adjacent stepping points. The phase coils correspondent to the two adjacent stepping points are energized respectively with calculated time duration. In the way, the motion of the tool frame smoothly tracks the input signal. This paper presents modeling and identification of frequency response of the proposed drive. The dynamic response of the feed drive is manly decided by the natural frequency of the stepper motor. For the conventional small-size stepper motors, the natural frequency is within the range 200~400 Hz. Experimental results show that the stepper motor actuated tool frame can smoothly keep in track of the input signal wave under "tracking control". The bandwidth of frequency of the feed drive exceeds 310 Hz. 展开更多

To establish the algorithm of SAT-TMD system with the wavelet transform(WT),the modal mass participation ratio is proposed to distinguish if the high-rising structure has the characteristic of closely distributed frequencies.A time varying analytical model of high-rising structure such as TV-tower with the SAT-TMD is developed.The proposed new idea is to use WT to identify the dominant frequency of structural response in a segment time,and track its variation as a function of time to retune the SAT-TMD.The effectiveness of SAT-TMD is investigated and it is more robust to change in building stiffness and damping than that of the TMD with a fixed frequency corresponding to a fixed mode frequency of the building.It is proved that SAT-TMD is particularly effective in reducing the response even when the building stiffness is changed by ±15%;whereas the TMD loses its effectiveness under such building stiffness variations. 展开更多

To further research the response of the tearing mode(TM)to dynamic resonant magnetic perturbation(DRMP)on the J-TEXT tokamak,a modified series resonant inverter power supply(MSRIPS)with a function of discrete variable frequency is designed for DRMP coils in this study.The MSRIPS is an AC–DC–AC converter,including a phase-controlled rectifier,an LC filter,an insulated gate bipolar transistor(IGBT)full bridge,a matching transformer,three resonant capacitors with different capacitance values,and three corresponding silicon controlled rectifier(SCR)switches.The function of discrete variable frequency is realized by switching over different resonant capacitors with corresponding SCR switches while matching the corresponding driving frequency of the IGBT full bridge.A detailed switching strategy of the SCR switch is put forward to obtain sinusoidal current waveform and realize current waveform smooth transition during frequency conversion.In addition,a resistor and thyristor bleeder is designed to protect the SCR switch from overvoltage.Manufacturing of the MSRIPS is completed,and the MSRIPS equipment can output current with an amplitude of 1.5 kA when its working frequency jumps among different frequencies.Moreover,the current waveform is sinusoidal and can smoothly transition during frequency conversion.Furthermore,the transition time when the current amplitude rises from zero to a steady state is less than 2 ms during frequency conversion.By using the MSRIPS,the expected discrete variable frequency DRMP is generated,and the phenomenon of the TM being locked to the discrete variable frequency DRMP is observed on the J-TEXT tokamak. 展开更多

Conventional vacuum control in a milking system is accomplished by using a vacuum pump, sized for the maximum air flows into the milking system, running at a full speed. The difference between the pump capacity and the necessary flow of air is compensated by allowing air to enter the system through a regulator. The solution presented in this paper uses a VFD (variable frequency driver) in order to drive the vacuum pump at a controlled speed, so that the air removed equals the air entering the milking system. The VFD technology is able to adjust the rate of air removal from the milking system, by changing the speed of the vacuum pump motor. The VFD is controlled by a computer using a virtual instrument in order to emulate a PID (proportion integration differentiation) regulator. The tests aimed to evaluate the vacuum regulator characteristics and vacuum stability. A statistical analysis of the experimental results was performed and it showed that there was a significant difference between the experimental results obtained for the two methods of vacuum regulation (with vacuum regulator and VFD controller respectively). The experimental results proved that the used of the VFD controller led to a higher vacuum stability in terms of the error between the set vacuum value and the achieved values. 展开更多

The control system of a motor comists of a drive unit and a digital controller, possessing two functions of tbe analog dosed-loop control of motor velocity and the digit dosed-loop control of motor position. Then it discusses the closed-loop control of current in the three phases of the motor and the control of the lead angle of the motor. Finally, it suggests a design of the control circuits of motor current, velocity and position. The closed loop control of the motor position is achieved by a digit cotroller which consists of a microprocessor and other electronic components. The integration of large-scale renewable energy introduces frequency instability challenges due to inherent intermittency.While doubly-fed pumped storage units(DFPSUs)offer frequency regulation potential in pumping mode,conventional strategies fail to address hydraulic-mechanical coupling dynamics and operational constraints,limiting their effectiveness.This paper presents an innovative primary frequency control strategy for double-fed pumped storage units(DFPSUs)operating in pumpingmode,integrating an adaptive parameter calculation method.This method is constrained by operational speed and power limits,addressing key performance factors.A dynamic model that incorporates the reversible pump-turbine characteristics is developed to translate frequency deviations into coordinated adjustments in speed and power during pumping operations.The research thoroughly analyzes the influence of control parameters on the frequency response dynamics.Additionally,the paper introduces a deep reinforcement learning(DRL)-based optimization framework,which enables real-time tuning of control parameters in response to changing rotor speed and frequency states.This method strategicallymanages the utilization of kinetic energy while ensuring compliance with operational safety constraints.The effectiveness of the proposed strategy is validated through simulation studies conducted on a four-machine,two-area DFPSU system.These studies demonstrate the strategy’s potential for improving frequency regulation performance under a variety of operating conditions,highlighting its effectiveness in optimizing energy storage and frequency control in power grids. 展开更多

针对泵马达变速恒频系统在液压系统参数慢时变和外部参数扰动下的控制难题,提出一种结合反馈线性化与径向基函数(Radial basis function,RBF)神经网络自适应的复合控制策略。首先,建立泵马达系统的非线性数学模型,通过反馈线性化理论处... 针对泵马达变速恒频系统在液压系统参数慢时变和外部参数扰动下的控制难题,提出一种结合反馈线性化与径向基函数(Radial basis function,RBF)神经网络自适应的复合控制策略。首先,建立泵马达系统的非线性数学模型,通过反馈线性化理论处理系统非线性特性,将其转化为线性形式;其次,利用RBF神经网络在线逼近系统中的未知函数项,并设计自适应算法实时调整神经网络权值矩阵及控制参数,以应对参数慢时变特性。将研究的泵马达闭式变速恒频系统应用于风力发电场景,仿真结果表明,在外部风速扰动和内部参数变化的共同作用下,该控制策略能够有效维持变量马达转速在并网国家标准(1500±6)r/min范围内,保证风电机组顺利并网。最后,通过搭建24 kW液压型风电机组半物理仿真试验平台,对所提出的变速恒频控制策略进行了试验验证。试验结果进一步证实了理论分析和仿真研究的正确性,即所研究的控制策略在实际应用中具有良好的抗扰动性能和控制精度,为发电装备中的泵马达变速恒频系统的稳定、精准运行和高效能量捕获提供了有力的技术支撑。 展开更多

Electromagnetic interference (EMI) causes electromechanical damage to the motors and degrades the reliability of variable-frequency drive (VFD) systems. Unlike fundamental frequency components in motor drive systems, high-frequency EMI noise, coupled with the parasitic parameters of the trough system, are difficult to analyze and reduce. In this article, EMI modeling techniques for different function units in a VFD system, including induction motors, motor bearings, and rectifierinverters, are reviewed and evaluated in terms of applied frequency range, model parameterization, and model accuracy. The EMI models for the motors are categorized based on modeling techniques and model topologies. Motor bearing and shaft models are also reviewed, and techniques that are used to eliminate bearing current are evaluated. Modeling techniques for conventional rectifierinverter systems are also summarized. EMI noise suppres- sion techniques, including passive filter, Wheatstone bridge balance, active filter, and optimized modulation, are reviewed and compared based on the VFD system models. 展开更多
