BACKGROUND Rectal cancer requires accurate preoperative assessment of T stage and differentiation grade for treatment planning.Traditional imaging and serum markers have limitations in diagnostic accuracy.AIM To evaluate the predictive value of dynamic contrast-enhanced-magnetic resonance imaging(DCE-MRI)parameters and serum biomarkers[carbohydrate antigen(CA)19-9,CA125]for determining T stage and differentiation grade in rectal cancer.METHODS We conducted a retrospective review of clinical data from 126 patients who were pathologically diagnosed with rectal cancer between January 2021 to June 2024.Each patient underwent DCE-MRI scans and serum tests for CA19-9 and CA125.Receiver operating characteristic curves were utilized to assess the diagnostic value of DCE-MRI parameters,including volume transfer constant(Ktrans),rate constant(Kep),and volume fraction of extravascular extracellular space(Ve),as well as serum biomarkers for staging and grading rectal cancer.The DeLong test algorithm was employed to evaluate differences in diagnostic performance among the various indicators.RESULTS There were statistically higher levels of Ktrans,Ve,CA19-9,and CA125 serum concentrations of patients with advanced T stages and on poorly differentiated tumors than that in patients with low stages and moderate to high differentiation(P<0.05).Combined use of Ktrans and Ve for T stage diagnosis showed an area under the curve(AUC)of 0.892[95%confidence interval(CI):0.832-0.952],which increased to 0.923(95%CI:0.865-0.981)when combined with serum biomarkers.For grades differentiation,the combined DCE-MRI parameters had an AUC of 0.883(95%CI:0.821-0.945),which rose to 0.912(95%CI:0.855-0.969)when combined with serum markers.According to the Delong test,the combined diagnostic method performed better than a single diagnostic method(P<0.05).CONCLUSION The combined application of DCE-MRI functional parameters and serum tumor markers can significantly improve the diagnostic accuracy of T staging and differentiation degree of rectal cancer,providing a new approach to improve the preoperative assessment system of rectal cancer.This combined diagnostic model has important clinical application value,but further validation is needed through large-scale multicenter studies. 展开更多

With the advent of the digital economy,there has been a rapid proliferation of small-scale Internet data centers(SIDCs).By leveraging their spatiotemporal load regulation potential through data workload balancing,aggregated SIDCs have emerged as promising demand response(DR)resources for future power distribution systems.This paper presents an innovative framework for assessing capacity value(CV)by aggregating SIDCs participating in DR programs(SIDC-DR).Initially,we delineate the concept of CV tailored for aggregated SIDC scenarios and establish a metric for the assessment.Considering the effects of the data load dynamics,equipment constraints,and user behavior,we developed a sophisticated DR model for aggregated SIDCs using a data network aggregation method.Unlike existing studies,the proposed model captures the uncertainties associated with end tenant decisions to opt into an SIDC-DR program by utilizing a novel uncertainty modeling approach called Z-number formulation.This approach accounts for both the uncertainty in user participation intentions and the reliability of basic information during the DR process,enabling high-resolution profiling of the SIDC-DR potential in the CV evaluation.Simulation results from numerical studies conducted on a modified IEEE-33 node distribution system confirmed the effectiveness of the proposed approach and highlighted the potential benefits of SIDC-DR utilization in the efficient operation of future power systems. 展开更多

Enforcing initial and boundary conditions(I/BCs)poses challenges in physics-informed neural networks(PINNs).Several PINN studies have gained significant achievements in developing techniques for imposing BCs in static problems;however,the simultaneous enforcement of I/BCs in dynamic problems remains challenging.To overcome this limitation,a novel approach called decoupled physics-informed neural network(d PINN)is proposed in this work.The d PINN operates based on the core idea of converting a partial differential equation(PDE)to a system of ordinary differential equations(ODEs)via the space-time decoupled formulation.To this end,the latent solution is expressed in the form of a linear combination of approximation functions and coefficients,where approximation functions are admissible and coefficients are unknowns of time that must be solved.Subsequently,the system of ODEs is obtained by implementing the weighted-residual form of the original PDE over the spatial domain.A multi-network structure is used to parameterize the set of coefficient functions,and the loss function of d PINN is established based on minimizing the residuals of the gained ODEs.In this scheme,the decoupled formulation leads to the independent handling of I/BCs.Accordingly,the BCs are automatically satisfied based on suitable selections of admissible functions.Meanwhile,the original ICs are replaced by the Galerkin form of the ICs concerning unknown coefficients,and the neural network(NN)outputs are modified to satisfy the gained ICs.Several benchmark problems involving different types of PDEs and I/BCs are used to demonstrate the superior performance of d PINN compared with regular PINN in terms of solution accuracy and computational cost. 展开更多

Impact of Land Use Change on Ecosystem Services Values in Danjiangkou Reservoir Area,China in the Context of National Water Network Project Construction

Investigating the ecological impact of land use change in the context of the construction of national water network project is crucial,as it is imperative for achieving the sustainable development goals of the national water network and guaranteeing regional ecological stability.Using the Danjiangkou Reservoir Area(DRA),China as the study area,this paper first examined the spatiotemporal dynamics of natural landscape patterns and ecosystem service values(ESV)in the DRA from 2000 to 2018 and then investigated the spatial clustering characteristics of the ESV using spatial statistical analysis tools.Finally,the patch-generating land use simulation(PLUS)model was used to simulate the natural landscape and future changes in the ESV of the DRA from 2018 to 2028 under four different development scenarios:business as usual(BAU),economic development(ED),ecological protection(EP),and shoreline protection(SP).The results show that:during 2000-2018,the construction of water facilities had a significant impact on regional land use/land cover(LULC)change,with a 24830 ha increase in watershed area.ESV exhibited an increasing trend,with a significant and growing spatial clustering effect.The transformation of farmland to water bodies led to accelerated ESV growth,while the transformation of forest land to farmland led to a decrease in the ESV.Normalized difference vegetation index(NDVI)had the strongest effect on the ESV.ESV exhibited a continuous increase from 2018 to 2028 under all the simulation scenarios.The EP scenario had the greatest increase in ESV,while the ED scenario had the smallest increase.The findings suggest that projected land use patterns under different scenarios have varied impacts on ecosystem services(ESs)and that the management and planning of the DRA should balance social,economic,ecological,and security benefits.nomic,ecological,and security benefits. 展开更多

Services may be investigated from many perspectives. They encapsulate over 65% of global business, yet many gaps in the services knowledge base exist – particularly from areas including information technology, operational, customer targeting, and services provision. This research investigates an emerging and truly disruptive business scenario – the service value network, from a marketing, an operations and services approach. The service value network is defined as the flexible, dynamic, delivery of a service, or product, by a business’s coordinated value chains (supply chains and demand chains working in harmony), such that a value-adding, specific, service solution is effectively, and efficiently, delivered to the individual customer. The ‘physical and virtual service value network customer – business encounter model’ is developed. Impediments to the development of a service value networks are investigated. Eight key areas related to website customer encounters are offered as investigation areas. The customer ‘touch-points’ across the virtual service encounter offers a raft of new research possibilities and possible new pathways to competitive advantage. Approaches to measure service network encounter effectors are explained. Current and future areas of business research are described. The results showed that the adsorption and desorption amounts of NH4+ by purple soils increased with the increase of NH4+ concentration, regardless of soil pH values; the largest adsorption and desorption amounts of NH4+ by purple soil at pH 6.0 were 10.3 and 7.96 mg/g, respectively; the largest adsorp- tion and desorption amounts of NH4+ by purple soil at pH 7.2 were 12.8 and 4.62 mg/g, respectively; the largest adsorption and desorption amounts of NH4+ by purple soil at pH 8.0 were 13.5 and 2.23 mg/g, respectively. The isothermal adsorption ki- netics of NH4+ by purple soils fits the Freundlich equation best (R〉0.95). This study shows that the adsorption of NH4+ by purple soils with different pH values is multi- molecular layer uneven surface adsorption. 展开更多

Modeling a business to match its customer perceived (and customer desired) outcomes, remains an on-going task. This paper considers shows how a service value networks (SVNs) approach may be engaged to model, and deliver, understanding of the front-end business and its direct engagement with its immediate (or front-end) customers. These front-end customers may be either: (1) its off-line, in-store customers - engaging directly with the business sales staff (or representative), or-(2) its on-line, virtual customers - engaging with the business via internet or remote access. In this situation, both the business, and the customer draw upon their respective viewpoints, and both sides influence the interaction. External to these business and customer influences are additional factors that capture the immediate and broader global effects - termed environmental effects. These three business-customer engagement areas of influence are captured by a SVN SEM approach. Without a business-customer encounter of some kind the likelihood of a services business, and a prospecting customer, successfully engaging in an exchange process is reduced. This exchange may be a physical, and/or services exchange, and/or an information and/or ideas exchange. To the business, this encounter is, in effect, a trade, and as a result, the business targets acquiring an economic exchange that will ultimately deliver a net positive economic outcome. To the customer, external and internal information feeds, servicing, perceived value, and satisfaction, are key encounter drivers. SVNs offers a new way to understand the business-customer encounter, and to then utilize this acquired knowledge to either: (1) build a strategic management model, or (2) reengineer its business networks, and to then create a re-positioned, more customer-aligned business operation - one that is capable of delivering win - win, competitive business-customer solutions. 展开更多

An analysis of a selection experiment was used to assess the impact of various animal model struc- tures on REML estimates of variance components. The analyses were carried out based on 162 d body mass (BM) of 1 287 animals from 21 paternal half-sib groups of Fenneropenaeus chinensis. Estimated breeding values (EBV) of BM of all individuals were estimated using eight statistical models (A, AB, ABC, ABDC, ABMFC, ABMDC, ABFDC and ABMFDC) and BLUP (best linear unbiased prediction). These models were designed involving factors such as sex, spawn date as fixed effects, maternal genetic effects, full-sib family effects as random effects, mean BM of families at tagging and age at recording (covariate). The results demonstrate the importance of correct interpretation of effects in the data set, particularly those that can influence resemblance between relatives. The data structure and the particular model that was applied markedly influenced the magnitude of variance component estimates. Models based on few effects obtained upward biased estimates of additive genetic variance. The accuracy of genetic parameters and breeding value es- timated by ABFDC model was higher than other models. The results imply that additive genetic direct value, full-sib family effects, and covariance effects besides sex and spawn date as fixed effects were very important for estimating genetic parameters and breeding value of body mass. This model had a heritability estimate of 162 d BM of 0.44. The comparison of the efficiency of selection based on breeding values or phenotypic value revealed great difference: average breeding value of the best 24 families selected by the 162 d BM breeding value and phenotype were 0.577 g and 0.366 g, respectively, representing a 36.57% higher efficiency in the former. In conclusion, selection based on breeding value was more effective than selection based on phenotypic value. Our results indicate that effects influencing the magnitude of estimates should be taken into account when estimating heritability and breeding values for BM. 展开更多

In this paper, bifunctional Fe3O4@Gd203:Eu3+ core-shell nanoparticles with both magnetic and fluorescent properties were synthesized through a urea homogeneous precipitation (UHP) method. Particular emphasis was placed on investigating the influence of the solution pH value on the photoluminescence of the core-shell nanocomposites. It showed that the samples treated at the solution of pH=3.0 had the highest luminescence due to the enhanced crystallinity and size tmiformity of nanoparticles. The Fe3O4@Gd2O3:Eu3+ nanocomposites exhibited an almost spherical shape with a mean diameter of 60 nm, and had strong red emissions of Eu3+ at 612 nm as well as good magnetization with the saturation magnetization of 1.29 emu/g. It thus indicated that the core-shell nanocomposites investigated has great potential in biomedical applications. 展开更多

Reactor network synthesis is one of the key parts of chemical process synthesis. In this study, a geometric approach to reactor network synthesis for waste reduction is presented. The bases of the approach are potential environment impact (PEI) rate-law expression, PEI balance and the instantaneous value of environmental indexes. The instantaneous value can be derived using the PEI balance, PEI rate-law expression and the environmental indexes. The optimal reactor networks with the minimum generation of potential environment impact are geometrically derived by comparing with areas of the corresponding regions. From the case study involving complex reactions, the approach does not involve solving the complicated mathematical problem and can avoid the dimension limitation in the attainable region approach. 展开更多

Purpose:With the availability and utilization of Inter-Country Input-Output(ICIO)tables,it is possible to construct quantitative indices to assess its impact on the Global Value Chain(GVC).For the sake of visualization,ICIO networks with tremendous low-weight edges are too dense to show the substantial structure.These redundant edges,inevitably make the network data full of noise and eventually exert negative effects on Social Network Analysis(SNA).In this case,we need a method to filter such edges and obtain a sparser network with only the meaningful connections.Design/methodology/approach:In this paper,we propose two parameterless pruning algorithms from the global and local perspectives respectively,then the performance of them is examined using the ICIO table from different databases.Findings:The Searching Paths(SP)method extracts the strongest association paths from the global perspective,while Filtering Edges(FE)method captures the key links according to the local weight ratio.The results show that the FE method can basically include the SP method and become the best solution for the ICIO networks.Research limitations:There are still two limitations in this research.One is that the computational complexity may increase rapidly while processing the large-scale networks,so the proposed method should be further improved.The other is that much more empirical networks should be introduced to testify the scientificity and practicability of our methodology.Practical implications:The network pruning methods we proposed will promote the analysis of the ICIO network,in terms of community detection,link prediction,and spatial econometrics,etc.Also,they can be applied to many other complex networks with similar characteristics.Originality/value:This paper improves the existing research from two aspects,namely,considering the heterogeneity of weights and avoiding the interference of parameters.Therefore,it provides a new idea for the research of network backbone extraction. 展开更多

By using smoothing function, we reformulate the AVE as a differentiable unconstrained optimization and we establish a steep descent method to solve it. Cross-border investment is essential for western China’s globalization.Global value chain(GVC)forms cross-border investment networks between industries in western China and overseas cities.Focusing on GVC,this study uses the social network analysis method,entropy method,multi-index comprehensive evaluation method,and quadratic assignment procedure analysis method to examine the characteristics and influencing factors of the urban networks of research and development(R&D),production,and sales formed as a result of the overseas investments of listed manufacturing companies in western China.Results showed that the three types of investment networks involved multiple industry types and multiple central cities with differentiated diversity and multicentrality.The R&D urban network’s leading sub-industries were the mechanical equipment and instruments,medicine and biological products,and metal and nonmetal industries.The destination cities were mostly those home to educational and scientific research centers.The production urban network’s leading sub-industries were the mechanical equipment,instrument,and food and beverage industries.The destination cities were mostly regional central cities in developing countries.The sales urban network’s leading sub-industries were the mechanical equipment and instrument,metal and nonmetal,and petrochemical and plastics industries.The destination cities were numerous and scattered.In addition,the R&D urban network easily formed specialized clusters,core nodes easily controlled the production urban network,and individual nodes did not easily control the sales urban network.Technological and economic system advantages greatly impacted the three network types.Considering the different influencing factors,this study suggests optimizing the institutional investment environment to narrow the institutional gap,adjusting and optimizing the investment layout to expand overseas markets,and increasing R&D funds to stimulate technological progress and overseas investments in western China. 展开更多
