Unsteady aerodynamic characteristics at high angles of attack are of great importance to the design and development of advanced fighter aircraft, which are characterized by post-stall maneuverability with multiple Deg...Unsteady aerodynamic characteristics at high angles of attack are of great importance to the design and development of advanced fighter aircraft, which are characterized by post-stall maneuverability with multiple Degrees-of-Freedom(multi-DOF) and complex flow field structure.In this paper, a special kind of cable-driven parallel mechanism is firstly utilized as a new suspension method to conduct unsteady dynamic wind tunnel tests at high angles of attack, thereby providing experimental aerodynamic data. These tests include a wide range of multi-DOF coupled oscillatory motions with various amplitudes and frequencies. Then, for aerodynamic modeling and analysis, a novel data-driven Feature-Level Attention Recurrent neural network(FLAR) is proposed. This model incorporates a specially designed feature-level attention module that focuses on the state variables affecting the aerodynamic coefficients, thereby enhancing the physical interpretability of the aerodynamic model. Subsequently, spin maneuver simulations, using a mathematical model as the baseline, are conducted to validate the effectiveness of the FLAR. Finally, the results on wind tunnel data reveal that the FLAR accurately predicts aerodynamic coefficients, and observations through the visualization of attention scores identify the key state variables that affect the aerodynamic coefficients. It is concluded that the proposed FLAR enhances the interpretability of the aerodynamic model while achieving good prediction accuracy and generalization capability for multi-DOF coupling motion at high angles of attack.展开更多
Modeling of unsteady aerodynamic loads at high angles of attack using a small amount of experimental or simulation data to construct predictive models for unknown states can greatly improve the efficiency of aircraft ...Modeling of unsteady aerodynamic loads at high angles of attack using a small amount of experimental or simulation data to construct predictive models for unknown states can greatly improve the efficiency of aircraft unsteady aerodynamic design and flight dynamics analysis.In this paper,aiming at the problems of poor generalization of traditional aerodynamic models and intelligent models,an intelligent aerodynamic modeling method based on gated neural units is proposed.The time memory characteristics of the gated neural unit is fully utilized,thus the nonlinear flow field characterization ability of the learning and training process is enhanced,and the generalization ability of the whole prediction model is improved.The prediction and verification of the model are carried out under the maneuvering flight condition of NACA0015 airfoil.The results show that the model has good adaptability.In the interpolation prediction,the maximum prediction error of the lift and drag coefficients and the moment coefficient does not exceed 10%,which can basically represent the variation characteristics of the entire flow field.In the construction of extrapolation models,the training model based on the strong nonlinear data has good accuracy for weak nonlinear prediction.Furthermore,the error is larger,even exceeding 20%,which indicates that the extrapolation and generalization capabilities need to be further optimized by integrating physical models.Compared with the conventional state space equation model,the proposed method can improve the extrapolation accuracy and efficiency by 78%and 60%,respectively,which demonstrates the applied potential of this method in aerodynamic modeling.展开更多

Support vector machines (SVMs) based on statistical learning theory provide a novel tool for nonlinear system modeling. The work presented here examines the feasibility of applying SVMs to high angle.-of-attack unsteady aerodynamic modeling field. Mainly, after a review of SVMs, several issues associated with unsteady aerodynamic modeling by use of SVMs are discussed in detail, such as sele, ction of input variables, selection of output variables and determination of SVM parameters. The least squares SVM (LS-SVM) models are set up from certain dynamic wind tunnel test data of a delta wing and an aircraft configuration, and then used to predict the aerodynamic responses in other tests. Actuator Disks(AD)can provide characterizations of rotor wakes while reducing computational expense associated with modeling the fully resolved blades.This work presents an unsteady actuator disk method based on surfa...Actuator Disks(AD)can provide characterizations of rotor wakes while reducing computational expense associated with modeling the fully resolved blades.This work presents an unsteady actuator disk method based on surface circulation distribution combined with empirical data,blade element theory and rotor momentum theory.The nonuniform circulation distribution accounts for 3 D blade load effects,and in particular,tip loses.Numerical simulations were conducted for the isolated pressure sensitive paint model rotor blade in hover and forward flight using the HMB3 CFD solver of Glasgow University.Validation of CFD results in comparison with published numerical data was performed in hover,for a range of blade pitch angles using fully turbulent flow and the k-x SST model.In forward flight,the vortex structures predicted using the unsteady actuator disk model showed configurations similar to the ones obtained using fully resolved rotor blades.Despite the reduced grid cells number,the CFD results for AD models captured well the main vortical structures around the rotor disk in comparison to the fully resolved cases.展开更多
Common,unsteady aerodynamic modeling methods usually use wind tunnel test data from forced vibration tests to predict stable hysteresis loop.However,these methods ignore the initial unstable process of entering the hy...Common,unsteady aerodynamic modeling methods usually use wind tunnel test data from forced vibration tests to predict stable hysteresis loop.However,these methods ignore the initial unstable process of entering the hysteresis loop that exists in the actual maneuvering process of the aircraft.Here,an excitation input suitable for nonlinear system identification is introduced to model unsteady aerodynamic forces with any motion in the amplitude and frequency ranges based on the Least Squares Support Vector Machines(LS-SVMs).In the selection of the input form,avoiding the use of reduced frequency as a parameter makes the model more universal.After model training is completed,the method is applied to predict the lift coefficient,drag coefficient and pitching moment coefficient of the RAE2822 airfoil,in sine and sweep motions under the conditions of plunging and pitching at Mach number 0.8.The predicted results of the initial unstable process and the final stable process are in close agreement with the Computational Fluid Dynamics(CFD)data,demonstrating the feasibility of the model for nonlinear unsteady aerodynamics modeling and the effectiveness of the input design approach.展开更多
Based on Recursive Radial Basis Function(RRBF)neural network,the Reduced Order Model(ROM)of compressor cascade was established to meet the urgent demand of highly efficient prediction of unsteady aerodynamics performa...Based on Recursive Radial Basis Function(RRBF)neural network,the Reduced Order Model(ROM)of compressor cascade was established to meet the urgent demand of highly efficient prediction of unsteady aerodynamics performance of turbomachinery.One novel ROM called ASA-RRBF model based on Adaptive Simulated Annealing(ASA)algorithm was developed to enhance the generalization ability of the unsteady ROM.The ROM was verified by predicting the unsteady aerodynamics performance of a highly-loaded compressor cascade.The results show that the RRBF model has higher accuracy in identification of the dimensionless total pressure and dimensionless static pressure of compressor cascade under nonlinear and unsteady conditions,and the model behaves higher stability and computational efficiency.However,for the strong nonlinear characteristics of aerodynamic parameters,the RRBF model presents lower accuracy.Additionally,the RRBF model predicts with a large error in the identification of aerodynamic parameters under linear and unsteady conditions.For ASA-RRBF,by introducing a small-amplitude and highfrequency sinusoidal signal as validation sample,the width of the basis function of the RRBF model is optimized to improve the generalization ability of the ROM under linear unsteady conditions.Besides,this model improves the predicting accuracy of dimensionless static pressure which has strong nonlinear characteristics.The ASA-RRBF model has higher prediction accuracy than RRBF model without significantly increasing the total time consumption.This novel model can predict the linear hysteresis of dimensionless static pressure happened in the harmonic condition,but it cannot accurately predict the beat frequency of dimensionless total pressure.展开更多

After the formation of leaky junctions due to the mitosis of endothelial cell of the arterial wall, the macromolecular transport happens surrounding the leaky cells. The arterial wall was divided into four layers: the endothelial layer, the subendothelial intima, the internal elastic lamina and the media for the convenience of research. The time-dependent concentration growth, the effect of the shape of endothelial cell and the effect of physiological parameters were analyzed. The analytical solution of velocity field and pressure field of water flow across the arterial wall were obtained; and concentration distribution of three macromolecules; LDL, HRP and Albumin, were calculated with numerical simulation method. The new theory predicts, the maximum and distribution areas of time dependent concentration with round-shape endothelial cell are both larger than that with ellipse-shape endothelial cell. The model also predicts the concentration growth is much alike that of a two-dimensional model and it shows that the concentration reaches its peak at the leaky junction where atherosclerotic formation frequently occurs and falls down rapidly in a limited area beginning from its earlier-time growth to the state when macromolecular transfer approaches steadily. These predictions of the new model are in agreement with the experimental observation for the growth and concentration distribution of LDL and Albumin.展开更多
In view of engineering application, it is practicable to decompose the aerodynamics into three components: the static aerodynamics, the aerodynamic increment due to steady rotations, and the aerodynamic increment due...In view of engineering application, it is practicable to decompose the aerodynamics into three components: the static aerodynamics, the aerodynamic increment due to steady rotations, and the aerodynamic increment due to unsteady separated and vortical flow. The first and the second components can be presented in conventional forms, while the third is described using a one-order differential equation and a radial-basis-function (RBF) network. For an aircraft configuration, the mathematical models of 6- component aerodynamic coefficients are set up from the wind tunnel test data of pitch, yaw, roll, and coupled yawroll large-amplitude oscillations. The flight dynamics of an aircraft is studied by the bifurcation analysis technique in the case of quasi-steady aerodynamics and unsteady aerodynam- ics, respectively. The results show that: (1) unsteady aerodynamics has no effect upon the existence of trim points, but affects their stability; (2) unsteady aerodynamics has great effects upon the existence, stability, and amplitudes of periodic solutions; and (3) unsteady aerodynamics changes the stable regions of trim points obviously. Furthermore, the dynamic responses of the aircraft to elevator deflections are inspected. It is shown that the unsteady aerodynamics is beneficial to dynamic stability for the present aircraft. A numerical method based on the Nakamura scheme has been employed to obtain the temperature and velocity distributions which are depicted graphically. The perturbations are created by a constant pressure gradient along the plates in addition to the non-torsional oscillations of the upper plate. The flow in the clean fluid region is governed by Navier-Stoke’s equations while in the porous bed the equations are based on Darcy-Lapwood model. The exact solutions of velocity in the clean fluid and the porous medium consist of steady state and transient state. The time required for the transient state to decay is evaluated in detail and ultimate quasi-steady state solution has been derived analytically and also its behaviour is computationally discussed with reference to different flow parameters. The shear stresses on the boundaries and the mass flux are also obtained analytically and their behaviour is computationally discussed.展开更多

The characteristics of the horizontal velocity field and wall shear stress are analyzed and discussed. Pade approximants and Taylor polynomials are also found for velocity profile and are used to make the maximum error as small as possible. The graphs of the error for the Pade approximation and Taylor approximation are drawn and discussed. A finite element model is proposed to solve the governing equations of momentum and mass conservation. Turbulent flows around the hydrofoil are described by the Prandtl-Kolmogorov model. The cavitation phenomenon is modeled through a mixture model involving liquid and vapor flows and the Zwart-Gerber-Belamri (ZGB) model is considered to evaluate the transport of the water vapor fraction. The variational finite element model formulation includes the mixing of the characteristic method and the finite element. Also, at the open sides of the channel flow, an open boundary condition is imposed. Numerical experiments are performed for cavitation numbers 0.8 and 0.4. The presented model predicts the essential features of unsteady cavitating flows, the generation of vapor cavities, the time-dependent oscillations of the variables and the presence of vortical flow structures associated to vapor volume concentrations during the shedding process.</span>展开更多
This paper is devoted to application of the Reduced-Order Model(ROM)based on Volterra series to prediction of lift and drag forces due to airfoil periodic translation in transonic flow region.When there is large ampli...This paper is devoted to application of the Reduced-Order Model(ROM)based on Volterra series to prediction of lift and drag forces due to airfoil periodic translation in transonic flow region.When there is large amplitude oscillation of the relative Mach number,as appeared in helicopter rotor movement in forward flight,the conventional Volterra ROM is found to be unsatisfactory.To cover such applications,a matched Volterra ROM,inspired from previous multistep nonlinear indicial response method based on Duhamel integration,is thus considered,in which the step motions are defined inside a number of equal intervals with both positive and negative step motions to match the airfoil forward and backward movement,and the kernel functions are constructed independently at each interval.It shows that,at least for the translation movement considered,this matched Volterra ROM greatly improves the accuracy of prediction.Moreover,the matched Volterra ROM,with the total number of step motions and thus the computational cost close to those of the conventional Volterra ROM method,has the additional advantage that the same set of kernels can match various translation motions with different starting conditions so the kernels can be predesigned without knowing the specific motion of airfoil.展开更多

文摘Actuator Disks(AD)can provide characterizations of rotor wakes while reducing computational expense associated with modeling the fully resolved blades.This work presents an unsteady actuator disk method based on surface circulation distribution combined with empirical data,blade element theory and rotor momentum theory.The nonuniform circulation distribution accounts for 3 D blade load effects,and in particular,tip loses.Numerical simulations were conducted for the isolated pressure sensitive paint model rotor blade in hover and forward flight using the HMB3 CFD solver of Glasgow University.Validation of CFD results in comparison with published numerical data was performed in hover,for a range of blade pitch angles using fully turbulent flow and the k-x SST model.In forward flight,the vortex structures predicted using the unsteady actuator disk model showed configurations similar to the ones obtained using fully resolved rotor blades.Despite the reduced grid cells number,the CFD results for AD models captured well the main vortical structures around the rotor disk in comparison to the fully resolved cases.
文摘Common,unsteady aerodynamic modeling methods usually use wind tunnel test data from forced vibration tests to predict stable hysteresis loop.However,these methods ignore the initial unstable process of entering the hysteresis loop that exists in the actual maneuvering process of the aircraft.Here,an excitation input suitable for nonlinear system identification is introduced to model unsteady aerodynamic forces with any motion in the amplitude and frequency ranges based on the Least Squares Support Vector Machines(LS-SVMs).In the selection of the input form,avoiding the use of reduced frequency as a parameter makes the model more universal.After model training is completed,the method is applied to predict the lift coefficient,drag coefficient and pitching moment coefficient of the RAE2822 airfoil,in sine and sweep motions under the conditions of plunging and pitching at Mach number 0.8.The predicted results of the initial unstable process and the final stable process are in close agreement with the Computational Fluid Dynamics(CFD)data,demonstrating the feasibility of the model for nonlinear unsteady aerodynamics modeling and the effectiveness of the input design approach.

文摘Based on Recursive Radial Basis Function(RRBF)neural network,the Reduced Order Model(ROM)of compressor cascade was established to meet the urgent demand of highly efficient prediction of unsteady aerodynamics performance of turbomachinery.One novel ROM called ASA-RRBF model based on Adaptive Simulated Annealing(ASA)algorithm was developed to enhance the generalization ability of the unsteady ROM.The ROM was verified by predicting the unsteady aerodynamics performance of a highly-loaded compressor cascade.The results show that the RRBF model has higher accuracy in identification of the dimensionless total pressure and dimensionless static pressure of compressor cascade under nonlinear and unsteady conditions,and the model behaves higher stability and computational efficiency.However,for the strong nonlinear characteristics of aerodynamic parameters,the RRBF model presents lower accuracy.Additionally,the RRBF model predicts with a large error in the identification of aerodynamic parameters under linear and unsteady conditions.For ASA-RRBF,by introducing a small-amplitude and highfrequency sinusoidal signal as validation sample,the width of the basis function of the RRBF model is optimized to improve the generalization ability of the ROM under linear unsteady conditions.Besides,this model improves the predicting accuracy of dimensionless static pressure which has strong nonlinear characteristics.The ASA-RRBF model has higher prediction accuracy than RRBF model without significantly increasing the total time consumption.This novel model can predict the linear hysteresis of dimensionless static pressure happened in the harmonic condition,but it cannot accurately predict the beat frequency of dimensionless total pressure.

After the formation of leaky junctions due to the mitosis of endothelial cell of the arterial wall, the macromolecular transport happens surrounding the leaky cells. The arterial wall was divided into four layers: the endothelial layer, the subendothelial intima, the internal elastic lamina and the media for the convenience of research. The time-dependent concentration growth, the effect of the shape of endothelial cell and the effect of physiological parameters were analyzed. The analytical solution of velocity field and pressure field of water flow across the arterial wall were obtained; and concentration distribution of three macromolecules; LDL, HRP and Albumin, were calculated with numerical simulation method. The new theory predicts, the maximum and distribution areas of time dependent concentration with round-shape endothelial cell are both larger than that with ellipse-shape endothelial cell. The model also predicts the concentration growth is much alike that of a two-dimensional model and it shows that the concentration reaches its peak at the leaky junction where atherosclerotic formation frequently occurs and falls down rapidly in a limited area beginning from its earlier-time growth to the state when macromolecular transfer approaches steadily. These predictions of the new model are in agreement with the experimental observation for the growth and concentration distribution of LDL and Albumin.
文摘In view of engineering application, it is practicable to decompose the aerodynamics into three components: the static aerodynamics, the aerodynamic increment due to steady rotations, and the aerodynamic increment due to unsteady separated and vortical flow. The first and the second components can be presented in conventional forms, while the third is described using a one-order differential equation and a radial-basis-function (RBF) network. For an aircraft configuration, the mathematical models of 6- component aerodynamic coefficients are set up from the wind tunnel test data of pitch, yaw, roll, and coupled yawroll large-amplitude oscillations. The flight dynamics of an aircraft is studied by the bifurcation analysis technique in the case of quasi-steady aerodynamics and unsteady aerodynam- ics, respectively. The results show that: (1) unsteady aerodynamics has no effect upon the existence of trim points, but affects their stability; (2) unsteady aerodynamics has great effects upon the existence, stability, and amplitudes of periodic solutions; and (3) unsteady aerodynamics changes the stable regions of trim points obviously. Furthermore, the dynamic responses of the aircraft to elevator deflections are inspected. It is shown that the unsteady aerodynamics is beneficial to dynamic stability for the present aircraft. 文摘A water balance has a significant impact on the overall system performance in proton exchange membrane fuel cell.An actual fuel cell application has a dynamic electrical load which means also dynamic electrical current.Therefore,since this electrical current is known,the water production from the fuel cell reaction is also able to be predicted.As long as the fuel cell water transportation model is provided,the present liquid water inside the porous medium is also able to be modeled.A model of the liquid water saturation level in a fuel cell in unsteady load condition was proposed.This model is a series of the water transportation model of water saturation level for the final output of proton exchange membrane(PEM) fuel cell to predict the flooding or drying of PEM fuel cell.The simulation of vehicle fuel cell in different dynamic load profiles and different inlet air conditions was done using this model.The simulation result shows that PEM fuel cell with different dynamic load profiles has different liquid water saturation level profiles.This means that a dynamic load fuel cell requires also a dynamic input air humidification.
文摘The temperature field in unsteady phase greatly affects the quality of friction plug welding(FPW).An analytical model is put forward to correlate the process parameters and the temperature field in unsteady phase of FPW.Applying the von Mises criterion for plastic deformation and linearizing the heat flux,the model is achieved by Laplace transformation.The predicated peak temperature and peak time agree with the experiment data,with errors of about 4%and 8%,of AA7075-T6 FPW.

文摘The unsteady flow of viscoelastic fluid in a cylindrical pipe was investigated using the fractional Maxwell model. Two special cases of unsteady pipe flow were expressed. The first is start-up flow, and the second is oscillating flow. The exact solution of start-up flow under a constant pressure gradient was obtained by using the theories of Laplace transform and Fourier-Bessel series for fractional derivatives. The exact solution of oscillating flow was obtained by utilizing the separation of variables.

In addition io the traditional continuity,momentunm and energy. equations, the dispersion and refraction relations were includedin the governing equalions. Moreover, the effects of lateral shears, wind, radiation andbottom stresses were analysed in the governing equalions. Therefore, we expect thatthis model may more completely and exactly reflect the law of ware-currentinteraction. In part (II) we will adopt the selective lumping two-step explicit finite elementmethod to solve the model, and some examples will be presented.
文摘In this paper, a numerical simulation has been carried out on unsteady hydromagnetic free convection near a moving infinite flat plate in a rotating medium. The temperatures involved are assumed to be very high so that the radiative heat transfer is significant, which renders the problem highly non-linear even with the assumption of a differential approximation for the radiative heat flux. A numerical method based on the Nakamura scheme has been employed to obtain the temperature and velocity distributions which are depicted graphically. The effects of the different parameters entering into the problem have been discussed extensively.
文摘We discussed the unsteady flow of an incompressible viscous fluid in a rotating parallel plate channel bounded on one side by a porous bed under the influence of a uniform transverse magnetic field taking hall current into account. The perturbations are created by a constant pressure gradient along the plates in addition to the non-torsional oscillations of the upper plate. The flow in the clean fluid region is governed by Navier-Stoke’s equations while in the porous bed the equations are based on Darcy-Lapwood model. The exact solutions of velocity in the clean fluid and the porous medium consist of steady state and transient state. The time required for the transient state to decay is evaluated in detail and ultimate quasi-steady state solution has been derived analytically and also its behaviour is computationally discussed with reference to different flow parameters. The shear stresses on the boundaries and the mass flux are also obtained analytically and their behaviour is computationally discussed.

文摘The actuator disc method is an engineering approach to reduce computer resources in computational fluid dynamics(CFD)simulations of helicopter rotors or aeroplane propellers.Implementation of an actuator disc based on rotor circulation distribution allows for approximations to be made while reproducing the blade tip vortices.Radial circulation distributions can be formulated according to the nonuniform Heyson-Katzoff“typical load”in hover.In forward flight,the nonuniform disk models include“azimuthal”sin and cos terms to reproduce the blade cyclic motion.The azimuthal circulation distribution for a forward flight mode corresponds to trimmed conditions for the disk rolling and pitching moments.The amplitude of the cos harmonic is analysed and compared here with presented in references data and CFD simulations results.
文摘This work is concerned with the influence of uniform suction or injection on unsteady incompressible Couette flow for the Eyring-Powell model. The resulting unsteady problem for horizontal velocity field is solved by means of homotopy analysis method (HAM). The characteristics of the horizontal velocity field and wall shear stress are analyzed and discussed. Pade approximants and Taylor polynomials are also found for velocity profile and are used to make the maximum error as small as possible. The graphs of the error for the Pade approximation and Taylor approximation are drawn and discussed. Convergence of the series solution is also discussed with the help of h-curve and interval of convergence is also found.
文摘<span style="font-family:Verdana;">The present study deals with the unsteady dynamics of cavitation around the NACA 0015 hydrofoil in a channel. A finite element model is proposed to solve the governing equations of momentum and mass conservation. Turbulent flows around the hydrofoil are described by the Prandtl-Kolmogorov model. The cavitation phenomenon is modeled through a mixture model involving liquid and vapor flows and the Zwart-Gerber-Belamri (ZGB) model is considered to evaluate the transport of the water vapor fraction. The variational finite element model formulation includes the mixing of the characteristic method and the finite element. Also, at the open sides of the channel flow, an open boundary condition is imposed. Numerical experiments are performed for cavitation numbers 0.8 and 0.4. The presented model predicts the essential features of unsteady cavitating flows, the generation of vapor cavities, the time-dependent oscillations of the variables and the presence of vortical flow structures associated to vapor volume concentrations during the shedding process.</span>
文摘This paper is devoted to application of the Reduced-Order Model(ROM)based on Volterra series to prediction of lift and drag forces due to airfoil periodic translation in transonic flow region.When there is large amplitude oscillation of the relative Mach number,as appeared in helicopter rotor movement in forward flight,the conventional Volterra ROM is found to be unsatisfactory.To cover such applications,a matched Volterra ROM,inspired from previous multistep nonlinear indicial response method based on Duhamel integration,is thus considered,in which the step motions are defined inside a number of equal intervals with both positive and negative step motions to match the airfoil forward and backward movement,and the kernel functions are constructed independently at each interval.It shows that,at least for the translation movement considered,this matched Volterra ROM greatly improves the accuracy of prediction.Moreover,the matched Volterra ROM,with the total number of step motions and thus the computational cost close to those of the conventional Volterra ROM method,has the additional advantage that the same set of kernels can match various translation motions with different starting conditions so the kernels can be predesigned without knowing the specific motion of airfoil.
