In the framework of uniiorm spaces, we introduce p-distances and more generally, q-distances. Then we introduce a new type of completeness for uniform spaces, i.e., sequential completeness with respect to a q-distance （particularly, a p-distance）, which is a very extensive concept of completeness. By using q-distances and the new type of completeness, we prove a generalized Takahashi＇s nonconvex minimization theorem, a generalized Ekeland＇s variational principle and a generalized Caristi＇s fixed point theorem. Moreover, we show that the above three theorems are equivalent to each other. From the generalized Ekeland＇s variational principle, we deduce a number of particular versions of Ekeland＇s principle, which include many known versions of the principle and their improvements.展开更多

A virtual uniform linear array (VULA) is first derived by using spatial DFT technique, transforming the UCA from element space to phase mode space to obtain the properties of ordinary ULA, and then the well known spatial smoothing technique is applied to the VULA so that the lost rank of covariance matrix due to signal coherence can be retrieved. This method makes it feasible to use the simple MUSIC algorithm to estimate DOA of coherent signals impinging on a UCA without heavy computation burden. Simulation results strongly verify the effectiveness of the algorithm.展开更多

This paper presents a carbon fibre cathode which is tested in a single pulsed power generator. The distribution and the development of cathode plasma are observed by time-and-space resolved diagnostics, and the uniformity of electron beam density is checked by taking x-ray images. A quasistationary behaviour of cathode plasma expansion is observed. It is found that the uniformity of the extracted electron beam is satisfactory in spite of individual plasma jets on the cathode surface. These results show that carbon fibre cathodes can provide a positive prospect for developing a high-quality electron beam.展开更多
