D.AWilkins, a famous British linguist, said: "Without grammar, people can't express many things;without vocabulary, people can't express anything." Therefore, vocabulary plays an important role in language teaching, and vocabulary teaching is an important link that can not be ignored in the process of English teaching in senior high schools. Our school is a face-to-face middle school with poor quality of students, and English is a weak subject for our students. For the needs of underachievers, and in order to improve English teaching effect, help underachievers learn English well, and improve the core literacy of English subjects, I have put English vocabulary teaching into English teaching all the time, and tried advanced vocabulary teaching strategies for underachievers, which can improve students' vocabulary and vocabulary application ability from interest stimulation, teaching natural spelling, designing exercises and early reading materials to vocabulary application. In this paper, the specific practices are described with the example of Unit1 Great scientists, the compulsory five of the new curriculum standard for people's education.展开更多
