The Shanghai-style pediatric Tuina(Chinese therapeutic massage)school,a renowned academic school of pediatric Tuina in China, was founded by Professor JIN Yicheng,a mentor of the National Senior Traditional Chinese Medicine(TCM)Experts’Clinical Experience Inheritance Class and a distinguished TCM practitioner in Shanghai. This academic school has now been perpetuated through four generations.Prof.JIN Yicheng,a pioneering leader in modern China’s pediatric Tuina, has dedicated sixty years to medical practice with unwavering benevolence and adherence to“principled innovation”.While delving into traditional and ancient teachings,he has also embraced contemporary advancements.Building upon the essence of traditional pediatric Tuina,he integrated distinctive techniques from various Tuina schools, including the Yi Zhi Chan Tuina school, rolling manipulation Tuina school, and Neigong Tuina school. He also assimilated the quintessence of historical pediatric Tuina literature, the experience of modern Shanghai-based pediatric Tuina masters, and folk techniques while incorporating his years of clinical insights. This synthesis finally led to the formulation of the academic thought of“reinforcing healthy Qi and unblocking regulation”in Shanghai-style pediatric Tuina that guides clinical practice.Specifically,he comprehensively applies techniques such as“unblocking regulation of Zang-Fu organs”,“unblocking regulation of the four seas”,“unblocking regulation of the water and fire”,and“unblocking regulation of the back”to the prevention and treatment of pediatric diseases across internal medicine, external medicine, orthopedics, and otolaryngology, which has significantly enhanced clinical efficacy and expanded the applicable age range and scope of Tuina for pediatric health issues, more aligning with the characteristics of children and adolescents’health challenges and current clinical demands, and paving a new way in preserving and developing traditional pediatric Tuina. 展开更多

The high incidence of hand, foot, and mouth disease(HFMD)in children, coupled with improper management, can lead to complications, causing significant distress to both patients and their parents. This article reports on the successful treatment of a case of HFMD with dampness-heat accumulation in the spleen type using a therapeutic approach of applying herbal patches to acupoints to disperse dampness, promote heat dissipation, and unblock the fu organs. The herbs selected primarily include honeysuckle,Forsythia, and mint to relieve the exterior and promote heat dissipation;Agastache and magnolia bark to transform and dry dampness;Scutellaria, blackberry lily, and licorice to clear heat, detoxify, and benefit the throat;and magnolia bark and bitter orange to unblock the fu organs and purge heat. The flexible combination of these herbs with acupoints such as Shenque,Zhongwan,Tiantu, and Feishu fully leverages the synergistic effects of both the herbs and acupoints, resulting in a significant therapeutic effect. This approach provides valuable insights and methodologies for the prevention and treatment of HFMD in children. 展开更多

This research assesses the speed of blood flow across blood vessels and more specifically the veins in terms of Reynold’s number (laminar flow vs. turbulence flow) and in terms of overall speed of the blood when being injected with high-speed saline particles. The authors propose a novel technique to generate accelerated-waved particles built from saline solution to enable the unblocking of partially-blocked healthy-walled veins, and to restore normal operations of these veins. The novel technique encompasses a pump that accelerates saline solutions into the blood stream of the vein and these oscillated waves break down the fats or deposits inside the veins in order to help the blood to flow freely without any obstruction. This research simulated the vein with blood stream using characteristics of the vein in terms of vein diameter, blood density, venous blood flow, and the viscosity of the blood at the normal body temperature. The speed of the overall blood flow after the injection of the accelerated saline droplet solution was determined as well as the depth of penetration of the accelerated particles in order to cleanse the inside of the vein. Results are promising in terms of not altering significantly the overall speed of the bloodstream and also in terms of efficacy of the length of the vein which is being cleaned using this accelerated particle method. 展开更多
