In oil and gas well cementing processes, accurately predicting the bottom hole circulating temperature(BHCT)is critical to ensuring effective zonal isolation.Overestimating the temperature can lead to excessive retardation issues, while underestimation can cause cementing accidents.Current methods for calculating the BHCT of cement slurry typically simplify the cementing processes to a single-fluid circulation and ignore the impact of pre-cementing processes on temperature, leading to significant discrepancies between calculated and actual results. In this study, the wellbore and formation are simplified into a two-dimensional axisymmetric structure, and a mathematical model of the temperature field under multi-fluid and multi-step conditions is established based on the law of energy conservation. The finite volume method was used to discretize the model, and a transient temperature field solver for the entire cementing process was developed, which can numerically calculate the temperature of any fluid at any time, any location. For an actual well example, the temperature distribution of the wellbore and formation after casing running is taken as the initial condition.Numerical calculations were performed sequentially to calculate the temperature fields of circulation flushing, wellbore preparation, and cementing,as well as the BHCT of the cement slurry. The study reveals that during the circulation flushing stage, the maximum temperature point in the wellbore is located at a distance of about 366 m above the bottom of the well.In the wellbore preparation stage, due to static heat exchange, the maximum temperature point gradually shifts to the bottom of the well. The BHCT of cement slurry changes continuously under cementing processes with multi-fluid and multi-step,making it a transient value. The BHCT of the lead slurry and tail slurry are not equal, with the maximum BHCT of the tail slurry being 2.46°C higher than that of the lead slurry. If circulation flushing and wellbore preparation are not considered, the calculated BHCT of the cement slurry will have errors of+6.8%and-1.9%.The study highlighted that considering thermal effects of all cementing stages, such as circulation flushing and wellbore preparation,in BHCT calculations can help improve prediction accuracy. 展开更多

Integrating thick/thin film sensors into component systems has emerged as a prevalent approach for monitoring in extreme environments. However, traditional vapor deposition methods face obstacles, including complex fabrication processes and the degradation of sensitive materials at extremely high temperatures. This work delineates the development of a polysilazane composite dual-layer thick-film Negative Temperature Coefficient(NTC)thermistor characterized by its suitability for extreme temperatures and robust bond strength achieved through an advanced near-net-shape printing methodology.High-temperature resistant La(Ca)CrO_(3)/polysilazane films were printed as the sensitive layer, while a dense layer formed by Cr_(2)O_(3)/polysilazane was used as the protective layer. The bilayer structure resulted in a 2.5-fold increase in adhesion strength compared to the single-layer La(Ca)CrO_(3)/polysilazane films.Experimental results indicate that the dual-layer thick-film NTC thermistor can be operated long-term at 1300℃ with a resistance drift rate of 0.9%/h and survive short-term exposure to temperatures up to 1550℃.As a proof of concept, this work applied 3D printing technology to fabricate a polysilazane composite dual-layer thick-film NTC thermistor on the surface of turbine blades and demonstrated its functionality under flame impingement at nearly 1300℃.Such flexible 3D printing techniques pave the way for a new paradigm in manufacturing sensors capable of withstanding ultra-high temperatures. 展开更多

In the electroslag remelting(ESR)process,it mainly relies on thermal experiments or analysis via mechanistic models to realize the physical fields simulation of the electromagnetic field and temperature field coupled transfer, which has the limitations of high cost,a large amount of calculating data and high computing power requirements.A novel network based on physics-informed neural network(PINN)was designed to realize the fast and high-fidelity prediction of the distribution of electromagnetic field and temperature field in ESR process. The physical laws were combined with the deep learning network through PINN,and physical constraints were embedded to achieve effective solution of partial differential equations(PDEs).PINN was used to minimize the loss function consisting of data error, physical information error and boundary condition error. The physical laws and boundary condition constraints in the ESR process were considered to maintain high PDE solution accuracy under different spatial and temporal resolutions.Automatic differentiation(Autodiff)technique and gradient descent algorithm were used to optimize the network parameters. The experimental results show that compared with the mechanistic models,PINN can effectively replace thermal experiments to realize the physical field simulation of ESR process with only a few experimental data, which can avoid the disadvantages of pure data-driven network simulation that requires a large amount of training data. Moreover, the solution of PINN has good physical interpretability and reliability of simulation results. For simulating electromagnetic field and temperature field distribution, the training time of the network is only 140 and 203 s,and the regression indicators of root mean square error can reach 12.65 and 13.76,respectively. 展开更多

Microstructure, precipitate and magnetic characteristic of fmal products with different normalizing cooling processes for Fe-3.2%Si low-temperature hot-rolled grain-oriented silicon steel were analyzed and compared with the hot-rolled plate by optical microscopy (OM), transmission electron microscopy (TEM), and energy dispersive spectrometry (EDS). The results show that, the surface microstructure is uniform, the proportion of recrystallization in matrix increases, and the banding textures are narrowed; the precipitates, whose quantity in normalized plate is more than that in hot-rolled plate greatly, are mainly A1N, MnS, composite precipitates (Cu,Mn)S and so on. Normalizing technology with a temperature of 1120 ℃, holding for 3 min, and a two-stage cooling is a most advantaged method to obtain oriented silicon steel with sharper Goss texture and higher magnetic properties, owing to the uniform surface microstructures and the obvious inhomogeneity of microstructures along the thickness. The normalizing technology with the two-stage cooling is the optimum process, which can generate more fine precipitates dispersed over the matrix, and be beneficial for finished products to get higher magnetic properties. 展开更多

The high temperature deformation behaviors of α+β type titanium alloy TC11 (Ti-6.5Al-3.5Mo-1.5Zr-0.3Si) with coarse lamellar starting microstructure were investigated based on the hot compression tests in the temperature range of 950-1100 ℃ and the strain rate range of 0.001-10 s-1. The processing maps at different strains were then constructed based on the dynamic materials model, and the hot compression process parameters and deformation mechanism were optimized and analyzed, respectively. The results show that the processing maps exhibit two domains with a high efficiency of power dissipation and a flow instability domain with a less efficiency of power dissipation. The types of domains were characterized by convergence and divergence of the efficiency of power dissipation, respectively. The convergent domain in a+fl phase field is at the temperature of 950-990 ℃ and the strain rate of 0.001-0.01 s^-1, which correspond to a better hot compression process window of α+β phase field. The peak of efficiency of power dissipation in α+β phase field is at 950 ℃ and 0.001 s 1, which correspond to the best hot compression process parameters of α+β phase field. The convergent domain in β phase field is at the temperature of 1020-1080 ℃ and the strain rate of 0.001-0.1 s^-l, which correspond to a better hot compression process window of β phase field. The peak of efficiency of power dissipation in ℃ phase field occurs at 1050 ℃ over the strain rates from 0.001 s^-1 to 0.01 s^-1, which correspond to the best hot compression process parameters of ,8 phase field. The divergence domain occurs at the strain rates above 0.5 s^-1 and in all the tested temperature range, which correspond to flow instability that is manifested as flow localization and indicated by the flow softening phenomenon in stress-- strain curves. The deformation mechanisms of the optimized hot compression process windows in a+β and β phase fields are identified to be spheroidizing and dynamic recrystallizing controlled by self-diffusion mechanism, respectively. The microstructure observation of the deformed specimens in different domains matches very well with the optimized results. 展开更多

Carbon fiber reinforced ultra-high temperature ceramic (UHTC) composites, consisting of carbon fibers embedded in a UHTC-matrix or a C-SiC-UHTC-matrix, are deemed as the most viable class of materials that can overcome the poor fracture toughness and thermal shock resistance of monolithic UHTC ma- terials, and also improve the oxidation resistance and ablation resistance of C/C and C/SiC composites at ultra-high temperatures. In this review, we summarize the different processing routes of the compos- ites based on the UHTC introducing methods, including chemical vapor infiltration/deposition (CVI/D), precursor infiltration and pyrolysis (PIP), reactive melt infiltration (RMI), slurry infiltration (SI). in-sito reaction, hot pressing (HP), etc; and the advantages and drawbacks of each method are briefly dis- cussed. The carbon fiber reinforced UHTC composites can be highly tailorable materials in terms of fiber. interface, and matrix. From the perspective of service environmental applications for engine propul- sions anti hypersonic vehicles, the material designs (mainly focusing on the composition, quantity, structure of matrix, as well as the architecture of carbon fibers, UHTCs and pores), their relevant processing routes and properties (emphasizing on the mechanical and ablation properties) are discussed in this paper. In addition, we propose a material architecture to realize the multi-function through changing the distri- bution of carbon fibers, UHTCs and pores, which will be an important issue for future development of carbon fiber reinforced UHTC composites. 展开更多

In this study, the effect of melting temperature on the microstructural evolutions, behavior, and corrosion morphology of Hadfield steel in the casting process is investigated. The mold was prepared by the sodium silicate/CO_2 method, using a blind riser, and then the desired molten steel was obtained using a coreless induction furnace. The casting was performed at melting temperatures of 1350, 1400, 1450, and 1500°C, and the cast blocks were immediately quenched in water. Optical microscopy was used to analyze the microstructure, and scanning electron microscopy(SEM) and X-ray diffractrometry(XRD) were used to analyze the corrosion morphology and phase formation in the microstructure, respectively. The corrosion behavior of the samples was analyzed using a potentiodynamic polarization test and electrochemical impedance spectroscopy(EIS) in 3.5 wt% NaCl. The optical microscopy observations and XRD patterns show that the increase in melting temperature led to a decrease of carbides and an increase in the austenite grain size in the Hadfield steel microstructure. The corrosion tests results show that with increasing melting temperature in the casting process, Hadfield steel shows a higher corrosion resistance. The SEM images of the corrosion morphologies show that the reduction of melting temperature in the Hadfield steel casting process induced micro-galvanic corrosion conditions. 展开更多

The microstructure and characteristics of LSGM, LSCM and LSFM were tested via X-ray diffraction(XRD), scanning electron microcopy (SEM), A C impedance and four-probe direct current techniques. XRD shows that pure perovskite phase LSGM electrolyte and electrode (LSCM anode and LSFM cathode) materials were prepared after being sintered at 1400℃for 20 h and at 1000℃for 5 h, respectively. The max conductivities of LSGM (ionic conductivity), LSCM (total conductivity) and LSFM (total conductivity) materials are 0.02, 10, 16 S·cm-1 in the air below 850℃, respectively. The conductivity of LSCM becomes smaller when the atmosphere changes from air to pure hydrogen at the same temperature and it decreases with the temperature like metal. The porous and LSGM-based LSCM anode and LSFM cathode films were prepared by screen printing method, and the sintering temperatures for them were 1300 and 1250℃, respectively. LSGM and electrode (LSCM and LSFM) materials have good thermal and chemical compatibility. 展开更多

A specially developed ultrasonic measurement apparatus (UMA) was used to in situ monitor the setting process of fly ash blended cement paste. Combined with the results of Vicat Needle tests, isothermal calorimetric measurement, XRD analysis, SEM morphology and compressive test, the influence of curing temperature (20, 40, 60, and 90 ℃) and fly ash content (0,10%, 20% and 30%) on the setting and hydration process of fly ash blended cement paste was analyzed. The results show that setting and hardening process of fly ash blended cement paste at elevated temperature can be clearly identified into three stages including dormant stage, acceleration stage and deceleration stage. The increasing of curing temperature greatly accelerates the setting and hardening process. However, the content of fly ash does not have significant effect on the setting in condition of 90 ℃. Besides, the initial and final setting time of cement paste is correspondent with the time of duration of dormant stage and the time of UPV value is 1500 m/s (T1500), respectively. Thus, the UMA can be used to determine the initial and final setting time of cementitious material under different curing temperatures. The compressive test results indicate that the paste with 20% fly ash presents higher compressive strength than the plain paste at curing temperatures of 90 ℃. Therefore, appropriate amount of fly ash is beneficial for concrete in the high temperature curing conditions. 展开更多

In order to get a better understanding of the vacuum consumable arc remelting(VAR) processes and thus to optimize them,a 3D finite element model was developed for the temperature fields and heat transfer of titanium alloy ingots during VAR process. The results show that the temperature fields obtained by the simulation are well validated through the experiment results. The temperature distribution is different during the whole VAR process and the steady-state molten pool forms at 329 s for d100 mm × 180 mm ingots. At the initial stage of remelting, the heat dissipation of crucible bottom plays an important role in the whole heat dissipation system. At the middle of remelting, the crucible wall becomes a major heat dissipation way.The effect of cooling velocity on the solidification structure of ingots was investigated based on the temperature fields and the results can well explain the macrostructure of titanium alloy ingots. 展开更多

The effects of the annealing process on the mechanical properties and crystallization behaviors of polypropylene random copolymer(PP-R) composites were investigated using differential scanning calorimetry(DSC), wide-angle X-ray diffraction(WAXD), and dynamic mechanical analysis(DMA), and scanning electron microscopy(SEM). The experimental results indicated that the annealing process significantly influenced the comprehensive properties of PP-R composites. At temperatures below 23 ℃, the impact strength of the PP-R composites annealed at 120 ℃ for 6 h was relatively high at 74.73 k J/m^2, which was 16.8% higher than that of the samples annealed at 80 ℃ for 6 h. At low temperatures(-30-0 ℃), the impact strength ranged from approximately 13.31 k J/m^2 to 54.4 k J/m^2. In addition, the annealing process conducted at 120 ℃ for 6 h improved the crystalline structure and low-temperature toughness of the PP-R composites and induced α-form to β-form crystal transformation. The work provides a possible method to reinforce and toughen the semicrystalline polymer at low temperatures(-30-0 ℃) by annealing. 展开更多

In this study, effects of elevated air temperatures on thermal and hydrologic process of the shallow soil in the active layer were investigated. Open-top chambers(OTCs)were utilized to increase air temperatures 1-2℃ in OTC-1 and 3-5℃ in OTC-2 in the alpine meadow ecosystem on the Qinghai- Tibetan Plateau. Results show that the annual air temperatures under OTC-1 and OTC-2 were 1.21℃ and 3.62℃ higher than the Control, respectively. The entirely-frozen period of shallow soil in the active layer was shortened and the fully thawed period was prolonged with temperature increase. The maximum penetration depth and duration of the negative isotherm during the entirely-frozen period decreased, and soil freezing was retarded in the local scope of the soil profile when temperature increased.Meanwhile, the positive isotherm during the fully-thawed period increased, and the soil thawing was accelerated.Soil moisture under different manipulations decreased with the temperature increase at the same depth. During the early freezing period and the early fully- thawed period, the maximum soil moisture under the Control manipulation was at 0.2 m deep, whereas under OTC-1 and OTC-2 manipulations, the maximum soil moisture were at 0.4-0.5 m deep. These results indicate that elevated temperatures led to a decrease of the moisture in the surface soil. The coupled relationship between soil temperature and moisture was significantly affected by the temperature increase.During the freezing and thawing processes, the soil temperature and moisture under different manipulations fit the regression model given by the equationθV=a/{1+exp[b(TS+c)]}+d. 展开更多

Blade precision forging is a high temperature and large plastic deformation process. Process parameters have a great effect on temperature distribution in billet, so in this paper, by taking a Ti-6Al-4V alloy blade with a tenon as an object, the influence of process parameters on the temperature distribution in precision forging process was investigated using 3D coupled thermo-mechanical FEM (finite element method) code developed by the authors. The results obtained illustrate that: (1) the gradient of temperature distribution increases with increasing the deformation degree; (2) with increasing the initial temperature of the billet, the zones of high temperature become larger, and the gradient of temperature distribution hardly has any increase; (3) friction factors have little effect on the distribution of temperature field; (4) with increasing upper die velocity, temperature of the billet increases while the temperature gradient in billet decreases. The results are helpful to the design and optimization of the process parameters in precision forging process of Ti-alloy blade. 展开更多

Breaking down the entire structure of a material implies severing all the bonds between its atoms either by applying work or by heat transfer. Because bond-breaking is indifferent to either means, there is a kind of equivalence between heat energy and strain energy. Based on this equivalence, we assume the existence of a constant maximum storage of energy that includes both the strain energy and the corresponding equivalent heat energy. A temperaturedependent fracture strength model is then developed for ultrahigh temperature ceramics (UHTCs). Model predictions for UHTCs, HfB2, TiC and ZrB2, are presented and compared with the experimental results. These predictions are found to be largely consistent with experimental results. 展开更多

This article investigates the low-temperature formation of aluminide coatings on a Ni-base superalloy by pack cementation process. The pack cemented coatings characteristic of high density and homogeneity possess a two-layer structure. The top layer mainly consists of Al3Ni2 and Al3Ni,while the bottom layer of Al3Ni2. Great efforts are made to elucidate the effects of different experimental parameters on the microstructure and the constituent distribution of the coatings. The results show that all the parameters exclusive of the pack activator (NH4Cl) content produce effect on the coating thickness, but do not on the microstructure and the constituent distribution. The pack activator (NH4Cl) content affects neither the coating thickness nor structure and constituent distribution. The parabolic relationship between the coating thickness and the deposition time suggests that the process is diffusion-controlled. Furthermore, the article demonstrates a linear relationship between the coating thickness and the re-ciprocal deposition temperature. 展开更多

The objective of this paper was to investigate the practicability of coagulation-immersed membrane process during low-temperature period through the study of steady operation, chemical cleaning methods, water quality and agent consumption.Experimental results showed that:membrane performance decreases with the reduction of temperature, but low temperature has little effect on stable operation of immersed membrane when coagulation as pretreatment.EFM with 1200 mg/L sodium hypochlorite after every 48 filtration cycles was made for reducing membrane fouling efficiently, and the method, with 1.5% sodium hydroxide and 3500 mg/L sodium hypochlorite for 10 h and then 2% hydrochloric acid for 4 h,is an appropriate cleaning method under low temperature.Compared with convention treatment process, immersed membrane process not only has same agent consumption, but also permeated water quality is more superior such as fine removal effect on turbidity with average 0.10 NTU.Therefore,coagulation-immersed membrane process is more appropriate for increasing water quality demand and the treatment of low turbidity and low temperature water. 展开更多

During high speed machining in the field of manufacture, chip formation is a severe plastic deformation process including large strain, high strain rate and high temperature. And the strain rate in high speed cutting process can be achieved to 105 s^(-1).30CrMnSiNi2Asteel is a kind of important high-strength low-alloy structural steel with wide application range.Obtaining the dynamic mechanical properties of30CrMnSiNi2Aunder the conditions of high strain rate and high temperature is necessary to construct the constitutive relation model for high speed machining. The dynamic compressive mechanical properties of30CrMnSiNi2Asteel were studied using split Hopkinson pressure bar(SHPB)tests at 30-700°C and3000-10000s^(-1).The stress-strain curves of 30CrMnSiNi2Asteel at different temperatures and strain rates were investigated, and the strain hardening effect and temperature effect were discussed.Experimental results show that 30CrMnSiNi2Ahas obvious temperature sensitivity at 300°C.Moreover,the flow stress decreased significantly with the increase of temperature. The strain hardening effect of the material at high strain rate is not significant with the increase of strain. The strain rate hardening effect is obvious with increasing the temperature.According to the experimental results, the established Johnson-Cook(J-C)constitutive model of 30CrMnSiNi2Asteel could be used at high strain rate and high temperature. 展开更多
