Thermal errors in CNC machine tools,particularly those involving the spindle,significantly affect machining accuracy and performance.These errors,caused by temperature fluctuations in the spindle and surrounding components,result in dimensional deviations that can lead to poor part quality and reduced precision in high-speed manufacturing processes.This paper explores thermal error modeling and compensation methods for the spindle of five-axis CNC machine tools.A detailed analysis of the heat generation,transfer mechanisms,and finite element analysis(FEA)is presented to develop accurate thermal error models.Compensation techniques,such as model-based methods,sensor-based methods,real-time compensation algorithms,and hybrid approaches,are critically reviewed.This study also discusses the challenges in real-time compensation and the integration of thermal error compensation with machine tool control systems.The objective is to provide a comprehensive understanding of thermal error phenomena and their compensation strategies,ultimately contributing to the enhancement of machining accuracy in advanced manufacturing applications. 展开更多

Numerous factors affect the increased temperature of a machine tool, including prolonged and high-intensity usage,tool-workpiece interaction, mechanical friction, and elevated ambient temperatures, among others. Consequently,spindle thermal displacement occurs, and machining precision suffers. To prevent the errors caused by thetemperature rise of the Spindle fromaffecting the accuracy during themachining process, typically, the factory willwarm up themachine before themanufacturing process.However, if there is noway to understand the tool spindle’sthermal deformation, the machining quality will be greatly affected. In order to solve the above problem, thisstudy aims to predict the thermal displacement of the machine tool by using intelligent algorithms. In the practicalapplication, only a few temperature sensors are used to input the information into the prediction model for realtimethermal displacement prediction. This approach has greatly improved the quality of tool processing.However,each algorithm has different performances in different environments. In this study, an ensemble model is used tointegrate Long Short-TermMemory (LSTM) with Support VectorMachine (SVM). The experimental results showthat the prediction performance of LSTM-SVM is higher than that of other machine learning algorithms. 展开更多

Using aerostatic bearing itself as actuator, the vibration of spindle is controlled by adjusting admission pressure respectively and by changing pressure distribution in the bearing. Effects of automatic variable preload device on performance of spindle 被引量:1

To increase the machine accuracy by improving the stiffness of bearings,a preload was applied to bearings.A variable preload technology was necessary to perform machining processes in both low and high speed regions.An automatic variable preload device was fabricated using an eccentric mass.By installing the fabricated device on a spindle,the effect of the automatic variable preload device on the performance of the spindle was analyzed.In the results of the vibration measurement of the spindle,the vibration is increased by 20%-37% according to measurement points at the maximum rotation speed of 5 000 r/min.And,in the results of the noise measurement of the spindle,the spindle rotation speed is increased by about 1.9% and 1.5% at the front and side of the spindle,respectively.Based on the results of this analysis,an improved method that reduces such effects on the performance of the spindle is proposed. 展开更多

This paper focuses on model development for computer analysis of the thermal behavior of an externally driven spindle. The aim of the developed model is to enable efficient quantitative estimation of the thermal characteristics of the main spindle unit in an early stage of the development process. The presented work includes an experimental validation of the simulation model using a custom-built test rig. Specifically, the effects of the heat generated in the bearings and the heat flux from the bearing to the adjacent spindle system elements are investigated. Simulation and experimental results are compared and demonstrate good accordance. The proposed model is a useful, efficient and validated tool for quantitative simulation of thermal behavior of a main spindle system. 展开更多

A spindle fault diagnosis method based on CNN-SVM optimized by particle swarm algorithm(PSO)is proposed to address the problems of high failure rate of electric spindles of high precision CNC machine tools,while manual fault diagnosis is a tedious task and low efficiency.The model uses a convolutional neural network(CNN)model as a deep feature miner and a support vector machine(SVM)as a fault state classifier.Taking the electric spindle of a five-axis machining centre as the experimental research object,the model classifies and predicts four labelled states:normal state of the electric spindle,loose state of the rotating shaft and coupling,eccentric state of the motor air gap and damaged state of the bearing and rolling body,while introducing a particle swarm algorithm(PSO)is introduced to optimize the hyperparameters in the model to improve the prediction effect.The results show that the proposed hybrid PSO-CNN-SVM model is able to monitor and diagnose the electric spindle failure of a 5-axis machining centre with an accuracy of 99.33%.In comparison with the BP model,SVM model,CNN model and CNN-SVM model,the accuracy of the model increased by 10%,6%,4%and 2%respectively,which shows that the fault diagnosis model proposed in the paper can monitor the operation status of the electric spindle more effectively and diagnose the type of electric spindle fault,so as to improve the maintenance strategy. 展开更多

Small sample size problem is one of the main problems that heavy numerical control(NC) machine tools encounter in their reliability assessment. In order to deal with the small sample size problem, many indirect reliability data such as reliability data of similar products, expert opinion, and engineers' experience are used in reliability assessment. However, the existing mathematical theories cannot simultaneously process the above reliability data of multiple types, and thus imprecise probability theory is introduced. Imprecise probability theory can simultaneously process multiple reliability data by quantifying multiple uncertainties(stochastic uncertainty,fuzzy uncertainty, epistemic uncertainty, etc.) together. Although imprecise probability theory has so many advantages, the existing natural extension models are complex and the computation result is imprecise. Therefore,they need some improvement for the better application of reliability engineering. This paper proposes an improved imprecise reliability assessment method by introducing empirical probability distributions to natural extension model, and the improved natural extension model is applied to the reliability assessment of heavy NC machine tool spindle to illustrate its effectiveness. 展开更多

In order to satisfy the machining requirements of aero-engine casing in modern aviation industry, this paper investigates three main issues during the design and development process of a five-axis machine tool with high accuracy, stiffness and efficiency, including whole structure design,key components design, and supporting stiffness design. First, an appropriate structure of five-axis machine tool is determined considering the processing characteristics of aero-engine casing. Then, a dual drive swing head and a compact motorized spindle are designed with enough drive capability and stiffness, and related structure, assembly method, cooling technology, and performance simulation are given in detail. Next, a design method of supporting stiffness of guide is proposed through the deformation prediction of the spindle end. Based on above work, a prototype of machine tool is developed, and some experiments are carried out, including performance tests of swing head and motorized spindle, and machining of a simulated workpiece of aero-engine casing. All experimental results show that the machine tool has satisfactory accuracy, stiffness and efficiency, which meets the machining requirements of aero-engine casing. The main work can be used as references for engineers and technicians, which are meaningful in practice. 展开更多

基于TCN-LSTM-DA的数控机床主轴热误差动态建模

主轴热误差是影响机床精度的关键误差源,而热误差补偿是减小主轴热误差的重要技术,其中热误差建模是前提和基础。为提高热误差模型的预测能力,提出一种结合时间卷积网络(TCN)、长短期记忆网络(LSTM)和差分注意力机制(DA)的动态建模方法... 主轴热误差是影响机床精度的关键误差源,而热误差补偿是减小主轴热误差的重要技术,其中热误差建模是前提和基础。为提高热误差模型的预测能力,提出一种结合时间卷积网络(TCN)、长短期记忆网络(LSTM)和差分注意力机制(DA)的动态建模方法。该方法通过模糊C均值聚类(FCM)及互信息(MI)选取温度关键点,TCN提取温度序列全局时序特征,LSTM捕捉时序间依赖关系,并引入差分注意力机制调整时间步权重,利用鲸鱼优化算法(WOA)优化关键超参数,构建TCN-LSTM-DA热误差模型。结果表明,TCN-LSTM-DA模型具有优异预测能力,对比消融实验中的LSTM-DA、TCN-LSTM、TCN-DA及传统的LSTM、GRU和BPNN模型,其MAE平均降低了约15.6%、17.8%、21.9%、24.1%、31%和32.2%,RMSE平均降低了约16.4%、19.0%、22.1%、26.3%、28.8%和32.8%,验证了各模块必要性,为热误差补偿提供了核心支撑。 展开更多

为解决非弹力单包包覆纱因包缠内应力导致的扭结问题,提出采用芯纱实时反向加捻再包覆的技术方法,即对芯纱进行捻向与包缠捻向相反的实时加捻,通过芯纱加捻的反捻力矩抵消外包缠纱包缠产生的反捻力矩,实现包覆纱的无扭结效果。探讨了2... 为解决非弹力单包包覆纱因包缠内应力导致的扭结问题,提出采用芯纱实时反向加捻再包覆的技术方法,即对芯纱进行捻向与包缠捻向相反的实时加捻,通过芯纱加捻的反捻力矩抵消外包缠纱包缠产生的反捻力矩,实现包覆纱的无扭结效果。探讨了2种在空心锭包覆机上进行芯纱实时加捻的技术:空心锭机构加捻与倍捻机构加捻,给出2种芯纱加捻的技术原理,并分析了各自优缺点和适用性;明确了芯纱加捻的捻向匹配原则:长丝芯纱可自由选择加捻捻向,短纤芯纱因具有初始捻度,芯纱进行再加捻的捻向须与原捻向相同。利用2种芯纱加捻机构分别纺制了包缠捻度为500捻/m的涤纶长丝混色包覆纱和包缠捻度为800捻/m的毛/涤纶混色包覆纱,并对不同芯纱反向加捻捻度下包覆纱的扭结指数和拉伸性能进行了测试。结果表明,芯纱反向加捻可显著降低包覆纱的扭结,当涤纶长丝芯纱反向加捻至400捻/m时,扭结指数下降超90%;毛/涤纶包覆纱芯纱捻度达200捻/m时,扭结接近完全消除。芯纱加捻改变了包覆纱的结构,故对复合纱的性能会有所影响,对于不同芯纱和外包缠纱配置,以及不同芯纱反向加捻捻度,断裂强力和伸长率的变化趋势有所不同。 展开更多
